brands. It tracks people and animals without an issue. I now have multiple of these around my house. I only ever had an issue with one not connecting to bluetooth, but I bought it back to JB Hifi and it was replaced without question. Hard to beat for the price.

I am yet to experience what their customer service is like so unsure there, and unsure how long they will last, but at this price point I would be happy if I get 2 years out of it.

solar panel.

Funny enough, the sensor on v1 is much better than v2 as the current one seems a bit fiddlier. Also I've lost two additional sensor function such as pet and car with v2.

Overall, I think the product does what it's intended and for the price compared to well known brand such as Eufy, it is pretty decent.

There are others who have had bad experience with it, much like myself at the start but in the end it is working well.

I tried the 30days cloud storage which was good but decided to just use an internal storage. You can also get a Wifi Hub for more storage.

I also have a C100 (indoor camera) which also does the job for $29AUD on special from Amazon.

purchased another identical camera one year later for the main bedroom to keep an eye on baby who co-sleeps with me but goes to bed many hours before I do. Included in the box is the power supply and a bracket attachment. I use the bracket in the nursery mounting the camera upside down. In the main bed, it just sits in normal upright position on the bed post of the solid timber bed. Built quality is solid. Firstly, setting up the camera through its Android app is super easy. It connected to my home wi-fi very easily. Once putting the camera in position, it is easy to fine tune its position by tilting and panning via the app. The camera can be mirrored for upside down mounting. I do not use a memory card in the card slot. I set the cameras up in my home security camera system NVR to record on the main hard drive along with all the other cameras mounted around the house. ONVIF protocol in these Tapo cameras allow you to connect to any compatible systems - most open source systems these days are up to date with all these protocols. I can view the cameras on the Tapo app or use my whole house camera monitoring app to view all the cameras. The Tapo app offers more settings adjustment and personalisation. There are no ads in the app like cheaper similar cameras that I have set up for other people. The camera quality is very good. Whether bright light or in infra-red low light mode, the picture is detailed and well balanced with the HDR processing. The QHD resolution is plenty enough for these room cameras but I use 4k fixed cameras outside. There are alerts that pop up on my phone if the camera detects sound or movement so when baby cries or stands up in her cot, I get notified. Updating firmware when required goes very smoothly. I really like these cameras and would think the whole Tapo range would be great also, although I haven't tried any of the other cameras from the range.

Not ready for market. Buggy – This product isn’t ready for market. Purchased April 2022 from Amazon. Updated to latest firmware on day of installation. Running version 1.0.5… Read more

build 210823 Rel.61765n

Mine has locked up once, No vga/hdmi output, responded to pings, no VIGI app connectivity. Hard reboot restored operation.

Connected to 7 cameras. 3 TP-Link Tapo c210 indoor wifi cameras, and 4 POE dahuas. All working fine, all flawless when watching their RTSP streams from inside my LAN with VLC.

When the nbn falls over, and WAN goes bye bye, which is a very common occurrence in Australia, the VIGI NVR1008H falls over locally. It then drops LAN connectivity locally to all cameras, the hdmi output screen (to avoid any confusion) shows no connection to all my cameras, while I can still watch their RTSP streams on VLC. Come on! This is a fundamental flaw! It requires a reboot of the NVR1008H to restore LAN connectivity to cameras. Even the TAPO app still seamlessly regains connection to the TAPO C210 cameras (TP-Link consumer cameras btw) on WAN connection return, AND still connects to the cameras over LAN when WAN is down. Oh and the NVR1008H won’t talk to the C210’s properly either. Identifies as TP-Link cameras, but after a reboot of the NVR1008H it will not reconnect for love or money to the C210’s. Manually configured to onvif they will auto reconnect after a reboot.

The only thing I haven’t tried yet is adding a 4G backup modem and having PFSENSE seamlessly fall back to 4G on nbn failure to test.

Oh and no Lan web interface or mirroring the hdmi output over LAN. Even just a RTSP stream of the hdmi out would be enough. Clearly the development team haven’t used security devices in the real world.

The VIGI NVR1008H isn’t ready for market. Security devices need to be robust. This thing sure isn’t. DO NOT BUY.

I’m planning to use. They are actually quite small and unobtrusive which I really like. It means you can put them pretty much wherever you want and they never get noticed.

