Very disappointed. Freezer only lasted just over 6yrs before being told after a two week wait the compressor had failed and it is not fixable. They… Read more
have offered me a pro rata price in a new freezer but at $1100 and a 4 week wait for delivery (after already waiting 2 weeks for service and an outcome) is not good enough. I specifically bought Westinghouse as it is meant to be a reliable brand. Spending almost $2000 on a freezer should last longer than 6yrs. I don't think I will pay $1100 for a replacement as why would I trust it again, I see others have had similar issues with it failing just outside warranty. Maybe I'm better off spending under $1000 on a Hisense. Apparently the brand Westinghouse doesn't mean quality anymore.

Fine but really... only 5 years? – Worked well for 4.5 years. Stopped working this week (June 2020). Westinghouse service technician (booked through Westinghouse) charged $145 to come… Read more
out and tell me that they’re only built to last that long and 90% need to be replaced once they stop working and can’t be fixed. Wish someone had told me when I booked the service, I could’ve saved $145. Also said none of them are designed to last longer so just as good to get a cheap one instead of a more expensive one.
Less than pleasant experience – Purchased to replace a 14 year old freezer this model began to produce a virtual river of ice down the inside of the freezer behind the shelves… Read more

was replaced but in these modern times I know the Westinghouse won't last anywhere near as long. The covers for each shelf are flimsy, the bottom level box is not easy to get in & out. And the alarm is so quiet (which for me is not really a problem) and nothing like the alarm on my fridge freezer.

supply. The Westinghouse unit looks good and appears to perform well, but it is basically just a bottomless pit with only one pàthetically small top basket and no internal divider, this will be painful to use with items not seperated and items on the high side falling into the main pit. Looked to Westinghouse website for options and found the model is not even listed but in any event the cost for another upper basket would likely be around $75 as for similar size models. Will have to go to Kmart to buy odd baskets, just disappointed that Westinghouse did not even include a divider and we made our selection over and above the cheaper Chinese brands, just looks like penny pinching. Be prepared to spend more money to make the product more user friendly. The photos show the older Kelvinator top basket compared to the new and the bottomless pit.

This appliance has not lasted very well at all – In July 2021 I bought the Westinghouse 86L Bar Freezer WFM0900WD. It worked fine for about 12 months or so, and I did all the right things,… Read more
defrosting every six months, and making sure the door was properly closed. Some weeks ago, I noticed that the lowest drawer did not seem as cold as the middle and top drawers, and the lowest drawer is where I store frozen vegetables and frozen chips. Over the next few weeks, the lower part of the freezer seemed to get warmer, to me it seemed about the temperature of the inside of a refrigerator. Not exactly a good temperature for a freezer. As it was due to be defrosted, I defrosted the freezer, switched it off and unplugged it, left the door ajar and removed all food to the fridge, and removed the drawers. When it was fully defrosted, I wiped it out, removed the tray that I had put at the bottom to catch the water, re-plugged it and switched it on, and replaced all the food. As a test, I left the lowest drawer empty except for a freezer pack to see if that would freeze. I checked the next morning, but that freezer pack had not frozen, and I was not terribly impressed. I also had to throw out the packets of vegetables and chips, the vegetables were rotten and the chips were mouldy. I am very disappointed with this appliance and will not be recommending it to anyone. To me, it was a waste of my money.

it will slide right out. Before I knew it was a hinge issue, we had the repair guy come out and heat the seal up, which did work until you opened and closed it (and we did leave it for hours before opening it again). The seals on this unit need to be thicker, too.
