I have received the worst experience from Allianz that I feel that Allianze doesn't even worth a star. I made a claim in 31st Dec 2025 for a car accident in Port Lincolin. I have been with Allianz for the last 3 years with no other accident history. I waited for 2 months until the car was being assessed and was advised that the car was repairable.… Read more
I was told that I would need to wait for 2 weeks for the parts to be delivered to the repairer and the car would be fixed and returned to me. However, this has never happened. I contacted Allianz many times to follow up as the repair had been delayed over and over again. Allianz has never been proactive in keeping me updated, nor did it help to streamline the repair process. I have waited for another 3-4 months, and then I requested the repairer Garveys Crash Repair to provide the receipts of the past parts orders. Garveys Crash Repair didn't answer the phone call from my partner, therefore I had to contact Allianz for help. What Allianz had done was simply deliver the message, and did nothing to actually help me who was desperate in need of a car. Allianz didn't support me a service user, instead, Allianz told me that it's the repairer's right not to provide the receipts. Until today (24th June), I have waited nearly 7 months. In the meantime, the other car that me and my partner own had broken down due to the engine failure. The service for the other car has been booked in July as we were told that the repaired car would be expected to be repaired on the 26th of June. I requested Allianz to help me book the rental car with a discount on Sun 21st June, but it's service shut down on the weekend and asked me to contact Avis myself. And the result was obvious that I got turned down by Avis. Both me and my partner were devastated. We couldn't go to work, also we couldn't even get the grocery done. We also have many other commitments that require a car. I contacted Allianz again on Mon 22nd of June asking Allianz to cover the car rental from 26th of June till the repaired car returned to us. The receptionist promised to escalate the issue and gave me the referrence number. I contacted Allianz today (Wed 24th June) and hardly got to speak to the case manager Katrina, who has no sympathy and also did nothing to help. I recaped what had happend in details, but she hadn't even review my case in the first place when we had the conversation. I told her all the details and asked her to prioritise the matter. She simply told me that it's the standard procedure to review the case in 5 days which means she could only get back to me next Monday. I told her this was time-sensitive as I needed a car for work and some other important matters over the next few days (not lying, I have many things to address and feel very overwhelmed and devastated). Katrina had been repeating her words multiple times and didn't not want to help. I asked whether I could speak to another responsible person or a manager, she declined and said the manager would still give her the case and would make no change. There's basically no support from Allianz since the accident. Every contact with Allianz takes a long time to get through and it's traumatising. Allianz has been deducting premium from our account yet did nothing with the claim. I was also told that the previous requests and compliants I made were resolved on the spot, which apparently was not the case. I really don't know what to do to and I feel I don't have any choice the whole time. I have to face all the mess and loss resulting from Allianz's non-action. I also have to endure all the emotional meltdowns for feeling hopeless, yet I doubt Allianz cares at all. Allianz didn't provide any practical support to me, and this seems to be it's strategy to operate the bussiness. It shifts the responsiblity to different departments when I contact the service and asked me to stay on the line and further wait to be contacted. It offers no resolutions and just let time slide and let me suffer. I hope there is agency to help regulate Allianz's business as I lose my voice and choice as a customer. I hope other customers don't have to go through what I have experienced.

Readers - this is my experience .... there was a very important phone call that took place regarding an excess on a vehicle car insurance.. We all get the mandatory "the call is being recorded for training purposes" ... there has been repeated communication that the call in question, which changes the whole status of the claim "cannot be found",… Read more
the consent form for the call "cannot be found", the transcript which must be provided "cannot be found". Not sure how this can actually happen. It is the only call during this whole process which commenced in October 2025, that "cannot be found". Obviously, there are now further steps that have to be taken but the question still remains ... how can it not be found? Draw your own conclusion ....

