pros - got it at $129 on special from aldi. great value for this price. had it for about 2 years. long shaft with chainsaw/hedger useful. biggest branches cut approx. 8cm. edger useful. uses unleaded no ethanol 40:1 mix 2-stroke oil. cons - a bit heavy, but very useful. spring button for attachments damaged quickly. replaced it with a small bolt. edger blades worn down - replaced with homemade semi-flexible plastic blades. Heavy unit – Very convenient to have many tools but just one engine. Very easy to change attachments. Only downside is the weight of the unit, a lot heavier than any brush cutter I've ever used. Show details
I bought my unit three years ago for $129 - a returned item. I bought it expecting a small challenge - and it presented itself in the form of a carb that needed cleaning. Cleaned it, and worked well - $129 for 6 tools on a 2 stroke engine is cheap. Engine fires up within 3 pulls if tuned properly and the correct sequence is followed. It is a… Read more
heavy unit - but the engine is 32cc vs 25cc of other lighter units. My carb did experience a blockage, and I seized the engine. While looking at how much money I would need.... realised I could order replacement parts from China. $32 later and got a new cylinder engine and fitted it, ran it in and now it starts 1st or 2nd pull!
For the price, the unit is adequate - if you expect Stihl quality (over $2K for $200 that is not possible) - and is durable. The most used item is the hedger and the pruning saw which helps keep taller branches out of the way.
The market is saturated with X in 1 multitools - these are just clones of the same product with some tweaks / different stickers. Most parts are interchangeable from the supply chain - just search on Aliexpress or amazon.
Why did I give it 4 stars then? While I am happy for the cost, something went wrong. The little wire tang that connects the accelerator cable broke - it is flimsy as, and while there are ways to repair it, the only way to repair is by buying a whole handle. Bit overkill needing a cable end yet spend $30 for a whole handle.
If you are on a budget - worth it, but you may need to troubleshoot a bit should things go wrong.
Reviews with attachments
Hoped for the best ended up with the worst – The start process is very convoluted. The choke automatically switched to hot run and engine continued although manual said it would stop. Worked brilliantly for just over 10 min with brush cutter ( only in grass) then engine simply stalled and would not start again even after a long wait. It is now the next day and still no start. The starting… Read more
cord will not even fully extend. This was the very first use of the equipment. Hoped for the best but tool was found wanting.
Great tool. Engine seized after 16months – Engine seized after 16months. Comes with 3yr warranty, so I'm going to take my money and go buy an electric tool. It worked seamlessly for the 16months I've owned it. All the attachments worked perfectly. The engine is made of a very thin aluminium, so very succeptible to wear and failure. The tool is heavy and I wouldn't buy it again only… Read more
because it's heavy especially if you have a large garden, hedges etc. Refunded and purchased dedicated electric tools instead.
Not really good enough but ok – Brought it mostly for the mini chainsaw attachment but it was hopeless. No matter how well you think you have it tensioned it becomes lose or even tightness up the moment you use it. The chain struggled through a small branch and then was so dull it could not cut anything. Rather useless. The other attachment seem ok. The blower works well and… Read more
the hedge trimmer seems reasonable. The power unit itself though is heavy and a big boggy plus blows too much smoke. Compared to the smaller engine on my ryobi unit the ryobi has more power and blows no smoke. So just a typical low quality 2 stroke engine made to lower tolerances or maybe a bad unit. It works so that's a plus.

Way better than we were expecting – After two weeks we can't complain. It was either the Stihl Kombi system for about $2k or the Aldi combo system for $200 3yr warranty and take the risk. Used whipper snipper, edger and hedger full on and for the price very happy and the edger is perfect. It has copped a pizzling haha. My only criticism is that the harness is crap but for $200 I can live with that. Show details
Starts easy and did the job needed – Starts easy. I made sure to mix the fuel as per instructions so she runs and burns clean. It is louder then I thought but that's no big deal. The edger attachment was awesome to use I really like this attachment . The brush cutter also works really well too The hedge trimmer does the job but it does get stuck on the thicker branches. Just… Read more
give it more time and she cuts through them.
I haven't used the chainsaw attachment yet and I honestly don't have a use for it atm so can't comment on that one.
The blower was ok but I found my electric ones works better, not really a deal breaker for me either.
