AIG Travel Insurance

This is a Joke
I have been trying to get a claim processed for months. They pass me back to Travel agent, who tries to pass me off to airline. It goes round and round. Its like a game they play.
The only credit the airline will give is a USA Credit, where the original flight originated. It was originally cancelled by airline due to Covid. However, I live in Australia and have no plans to visit USA. The credit they offered expires in 12m.
So i claimed on insurance.
They passed me back to Travel agent for a credit. They offered the same deal as the airline . No good! when i live in Australia and have no plans to go to USA.
So i want my insurance payout. I cant get a response anymore.

Dodgy, poor customer service and wild goose chases
I have been trying to obtain a refund since April for my trip to Europe in July this year, at first I waited it out to see what would happen, when it became apparent that Europe would be off the cards I put in my claim (I bought my tickets in Nov the prior year with full insurance including full cover in the instance of a pandemic). The fact they are trying to force me to book a ticket to go on a holiday whilst a pandemic is still underway is grossly negligent on their behalf or I can take the other option where they keep the airport taxes port...
Read moreion of my ticket. Which financially isn't viable for me. At the end of the day, I purchased full flight insurance, they need to honour it. They have sent me chasing for months trying to get released from the voucher by the airline, they can't do it as the airline says it is to do with Expedia and AIG, it's been a nightmare and people's mental health has already been really pushed this year why is a large company doing their best to damage it further? Why are they trying to take money from people during a recession and why are they not honouring the insurance they sold to me? Why do they make it so difficult to discuss or mediate a resolution, they wouldn't even negotiate the amount of money they wanted to take. In fact, they bank on the fact that people will no longer be able to chase them and give up, that is foul. They offered a product, if they can't deliver it they should not have sold it.Useless travel insurance
Apparently, India revoking all foreign visas to foreign travellers is not considered a good enough reason to claim for trip cancellation on my travel insurance.
Don't waste your time or money.

Horrible Customer Service Beware!
Bought tickets in Nov 2019 for trip in June 2020. Sons wedding was canceled, filed claim in April 2020 by June 6th no adjuster had been assigned, flight was June 18th. Had to file a complaint with Dept of Insurance. AIG started communications but not helpful at all. I have made a formal request to get my premium paid back.

Disgusting liars and cons
Took out travel insurance
These guys flood you with emails and literally ask you for the same information over and over and over and over and over and over and over!
Then every time you reply to their email you are responded with a generic email stating that they received your reply and they will respond to you within 10 business days! Every time!
They are scammers and just play the game of passing you around the office until you get so fed up you dont bother!
We paid alot of money for travel insurance through AIG and we are disgusted to say...

this is perfect examples of daylight FRAUD AIG
The international flight was canceled and we have rebooked that, due to rebooking we did not get the same day and time of the ticket to come to Australia and change the entire tour of Australia . that has occurred the canceling and rebooking of the ticket. for that, we have made the claim as we have spent money buying the travel insurance with AIG INSURANCE. that was like the daylight robbery for me as they denied to acknowledge our insurance claim.
there no below on star as customer service, otherwise I would have given 0 stars, as I have called them but no answer and asked them to call me back writing an email, all went on deaf ear worst service provider ever
Dont Buy the "Full Trip cancellation policy"
They do not honour cancelling your trip if you bought tickets after the 24th of Jan 2020. Poor customer service to sell a product that cant actually be claimed. As "everyone should have known that they would close boarders and cancel weddings".There is no point to this insurance as they will find a way to make sure your claim is rejected. Don't buy it - just a waste of money. I would give no stars if it were possible. I waited over a month to be told cancelling a trip because the wedding I was flying for at the end of the year is now cancelled is a "foreseeable circumstance".

Travellers beware
I ticked the 'insurance cover' box when purchasing a ticket with Jetstar in March 2020, paid the premium and was issued with an insurance policy certificate. The main purpose of the policy was to cover cancellation fees etc. Subsequently Jetstar cancelled its flight and I had no alternative other than to purchase a more expensive Qantas ticket the next day. I put in a claim for the difference in cost (Jetstar provided me with a refund voucher for its ticket) and one night accommodation all up approx $1100.
The claim was rejected by AIG on the...

