1 Kerrod  · Worst car insurance company I’ve ever dealt with be leaving them as soon as I have the time to cancel and join someone else.
5 Doug  · Great customer service, good value , no trouble making a claim . Very Happy.
4 Gregg C  · Called 1300 number to discuss a cheaper price but had no luck. No claims for years. Premium goes up and insured amount stays same.
5 Walter  · Renewal was an easy process. My comprehensive car insurance was very competitive when compared to other policy agencies and addressed my personal issues.
5 Tim Harrington  · Price competitive. Renewal customers treated properly. Hope never have yo use it.
5 Mick  · You kept the policy the same with no increase without me having to contact you and push for a deal.

I have rung Allianz three times. My lease company and employer require paid tax invoices for my car insurance. The policy details are not proof of purchase. Allianz can’t provide all the previous receipts so that I can Make reimbursements on my car lease. So I now have to change insurance companies. So frustrating. Show details

After years with Allianz, their handling of my recent claim has been a nightmare. Five months after paying my excess, I was chased by debt collectors because Allianz failed to process the payment to the third party. I had to provide my own proof of payment to clear the air, and I’m still concerned about the lasting impact this might have on my… Read more

Not even 1 star for allianz . Been paying for comprehensive car insurance for 2 years . Then I have car accident and my car was assessed as total loss. And my claim was rejected , they said because I have the refrigerator box at the back . for.and you should know what comprehensive insurance stand for . You can’t just get people’s money like thousands a year to pay for their insurance then say you can do nothing. Plus staff keep finding mirrors things to deduct your pay out at the beginning then they try to ask you so many questions to trap you. Then rejecting my claim. Everyone please stay away from Allianz. They are ripped off and so scam. Never again with Allianz seriously… I have properties-businesses and others few cars with NRMA. NRMA is the best, once you have accident they will help you to finalise as quickly as they can .

Thank you Allianz – My car was stolen and vandalised and the police refused a stolen vehicle report until they could identify the driver on CCTV about which I never heard! A Pleasant Experience – I have been a customer of Allianz for over 25 years and recently had to make a claim (first in 57 years of driving) because someone ran into the back of my car when it was parked in an ACROD Parking Bay at my local shopping centre. At first the female driver of the other vehicle admitted to being at fault by not watching when she reversed her… Read more

car. Unfortunately, she later recanted her admission of being responsible and refused to comply with a request from Allianz for further information.

I reported the incident to Allianz and it took a week for them to arrange repairs ($5080.00). I have a $500 excess on my policy but because of the fact that the other driver had recanted her statement the Allianz CSO waived my excess due to the length of being a customer (House - Contents - MV - Travel) and the vehicle was repaired within 7 days.

I must add that because I initially told them that I was not at fault, the car was in a disabled parking bay and I wasn't even in the car at the time I was offered a "Fault Free" replacement vehicle from the panel repairer. I was given the car but on the second day I informed both the car rental place and the smash repairers that the other driver had recanted her story so therefore I was not entitled to a "Fault Free" replacement vehicle and would therefore have to pay the rental myself, which I was happy to do. I was then given a bill for $380.00 which I thought was OK for the 6 days but no I was wrong. It turned out that the $380.00 was per day! I immediately told the company that there was no way that I was going to pay that amount per day and returned the car saying that it was a rip off. I then hired a car from a local rental company in Mindarie for $49.00 per day. So moral of the story, if offered a "Fault Free" replacement vehicle, check the fine print and let your insurance company know what the total cost of the replacement vehicle was going to cost. This is why insurance rates for MV's is so high when companies like those being offered at smash repair facilities.

I was very happy with the way that Allianz handled my claim.

21 months and no result – After filing a claim in July 2022 for the repair of several panels and a bent bullbar on my ute, I am still waiting on completion of the repairs. My vehicle was sent to the repairer towards the end of 2022 and was returned to me after a week. The repairer informed me that I would need to bring it back when they received the bullbar, assuring me… Read more

they would contact me.

After numerous follow-up calls and 18 months of waiting, my car was eventually taken back for repairs. However, after holding it for 10 days without providing any updates, I was informed that they did not have the correct bullbar in stock. They suggested fitting a different one, which I initially declined. Subsequently, when I agreed to choose a similar bullbar, my selection was rejected or I would need to pay extra. I paid $4080 for my Summit Sahara bullbar with top tube and internal light bar to be installed by ARB however my repairer told me they only had a budget of $2400 to spend on the replacement.