You know that fraud has been committed in car repair, it poses a threat to my family and the use of filler material 4 times more than the legal limit set by Victoria law, I give you a chance, if you do not respond, trust me, I will reveal to people the dangerous repair process that exposes people's lives to mortal danger, and when I display a… Read more

Thank you Allianz – My car was stolen and vandalised and the police refused a stolen vehicle report until they could identify the driver on CCTV about which I never heard! Allianz, after appointing an investigator, and learning I was unwell, processed claim under malicious damage and settled claim without any further stress from the insurance company at all! were absolutely fantastic! Thank you Allianz! I haven’t purchased another car or I wouldn’t hesitate to insure with you!
A Pleasant Experience – I have been a customer of Allianz for over 25 years and recently had to make a claim (first in 57 years of driving) because someone ran into the back of my car when it was parked in an ACROD Parking Bay at my local shopping centre. At first the female driver of the other vehicle admitted to being at fault by not watching when she reversed her… Read more
car. Unfortunately, she later recanted her admission of being responsible and refused to comply with a request from Allianz for further information.
I reported the incident to Allianz and it took a week for them to arrange repairs ($5080.00). I have a $500 excess on my policy but because of the fact that the other driver had recanted her statement the Allianz CSO waived my excess due to the length of being a customer (House - Contents - MV - Travel) and the vehicle was repaired within 7 days.
I must add that because I initially told them that I was not at fault, the car was in a disabled parking bay and I wasn't even in the car at the time I was offered a "Fault Free" replacement vehicle from the panel repairer. I was given the car but on the second day I informed both the car rental place and the smash repairers that the other driver had recanted her story so therefore I was not entitled to a "Fault Free" replacement vehicle and would therefore have to pay the rental myself, which I was happy to do. I was then given a bill for $380.00 which I thought was OK for the 6 days but no I was wrong. It turned out that the $380.00 was per day! I immediately told the company that there was no way that I was going to pay that amount per day and returned the car saying that it was a rip off. I then hired a car from a local rental company in Mindarie for $49.00 per day. So moral of the story, if offered a "Fault Free" replacement vehicle, check the fine print and let your insurance company know what the total cost of the replacement vehicle was going to cost. This is why insurance rates for MV's is so high when companies like those being offered at smash repair facilities.
I was very happy with the way that Allianz handled my claim.
21 months and no result – After filing a claim in July 2022 for the repair of several panels and a bent bullbar on my ute, I am still waiting on completion of the repairs. My vehicle was sent to the repairer towards the end of 2022 and was returned to me after a week. The repairer informed me that I would need to bring it back when they received the bullbar, assuring me… Read more
they would contact me.
After numerous follow-up calls and 18 months of waiting, my car was eventually taken back for repairs. However, after holding it for 10 days without providing any updates, I was informed that they did not have the correct bullbar in stock. They suggested fitting a different one, which I initially declined. Subsequently, when I agreed to choose a similar bullbar, my selection was rejected or I would need to pay extra. I paid $4080 for my Summit Sahara bullbar with top tube and internal light bar to be installed by ARB however my repairer told me they only had a budget of $2400 to spend on the replacement.
Throughout the entire process, I was never contacted with any updates and spent countless hours on hold to allianz. As I rely on my ute for work, this experience has been extremely frustrating and has impacted my ability to earn a living. I have already paid a $1300 excess and over $200 per month in premiums, only to have my time and money wasted.
In summary, it has been 21 months and I am still no closer to a resolution, and currently without the work vehicle my business relies on.
Note: the panel damage has been repaired but the bullbar is still bent and rubbing against the panels causing more damage. The accident involved hitting a kangaroo on the way to work
Unjust premium increases – I have started it off with a 3 Star as I have no issues as such with what is called on my paperwork MAZDA Insurance, but the premium since taking it out in 2022 has almost doubled. I have no claims and no history same so no reason other than to increase profits or pay for other perhaps?. It started out at $73.88 inc GST and has now almost doubled… Read more
to $120PM !!. I did telephone them but apart from increasing my excess there was no other way they could reduce my prime they said.

I have rung Allianz three times. My lease company and employer require paid tax invoices for my car insurance. The policy details are not proof of purchase. Allianz can’t provide all the previous receipts so that I can Make reimbursements on my car lease. So I now have to change insurance companies. So frustrating. Show details
Follow-up · The company I lease with have been painful as they would not accept the usual insurance policy from Allianz as proof of purchase. Which is a tax invoice and states so on the document. They also would not accept the monthly email from Allianz stating payment. They required an actual reciept. The operators at Allianz were also difficult to deal… Read more

working, random tube under the driver seat. Outrageous that a CAR INSURER thinks its fine for to drive an UNSAFE car. No prompt responsibility or accountability from the Allianz complaints team - I've had to take my car to a dealership to fix the repairer faults and and have lodged a complaint with AFCA to try and get reimbursed for this. will be changing insurers at the earliest opportunity
Follow-up · It was a long convoluted process supported only by the fact that I had screenshots of everything, I took my car to the dealership to fix the repairer’s damage and the dealership confirmed in writing that the damage occurred whilst in the repair shop. After all that Allianz finally refunded me the excess and new repair costs - I had also lodged a complaint with AFCA , now withdrawn.

