I have owned this tv for about 5yrs. It's completely useless unfortunately. I've only ever been able to use Netflix and YouTube, both are awfully slow. Besides plugging a hard drive in, it's pretty useless on its own. It's just a really crummy product. Get your money back if you still can!

I purchased a Akai 40 FHD Smart TV-AK4021NF. I haven’t unboxed it as somebody told me you cannot view Free to Air Programs? Is this correct please?
I’m in Australia and have no problem with the general tv stations which I would call free to air, can get Netflix no worries, but won’t play Stan, or 9Now. The remote is a pig also works when it wants to work on Netflix but freezes regularly. Also can’t chromecast to it

I'm using this identical system, and feel (in Australia, at least) that access to all the free-to-air channels is the best value it has. Picture and sound quality are superb. Interface design is deplorable, but for free-to-air, you can find the best sequence and stick with that. Program recording & playback are a nightmare, the doc doesn't help, and service in Aust is absent.

Sometimes the remote doesn't work, even with full batteries. The same will happen with changing channels sometimes. It fixs up after 30sec or so. If not switch off and on. Sucks hey
I've just brought a AKAI tv but I can't seem to download netflix
Just bought one of these and I can’t get it to turn on. Everything is connected properly and the Red standby light comes on but when I press to turn it on, the standby LED goes off but nothing happens. No blue LED and no tv. Any suggestions?
I am no expert but make sure "Antenna" is set as primary receiver. It does not like some media such as avi files and programs recorded on USB from a previous tv. Good luck mate.
Thanks Marty. There was no life at all on the tv, except for the red LED light to indicate there was power. I took it back to the shop and swapped it for a different brand.

Not built in, you can add that function with an addon device as far as I know. I solved my Netflix incompatability problem eventually by installing an Old version from a USB rather than the Playstore
