buyer beware – The pool cleaner does a good job most of the time, especially with fine dust. But repairs are nightmare. I have had to send it to Waterco in Sydney several times. Each time it took them 2-3 MONTHS!!!! to repair it. And even this took multiple phone calls. So frustrating. I would never buy one again and I regret recommending it to a friend. My… Read more

advice would be to get another brand, not Admiral, mainly because the company seems to be incompetent in their maintenance and client dealings.

Great cleaner - Very Bad WATERCO Service – Unit cleaned the pool great. Cord started to get worse tangling up all the time. After 18months it would go around in circles, sent it in to be fixed, Watercolour had it 4 months before they returned it. Came back and did exactly the same, their service is so disgraceful I will not purchase anything from them again. Overall I wouldn't recommend buying anything from WATERCO  Show details

This perfect cleaner – IT is a great cleaner. I have the cleaner with the remote control. I would recommend it to anyone. Just remember to get your water balanced once a month. I also paid to get the new power cord with the swivel to stop the twisting of the cord. I read the other reviews not shore they were given the correct information on how to care for Admiral… Read more

Best investment ever!!! – I've had my Admiral cleaner for about 12 months now. I've been a pool owner for 8 years and previously used a kreepy crawly cleaner which would constantly stop cleaning because leaves and nuts would get lodged on the diaphragm. But not with the Admiral! 3 hours and it cleans the pool perfectly. It cleans all of the steps and sucks up even the… Read more

largest leaves. It filters the water too which means it captures all of the minute debris as well. It saves me soooo much time and electricity. It's very easy to clean and the internal bag holds a very large amount of leaves etc. I can't believe I didn't buy one many years ago. I recommend it anyone. Thanks Admiral!

Garbage for the money – Personal opinion, but just don't buy one. They fail after you've paid out serious money. Seemingly good to start off with, but what I regard as cheap engineering and construction tells after time. My main regret was recommending this piece of rubbish to a friend before it dumped its guts.  Show details

Buy another product!! – We've had our Admiral Cleaner for two and a half years. Did a reasonable job of cleaning the pool but was never able to lift it out of the pool without some of the bits going back in. The cord tangling was always a problem and getting worse as time went on. The whole thing has now packed up and the servicing people say there is water in the… Read more

motor and corrosion hence it no longer works. I am not prepared to pay the extortionate amount they have quoted for the replacement motor. I will look for a more reliable cleaner with a swivel in the cord too!!

I would definitely NOT recommend this product.

Waste of money – Unit worked well for just over 2 years ... then packed up. Outside of warranty. Repairs were to be $1200. Waterco would only give a 12 month warranty. Decided the unit should go in the bin. Would not recommend to anyone. Clearly Waterco do not back their product.  Show details

Good when it worked, but had some dramas over the years – Seems to pick up most debris, but not the very, very fine stuff (although sometimes I just needed to put the filter bag through the wash). But like others it keeps breaking down. I was lucky I got the caddy with mine and the cable wound around it to keep it untangled. My problems didn't start for some time. Over many years: Tracks (twice),… Read more

pump/motor (three times), cable (once), power supply (three or four times). I've been lucky to have a pool maintenance guy that I'm dealing with for out-of-warranty repairs / replacements who seems quite industrious in getting bits and pieces for it. I don't know how long it will last I think I'll be stuck with using second hand or refurbished parts or just throw it out as the rubber/plastic holding the filter bag is now falling apart too. But what else is there that cleans as well (but isn't so poor on product part quality)?

Waste of Money! – This pool cleaner goes back and forth (only for 1 meter) for the whole 2 hours. An absolute waste of an upgrade from the normal cleaner offered to us when purchasing our pool. You need to take it to the maufacturer to be cheched and this is bad service. STAY AWAY from it!  Show details

waste of money – I like many others had my admiral cleaner for 2 yrs when it just stopped. Had the power cord replaced. Worked for a month and then stopped again. Just been told water in electronics and fixing will cost the same as buying new but different brand. Feel so stupid i wasted the money and listened to swimart who recommended it.  Show details

