I agree totally with all the one star reviews - would give it a zero if possible. I had an old coffee Aldi coffee machine for years and it was perfect. Had to replace it 7 months ago because it was leaking badly but I figured after many good years and thousands of great cups of coffee it deserved to be retired. I was looking forward to receiving… Read more
my new one but this latest model is absolute rubbish - for all the reasons outlined by everyone else - and no longer works. The only reason I began shopping at Aldi was to buy their coffee pods. I'll be buying another brand of coffee machine and won't be shopping at Aldi again.
Sorry but this is a dreadful machine. We have owned three Aldi Expressi capsule machines in the last 10 years or so and they have been brilliant. I bought the EXP-19CCMB last week (June 2026) and the first thing I noticed on the setup is that everything is smaller. The water container is heaps smaller than the other ones so you have to keep… Read more
filling up - where another problem lies where you have to fit the container into a hook; and that's a pain in the neck.
The holder for the cups is loose which is annoying.
After pretty well using a complete box of Italian Blend (11 strength) we cottoned onto the fact that it's the capsules causing the problem as water was going into the used capsule container instead of the cup.
With the previous machine I could set up for the maximum amount of coffee in the cup. This time after at least half a dozen times trying to get the coffee to fill the cup to the brim (using the instructions: I'm not daft) I just gave up and have to press the button twice.
Stupidly I threw the previous workable machine away before I checked this rubbish out. The truck took it away the same day before I could charge out and retrieve it. Rats.
So now I'm going to have to get a refund: which of course is no problem with Aldi: but there's no point buying another one as they're rubbish: so I'll have to buy something else and leave myself with six boxes of unused capsules. Double rats.
I have owned three Aldi espresso coffee machines over the years, and unfortunately I have noticed a steady decline in quality with each new version. My first machine was reliable, well-built, and produced consistently good coffee. The second was acceptable, but the latest model feels like a significant step backwards in terms of build quality,… Read more
performance, and overall user experience.
I understand the need to keep products affordable, but if this trend of reducing quality continues, Aldi may find that customers begin looking elsewhere for their coffee solutions. This could have a flow-on effect, not only on coffee machine sales but also on the ongoing sale of coffee pods, as customers who invest in alternative espresso systems are likely to purchase their pods and accessories from other suppliers as well.
I have generally been a loyal Aldi customer and have enjoyed the convenience of the coffee pod system, which is why this feedback is disappointing to provide. I hope Aldi takes customer feedback seriously and focuses on improving the quality and durability of future coffee machine models.

Piece of junk. Im returning mine for a full refund today (3rd time in 5 months). No more chances. Bring back the old square unit-it was brilliant. Show details
Great Pod Machine for the Price – I was given an Aldi Expressi Coffee machine (pod/capsule) for my birthday 4 years ago. Pretty pleased with the reliability and results. It isn't as good as a full-on expresso machine, they are a different "kettle of fish". A pod machine should be quick and easy to use, make a suitable beverage, be reliable, and easy to maintain. The Expressi… Read more
meets all the above criteria. Typically retails around $79, and the pods are $6.50 for 16 pods, so it won't burn your wallet at $0.41 each! I've had some better pod coffee, and many worse ones, compared to what this Aldi machine makes. Better coffee than ANY drip machine. The factory default has two modes, a short and a long. But you can program these to dispense the volume you prefer. The Aldi coffee pods come in continuous strengths and various styles from 5 (Tauro) to 14 (Intense). There are also Organic at strength 8, Decaf 7, Chai Latte, Regular and White hot chocolates. Various flavoured coffees are regularly produced as limited releases. To be honest, there are some varieties I do not like the taste, but I do like more than half of the varieties. The best results are obtained with a decent milk. The FARMHOUSE GOLD MILK (blue lid) makes a very good crema. The Aldi machine is "slim line", average/large sized and extremely easy to keep clean. It also fits my favourite, VERY large mugs (12 cm tall, 350 ml). I typically use pod strength 11-14 for a mug. The warm up time is 15 seconds and the machine has a mandatory rinse cycle. An auto shut off activates after 3-5 mins if not being used. Although it can be switched on again without the warm up and mandatory rinse cycle within a few minutes of the auto shut off activation. There are many smaller machines on the market if space is critical, but they have smaller water tanks, tiny bins and usually won't fit the larger mugs. The Aldi Expressi has several different colour options. A minor nuisance: occasionally a pod drops directly into the bin when you insert it. But it is easily retrieved and is perfectly useable as the pod isn't pierced when this happens. Also the water level cannot be observed in the plastic water tank, nor can you see when the bin is full. However, this is pretty typical with most pod machines. The water tank capacity and bin capacity are higher than most pod machines (the bin holds 7 pods). It's easy to check the water level via top, rear lid. The water tank and the bin both lift off the base for easy cleaning. Summary Good Points: Fairly decent coffee for a pod machine, lots of beverage options. Price $79. Pods $0.46 each. Reliable, & easy to use. Auto shut off. Programmable. Large Bin. Large Water tank. Fits large mugs. Bad points: Cannot observe water or bin levels. Sometimes a pod "drops" through (but pod isn't damaged).
