had to make a claim to date. Finally, I have used AHM for travel insurance for maybe the 3 or 4 years running when I have needed.travel insurance.

 Follow-up  · I cannot fault the Customer Service at AHM - it is always prompt and to the point. Also, at my age, 85, getting any cover can be difficult so I am glad I have AHM and, although an Annual Cover is not inexpensive, I always get 12 months cover as I like to travel internationally and it means I can dash off on short notice knowing that I am covered "automatically"!

Used NIB travel insurance as I had my health fund with them and they offered a discount. Overseas trip to Greece where the public hospital system is terrible and yes had to make a claim. home to Australia. Did everything by the book and kept every piece of evidence and took photos in the hospital. Contacted the assistance line and advised them of updates and what was happening. I paid for everything upfront as they were going to reimburse me right. Then the battle was on and it took 3 months of me not ever giving up as they demanded more and more evidence. But I won, so never give up as they try to wear you thin. I even had to call the hospital in Athens and talk to the doctor so he could send the correct wording in his report as they did not accept his wording. In the PDS which i read like a bible, it did not say that the doctor had to follow special wording, I mean come on, it really does take all your patience and time but yes I was paid out nearly 10,000. My advice is never accept no from them the first time and keep battling.

waiting 10 days with no payment or communication, I called to follow up and was told there had been issues on their end but the payment would be processed that day and I’d receive it within 2–3 days.

When I called back that Friday (still no payment), I spoke to the same representative who then said she’d received an email right after our last call saying the payment actually wouldn’t be made until the end of the month.

The whole process has been frustrating, unprofessional, and poorly communicated. After being a loyal customer for over a decade, this experience has really changed how I view AHM. I’ll likely be switching my health insurance to a company that’s more reliable and transparent.

related health coverage for our China tour, on which we will be spending 5 nights on a riverboat cruise. The policy we took out through our credit card did not cover any covid health related problems that may occur for the duration of this 5 night cruise. We were able to insure for only the health component through AHM which means we will be covered for any health problems that may occur, for our whole trip. We have not used this insurance company for travel before, but will consider it if we travel again, especially if we are faced with a similar situation in the future. It was more expensive to use AHM to take out coverage for everything, than using our credit card insurance, but cheaper to add on the health cover which includes covid cover on the riverboat cruise.

They are asking for a review. The online process was quite simple and straight forward at a reasonable price. This process I would rate 5/5. Have not travelled yet and obviously not claimed for anything (and hopefully wont have to) so hard to write a review. The real test for any insurance is how they respond to genuine claims and that awaits to be seen if needed. Show details

get a bigger discount than 10%. I have used Ahm travel insurance many times before when traveling overseas. I have not had to make a claim but on one occasion they were very helpful and easy to contact when my flight was cancelled.

cancel the policy. Interesting also that the multi-trip policy is at a lower premium that just one trip policy which we also thought was odd given that there is more exposure on a multi trip policy that just a single trip.

This is a scam. I paid for travel insurance, my flight was cancelled without any warning due to a cyclone, Jetstar didn’t notify us that the flight was canceled until after the scheduled take off. I needed to be home asap due to an emergency. I paid for another flight. This travel insurance provider refused to cover that as they only cover… Read more

“unforeseeable flight cancellations.” If a last minute cancellation with no notice provided due to a natural disaster isn’t unforeseeable then idk what to tell you.

Additionally, I called their customer service team. They promised to escalate this to their manager who would call back. 48 hours later, no call. This is a scam, pathetic customer service. DO NOT USE

I wouldn’t recommend AHM Travel Insurance to anyone. When I needed support due to an unexpected situation, I quickly learned that AHM has its own narrow interpretation of what counts as “unforeseen circumstances" and it didn’t align with the reality of what travel insurance is supposed to protect you from. Even worse is their policy around… Read more

emergency return flights is unrealistic. If you can’t find a seat in the exact same fare class as your original booking even in a medical emergency you’re not covered. Emergencies don’t wait for matching fare classes. Their policy is reassuring on paper, but in practice it is unrealistic and they are more focused on finding reasons not to pay than actually helping. Look around........

Scam! Avoid at all costs! Refuse to pay out claims! Unhelpful Customer Service from Ganasen. Paid for AHM Travel Insurance for my recent trip to America. connecting flight. This resulted in us be roughly $1500 out of pocket.

We weren't too stressed knowing we had paid for travel insurance so we covered for these events. We submitted our detailed claim with receipts over a month ago with AHM stating they'll process it within 10 business days.

AHM continues to ask for irrelevant details such as other flights which weren't related to the cancellation and have now asked for a reason from the airline why the flight was cancelled.

Why does a reason for a flight cancellation change the outcome?

I would like to particularly call out Ganasen from the Travel Insurance- Claims Department. He is extremely aggressive, unfriendly and unhelpful.

I would not recommend AHM Travel Insurance to anyone. At this point they owe us $1500 and are withholding it.