The sensitivity is excellent and I like being able to set the distance they operate depending on the spot I need to use them. So far I’ve been using the sensors for around 6 months and they’ve been going without an issues. I’m primarily using mine with the P100 & P110 Smart Plugs and also some of the smart globes. It means when I walk through the house at night, we can have lamps and globes switching on as we go. No more falling down the split level stairs in the dark!

completely new to security cameras, these comments are very much my first-time user impressions. Installation was straightforward, with all the necessary fixings included. I chose to position the camera separately from the solar panel to get better sun exposure, and that decision has paid off, the solar panel consistently keeps the battery close to 100% each day, which is genuinely impressive. Image clarity is solid and perfectly usable, though not exceptional. In low light, there can be some ghosting when capturing moving subjects, but it’s still clear enough for general security purposes. The pan and tilt functionality is a real highlight, allowing you to set up to eight preset viewing positions for quick access to your preferred angles. Motion-triggered recordings work well, and the AI-assisted pinch-to-zoom performs competently, particularly within about five metres of the camera. The auto-tracking feature does a reasonable job of following movement, though it’s not flawless. Playback is simple to operate, but this is one area where I feel improvements could be made. It can be tricky, and slow, to shuttle to an exact moment in a recording and pause precisely where you want to look for a closer inspection of what is going on. Night performance is strong. The infrared mode effectively turns night into day, delivering very good image quality. There’s also a spotlight feature on the camera that enhances nighttime footage further and produces clearer results. The Tapo app is very good and intuitive to use, in fact it is worth its own review. Overall, there’s a lot to like about this camera system. It offers a great set of features and reliable performance, and I am considering expanding my setup with the hub and additional cameras. While it’s not perfect, it delivers well on its promises and meets my needs with only minor areas for refinement. The photos that support this review have been resized, smaller, which may have also reduced the actual resolution you see.

Mechanics great, business model questionable – I have 4 model C110's (the upgraded version of the C100). As per (the good parts of the) previous review, the cameras have all met expectations.… Read more

I've had very few of the problems that the previous review described once I remembered to switch to using only the 2.4GHz band on the WiFi.

The cameras provide clear images, even in extremely poor conditions. The App provides a good range of options - I have a couple of rooms that are just storage so the "Arriving Home" turns off the non-storage cameras (leaving the storage cameras on) while "Leaving Home" turns all cameras on after a 5 minute delay for me to leave the house. The cameras need a 240 volt connection, which was my choice after realising how stressful it was to keep changing dead batteries in multiple (TV/fan/aircon/amp ...) remotes. So 5 stars so far.

BUT the business model makes a mockery of the product positioning itself as a (high quality) low cost option. The camera itself is around $45. Adding a 128 gB SD card adds only around $15. So $60 for a one-off cost of a security camera with virtually unlimited local storage.

The catch is that any one breaking in to steal is going to take the camera. So the only way for the camera to perform its function is by pushing the video to the cloud. And that costs $4.99 per month for the one camera. So a one-off of $60 per camera becomes a perpetual of (near) $60 per camera per annum.

Yes there are slight discounts for multiple cameras ($13 per month for 3 cameras instead of $15) and slight discounts for pre-paying annually ($49 instead of $60 for 1 camera) but the basic business model is sell cheap and get the buyer paying in perpetuity.

And .. yes the package includes smart extras with the Cloud doing processing on the video stream.

But (raw) Cloud storage is cheap. If even (say) 24 hours of storage was bundled with the camera I'd rate it 5 stars - and it would then be up to you whether the extra processing and longer retention was worth the cost to you. But with the product basically gutted of its main ability (to retain images of those breaking in), I'm hard put to even rate it at 2 stars.

imposed limitations, on what could be great cameras. To force people to use your cloud solution for any feature that CCTV cameras have normally built-in as standard is nonsensical. I can understand that there is a need for specific cloud solutions for such things as off-site storage. However, its laughable to expect customers to invest in CCTV camera’s when you are virtually extorting additional cash by holding back on the features the cameras have built in. Such features as Privacy Masking, AI/Person Detection & Motion Tracking are built into cameras hardware and do not require any cloud services. You are trying to mislead customers into to thinking these features require any cloud technology just so you can extract extra dollars! Sham on you TP-Link.

dropouts on Amazon for this one.

To cut to the chase, camera and software are good as is picture quality and night vision, but sound recording could be clearer.

Price for cloud is okay for one camera and goes up for each camera to a point where there’s like a bundle of 8 cameras or something I can’t remember better confirm yourself, I only have one it’s $3.99aud per month

I do find the software will lose the camera once a week(it’s actually everyday all day) or the camera will lose connection once a week requiring an unplug and replug.