I opened one of the capsules to see how much plastic was in it. The capsules cannot be recycled.
Coffee Pod selection is good. After 3 weeks, coffee pods started to fail. About 1 in 3 pods do not work in the machine due to: - machine fails to pierce the pod - the pod will not fit in machine (pod cover has expanded) - pod seal is poor I do not recommend and was disappointed in a review I had read elsewhere, which rated it the best pod machine in 2024
Update. I bought a Nespresso pod machine and all good. No exploding/ malfunctioning pods. This… Read more
This is Aldi's worst coffee machine. Coffee is cold, you have to microwave it and the machine leaks coffee onto the bench top, I have to place paper towel under it. Show details

After many years useage Jan 2018 the coffee flow reduced. To lift the handle at top it was evident a pressure buildup had occurred. Our first remedy was to de calcify with vinegar. No improvement. SOLUTION: with a small skewer I punched two small… Read more
holes in the top of the pod before loading Pod. Fortunately for us, it works like new again. Hope this helps others with same problem.
Follow-up · We use filtered water and haven’t had the need to descale since my original problem. I suggest once or twice per year if using poor quality water. We use the machine for 3-4 months each year in our caravan. The skewer hasn’t caused any damage as I only use it to punch a few xtra holes in the top of the pod. But keep in mind I only add a few holes for Non ALDI PODS. As at June 2026 the machine is working very well.
Got given an Aldi Express Mini for xmas terrible machine, pods jam water tank to small taking it back, still have the old square one which we have had for about 10 years and it has never missed a beat. Show details
Follow-up · Don't use it,the old machine still works well, pods jammed all the time, the water tank not as easy as the old one,and loud.
Today, a third Aldi coffee machine EXP-19CCMB broke down in less than 12 months. Water starts leaking through the machine. After I cleaned it, I plugged it back and attempted using it without coffee pod. Water went through the system ok no leaks.… Read more
Then I put coffee pod it started running and I heard what sounded like electrical pop inside the machine. Machine stopped working completely no lights came on and a bit of water came underneath the machine. I am now thinking there could be electrical hazard if water is somehow finding a way into electrics but I can not prove this as I haven’t opened it up. Completely disappointed with this product yet the coffee is great.
P.S. I have logged product recall request form on ACCC website on safety grounds with water leak and on the back of all reviews on the product review website.
Follow-up · - a month later getting stuffed around by Aldi warranty team, sent the details multiple times, sent photos, sent video, apparently AU Post was going to send me an instruction for postage back. none of that happened after several followups. - absolute joke

Had one of the older models and found it unimpressive; the coffee it made was so-so. Have bought a new one recently, and I actually really like that it's so much smaller than the older model. I was surprised when I opened the box and discovered the machine was somewhat miniature! This works well for me as I don't have a lot of kitchen space to… Read more
work with.
It's super compact, relatively stylish, and I find that the coffee it makes is perfectly acceptable. No bells and whistles; very easy to use with just two buttons (40 and 80ml, I think) and a mechanical lever to push down and release pods.
I see some people (both here and on other social media sites) complaining that the pods don't quite fit. I haven't experienced this problem. This Expressi pods fit well, as do the Vittorio pods I purchased.
Simple, basic, but effective.
Lately, the Abruzzo 12 pods need to be pierced to allow air out as they are bloated and do not drop in the receptor. Once gently pierced, they are ok, shouldn't need to work out the science on these items, as some folk won't work it out. Show details
Negative reviews
The machine leaks around the pod with every cup creating a pool of coffee water to be cleaned up under the machine, often filling the capsule container and not a drop in the cup. It is noisy and vibrates. Show details
I have recently purchased the white and black machine with built in milk frother. The last few days it has been blocked (pulled container apart and back together), steam streaming out of machine. I have no idea how to fix it. The machine constantly leaks even with pod holder emptied, and water unit in place. Not sure what I can do. Looks like I may need to return it.
