Alcafé Classic Gold Questions & Answers

Hi Steve. First I've heard of it. I was in Alsi last week, but I wasn't getting my coffee, (I bought two last time). Maybe others reading this can check out their local Aldi and see what's going on. I did try to buy Aldi's "Alcafe" cappucino "pre-mix" coffees, but that too has disappeared fromm the shelves. It has been replaced by a brand name product which although cheaper per sachel, is nowhere near as good.

Hi Gemini (my daughter is a Gemini too!). I loved the Aldi decaf as well. great flavour and that coffee smell when you open the jar! I can't tolerate caffiene so decaf only for me. Most other brands taste awful. I quizzed staff at various Aldi's. Got different answers, that all led to the same conclusion: they don 't know! One staffer told me the jars come all on the one box with mixed dark brown lids (strong), pale brown (normal) and blue (decaf). I find that hard to beleive. Lying to ensure decaf customers still come into the store to check it out. Anyway, you probably know all that. Woolworths sell "Republica Organic Decaf" in a beige jar with green writing and a green lid (of course!). I find it just as good as the Aldi decaf. One less Aldi customer.....

Thanks for that suggestion re Woolworths. I also have checked several Aldi stores for the Decaf without success.

Mirrabucca, the staff weren't lying. A lot of ALDI's products come mixed in the box if you look carefully. e.g. canned tuna in springwater or oil are mixed in the boxes, even new ones. ALDI store staff don't have the time to stand there and mix them up.
