home to Australia. Did everything by the book and kept every piece of evidence and took photos in the hospital. Contacted the assistance line and advised them of updates and what was happening. I paid for everything upfront as they were going to reimburse me right. Then the battle was on and it took 3 months of me not ever giving up as they demanded more and more evidence. But I won, so never give up as they try to wear you thin. I even had to call the hospital in Athens and talk to the doctor so he could send the correct wording in his report as they did not accept his wording. In the PDS which i read like a bible, it did not say that the doctor had to follow special wording, I mean come on, it really does take all your patience and time but yes I was paid out nearly 10,000. My advice is never accept no from them the first time and keep battling.

waiting 10 days with no payment or communication, I called to follow up and was told there had been issues on their end but the payment would be processed that day and I’d receive it within 2–3 days.

When I called back that Friday (still no payment), I spoke to the same representative who then said she’d received an email right after our last call saying the payment actually wouldn’t be made until the end of the month.

The whole process has been frustrating, unprofessional, and poorly communicated. After being a loyal customer for over a decade, this experience has really changed how I view AHM. I’ll likely be switching my health insurance to a company that’s more reliable and transparent.

Consultant was excellent - easy to understand, patient, and knowledgable. He guided us through the whole process. Much more helpful than anyone else we spoke to whilst trying to find a solution to our problem. related health coverage for our China tour, on which we will be spending 5 nights on a riverboat cruise. The policy we took out through our credit card did not cover any covid health related problems that may occur for the duration of this 5 night cruise. We were able to insure for only the health component through AHM which means we will be covered for any health problems that may occur, for our whole trip. We have not used this insurance company for travel before, but will consider it if we travel again, especially if we are faced with a similar situation in the future. It was more expensive to use AHM to take out coverage for everything, than using our credit card insurance, but cheaper to add on the health cover which includes covid cover on the riverboat cruise.

The AHM representative was very efficient & able to cover off all of my concerns re the upcoming travel. Unfortunately as I completed the travel insurance purchase direct with an AHM representative I missed out on using my 15% Birthday discount by not completing the policy application on line. Show details

Price is a little excessive for the cover given, particularly for the over 80 category. Set up was a little complex in that some details needed to be entered twice. I find it odd that I'm asked to submit a review now when my travel won't start for another 2 weeks! I buy a 12 month cover so that I don't have to think about Insurance if & when I decide to travel, especially at the age of 85! Touch wood I haven't had to make a claim to date. I have booked ahm travel insurance several times over the past three years. The on-line booking process is easy to follow and the quotes seem to be good value for money. I have never had occasion to make a claim so I cannot rate their response to customers with regard to claims. Show details

This is a scam. I paid for travel insurance, my flight was cancelled without any warning due to a cyclone, Jetstar didn’t notify us that the flight was canceled until after the scheduled take off. “unforeseeable flight cancellations.” If a last minute cancellation with no notice provided due to a natural disaster isn’t unforeseeable then idk what to tell you.

Additionally, I called their customer service team. They promised to escalate this to their manager who would call back. 48 hours later, no call. This is a scam, pathetic customer service. DO NOT USE

emergency return flights is unrealistic. If you can’t find a seat in the exact same fare class as your original booking even in a medical emergency you’re not covered. Emergencies don’t wait for matching fare classes. Their policy is reassuring on paper, but in practice it is unrealistic and they are more focused on finding reasons not to pay than actually helping. connecting flight. This resulted in us be roughly $1500 out of pocket.

We weren't too stressed knowing we had paid for travel insurance so we covered for these events. We submitted our detailed claim with receipts over a month ago with AHM stating they'll process it within 10 business days.

AHM continues to ask for irrelevant details such as other flights which weren't related to the cancellation and have now asked for a reason from the airline why the flight was cancelled.

Why does a reason for a flight cancellation change the outcome?

I would like to particularly call out Ganasen from the Travel Insurance- Claims Department. He is extremely aggressive, unfriendly and unhelpful.

I would not recommend AHM Travel Insurance to anyone. At this point they owe us $1500 and are withholding it.

one feel as if I am about to die. The specialists know a hell of a lot more than the nurses or whoever and would surely state for me not to travel if they were concerned with my condition. A very painful experience getting travel insurance and a ridiculous premium being charged for a 2 week trip to India. AHM have not done me any favours.

Lauchlan was very professional and had our travel insurance set up in a few minutes. We needed add on cover for motorbikes and he set it up very quickly.
