with the chain bar were when cutting close to the tip of the bar, the chain may go into the bar opening a gap. This happened twice. Milwaukee’s warranty is great, however, the bar quality can be improved. I was wondering if I had the chain too tight, but hard to imagine this would happen twice. Never experienced this with other conventional saws. The chain saw RPM is on the low side compared to others. Aside from that, as usual with Milwaukee products, great product.

was BRAND NEW, untouched and still in a box when I got it off the seller. Granted I was using it for an average of about 3 hours, five days a week is heavy usage but its marketed as a heavy duty tool for tradesmen and everyone keeps talking about the apparent reliability of Milwaukee tools so I thought it would be a safe purchase. But nope, the hype about Milwaukee is fake and honestly, I would have been better off just buying Ryobi drill from Bunnings as I personally never had issues with my current Ryobi grinder which has lasted me years instead of this junk.

lubricating oil out it will over time leak out leaving a puddle of oil to clean up. Even depressurising the tank does not prevent this.

fast. 11000 rpm is perfect down to a minimum of 2800. It is simply one of the best 125mm grinder out there. I love the snap lock guards. Adjustable in seconds. Length is important to. Don't want them to long that they restrict access. And cutter head height is nice and low for access.. Power is great at 1550 Watts. A market leader. Money well spent for a premium product.

It has proven to be excellent, it is the only Milwaukee tool I own, as a corded unit I’m not dependent upon batteries. It was great value at the end of line slow sale, and although at the time I didn’t have a particular need for it the value and performance of the unit was outstanding
As the only SDS MAX Rotary hammer I have it has proven to be invaluable. Easily able to drill into rock hard concrete with drill bits up to 32 mm which is the biggest I’ve needed to use, I have a preference for 4 cutter carbide tipped bits by Bosch and Milwaukee which have proven to be outstandingly efficient at what they do. I also have a range of additional max bits, shovels breakers chisels etc and this unit handles them all with ease. The unit wires around 6 kg plus The drill bit, and while at times after hours on and off of work it may get a little heavy as I am not a big fellow, The heavy duty punch this unit can deliver is well above its weight burden and therefore provides an outstanding weight versus delivery impact benefit.
The unit has proved to be reliable, comfortable has good vibration absorption and is safe to handle, as it is fitted with the usual up-to-date safety features.
While the unit has now been superseded by the 545 S, which in my opinion would just continue the high quality of the 540S, with just a bit more power and a bit more capacity, I believe any purchaser of this unit would be well impressed.
I have a number of Bosch corded SDS plus hammer drills which include the Bosch GBH 4 – 32 DFR, which has been my go to unit for many years when extra heavy duty was needed, the 540 S provided me a further step up in power and a step up in drill bit fitment e.g. SDS MAX, and I have found that generally the quality and reliability that I treasure in my Bosch SDS plus units has been mirrored by the 540S And I have been very impressed with its capacity and Robust design, And for me that’s a real compliment to it. I did get the unit at a very much reduced price however I feel after some period of ownership and use It would be good value even at its retail price which at the time would’ve been in the region of $840. So well done 540 S.

problem! I needed long life, high performance, easy to read/find, and crucially, fast access to the right bit to suit the job. Also small compact sized, clear markings and a reliable way to swap bits one handed. You would think that this would be easy to find. Strangely, the tool manufacturers failed to achieve this minimum standard. Weird huh? Expense was not a factor here, as these impact bit sets/kits are all actually very affordable. The vibration is very significant due to the impact thing, the good old common magnetic bit retaining method is not really suitable. The magic little device included in this kit looks like a micro chuck. Wow it's pure genius. Just push a bit in, one handed, it clicks home and is locked. Now to change bits, push the sleeve back, which unlocks and exposes the bit at the same time! The kit does not contain any useless stuff. This keeps the size tiny, pocket size is perfect! The bits are quick and easy to access and clearly marked. The price is half that of other maker's offerings.

Australia sandy soil it was adequate for this type of soil and most if the time I could let the weight of the cultivator do the work while dragging slowly through the settled ground. Used with 8 ah battery no problem about 0.5hr plus.

I notice is when using some attachments the Rotary Tool gets an annoying vibration. For example when I use the supplied Milwaukee cutting discs the tool gets a resonance or vibration at certain speeds. Feels like the tool will vibrate apart. I took the tool into Total Tools where I bought it from and they said this is normal. I've used a Dremel rotary tool and a cheap Dick Smith brand and they didn't vibrate at all. So I would say it is not normal. Also, there is a fair bit of play in the shaft, I can wriggle the shaft side to side, almost like there is a piece missing or like I said the build quality and design is missing something. Pretty annoying for a Milwaukee product to be honest.
Apart from that the tool is fine, I'm glad I went with a battery powered tool instead of a corded tool. Having it cordless is very handy. I bought the tool around 2019 and it is still going strong.

lawn, and the product hasn't let me down yet. I use the 9ah batteries in it, and get roughly 45 minutes of continuous use before running the battery down. My only gripe is the included guard is very large and heavy. I notice they have since changed this, so I have ordered the new smaller version of the guard.

Downside - I find the belt clip to be too tight to be able to use it as a belt clip - I just cannot get it on the belt (or pocket).
I actually own a second tool of the same model which stopped working. It was sent for repair and when it came back the work light was not working so had to be sent off again. About six weeks before the full working tool was back in my possession. Apart from paying $50, the tool was repaired as a warranty repair.

uncomfortable to use. If you’re using it for more than a few minutes it’s becomes quite painful to hold. The dust catcher that is attached also randomly opens itself and sawdust goes everywhere. A few design changes could go a long way!

60yo builder! so, yeah I've drilled a few holes in my day:) Kit was replaced under warranty. I declined and will not be using Milwaukee drills again. I hope Milwaukee recall ALL these kits!!!!!