I’ve been very happy with Allianz insurance First they took off roadside assistance Then limited the replacement car Now they’ve taken off the discount for having two insurances with them. I will be looking more closely at my insurance options in the near future Show details
The call centre was one of the best I have dealt with. Very polite and they were very helpful on explaining all the pros and cons of the different policies. Also explaining all the different price options. Show details
Negative reviews
While the price only rose minimally the insurance covers a one year older vehicle which is worth less due to depreciation so when I compare the value of the vehicle to last years value the effective increase in price (cost vs insured value ) is well over CPI. Ultimately not going to be viable to insure in the long run. Show details
They wrongly accepted liability without even consulting me when a bus hit me. Without even consulting me. They DO NOT look out for your interests. I had to pay $600 excess for repairs from an accident that was not my fault. I was moving states so no time to fight it. Otherwise would have. Absolutely appalling - not looking out for their insured at all. Show details

After years with Allianz, their handling of my recent claim has been a nightmare. credit score. A loyal customer shouldn't have to work this hard to fix an insurer's mistake. When companies move their support offshore, the resulting disconnect often makes it difficult for customers to get efficient service.

for.and you should know what comprehensive insurance stand for . You can’t just get people’s money like thousands a year to pay for their insurance then say you can do nothing. Plus staff keep finding mirrors things to deduct your pay out at the beginning then they try to ask you so many questions to trap you. Then rejecting my claim. Everyone please stay away from Allianz. They are ripped off and so scam. Never again with Allianz seriously… I have properties-businesses and others few cars with NRMA. NRMA is the best, once you have accident they will help you to finalise as quickly as they can .
All my confidential data are handled by offshore people. I have cancelled my policy. I am not comfortable someone from India reading out to me my residential address, date of birth, driver license number. Almost Every step in my claims, all offshore people processed it. separate 90-minute interviews, asking me over 610 questions and demanding 16 different types of documents. I have provided everything they asked for, yet they continue to delay. I am an international student, and the financial stress and mental anguish this company has caused me is unbearable. If you want an insurer that actually pays out rather than interrogating you for half a year, avoid Allianz at all costs.

Utterly incompetent customer service from start to finish - starting off from the ridiculous process while standing on the roadside with a wrecked car, police and ambulance... simply finding out what to do next took 35 minutes- now, want to deduct full year's premium from write-off valuation of car and not honour any other expenses like hire car,… Read more
additional travel expenses etc ...all from an accident no fault of our own and other driver admitted and acknowledged responsibility.
Any questioning of their poor service and attitude etc is met with "please don't use that tone"... "maybe you could call back"etc. Who should tow car?..where should they take it?... is the hire car approved? etc etc .. all things that are too hard apparently.
Try escalating... they simply don't care...
Moving ALL my policies from this group... once they have your money forget it. This is why insurance companies have a bad name.
UPDATE:...Wow, reading all these reviews it looks like som many people have had similar experience...staff on the phone who are not in Australia and have no idea about distance and regional towns, no proactive assitance whatsoever, no responsibility... just try to pay out as little and as slowly as possible "once the money is in your account the matter is closed"...regardless of whether you have claimed all xpenses, hire cars, etc...NOBODY checks whether you have actually completed your claim ...they just want to pay the minimum and move on...don't like it - talk to the complaints department. What an appalling reputation this company is building... quite deservedly.
Put my policy up on my car by 40% after the first 12 months and i didnt notice until 6 months later. Obviously the car went down in value after 12 months so its a rip off. Im sure most insurance companies do this but it very dodgy practice hence the 1 star. Show details

If you have a CTP claim — do not trust Allianz to act in your best interest. Raises insurance by 18% (4 times inflation) cannot explain why apart from "computer says so" and "Out modelling says so". Complaints department hangs up on you when you try to get them to understand a raise of 18% without justification is not a good look. Didn't have claims with them. Didn't have an accident...
