Costs are up,but still lower than many others,and better than the cheaper policies.The policy was simple to set up on line,even for someone as computer-ignorant as me.No claims in the last year,but previous claims settled quickly and easily.Been with Allianz for several years,and will likely continue.
The renewal process was easy and straight forward, I have made one claim which was resolved with very little trouble the Alliance rep was extremely helpful and assisted throughout the claim
Beyond terrible service when claiming.
Under $3,000 repair claim. Took over 2 weeks to authorise repairs following assessment . Only got action after lodging an official complaint.
Will never insure with Allianz again. They don't care & don't communicate unless you call them.

Comprehensive car insurance 2021
I renewed my comprehensive car insurance. I thought I would be charged less to renew my policy for 2021, due to not having used my car as much in 2020 because of the coronavirus lockdowns in Victoria. Unfortunately, that has not been the case, there was a minimal increase to my policy for the current year. I did shop around, however, Allianz still provided the best value for money.
Never had any issues.
Since being with Allianz, I have always found them reliable, knowledgeable and helpful. This includes negotiating the annual cost each year, as well as supporting any claims I may have had
Bad customer service
Every year they increase premium around 10% even though the car value going down, never claimed anything from them but they don't care. Received renewal today so I called them to see what can we do about it. Customer representative was so rude. She interrupted me many times during conversation. Not happy at all

I called early this week to request a cover note for a new car I was buying and to arrange the cancellation of one policy and the renewal of a new one when we traded our car. Your rep was not able to give me a cover note and suggested that we renew at the dealership when we picked up the car. I asked what time you closed the office and was told 11.00pm EST and when I called at 3.15pm WST you were closed and I can not get insurance until Monday !
This is a very concerning course of events and I am not able to drive my car for 3 more days.
I have yet to agree to renew my insurance with you. I have tried to contact you several times without success.

I signed up to Allianz and had my car written off after an accident and I paid $6000 for a secondhand car and Allianz only offered $2500 market value as they said it was written off twice and the car was too damaged for repair. As they have been a pain to deal with and haven't been fair with their assessment they have lost a potential lifelong customer for good.

Very easy to navigate and pay
Allianz is very reasonable when it comes to comprehensive insurance ......but the reason I think their the best is when you need to make a claim they are fantastic! Not only do they make sure that you’re feeling ok after an accident but they take all the stress and hassle out of claiming. Allianz has an amazing call centre with employees that genuinely care and follow up at every stage..... Well done !

Can't insure for replacement value
Alliance have lowered the maximum agreed value below private and dealer prices by about 4 to 5K. second hand vehicles have gone up we cant replace the vehicle @ the price alliance stated. Even the Redbook price is on par as their maximum agreed value. I have spoken to alliance about this and it was like talking to a brick wall. I also have spoken to car dealers and they advised that insurers valuation is off. We are comparing like for like as we are looking at buying another the same as we already have. The prices that private and dealers are asking is about the same as when we purchased the vehicle 4 years ago. Time to choose another insurers.
Allianz: Yet another company blaming Covid-19 for sub-standard service
Don't expect Allianz to answer any of your calls. Need to make a change to my comprehensive car policy. Would probably take all of 5 minutes. Hung up the phone after 30 minutes on-hold after calling their 131000 number. Website blames delays on Covid-19. Pathetic excuse as all they really need to do is increase number of customer service personnel.
Excellent service at renewal
I had added improvements to my vehicle so when I received my renewal notice, I called, the extras were added, I was given the new premium (with a very tiny additional cost) and the revised renewal was issued straight away. It is fantastic to be able to call and speak with Australians who know their product and are always friendly and helpful. The premium was very competitive, and it is with a global insurer.
Quick renewal and had to make a claim after more than 30 years driving without incident before but they were very helpful and efficient. Car was fixed with no complications.
They changed the cover Without proper notification, and they did-not fix it when I asked them. Poor service. I called them several times but they sent me an email and just justified their actions.
Easy to renew the policy and talk to someone.
The policy was easy to renew and I think good value for money. I have had the policy for just over a year now. I have not had any claims, or needed roadside assistance.

Has anyone here had an experience of a write off with allianz? My car's wrecked by the hail. It's 5yo car but with immaculate condition, low kms. With its condition after storm, it'll probs be written off. I'm wondering how bad their payment is? How do they calculate the car's market value?
They use private market value, so you wont be able to replace it from a used car dealer. Plus of course you are down by your excess.
I had a rear end collision (not at fault). After six weeks of calling them, trying to find out what what happening with my luxury car, I was told it was written off due to a bent chassis. This was a huge loss for me financially. The assessor sounded very nervy and was overworked, I would say. The real test of an insurance company is how they respond to claims.