For the price of 199 I can't complain. It starts easy and does the job I needed to get done. Overall I'm happy with this product.
What is not to like? – I don’t understand why some people are having trouble with this device. Maybe the two stroke mix is wrong, maybe they didn’t run the engine in at all? I don’t know. I have found it very reliable and easy to start. I have not used all the tools yet but the brush cutter and the hedge trimmer both did a great job. Show details

Aldi fail – Won the tool in a raffle so wasn't expecting much. Unpacked it, very difficult to use instructions. Worked it out with no help from manual. Poured fuel into it, it was leaking badly from the screws holding to the engine. Contacted aldi support, they gave a lot corporate [Content Removed]. We've sold so many without trouble, we can send a new… Read more
tank, as if that helps. Then support because you won it in a raffle, aldi can't do anything more. So much for aldis advertising.
Frustrating – Really difficult to put together. Instructions, diagrams, really difficult, l was guessing and hoping for the best for the most part. Wish l didn't buy this Show details
Waist of money – It was hard to start straight out of the box, It has been used 2 maybe 3 times and now it will not start, no matter what you do. Total waste of money Not Happy Aldi !! Show details

Absolute beast – Ok... the edger... my God it's a violent beast. Nothing stopped it, stones concrete, the toughest of weeds. While sparks fling out the side, getting whipped by broken stones that got caught in the crossfire. The sheer weight (as the clipped that connects it to your body snapped 10 seconds in) makes your shoulder ache, and the forearm grip the… Read more
hold both triggers down, wow! However, perfect lines, crisp looking lawn. I love it. The other attachments are good too I guess
Just do it! – Stay with me here….I was in Aldi for the weekly shop & spotted this item reduced from $199 to $129. Suspicion got the better of me & I spent the next 24 hours checking online reviews…some of which didn’t fill me with much cheer…but in the end I thought stuff it…take a gamble & rely on the generous 3 year warranty in a worst-case scenario. I… Read more
returned to the store & bought the last one on the shelf and I’m so glad I did. Took it home, religiously observed the instruction manual & easily assembled the new toy. It started after three pulls & I’ve never looked back. Use it weekly around my home & have utilised all the attachments to date bar the chainsaw. The blower is so effective that a nosy neighbour almost lost his hairpiece while taking a gawk over the fence! Heavy to use? Harden up lads! This is a great tool at a bargain price…& if my son is reading this…go get your own!
Just needs an operator with some basic experience. All good – It all works as I expected in a suburban yard. Easy to start, unless you flood it. Cuts thick branches with patience. Cuts small stuff easily. Learn how to sharpen a chain if you are having problems. Lucky that I didn't listen to the negative comments. It only needs the usual for this type of tool: attention to lubrication, tension of saw… Read more
chain/blade, don't force it and sharpen the chain/blade when it needs it.
Great tool for the price when used properly. Maybe do an honest check of your skills if you find it is crap - it really isn't.
Thumbs up as value for money.
Probably quite good, but no manual with it so don’t know how to use , Connect the various attachments – We cannot use the various parts as there is no manual and no longer have receipt to prove purchase. Thought that the manual would be on line but cannot find it. If anyone can help with locating a manual I would be grateful Show details
Things break on your first use – The chainsaw attachment cover breaks as soon as your chain becomes loose and slips off the bar-breaking cover. Lasted 30 mins. And the chainsaw bottle leaks oil. Haven't tested other attachments yet. Don't even bother about your 3 yr warranty. You end up going to some dodgy website. I tried and ended up nowhere. Show details
first time used it ran OK not great lacked power stalled easy seconed time use it wouldnt idel no wont start at all – the engine has failed afftersales suport is an abbsulute joke in the worst taste possible emailed them still no response phoned them on hold no answers spoke to shop staff sugested i contact affter sales support and gave me the same phone number Show details
cheap go to tool – I only bought this machine to use as a brushcutter ..& it has done that well .. the supplied brushcutter blade was way to thin ( weak) so I fitted a much stronger one .. have used it on big lantana black wattle saplings etc .. for $199 .. a fraction of the price of the " brand name" manufacturers..who's products are often made in China anyway Show details
No instruction manual – I spent $200 on the product and when I unpacked there was no Instruction Manual. I have been through the web, and although there are instruction manuals for Ferrex equipment. There are none for the '6-in-1 Multi Garden Tool'. Trying to get any help from ALDI direct is a total waste of time. What a waste of $200. I will never buy products at ALDI. Show details
Great value for $199 – The hardest thing about putting this machine together was attaching the handle!Gave up on the holster thing used an old one.Everything else was great.Brush cutter fantastic for overgrown garden 4 ft high weeds ,small trees ,camphor laurel ,devils fig all gone.Easy to start. Not to heavy not too noisy.Certainly no worse than the expensive one I used to have.Another great aldi buy thanks Show details

Don’t believe the hype – I bought this trimmer to do a mid size yard. If you can get it started, it will run hot very quickly, sound like a dirt bike with holes in its exhaust and will stall when it hits wet grass. The attachments are flimsy and break after first use..so chucked in the bin.. the trim line is difficult and not standard to re-thread the header (keep the… Read more
YouTube clip on how to in your favourites). The shaft is detachable and good luck getting the internals of the shaft to line up correctly again.. after the brush cutter blade came flying off yesterday I chucked the whole thing away before it killed me. Do I recommended this product H*ll NO!!
