history and local Information. Hotels were good with clean comfortable Facilities, and a healthy Breakfast which lots of choices was available each morning. Local transport by Buses which were comfortable and fairly new plus a 5-hour trip by high-speed Rail was a highlight. The Flight arrangements made by the local Queensland based Agency were very good, time wise and Airline wise with Cathay Pacific via Hong Kong. It was a very satisfying and happy Vacation I certainly recommend.

Just completed 10 day tour of China and it was brilliant. Had three different tour guides and each one was knowledgeable and caring, Lucy, Diana and the outstanding Kelly. prepared to keep to a time schedule. Lots of walking and it is a group tour so generally you must stay with the group. A brilliant way to see the highlights of a country. Would not hesitate to do another Aldi Holiday tour

Highly recommend the Aldi Holidays. We took the 5 day trip to Cairns & it was amazing. Stayed at the Rydges on the Esplanade overlooking the water, went on several tours which were a once in a life time adventure. Loved every minute of our holiday. Thank you Aldi & staff. Show reply

We have just come back from the Aldi Phuket 8 day holiday at the Novotel and I can definitely recommend (except for Jetstar - make sure you bring your own snacks !). breakfast and a lunch or dinner each day. We had a really fabulous time. Also includes trades to and from airport. Hotel is 5 minute walk down a hill to beach and to shops. There is also a shuttle bus every half hour is you don’t want to walk back up the hill. It’s a 200m walk not far but steep. I just wanted to write this review as I personally was not sure what to expect. 100% recommended.

Follow-up · We had a different buffet every night and the food was perfect especially the seafood buffets. We went coral island and went snorkelling and the coral was fantastic. It's also a short drive to old Phuket town for the Sunday markets. The flights with Singapore Airlines was the best I had ever experienced in economy. It was never to much trouble for the flight crew to assist us.

After seeing an ad in the Aldi Catalogue I rang and made enquiries and spoke to Angela, she could not have been more helpful and answered all my many questions and queries. Will NEVER book anything with this company again. Final documentation was wrong & no hotels were booked on our behalf. We booked a Sri Lankan holiday with Katie-Lee. After emailing a few times and ringing finally got detail and contacted Esna Holidays in Sri Lanka who were excellent and quickly emailed the name and phone number of our private tour guide.
Still cannot believe KatieLee did NOT even book any hotels for us which we only found out on arrival at our first hotel. On checking in we ended up having to wait for hours before agreeing to pay the hotel again if this big mistake could not be sorted out before we checked out.
Trying to contact Aldi support and KatieLee was stressful and time-consuming and to date we have never received a reply or apology from them. Esna holidays told us they do NOT deal with the hotel bookings but were wonderful as they saw how stressed and upsetting this was and spoiling our holiday and, even though it was not their job they ended up sorting it out for us.
I just got a quote for a holiday to Freestyle Resort Port Douglas. Advertised as from $1299. (That's from $ 2598 for two people) I added one extra night for two people and was quoted $4430! Is that honest advertising??? Show details

I write this review in the hope that it will stop others getting stung! Yes, I got to see China to a small extent, but not anywhere near as well as a better tour. The whole setup appears cheap at the beginning, but is spoiled by several factors including the $12 days so-called 'TIPPING' which actually did not go to the tour guides or anything… Read more
but to the central office – – so why not just add them onto the initial cost and be honest?
We were accommodated well outside of the cities and hotels – the first hotel at the hot springs in Beijing was beautiful because of the hot spring bath, but the last day in Shanghai was a shocking quality hotel, a long way from the city so most of the day was spent on the bus.
The worse and most common complaint was on the bus is the 'HARD SELL', that is bussed to various so-called government owned 'Institutes of Natural Health', Jade, Silk and Tea Plantation. Be damned about showing people anything about the traditional process – just herded into a room for an hour or so hard sell – – the worst thing is the prices were absolutely exorbitant; which caught a lot of people including myself until I woke up.
Was it good value? No, not with the hidden fees and I would certainly go to China by myself, booking hotels as things are fairly easy.
I think Aldi have brought disgrace upon themselves with this promotion.
Frankly, I think most people on my boss would agree that the last day warrants a rebate.
Anyhow, if you're going and need a tour, pay upfront a bit more and get something that shows you China – not the inside of a bus or a showroom.

However, I was disappointed to discover an issue with the booking process that added unnecessary stress and additional costs to our trip. On the Aldi booking site, it requests you to input a middle name, not middle names, and there is no indication that you can enter more than one. My wife has multiple middle names, so we only entered one, not realising this could cause a problem. We later learned that airlines require the ticket name to match the passport exactly, including all middle names. While Garuda Airlines did not require a correction, Virgin Airlines did, resulting in an extra charge of $262. We were informed that this fee could have been even higher if both airlines had required changes.
We raised this with Aldi, hoping the ambiguity on the website could be acknowledged and perhaps the fee reconsidered. However, we were told, "As the name correction fees have been applied by both the airlines and My Fiji in line with their policies, we’re unfortunately unable to have these charges waived."
I hope this feedback is helpful for improving the booking process. Clarifying the instructions for entering multiple middle names on the website could help future travellers avoid similar issues and unexpected costs. Despite this setback, we truly appreciated the quality of the resort and the care from the staff, and we hope to see this aspect of the booking process improved. I would have given Aldi 5 stars, if this hadn’t happened and their website stated middle names.

I contacted Aldi Holidays via their enquiry line on the website. I received a phone call followup. Laetisha answered all my questions and explained how the packages worked.
