The entire process of engaging a cleaner was seamless. My cleaner was punctual and did a great job. I appreciated that there was a follow up communication to check that I was happy with the job. I'd definitely go through this business again.

My cleaner was always friendly. I felt she lacked initiative. I think because my house was new to her.

Unsatisfactory telephone consultation – We needed a cleaner (or possibly cleaners) due to a home renovation and I decided to call this agency. I asked lots of questions and the consultant was most helpful - articulate, knowledgeable of the services the agency provides (and those it doesn't; more on that later), succinct, helpful and transparent in her answers to me. asked how much a 2 hour clean would cost in the Hobart area and I was readily told by the consultant that the cost to me would be $59. I then asked her how much of that $59 did Absolute Domestics receive - silence from the consultant. After a few seconds she stated that AD had a service fee but "it's not much", so I asked again how much does AD receive, to which she replied "it's about $19", to which I asked if it was about $19 or was it $19? To which she replied "it's $19." Now, what concerned me here was the way the consultant was extremely confident and had absolutely no hesitation in answering my other questions, but suddenly became tongue tied and was very reluctant to answer "that" question. Why would this be so? Of course clients pay a fee to AD; they have staff to pay after all! (and insurance for cleaners???) I also asked if I could deposit the $59 to a cleaners bank account and was quickly assured that I could. I then asked if I could deposit the $19 AD fee to AD's bank account and was told "we have an arrangement with the cleaner." I asked her again if I could deposit the service fee to AD's bank account and she then repeated - twice - "we have an arrangement with the cleaner." It was a bit like talking to a robot! I've used labour hire firms before who work along the same lines as AD, i.e. I paid a fee to hire an independent contractor (which AD's cleaners are) and I've always paid the labour hire company their fee separately to that of the contractor. Anyway, at the end of the day, a cleaner from AD was not going to be suitable for me because of the hours I needed a cleaner (commencing at 4pm for a 2-3 hour clean daily.) After that phone call, I decided that even if a cleaner would have been able to work the hours I needed, I would not have chosen AD to clean for me. The reason being is that I was very uncomfortable with the phone call; why was the consultant so reluctant to answer my question about the service fee? She was so upfront, knowledgeable and happy to answer all of my other questions, but really didn't like answering that one.

Also, the consultant informed me that if any damage was done in my home by the cleaner, that the cleaner would be required to pay the insurances excess, which is $500. However, the consultant then informed me that in order for any damage to be covered by the cleaner or AD, the cleaner would have to accept liability for the damage caused by them.