Worst product we have ever purchased – We have had this product for 3 years. IT has been in for repairs 3 times. Each time we have to fight to get it repaired under the warrantee (which it was) Now parts such as the power supply is broken this will mean another 2 months with the repairer. So frustrating for such an expensive product.  Show details

Admiral Piracy!! – I purchased the Admiral robotic pool cleaner on recommendation of the pool builder as part of my new pool package. Worst advice ever! Back to the warranty repairer for a couple… Read more

more weeks. Back in the pool, stopped working again after a day or two. Back to the warranty repairer who threw his hands in the air and gave me a new one, but backdated the warranty to the purchase date of the original unit. You guessed it!!........This ones given up the ghost now and fortunately for the dealer, just a smidge outside the warranty expiry. Won't ever be darkening their doorstep again or even recommending the pool builder.

Cord tangles, gets stuck – Wouldn't recommend buying - the cord gets so tangled it would only clean the first half of our pool, would go over the same spot & miss where the leaves were, the bag was difficult to clean, heavy to lift out of the water, and would often get stuck on the surface & not dive down to the floor. Ours broke after 3 years, not worth repairing  Show details

Great cleaner – Had the unit 12 months never had any problems it cleans the pool as it should, yes the cord can be a bit of a problem but not enough to bag the unit. November 2016 praising the unit, it is two years old and packed in, it is in the repair shop now waiting to be told what is wrong and how much it is going to cost. This is ridiculous a unit costing $1000 and only lasts two years I hope Waterco are looking at there disaster.

May 12th 2018 Update: Absolute Crap

Had it for one year everyday there was something wrong. At one year it stopped and would not go the dealer wanted $750 for repairs!! it went in the bin. Do not buy one you will regret it every day. The best thing was the dealer said they had not had any problems with the model, I referred him to here.

Far too much money for what it does – Spends too much time floating trying to get to the bottom of the pool. The motor has just given out same as everyone else after two year and the handle snapped off when taking out of pool. Which I read the reviews before spending so much money on something that never really worked that well.

Crap Pool Cleaner – Don't waste your money.. 0 out of 10. Lasted only 2 years!!! Cord gets tangled, The muck it sucks up comes out of cleaner and back into pool when you lift cleaner out of Pool. Buy another Brand!!! Shop around and read reviews before buying!! Good Luck... Happy Shopping. :-)

Same as others good when working but after 2 years it is not working and expensive repair – It was a good cleaner and I was happy but I expect it to last longer than two years. I am now up for replacement so will look at other options. I had also noticed some of the screws starting to rust. I would not recommend this item for purchase.

Only just wortth the price – The main problem with this machine is its cable which keeps knotting and kinking badly however well you look after it. The motor is average and will last about 2.4 years. Maddeningly, it spends half its time climbing up the walls whilst it misses all the leaf litter on the floor. Eventually, after about 2 hours it will clean all the pool (12 metre… Read more

Total waste of money – My Admiral pool cleaner is the worst pool cleaner I have ever owned . It doesn't work like the video said it would , on the surface the fan runs constantly so it spends half an hour on the surface and won't sink , it circles the filter jets , ties the cord in knots and is a total waste of money . Do not buy a nightmare like I have .

Absolute Rubbish - Avoid it – This unit is cheap and nasty avoid it like the plague. Electrics break down constantly. They want $600 to replace a 12V power pack. Unit is not even 2 years old. Extremely disappointing. Hopefully this forum will deter others

Disappointing – had it 3 weeks and concur with many of the reviews on this site already. Cheap and nasty. Clips that hold the bag in place have broken already and cable is constantly a tangled mess. No issues with cleaning performance as yet but only 3 weeks old and judging by other comments - only a matter of time.

Rubbish – I have had my Admiral for about 3 years now, and it has spent more time at the place of purchase getting repairs than in my pool. We have replaced numerous parts at considerable expense and after breaking down again today I will be trashing it and purchasing a different brand. I would appreciate any advice on what to get.