Perfect garden multi tool – Bought this 6 in 1 garden multi tool a months ago, used all the attachments except the edger.. I'm using it often as second job gardening and landscaping. Attachments are very easy to change and never had problem to turn it on! Chainsaw cuts pretty well and edge trimmer works perfectly. Just bit noisy but not too bad. If you are looking to something cheap and reliable this is the perfect toy. Very happy of this buy. Show details
Starts but engine won't run for use – I bought this a couple of weeks ago and got round to putting it together yesterday, just the whipper snipper and edger attachments to date. Took ages to get it started, the manual said put it on full choke which I did and said let it run and it would turn itself off. once that happens you restart it on run choke. It never stops and when you try to… Read more
use it and it goes to run choke and stalls. I can't start it on run choke and I cant use it on full choke so totally useless for me. Disappointed as it had all the attachments I wanted but if engine not running nothing works. Oh well thank goodness for refunds
Burning plastic while running – I just got this yesterday, I assembled everything as indicated in the manual, and using the correct 2 stroke oil/petrol ratio, but when running for 5 minutes i can see and smell plastic burning from the engine area from under the casing, not the exhaust. I WILL Try to open the casing as long as it doesn't void warranty to see what is burning, and may return asap if so.. Fairly heavy!, handle is rattly/not sterdy, very noisy! Show details
Seems fine to me – Had tool for some time now and works fine. Noticed petrol leak from filler cap but turned out to be cross threaded. Easy fix. Have read quite a few negative reviews but if kept clean and sharp, the tools work well. Not a professional level device but for $199, complaints are unreasonable. Show details
Easy to use, very affordable compared to the big brands – Easy to use, plenty of power a bit fiddle to put together but well worth the price. Used it mostly with the pole saw which I’ve cut down 20 inch diameter branches easily. Show details
Rubbish! – Bought this last Monday. Returned it Tuesday for refund. Say no more I guess. Refund was made easy as staff member wasn’t surprised that it wouldn’t start. Also ridiculously heavy. This has been and will remain my one and only Aldi motorised/power tool purchase. Show details
The motor works but nothing else – Attachments are difficult to remove. I can blow harder than the attachment blower does. Edger bloke within two users as did the whipper snipper. Tries to do too much with the one gadget and achieves none. Show details
ALDI 6 in one garden tool – I own a Garden line brand which I bought from ALDI 5 years ago. Then I bought a similar tool named Ferrex. The Motor failed 1 month later. Broken listen ring. I did not claim warranty as I lost the receipt. I put this down as bad luck and bought another one. Worked fine to start with, then the motor just stopped one day and never started again.… Read more
Broken piston rings the ALDI appointed repairer said. Got a refund this time. Another problem with this machine is fuel leaking from the tank Cap and the fuel pick-up grommet on the tank. Would not recommend. Terrible quality product. Terrible customer service system. Never again.
Great value, powerful enough for medium tasks – Bought it for the pole saw, cut 5 x 3meter high trees. Peach (7inch trunk) , Nectarine, bay leaf... Then cut them into 1.2 meter lengths for council pick-up..... Paid for itself already and I haven't used the other attachments yet..... Will need to sharpen chain or buy a new chain....... Great value. Highly recommended for DIY'er or someone who knows its limitations. Show details