This is the worst incarnation of the expressi machines. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to warm up, pods jam inside it 9 times out of 10, the idea of making things smaller & more compact means you have to empty the bin after only a hand full off pods, which in a coffee loving family is just annoying. None of the subsequent machines have held… Read more

We have had two of these machines in the last six months The first started leaking hot water over our bench after four months and was probably dangerous I hadn't kept the receipt so couldn't claim the warranty and foolishly bought a second one This one lasted two months Wise me had kept the receipt so called up to claim (24 month warranty) What a… Read more
runaround! I was asked what capsules I had been using and even asked to send photos of the boxes and used capsules It was pretty apparent to me that Aldi warranties are worth no more than chewing gum on the footpath Until they stopped working they made good coffee but bear in mind they are temporary so don't stock up on capsules
What a disappointment. Older square machine lasted for year each time and no real issues. This one is terrible. Noisy, pods get stuck all the time and only holds a few. When it dies, as it sounds like it will. I will change brands. Goodbye Aldi, your not the only value show in town. Show details
Aldi should be embarrassed that it still has this dreadful machine for sale and it also reflects badly on Canstar Blu that it rates it highly . It is truly awful . the coffee (expressi 12) is great ,the older machine lasted me for years ,I even took it on my holydays, but the new smaller machines are terrible ,I have gone through 3 machines ,I will try to find a machine that can take the Aldi pods as I love the coffee I do not return the machines as I don't like the hassle since there never is enough staff on the floor at Kogarah Show details
Had the new Aldi machine for a couple of months. Wasted a lot of pods that the machine didn’t pierce . Machine makes a mess, when you empty pod tray, there is coffee water underneath the machine, the machine sometimes vibrates and makes excessive noise. The water tray fits but not snug. Overall the machine is a lemon. Tried to take it back and… Read more
because i paid cash and didn’t keep the receipt Aldi refused to replace it. Will have to buy the other duo machine, hopefully it’s not a piece of trash like this one.
Old square version was great but had to replace it after 10 years of constant use. New ALDI expressi machine is complete and utter garbage. Cheap clunky construction, loud and vibrates the cup off the base, small water reservoir and capsule container constantly needing filling or emptying. Couldn't set the desired level for coffee as per the… Read more
instructions so I took it back and replaced it with another machine which was equally as rubbish and had exactly the same issues. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
The new rounded machine is awful. I'm about to return my second one in a year. The older machine lasted years. This new type leaks water onto the bench. And a lot of the time the coffee dispenses into the used coffee pod section instead of the cup. A lot of wasted pods. The only reason I'm still getting another one is the warranty allows me to keep swapping my machine over and the coffee, when it comes through, is fine Show details
The old, squarish machine was excellent, lasted several years before finally giving up the ghost. The new, rounder one is an example of very shoddy workmanship, I've had to replace it five times in a year before giving up and getting a refund (thankfully my local ALDI didn't make a fuss, I had the receipt and the cashier had a similar poor experience). Extremely disappointing. Show details
This machine is a big let down. It is very noisy and it vibrates so the coffee cup slides off the base. I have had to put a small piece of rubber matting on the base to keep my cup from falling off. It feels cheap and poorly made. It also takes longer to heat the water and the water container is hard to put in place. I do like that you can see… Read more
the water level but you need to as it does not hold enough water so you are always refilling it so it doesn't run out of water. I preferred the Kfee machine and wish I had never purchased this machine. The ALDI coffee pods as always are still great so at least I still get a nice cup of coffee out of it but would definitely not recommend this machine. It is not an improvement at all !
Small, pokey, all plastic. Looks like it should be in a dolls house. Previous Aldi machine used every day for 13 years. Coffee heat ok as long as I microwave milk. Show details
Follow-up · After seeing other peoples reviews I consider myself lucky it doesn't leak. The Kfee machine was a pleasure to use - I find I don't use this much because it is not a pleasurable experience. I am considering resurrecting my percolater. When I use Milano (non Kfee) sometimes it won't push any water through. Then I open it (under pressure) and the capsule falls apart. Then it is a cleaning job.
Not used daily anymore
The pods just getting so expensive I've switched over to Nespresso. The also pods seem to burst and pop even after changing the machine. Regarly ruining pods. the new machine only lasted a few months before having problems. Only reason I shopped at Aldi now gone haha. Show details