Waste of money – Have just read other reviews and made me feel a little better, im not the only shmuck that wasted my money on this piece of rubbish. The concept behind a robotic cleaner is sound, but this company Waterco seems like they have gone out of their way to produce the cheapest piece of junk possible, its laughable its so bad, I have had 3 service calls… Read more

under warranty (new cord, new motor x 2) don't get me started on how time consuming and difficult it was to organise these service calls. And now to top it off 2 weeks after warranty has expired the impeller at the top of the unit broke, and the geniuses at Waterco don't sell this cheap $2.00 plastic fan as a stand alone part it has to be purchased as a whole new motor for $650.00, I couldn't believe the guy was serious, was also after new tracks and they were also ridiculously priced, needless to say I didn't but the spare parts. Was incredibly lucky to find one on the side of the road waiting for council clean up and able to scrounge spare parts. But soon as mine breaks again which I know wont be far off, thats where mine will end up waiting in the street to be thrown out with the rest of the junk. Stay well clear of this product and this company. Good idea. Could see how it would work. Everything very badly made product, with terrible after sales service.

Great when it works, terrible support from Waterco (3 motors failed in 2 years) – My Admiral Plus worked like a treat for the first 12 months (I came from a Kreepy Krauly) in our heavily-treed area. The sorry saga goes like this: 12 months...fails to run its full (~2 hour) cycle - as little as 5 minutes - unit wheelstanding all the time, rubber tyres worn out from wheelstanding...motor replaced under warranty 21… Read more

months...impeller self destructs, replacement impeller self destructs, another impeller fitted

23 months...replaced pump fails again and is replaced under warranty ('water incursion'), but only after 3-4 weeks due to Waterco staff being on holidays

25 months...the old 5-minute cycles again! Unit under examination by Waterco again. Brilliant at picking up gum leaves and small twigs and worth the money when it is reliable. Not reliable

Brilliant - for a while – Purchased my cleaner (originally branded "Nitro") around 2 years ago and apart from the tangling power cable, it was brilliant! I did all the right things with care and maintenance, such as not leaving it in the pool when not in use, washing it down after each use, folding the cable, and storing it in the shade and out of the weather and despite… Read more

all of that it died after bi-weekly use over around 2 years! The suction/fan motor still works but the gearbox failed, and the cost of repairs by WaterCo now that their quote's finally been provided by the Dealer after nearly 6 weeks is simply ridiculous; "around $800" as an estimate!

I've now reached the conclusion that considering the cost of the various robotic cleaners, it's cheaper to have the local pool shop come out and clean the pool every 2 weeks. Good with leaves and twiggs Unreliable

Waterco rubbish – I bought this from Waterco as they are an Australian company and I like to support Australian companies where I can. My cleaner had trouble properly covering all parts of the pool leaving some areas OK and other areas like nothing had been done. It never really worked well and then it broke. New parts are eye watering expensive! Beware! Never worked properly

The most rubbish Cleaner of all time – This is the most rubbish pool clearer ever to be invented. Pity you can't click less than 1 star - it is not worth of a star - 1 star is like saying - could try harder. This cleaner is so useless that is is a star vacuum! I have had this cleaner for 3 seasons, and it has never been useful Firstly the internal filter bag has large 'flow'… Read more

holes in it so much of the waste is in the cleaner body and pours back into the pool once you lift it out

Secondly it only 'turns' one direction so the cable gets so badly tangled you have to spend ages untangling it after each use

Thirdly the internal filter bag is so mounted so that as it fills with debris it is dislodged from it's clips and so 'ALL' of the waste goes into the body of the clearer and pours back into the pool!

I have had it back to the manufacturer soooooo many times. The kicker is that the manufacturer said I need to vacuum my pool before putting it in.

In other words all it is useful for is wandering about the pool, after it is clean.

If you have no more than 3 recently fallen leaves in the bottom of the pool, by all means buy it, otherwise you would be better off buying scuba gear a going to the bottom with a bucket and shovel for it's effectiveness.

There are no redeeming features don't waste your money - you have been warned! The box was easy to carry Expensive, Poor warranty, useless design

Efficient little [censored word removed] – Bought the Admiral from my Swimart, and it is a good little cleaner. Had a 3-speed pump installed last autums, and found out after my old cleaner wouldn't work at the low setting. Did a bit of research on the robot machines, and got the Admiral. Works great, and they say I'll save money. We'll see. Fast, doesn't get stuck.

I'm an Admiral believer – I'm glad I didn't read this before I bought my Admiral Ultra.
