 AI reviews summary

Overall sentiment for ReadySet Insurance is overwhelmingly positive, primarily driven by highly competitive pricing and a streamlined digital application process. Many customers highlight that the premiums are significantly lower than major competitors, particularly for seniors and those requiring cruise or medical coverage. While the vast majority of feedback is based on the initial purchase experience, a successful claim for a lost item suggests efficient claims handling.

Pros
  • Competitive Pricing: Frequently cited as the most affordable option on the market, with users noting significant savings compared to other insurers, especially for seniors and group bookings.
  • User-Friendly Website: The online application and medical screening processes are praised for being intuitive, quick to complete (often under 10 minutes), and transparent.
  • Exceptional Customer Support: Staff members (specifically Ash and Maddison) are repeatedly commended for being professional, patient, and proactive in assisting with queries or policy amendments.
  • Comprehensive Coverage Options: Users appreciate the clear side-by-side comparison of policy tiers and the inclusion of specific activities, such as motorcycling or snow sports, without excessive surcharges.
Cons
  • Premium Loading for Medical Conditions: Some users expressed disappointment at the price increase or additional premiums required for common, well-managed conditions like hypertension or cholesterol.
  • Website Technical Issues: Occasional reports of the online system freezing during payment, difficulties navigating the medical screening section, or discrepancies between age and date of birth fields.
  • Restrictive Eligibility: A few instances where users were denied cover due to specific visa statuses (e.g., bridging visas) or age limits for annual multi-trip policies (over 75s).
  • Aggressive Review Requests: Recurring complaints regarding the automated system requesting reviews too early, often months before the user has even commenced their travel.
Verdict

ReadySet Insurance is an excellent choice for travellers seeking high-value, low-cost coverage through a modern and efficient interface. While most feedback is limited to the "set and forget" purchase stage, the company's strong customer service and competitive rates for seniors make it a compelling alternative to traditional insurers.

It was easy to complete the online application. Our medical issues were among those listed so no need for a formal medical assessment. Cost was competitive with other providers. This is the second time we have used ReadySet Insurance. But the true test of any insurance policy/company is if you ever need to claim - hopefully we won't need to test this. Show details

Excellent price for both my trip to Japan with 6 family members and my trip to Bali with my husband. The cheapest insurance policy i've got yet, and I didn't chose the cheapest, I went for the middle policy. Show details

Stumbled accross ReadySet Insurance while looking for travel insurance for a senior couple. Rates with the big travel insurance companies for travel in Australia were rediculous, so gave ReadySet a try. So easy to apply online, and very competitive rates. So far, first class. Show details

Price was great and it was very easy to book on the website. Have not made a claim yet. Insurance companies are great until you have to make a claim. We will have to wait and see otherwise i would recommend. Show details

After checkout for travel in Sept '26, the online system took me back to complete payment, resulting in duplicate payment for same policy. I immediately phoned and at first was requested a snap shot of the duplicate payments, that was not possible as it did not appear on my credit statement. Later it was determined, two payments generating two… Read more

too much hassle in policy extension by a non travelling family member who initially paid the premium and was mentioned as an emergency contact. How can a travelling person make a call to Australia from a remote area with bad internet connection? Making it difficult to extend the policy means we should consider using another insurer to cover a new policy!? Show details

I am travelling with my family; wife and 2 young adult children (early 20's). My inquiries uncovered that many insurance providers would requie me to purchase 2 separate insurance packages as given my kids are returning on a separate time line, family cover does NOT apply (must travel with the insured person 100% of the time). This 'companion'… Read more

cover with ReadySet is perfect. It provides that your companions need only travel with you for 75% of the travel time away. 2 separate insurance purchases vs 1. You do the math!!! Great also that their cover is very broad and importanly is uncapped in regards to emergency medical treatment. I did need to speak to a customer service person to clarify some of the definitions and coverage (before I purchased the insurance cover on line), and found the representative knowlegable and polite.

First time with ReadySet Insurance and was attracted by the very good and more than competitive premium for comprehensive insurance. I found them through a product comparison site and they were rated very well for all aspects of the insurance. We haven't travelled yet and therefore no claims to make but hope that if we have any, they will be as straight forward as it was to set the policy up. Show details

Have just purchased the travel insurance for our upcoming trip in August. that the health issues were experienced some 10 years ago & the cholesterol issues are being well managed by medication. In short, the risk here is is being well managed. This should be taken in to consideration when calculating the premium. I see that all Insurance companies are following the same guidelines which is also disappointing.
