terrible experience with Agoda I tried to do a reservation at a hotel in Bali, unfortunately Agoda charged me twice and did not complete the reservation. I contacted customer service and the attendant said that it was not charged even though they sent proof of my account. It's been almost 20 days and no solution. I don't recommend Agoda to anyone, terrible experience. I'm trying to resolve it through my bank.

It was easy to setup an account and away I went with bookings. I was able to get a couple of discounted rooms so "woohoo" I thought - this is fabulous. It wasnt til I checked my bank statement and saw the foreign currency exchange fee that I realised I was being charged in some currency other than AUD. I engaged with the Agoda contact line and after a drawn out experience like pulling teeth they finally advised me they charged in USD. After finally working that out, I told them no good to me - no point making a saving with Agoda then paying it back to my bank in forex fees. Couldn't find a way to close account in my profile so onto support again. Please complete the form attached and send it back to us they said. Sent it back and they rejected it because I put "Steven" in the name field instead of "Steve" - worlds apart of course! Corrected that and sent it back. Form rejected again because I ticked more than one reason for wanting to close account - nothing on form saying you can only select one. Fix the form I said. Corrected it and sent it back again. Silence...checked next day and account still operational. Contacted them again and asked why they had not completed my request. Advised by "Agoda Legal Department" that in accordance with Singapore law they have to leave my account active for one year. But Agoda decides to add another 120 days onto that so my data (incl credit card details) will kept in their database for 15 months or so. Let's hope they dont get hacked and data compromised. Nah...wait, that'll never happen...right - such a professional well managed company like Agoda will have robust IT policies and procedures in place...right? Besides, its not like you hear about companies getting hacked and client personal details being leaked .... often...right? It feels a bit like that old Eagles song Hotel California "...you can checkout but you can never leave...". Beware anyone before you hand over your personal details to incompetents like off shore Agoda! Absolutely appealing service
My partner and I booked tickets for sea life they took the money and we received an email to say that an error had occurred contacted them and they said noone was available to talk to us and to email some email adress and never got a response so would highly recommend not using this company

I have a flight credit with them, they said they can't access it, oh I call Qantas and say they should be able to access, oh look they can access it now but they say its expired, I call Qantas and they say the flight credit doesn't expire, oh look they can see the flight credit didnt expire now, they ask me for flights, they say the flights are unavailable, i send them a screenshot of the flight and still has availability and oh look they will look into ot for me! Weeks go by and they did nothing, they are crooks

Service is an absolute joke
They took money out of my account , sent me an email they couldn't provide the service , then requested bank statements with sensitive information to locate the funds. 30 days later , they are still holding onto my funds. Emails get me nowhere and their customer service goes around in circles. Disgusting service.

I am a loyalty customer with Agoda. Agoda cash reward used to be expired within 2 years than it was reduced down to 1 year. I was not aware of Agoda Cash expired less than a month during the month I am still travelling. It is hard to contact Agoda if I completed the trip. Therefore, it is the only platform to share my experience. This makes Agoda cash pretty much worthless that giving less time for me to plan. I hope someone from Agoda take my case into consideration and reinstate my Agoda cash.

Trying to claim the cashrewards from Agoda was simply impossible. The website shows that the cashrewards has been "requested". The customer service staff would tell you that the cashrewards had been processed. Except that I haven't seen a dime from Agoda.
And Agoda wouldn't provide proof that the cashrewards had in fact been processed at their end, and instead requests that you send them the bank account statements for them to verify. And guess what, they are not interested in helping you out, because they know there is nothing you can do to

And this is on top of these random verifications that Agoda can initiate while you are travelling - sometimes with limited/no access to the internet and if you do not respond within a tight timeframe, your booking will be cancelled. Non existent customer service
We stayed in a disgusting place in Melbourne with bed bugs (Arrow on Swanston). We contacted Agoda for help, none provided . They stole our money and we had to go somewhere else after 2 nights. Hotel promised to refund 3 nights but they never did.

I made two booking with Agoda, for hotel in Seoul.
Before proceeding with payments through Agoda, I spoke with a staff from Agoda Customer Experience Group. She checked and gave me the total payment amounts in Aud, but when I paid, the amounts turned out to be much higher on my credit card.

I booked accomodation and received confirmations, so obviously then booked my flights! which are non refundable. A week later they emailed to say the accomodation wasn’t honoured by the hotel. I then spent all day on the phone literally 5 hours chasing a refund for accomodation they never honoured.
They then said it would take 30days to get the refund! Or alternatively receive Agoda cash on my account which i can only use with their hotels!!
Totally disgusting ethics and service.
All while listening to inauthentic apologies for my frustrations.. are you for real.

I could not rate Agoda worse!
We booked flights from Canberra to Brisbane and then back.
Agoda double charged us (over $1800) and them proceeded to only book the return flights.
After almost a month they refunded one of the charges but the "customer service team" cannot seem to understand that they have charged us for a service they did not provide.
I would never use them again and strongly recommend nobody else does!

If you are travelling oversea and going to book with Agoda best pay on the same day and cancel later. Their FX rate is ridiculous. Confirm my payment today,1 AUD is around 96 yen but their exchange rate is 1 AUD to around 87 yen. They probabaly make good money from FX.

I am currently on hold waiting for your rep. christopher to come back with a resolution. I was up until midnight speaking with Brendan. I received a refund. I then went to use the agoda cash on booking the tickets and realised I could not do this on a refundable ticket. This created a "Ghost Ticket" their words. Which was holding the agoda cash, so I could not finalize my booking. The prices were going up, and their was only one room left that suited my family. I wanted to confirm my booking. I was told to look at other websites !?!? I did and they were more expensive. I asked for compensation since they could not guarantee my booking and could not remedy the agoda cash situation until the next day. I asked for this to be emailed to me which I have received. I then booked with another site which took all of 5 minutes. Their booking was the same and non refundable. In the email it said that they will rectify the agoda cash situation, It did not state that they will re-instate the Ghost Booking. I was lead to beleive that this could not be finalized. I woke up this morning hoping to see the agoda cash back in my account. Only to find that they have confirmed the ghost booking and I now have 2 non refundable bookings with 2 different companies! I want a refund! Back into my account! not your agoda cash!
They have now charged me the full amount for this booking and taken money. unauthorised through my bank account. I always use paypal. This is Theft unethical. I have also been sent an email saying that this new Ghost booking that they finalized without my consent. That was not confirmed by me They have not used the agoda cash. THIS IS THEFT!!!!

This was their email to me before I went to bed last night. It does not state that they would confirm a non refundable full price booking, that was not confirmed. I have had an Agoda account for some time. My email provider is ceasing hosting and so I will have a new email. I have tried to change it in Agoda but there seems no way to do that, in fact the advice given is to open a new account however I have gold VIP status and will be platinum next month. How can I change email and retain status. It seems unfair i should loose it. On that note when did Agoda cash go to a one month expiry, makes it worthless for the vast majority of people.

Hope Agoda Team read my question too! Tried to chat from the platform they referred but I don't get any satisfaction answer.
I made a booking at Hotel Michael Sentosa, Singapore at the lowest price. It says on Agoda free cancellation but at the email says it's Not refundable. Then I download Agoda App and found a cancellation policy "this property allows 24 hrs free cancellation". While in my bank account its successfully debited tho I cancelled it.
