bread, is getting harder and harder. This model does toast better and it looks great. The only drawback is there is no lift feature which makes it less than ideal for bagel, crumpets and English muffins. It's such a common feature on other toasters that I had not even noticed that Smeg doesn't include it. Odd, considering its hefty price tag.