Worst travel insurer out there!
Purchasing travel insurance with AIG is like throwing money down the toilet!
They do not honour legitimate insurance claims and use every trick in the book to get out of it.
You think you are covered when you purchase a travel insurance policy but not with AIG.
Stay away from them at all costs. Not worth the hassle!

BEWARE Do not waste your money. They will not pay
flights were cancelled due to coronavirus and this was the reason i took out the insurance just in case the flights were cancelled and they stated "at the time of taking out this Policy you were aware of or could be expected to be aware of, which could bring about your making a claim under this Policy.
so i lost $400. Don't waste your money on this insurance!!!!!

Waste of money
Jetstar offered a voucher which I cannot use and I had taken out this insurance. My flights were just over $900 and this is the response:
Please note that a policy excess of AUD$100 per event per insured person applies to each and every claim made under this Section. The possible reimbursement amount is AUD570.30 after subjected to a policy excess of AUD400.00
I fail to see the value in the insurance.

Never use american companies in australia!
My trip to New Zealand to visit a dying friend, flights were cancelled and after many calls not answered they refused to consider refund as it was not cancelled in time. However they said when contacted you had to go through travel company first to see what there decision would be. No-one at travel company responded so time passed the due time. Tough Luck! Both companies are American Wotif and AIG DO NOT BOOK THROUGH EITHER ONE! they do not care and it has been a nightmare. Lies and misinformation from both companies.
AGAIN NEVER BOOK THROUGH EITHER companies they are not operating under Australian Laws.
They are refusing any type of refund.b

Denied claim because the ticket was bought after coronavirus was reported.
They denied my claim because coronavirus was reported and I bought the plane tickets after. AIG stated in the policy that “Any incident of which You were aware at the time You purchased this insurance that could reasonably be expected to lead to a Claim.”
I didn’t reasonably expect that my flights will be cancelled but I bought the policy just in case it will be cancelled. The point of buying insurance is that you want to be covered for when your flight is cancelled by reasons beyond my control.

Over 45 minutes over the phone waiting to no answer and can't submit claims online!
It is so difficult to try and get a hold of them, I have called numerous of times and each time waited for over 45 minutes to talk to no one! I have tried 20 times to submit an online claim on different devices, tablet, laptop and desktop computer and it just won't process!

AIG Insurance is a Cheat and a Rip-Off. Do not buy
I had a valid claim where my flight got cancelled due to bad weather and I had to purchase a new ticket to fly back home. The original airline only refunded part of the money whereas the new ticket cost me significant $$. AIG response was provided with some fineprint saying it was rejected.

Absolute waste of money
Absolute waste of money. Was told over the phone after I started to explain their own PDS to them only for them to just try to pull out another attempt to deny my claim.

Big Scam Please dont waste your money.
I was flying for a conference that i paid 3100 $ in advance plus hotel bookings. The night i was to fly Jetstar cancelled its flight. They offered me next flight that was next day . If accepted i would have missed more than half of my conference.
Had to choose different flight in morning & stay overnight in Adelaide.
They refused to accept my claim as the fault is Jetstars? However Jetstar is the one offering us these scammers. I wish someone report them , they are praying on people.

I contracted AIG travel insurance. I was expecting a great customer service: Travel cancellation
I contracted AIG travel insurance. I was expecting a great customer service, as it was the easiest to get trough the website Expedia. I needed to change my flights dates because my job interview date changed. First they can do any ATM, fill a form, sent The receives etc at all.. My big surprise it was DENIED!! What?? How it can be possible? So my advice choose another one !!! This one is the worst from the worst!! If you contract a service you’re expecting a good service delivery. Such a SHAME on you AIG !

Medical Conditions Cover Assessment is a rort
I purchased a Annual Multi-trip policy based on the CHOICE magazines Travel Cover recommendation, however this little sting in the tail was not mentioned - SO BEWARE.
I take an anticholesterol tablet for well controlled cholesterol. I have no other problems heart or blood pressure issues with an absolutely normal angiogram.
All other insurance policies I have had in the past have this in their accepted pre-existing conditions with NO loading.
Once I declared this they insisted on a medical assessment. This Medical assessment occurred on line an...
