The overall sentiment for Maid to Clean is overwhelmingly positive, with the vast majority of clients praising the thoroughness and professionalism of the cleaning teams. Customers frequently highlight the "extra touches"—such as folding towels or tidying unrequested areas—as a key differentiator. While the service is highly regarded for regular domestic cleans and specialised tasks like oven or carpet cleaning, there are rare but significant reports of inconsistencies regarding subcontractor quality, pricing transparency, and reliability for time-sensitive "end-of-lease" or "move-out" services.

Verdict
Maid to Clean is an excellent choice for regular domestic maintenance and specialised deep cleans, where their high standards and "extra mile" service are most evident. However, for time-critical end-of-lease services, consumers should be wary of higher-than-average pricing and ensure they provide a strict checklist to avoid the occasional inconsistencies found in subcontractor performance.
It took several cancellations and rescheulding to get a cleaner in this time around. However, they managed to get someone in for us and the communication around the process was clear and easy. A big thank you to Vishal Kumar who took the job at the last minute. He was very thorough and his attention to detail was great! He was diligent with all… Read more

Give them a big miss – I used this company for over 3 years. They used to be pretty good and I had fortnightly cleans. When Convid19 hit, my regular cleaner got caught up in the hype and didn’t want to clean houses anymore. I then had a passing parade of substandard cleaning crews turn up and had to regularly complain about how bad the cleaning was. Finally in 2022,… Read more
I was allocated an AMAZING cleaner. She lived locally to me and did a fantastic job. She was new to the company and had advised Maid to Clean that due to family commitments she only wanted local jobs. She ended up quitting bc MTC started sending her to jobs more than 50km away… They wouldn’t negotiate with her bc they were too short staffed. Lots of cleaners quit due to MTC treating them really poorly. After my amazing cleaner quit, I was back to the passing parade of terrible cleaners who either didn’t have a clue, showed up late or sometimes not at all. My final clean was the straw that broke the camels back. Young girl, possibly a student, turned up without products and spent two hours doing absolutely nothing. When she said she was ready to go, I came out of my office to walk her out and that is when I noticed that she had not touched the kitchen at all. There were coffee rings and crumbs on the bench and the sinks had not been touched. When I asked her what was going on, she said that she didn’t know that she had to clean the kitchen. [Content Removed]? When you get a cleaning service, the most important things are the bathrooms and the kitchen so how on earth did she think that she did not need to clean the kitchen?? When she left, I called the company. They pretty much said that they didn’t have anybody else in the area and they could not provide me a Cleaner any more. After over four years… I honestly wouldn’t use this company for your cleaning Service and also, if you are a cleaner, I would avoid working for them because they don’t treat you very well. Last I heard is that they were cashing in on NDIS jobs where they would get paid and because the clients weren’t paying them directly, they got away with doing really shoddy work. If you value your home and expect to get a good job done for your money, I would try and find a local Cleaner on Airtasker or similar. You will get a better job and it will be much cheaper.
Mihindu is an awesome Cleaner who goes over and beyond all I ask of him to do. Nothing is too much trouble for him I asked him to clean under our bed as we could not move the bed. He found so much dust and debris under the bed and he cleaned it up completely. Much to our delight!
Had a change of cleaner yesterday and May is incredible! Couldn’t be happier. And what a nice touch!

