Hello. I have great difficulty sliding the drag arm. There is a repeated clicking noise when sliding. It appears the drag arm goes out of line when using. Take weight off arms and noise disappears. Ive have the saw for a few years and not used it for this reason. I now have use for it. When I examine the bearing set up supporting I notice there are only three bearing , two one arm and one the other. It has been like this since purchase and seems to be the cause of weight not being supported. Where can I get a fourth bearing or am I looking at the wrong reason? Thanks

I'm not sure Paul what you are trying to describe. Can you upload a video of the problem? If you can't do a video here, try via Messenger.

I am finding great difficulty in sliding the arm of the compound mitre saw back into place during a cut. I believe the bearings?? may be shot. Does anybody know where I can get replacements or what size they are?

If you're referring to the turntable, it swivels through a sleeve as bearings are not required in this function. Try looking at it from underneath and make sure there is no grime build-up and give the sleeve a bit of WD-40 or similar, no oil as dust dust etc will cling to it and make it worse for next time. Also, check for surface rust as a possible cause as well.

Thanks for the quick reply Big Bob but, I was talking about the two arms at the back of the blade & motor that allow you to move the blade forward and back when cutting wider pieces of timber.

The PDF of the Manual appears to be missing some of the Fig annotated pictures associated with the procedure to remove the blade. It refers to a spring to be release for the Blade guard but it is not shown in the Figures. Currently, it was quite tight to get the 216mm OD blade out and now even tricker to get it refitted. I need this missing information picture to correctly follow the procedure. Locking spindle for the blade and the LH thread on the arbor cap screw aren't an issue. Just easy of blade in and out.

I just checked on the web and there are several variants of this that should match and download/print off.

I am using it for 4 years now I’m unable to cut straight. There is 3to 4 mm different in all cuttings Is there any solutions for adjusting blade. Thanks

Big Bob

The only thing that I can think of is to make sure the guides are secure and firm or you might be loading up the blade too much and it's flexing or dull.

Help needed I have just used for the first time the WORKZONE titanium sliding mitre saw. I am using a new 4amp battery. When I start to cut a piece of wood it cuts out and will not restart. This is a new machine but purchased a few years ago. Any suggestions I have tried another battery same result if I take the battery off and replace it it starts but cuts out again when cutting.

I do not have the battery-operated saw that you describe, but knowing that the shelf life of rechargeable batteries will deteriorate if not used, both your batteries may have shorted out internally. You could try Aldi for a refund after showing them that it is brand new, but you may be out of warranty. If so, you may also take the batteries and charger to someone like Battery World who may be able to repair or replace them, pending compatibility.

Thanks but the batteries are new purchased last week it’s still in warranty it because I don’t have the receipt The supplier won’t help It seems it cuts out during a saw cut

How to change the blade? The nut is loose and removed. I can't get the blade out of the blade shield. I tried the saw in the down position with the shield fully open and in the up position with the shield fully closed. I can't get the blade centre over the shaft. It is as if the shield is a snug fit around the blade and doesn't have enough riggle room. What am i missing? Please help?

Kobus

The gaurd might have been bent and formed a snug fit around the blade. Using some pliers it could be bent open to free the blade

Big Bob
Big Bob

It functionally should have just enough room to pop off the motor shaft on a slight angle and with the shield open. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure there is no build up of sawdust around the blade or that nothing is bent on or around the guard. I haven't taken mine off as yet but would be looking at clearing the top half of the blade first as the open-ended bottom area has more room to manouver once the top is cleared and can slide down a bit. If all else fails, you may need to consider dismantling part of the guard assembly.

I need to some lengths of Colorbond capping flashing, less than 1mm thickness, can I use the blade that came with the machine? or head for Bunnings. Can I safely use the aldi mitre saw for this purpose? Thanks Ross

Dave S.
Dave S.

No. I would recommend using an angle grinder

Big Bob
Big Bob

I agree with Dave's comment as the blade supplied is a timber-cut saw. You may also want to consider a hacksaw or tin snips, pending how much you want to cut off.

Can someone tell me how to change the blade please? It came with a diagram but that was unreadable because the previous owner left it in the sun and it's faded.. Thanks

Near where the laser light switch you will see a silver bar (approx 20mm wide). Push that in towards the motor while slowly rotating the blade by hand and it will lock into place to stop the blade from spinning. Then you should be good to go with a ring spanner or socket to undo the nut holding the blade in place.

Hi. Is this machine available now?

Big Bob

Not that I'm aware that it is on the shelves within your region and if you are wanting to buy, I can only suggest that you contact Aldi's Head Office and ask when they are planning to restock this as it is one of their seasonal products that can come and go quite fast.

Aldi Should be able to provide their service technician, who I believe is in Sydney and he can mail them to you. Sorry that I don't know who he is, but he was mentioned in a previous post. Edit: I found out this guy from a blog 3 years ago if that helps Sheppach.com.au PH. 1300855831

Hi Russell Sorry, but I can't help directly other than see if you can find out who Aldi uses as their service technician and try them. The only other option that I can think of is if you have a good Nuts & Bolts supplier handy but you would need to know it's thread gauge and length. If you are having trouble in identifying it, I might be able to pull mine apart and sent you a photo at least.

The chop saw will not fully close up. It rests 12mm above where it should be. As a result I canny cut through wood completely. Any ideas?

Big Bob
Big Bob

When operation the drop saw, there are two actions that need to be done at the same time as a safety requirement. There is a black flat lever under the trigger handle that you need to press with your thumb and then the saw should be able to go all the way down. If you are already doing this, check to see if nothing is stopping the guard from opening when you push down on the saw. If you can't find anything obvious, you may need to get Aldi to have their service person look at it.

The Blade Guard on the Workzone 8" Mitre Saw keeps jamming & I'm unable to make a cut! Can someone please help me. I'm a dummy, so need all the help I can get. Thanks guys

Big Bob
Big Bob

Hi David If you have just started to use this, there are 2 safety features to stop the guard to automatically open or to drop the saw down to cut. If you can't lower the blade, you are using it incorrectly. If the saw operates and you can lower the blade but the guard does not automatically open, there may be something jamming it within the mechanism. Hope this answer helps.