Throughout the entire process, I was never contacted with any updates and spent countless hours on hold to allianz. As I rely on my ute for work, this experience has been extremely frustrating and has impacted my ability to earn a living. I have already paid a $1300 excess and over $200 per month in premiums, only to have my time and money wasted.

In summary, it has been 21 months and I am still no closer to a resolution, and currently without the work vehicle my business relies on.

Note: the panel damage has been repaired but the bullbar is still bent and rubbing against the panels causing more damage. The accident involved hitting a kangaroo on the way to work

working, random tube under the driver seat. Outrageous that a CAR INSURER thinks its fine for to drive an UNSAFE car. No prompt responsibility or accountability from the Allianz complaints team - I've had to take my car to a dealership to fix the repairer faults and and have lodged a complaint with AFCA to try and get reimbursed for this. will be changing insurers at the earliest opportunity

Follow-up  · It was a long convoluted process supported only by the fact that I had screenshots of everything, I took my car to the dealership to fix the repairer’s damage and the dealership confirmed in writing that the damage occurred whilst in the repair shop. After all that Allianz finally refunded me the excess and new repair costs - I had also lodged a complaint with AFCA , now withdrawn.

Utterly incompetent customer service from start to finish - starting off from the ridiculous process while standing on the roadside with a wrecked car, police and ambulance... simply finding out what to do next took 35 minutes- now, want to deduct full year's premium from write-off valuation of car and not honour any other expenses like hire car,… Read more

additional travel expenses etc ...all from an accident no fault of our own and other driver admitted and acknowledged responsibility.

Any questioning of their poor service and attitude etc is met with "please don't use that tone"... "maybe you could call back"etc. Who should tow car?..where should they take it?... is the hire car approved? etc etc .. all things that are too hard apparently.

Try escalating... they simply don't care...

Moving ALL my policies from this group... once they have your money forget it. This is why insurance companies have a bad name.

UPDATE:...Wow, reading all these reviews it looks like som many people have had similar experience...staff on the phone who are not in Australia and have no idea about distance and regional towns, no proactive assitance whatsoever, no responsibility... just try to pay out as little and as slowly as possible "once the money is in your account the matter is closed"...regardless of whether you have claimed all xpenses, hire cars, etc...NOBODY checks whether you have actually completed your claim ...they just want to pay the minimum and move on...don't like it - talk to the complaints department. What an appalling reputation this company is building... quite deservedly.

Put my policy up on my car by 40% after the first 12 months and i didnt notice until 6 months later. Obviously the car went down in value after 12 months so its a rip off. Im sure most insurance companies do this but it very dodgy practice hence the 1 star. Show details

Raises insurance by 18% (4 times inflation) cannot explain why apart from "computer says so" and "Out modelling says so". Complaints department hangs up on you when you try to get them to understand a raise of 18% without justification is not a good look. Didn't have claims with them. Didn't have an accident... But hell yeah I'd also like an 18% raise.  Show details

Their response to my complaint showed a lack of professionalism and accountability. It felt as though customer care was not a priority, and the whole experience left me questioning their compliance with Australian Consumer Law.

Be aware: what seems like a smooth process upfront may end up costing you in stress, time, and money. I regret every dollar I paid for this policy. Look for alternatives — you’ll thank yourself later.

year, and a change of parking). After not receiving a reply from them more than a week later, and with only a few days until the policy renewed, I called them in my lunch break. The number supplied went to their onseller. I went through the press this button blah repeatedly, until it got to the last question, where I selected insurance... and was then transferred to allianz. I went through the press this button blah repeatedly again, until someone answered. I don't believe I have ever heard anyone speak that slowly on the phone, they were speaking so slowly that it wasn't easy to understand them, at first I thought it was some AI rubbish, but it appeared to be human, or thereabouts, just in very slow motion, perhaps some type of slug, or sloth hybrid, or a really old turtle, I do not know, perhaps it was bring your lack of oxygen to work day?

They asked me to identify myself, I did so, and then I told them what had happened, and that I wanted to make changes. They very slowly told me that I should have called them, I was wrong to email.

They emailed me, of course I replied, this is a financial transaction, I want everything in writing, I do not want to waste time talking on the phone to someone who might be getting dragged into a black hole, or has a curse on them, is on some kind of drug, or whatever the hell was going on with this guy. I told them I wanted to cancel the policy, they then asked me to identify myself... again. I hung up. So I have cancelled my policy, but because it was on the phone to an idiot, I have no way of knowing if they actually cancelled it. Making a claim must really suck.