End of lease clean that cost $535 for four hours of cleaning – Maid to clean is the most expensive and worst end of lease cleaning service I’ve used in 20 years of renting. I’ve spent more time dealing with them than they actually spent cleaning. It cost $535 for a one bedroom apartment with carpet in the bedroom, not including windows or the balcony. Easily $150 more than I’ve paid for a similar job. I… Read more
chose to pay more for maid to clean because of their amazing reputation on product reviews and google and I wanted to make sure I could spend the day working, not managing an end of lease clean, but it’s pretty clear they put much more effort into managing their reviews than anything else.
Their booking form is confusing and didn’t work on mobile, but you don’t know until the near the end of the form. Ok, they’re cleaners, not web developers. Tried on desktop and worked eventually.
A day after I submitted the form, I get an auto email that sounded like my booking was confirmed. I reply, they say no, not yet, in a couple days. They get back to me after the weekend, a few days before I needed the clean and confirm. Every other cleaner I’ve dealt with confirms within 24 hours.
On the website they say they have honest pricing, that all you need to do is tell them how to access the property and they’ll pick up the keys. But that is far from the truth.
Their start time was sometime between 8-10am and I had to be there when they arrive, at a property I don’t live in anymore. I had to ask for them to call me 30 mins before arrival.
In morning, I get the call, get to property and one cleaner arrives at 9:40am. I help him find a parking spot. He tells me I have to pay for parking because he’s just a subcontractor and maid to clean don’t pay him properly and won’t reimburse him for the parking fee. I figure out the parking, help him take all his stuff up to the apartment. He gets started at about 10am. I leave and he tells me he’ll call me when he’s finished.
He calls me at midday and says he’ll be done in 30 mins. He started cleaning at 10am and he’ll be done at 12:30. I think maybe someone else showed up. I get there and it’s just been him the whole time. I’m shocked. He says have a look at the place. I have a quick look, but it is not my job to manage their subcontractors and he doesn’t even get that less than three hours cleaning in this situation isn’t going to be good enough.
He says he’ll start mopping the place, and he’ll be done in five minutes. It’s a big one bedroom and only the bedroom is carpet. Once again, shocked.
It’s Friday, I have work to get done and have to get the keys to the agent on Monday. I’ll deal with this when I have a couple hours spare on the weekend. I took some all purpose spray and a few cloths. I spent over an hour spot cleaning the place and probably could have spent another hour or two properly cleaning the place if I had the time and better cleaning products. Zero attention to detail. See the photos for a sample of their ‘premium five star’ cleanness.
I hand the keys over to the agent. The agent sends me about 20 photos of things that weren’t clean enough. Maid to clean were quite responsive in this part. Sent a cleaner to pick up the keys from the agent and mostly did the job. I don’t know how long they spent cleaning the place. Maybe an hour.
The agent gets back to me a couple days later. They’re still not happy with the walls in the entry or the oven and will charge me $170 to get their preferred cleaner to finish it to their standard.
So it’s cost me $535 + $170 and about eight hours of my time so Maid to Clean to do about four hours of cleaning. Moving is stressful and expensive enough without this rubbish.
Last email I got from them was a condescending copy and paste generic customer service email about its ‘important to us that you receive a high-quality service that meets your expectations.’ Which is infuriating when it’s been anything but.
My recommendation is to go direct to a cleaner, not this very expensive middle company that adds no value and can’t manage the standard of work of their subcontractors.
Update: Maid to clean sent a different person out, for two hours of free cleaning. In those 2 hours she vacuumed upstairs and downstairs and washed the hard floors. I wanted the shower in the ensuite cleaned properly (the other guy did the glass but not the tiles). This woman did the entire ensuite and left it gleaming. Seems that I was unlucky… Read more
the first time around.
Unfortunately the Queen of Clean is a very busy lady so I don’t know if she’s available on a regular basis.
Original review: The cleaner was supposed to arrive between 8 and 10. He arrived shortly after 10, without any text or phone call telling us his schedule.
I wanted my floors vacuumed thoroughly, the hard floors washed and the shower cleaned thoroughly because I have a bad back and these tasks cause back pain. (We only use one shower although we have 2, and we don’t use the bath.)
Hubby paid for a full house clean and told me that it didn’t matter how long he took, the cleaner was supposed to finish a set list of tasks. That’s why I did not complain when he was constantly on the phone, standing doing nothing or working very slowly, one handed, holding his phone to his ear with his other hand.
I resented his tone when I sat down on the couch, out of breath after rushing around picking up the dog bed, mats, cat toys etc so he could vacuum. He said “CAN I HELP YOU?” as if I was being inappropriate or offensive. It seemed that it was a private phone conversation and he was offended that I sat on my couch while he was talking on the phone in the same room.
He spent about an hour in the kitchen, standing still while talking on the phone or working slowly with one hand. I had already unpacked and restacked the dishwasher. It’s a small galley kitchen so wiping down the cupboard and benches doesn’t take long. He did some of that. Then, when he walked out of the kitchen, I quickly stepped in to do the half-sink-full of items that needed washing up so he wouldn’t waste more time in the kitchen.
In the end he vacuumed about half the downstairs. He did not vacuum the laundry, entry, kitchen or half the living room including around the dining table, coffee table, and a small trolley/side table on wheels holding some ICT equipment. He only vacuumed the powder room between the hallway and the wall of the powder room but not around the toilet nor behind the door. He didn’t vacuum the kitchen but he did wash the kitchen floor. He didn’t wash the living room (hard) floors where he hadn’t vacuumed. He spent about 5 or 10 minutes vacuuming upstairs so I’m not sure exactly where he vacuumed upstairs but dog hair under the bed and in the ensuite showed he didn’t do those areas. (Hubby had recently done a quick run around upstairs so it wasn’t too bad when the cleaner arrived.)
He did some dusting downstairs but not all and not well. He didn’t dust 2 dining chairs at all, nor the coffee table etc.
He cleaned the glass in the shower but NOT the tiled walls or floor of the shower. This was one of my ‘must do” tasks for a cleaner. In hindsight, the Maid to Clean list says they don’t do walls so maybe that includes not cleaning two walls of the shower? I don’t know.
He emptied the kitchen rubbish bin and left the full kitchen bin bag next to the bin then went upstairs. I took the bin bag outside before it could leak. A while later he brought bin bags downstairs and asked where the outside bin was. As I was in his way (the hallway is narrow and I was loading the washing machine in the “French” laundry) I said I’d take those bags outside.
He did NOT wash the floors of ANY wet areas upstairs and only washed about 1/4 of the hard floors downstairs. Then he stood watching the floor dry, that’s what he told me, so I opened the back door as wide as it would go to speed up the process. When he was satisfied that bit of floor was dry, he didn’t vacuum or wash the rest, he just packed up and left. I got the impression he thought being present for 3 hours fulfilled his obligations.
Some of the things he did not do that were on the list:
* make the bed
* there were no cobwebs so that doesn’t count
* dust and wipe skirting boards, windowsills and doors
* vacuum accessible areas under furniture like the dining table, tv unit, bed
* clean microwave
* vacuum/mop all accessible floors
As I said, the important tasks for me were vacuuming the floors, washing the floors, and cleaning the shower. He did PART of each, like vacuuming half the living room and washing one quarter of the living room; he cleaned the glass in the shower but not the walls nor the floor of the shower. He didn’t mop the upstairs wet areas and I don’t think he vacuumed them either.
Maid to Clean phoned the next day to enquire how it went. Hubby told them he wanted a different cleaner next time. They gave him a $20 discount. After I pointed out to hubby that the cleaner only cleaned the glass in the shower and dried soap was still visible on the tiles, hubby agreed to not give Maid to Clean another try. I just don’t want that kind of conflict.
The attached photo is of the floor under the TV unit, taken straight after the cleaner left. The original photo is time stamped.

