My kids originally received Acer Spin 3's at school and I thought it was super novel and versatile with its ability to flip over 360 degrees and built-in pen for writing and drawing. I do think that it is more than what I actually need at this point in time and I haven't even started to use all of its features, but I like it a lot! My previous laptop was literally falling apart, so I needed a new one ASAP and bought this one from Amazon.com.au because none of the Australian stores had any Spin 5's in the size I wanted. It is really light weight and just the right size - not too big to cart and not too small either. Image and video quality is also really good and I was quite impressed by that.

It also has Alexa built-in, and comes with a month free trial of Norton Security Ultra, as well as a few other free trials that one can make use of.

price, I estimate approximately 900$ to 700$. But for the price paid, this laptop has lasted and is still being used after almost 3 years with decent performance and reliable battery life for my requirements, oh, and I can't forget the smooth touchscreen and many useful ports. I use this laptop every day for school (6hrs) and after school (1.5 hrs), and it has definitely slowed down over time, but has remained completely usable. I am continuing to use this laptop even while writing this, and it performs perfectly while I'm working and completing assignments. One thing that has surprised me, is the fact that this laptop barely heats up except for when I used to play Fortnite. After 3 years, the battery has degraded slightly and I do need to charge it at the end of every day but this is after school and once I've finished my work so it's perfectly fine. If you wanted to know, the average battery life after 3 years from 100% and constant use with schoolwork and typing is around 4 hours. If I play a game such as Minecraft, the battery life will drop to about 2 - 3 hours. One thing I had a problem with was gaming. I mean this laptop wasn't built for it anyway so that's fine but I don't recommend this if you are a gamer. I have played War thunder with decently high graphics and around a smoothish 40 fps, but I played Fortnite for a few months and this laptop definitely didn't like that as the overall performance with Fortnite included a smooth 25 fps, pretty low graphics, and multiple crashes while playing. Minecraft Edu is another game I have experienced on this laptop and max render distance, max graphics, and other high settings have been effortlessly tackled by this laptop and provided me with smooth perhaps around 50 frames and very little lag. I have had almost no other problems except while playing Fortnite, and am continuing to use this laptop for both home and school. The one thing I'd change about this laptop would be the the fact that the keyboard backing thing is made of a plastic, but even this is helpful as it keeps the laptop from heating up because plastic won't conduct heat well so yeah. I will add to his comment every future problem I have, and recommend this laptop to you if require a low price laptop or you go to school or University and need to use it daily.

support, followed their triage to confirm the problem (3 keys not responding) and was asked to send it to them. They tested and said it had no problems, I persisted for them to try again but they continued to say it was fully functional. I was asked for a video however this was not a requirement during the initial triage and shows they do not trust my word to resolve the problem properly. It is currently in transit, so now I'll have a laptop with a known fault and am expecting de ja vu when it eventually fails again. I've previously been an advocate for Acer and most of my extended family have purchased their products based on my recommendations, but not any more.