Customer service at Maid to Clean is second to none, they are so good to work with. We set up a monthly clean and Lahiru did an outstanding job, I cannot thank him and maid to clean enough for their excellent service.
Follow-up · Lahiru continues to be amazing, he is so efficient and kind and the house always looks fantastic afterwards. I am so happy that our home is now under control!
My cleaner's first day – My cleaner arrived on time with a smile and plenty of eagerness. She did an amazing job in the bathroom, and the rest of the house was thoroughly cleaned too. I'm satisfied.
Follow-up · I discontinued her services after about 5 or so weeks as I found that she was not keen to do jobs such as cleaning skirting boards, and she spent an inordinate amount of time in the bathroom then having to rush through the rest of the house to complete her job on time. I thus preferred to do the cleaning myself. Since that time I have been cleaning my house.
I love this service. I was kept up to date in relation to the arrival of Chris. My kitchen cupboard doors and drawers that had not been cleaned for a long time are now super clean. Chris was a pleasure to have around and he made sure to get as much done as he could in the allocated time.
Follow-up · Chris comes to me every 2 weeks and I continue to be very happy with his service. He takes care of whatever needs a bit of extra attention and does a regular clean of bathroom the floors and dusting and he is a pleasure to have around

Careese has cleaned our house a few times already now and she has always done a great job, no complaints! She is very polite and takes her time to do whatever has been asked of her and more! She takes initiative to do other little things thats not even asked of her. For e.g, folding clothes lying on the bed. We really appreciate her cleaning our place. A big thank you to her!
Aditya was my cleaner. He was there to help me clean my neighbours house which hadn’t been cleaned for years. He did a great job considering he only had 3 hours. Thank you so much Aditya.

Terrible! I had a booking and on the day was told it would be delayed 2 hours then at the time when they were due they cancelled the clean. Would not use this company again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beware of this house cleaning company, nearly all reviews are either fake or bought as when you really go in depth you can see they are mostly overseas or interstate reviews which makes no sense for a Melbourne specific house cleaning business... My elderly mother had a service booked with maid to clean truly based on their reviews but after the… Read more
cleaners left the premises, we discovered that nothing was cleaned, my mother has cameras all inside her house in nearly every area showing the cleaners intentionally not cleaning areas that already "look clean" they stuck some stickers on the toilet paper and folded some bathroom towels and expect her to pay nearly $400 for a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom house when the cleaners left after 45 minutes..
The cleaners said they were students and could not speak english properly, seems like this company takes advantage of these inexperienced students from overseas and lies to customers about professional experienced cleaners.
Save yourself the hassle and dont be bothered getting yourself scammed, my own elderly mother who is 72 of age cleans the house better than "2 professional house cleaners" from the highest rated cleaning company in melbourne.
Do not trust them, I will be taking this report to consumer affairs as well.
Cleaning was difficult to organise, they cancelled many times before a cleaner came. The cleaning was fast and rough and cleaner English was not communicating. Won't use ever again bad cleaning experience.
