do all the packing. He worked hard and continuously all day, but of course did not complete the packing. The next day a team was sent to pack the van, and were not well pleased to find that they had to complete the packing that had not been able to be finished the previous day. It was all rushed as they had other jobs they had to go to. They hurriedly threw things into boxes, not taking the time to label them properly. I paid for 3 months' storage and insurance in Sydney. As in the contract, I was able to call for delivery at a time of my choice, I called for delivery after 6 weeks. I was surprised to be told that the truck would arrive between 12 and 2, leaving inadequate time to do the unpacking that I had paid for. It arrived at midday. The staff worked continuously, but because of the late start, were unable to complete the unpacking by knock-off time. When the very professional team leader phoned in to the office I was told that I would have to unpack the rest of it myself, despite having paid for it to be done. I took the phone and had a discussion and was told that unpacking was complimentary - I said that I had paid lots of money for that compliment! I insisted that they were obliged to complete their side of the business contract. They reluctantly sent out 2 men the following day, who were also rushing to get to another job. They did, however, complete all the unpacking that I required. There was minimal breakage and some furniture was scuffed, but not worth claiming on. I tried to get my refund and was given a caution that I would have to pay an access fee as the van had had to park illegally in the street at the kerb right outside my apartment block. The movers had to carry my goods from the kerb outside, through the front doors to a lift right adjacent to my apartment, and some to a storage container just metres from the lift. There was no carrying up any stairs. Part of my liability for access, according to them is that "there was still a tramp into between the truck to the front door of the apartment that exceeded 25m - that is simply not true! The delivery occurred on 14 November 2025 and there has as yet been no refund. The storage co-ordinator had to enquire from Finance. After some enquiries, the message from Finance was relayed to me on the Wednesday that the amount would be reflected in my bank account on next Tuesday, nearly a week later, ie. today, 23 December 2025 and making some apology about what a busy time of year this is! Yes, for me too. No sign of the refund reflected in my bank account when I checked today. I sent the storage co-ordinator an email to that effect and requesting the name and contact of the CEO as I wished to escalate this appalling experience I am having - received no reply so tried to phone - got VM as "there is no-one to receive your call". All now on holiday, I expect, and the delay continues.......into the new year. I have moved many times in my life, including intercontinentally, and this has been the worst, the most stressful, from start to finish. And no, I would certainly not recommend them to anyone I cared about!!

Disgusted – Recently got a move with allied pickfords from perth to nsw. had a worse experience in my life and wouldn't recommend them to my worsed enemy.

Charged me more than I got quoted then then ripped off by their insurance company who mentioned nothing about different insurance.

Can see why they have fallen from no.1 ,wonder where their rated now.

probably wanted to save time, that at the end causing serval damages to my belonging including breaking my iron board, my clock hand and my TV box. Also, most of the work they were handling was just done by one person, including moving furniture that at the end causing scratches on my new floor. Because of the under staffing and small truck, the job was completed after 5:00pm although they started at 8:00pm. For this type of services, it should be only worth 1,000.

pics. As we did not insure those items, now we have to buy new ones. - moving staff at sites are ok. However, the staff in Sydney put seals with barcode at each items (parcel & furniture). Then when other staffs unload the products at our place in Melbourne, they never check barcode. If they don’t check to count each items, it is just useless process to use such barcode. Although I am still unpacking, so far no parcel are missing.

concerns. Ended up having multiple others come and go during the day, which lead to inconsistency with the packing, poor packing, boxes not marked at all and many just marked as "misc". One of the packers ate an apple and then wrapped up the apple core & put it inside one of our boxes, which was nasty mouldy surprise we found whilst unpacking (photo attached). No customer service whatsoever from the Branch Manager, [name removed] - phone calls and emails have gone completely unanswered. Damage that we were told was going to be reported back to the office never was. Both the upload and delivery were made on time (actually earlier than expected with no phone calls en route as we were told we would get). [name removed], the Internal Sales Domestic Coordinator, was lovely to work with & was responsive & helpful from the beginning but no response, apology or any kind of resolution whatsoever from [name removed], the Branch Manager or from our Moving Consultant, [name removed]. Received shipment on Mar 27 after it was held to ransom for 2 weeks over a $5k customs charge, $2,800 of which was for detention charges which were caused by Allied returning the container to port late. cover up the fact that the late container charges were caused by them and not a Govt agency. It wasn't until I got the Dept of Fair Trading involved that they admitted fault and deducted both the late detention charge plus the storage charge they seemingly prearranged to incur with the fumigators from the bill. They will use your goods as leverage to strong arm you into paying late charges levied on them. Packers either end were very pleasant to work with, issues were with both head office business practices. Allied International (US end) no better after trying to consolidate my shipment when I paid for single use then losing the other parties personal effects & finding them back at the SF warehouse. What a mess. I now have to go through the lengthy claim process to have my broken and missing items replaced. Have attached a photo of how some of my fragile items were delivered to me which pretty much sums up the whole awful experience.

planning and wrongly labeled etc with items missing AND SOME NOT EVEN PACKED 3) Destination Sydney not providing appropriate number of staff for unloading and helping us u pack when we are go through a major transition. Worst was that your UAE team starting from your sales person did not even know that only two people were provided to unload a lot of stuff. We were not told, and your support team did not even understand that was the contract between UAE and Australia

4) Items were missing and we had to throw a lot of items away like fans as they were dismantled and put in seperate boxes with no proper records 5) No duty of care and follow up to understand customer experience which most global companies want to understand how to improve their service, Allied does not want to 6) No follow up on my complaint as was promised that senior management will call me and it’s over 5 months

Took them to the consumer tribunal to have incorrect charges refunded – I paid 20K for an full container international move to Australia. The far end was fine- very fast, careful, easy to deal with. refund the charge if it was simple.

Delivery was extremely simple, the contractors doing the move were great, but then the company decided to keep the extra charges. They ignored emails or were flat out rude until I took them to the consumer tribunal.

At the tribunal they tried changing arguments multiple times, flat-out invented false information and pulled figures out of the air. Fortunately I had measured, photographed and documented everything, and was refunded the extra charges in full.

All the problems happened at the managerial levels, not with the contractors shifting boxes. So the problem isn't with some random box moving guys (who were great to deal with), the problems are built into the structure of the company itself.

and now just radio silence. It's a very distressing time for us as we have a family and a 3 year old toddler and an infant, they need their things. A 2 week shipping delay is one thing, but stonewalling us for 2 weeks is beyond comprehension.

Unable to deliver, extremely poor service – International move from Singapore to Australia that should take up to 4 weeks, they were unable to deliver within 8 weeks on account of no crews, we had to go and get our own alternative removalist to complete the job via collecting our 2 containers from their wharehouse. Now having only completed 2/3rds of the job they're only offering to refund a pittance. Be careful using Allied Pickford, extremely poor.

new home and started unloading, the marble top fell out of the truck onto the driveway, thankfully it was still in original packing so was not damaged. From that point on we found that our things had not been loaded very well. Lounge furniture they had disassembled were just left and electric recliners not connected. One very heavy chair which is an electric recliner, they left in plastic with the arms removed but not covered. Electronic equipment for sound system was pushed into boxes with no protective packing, just piled on top of each other, an amplifier was badly dented due to this. One of the TV’s was not in a box, just covered with a blanket. One of our wooden sideboards was damaged due to something heavy being packed on top. Also scratches on the dining table. Unfortunately the attitude of the guys upon arrival at our new home the attitude of the guys was one of “let’s get out as quick as we can “ We have used this company before but this move was not the quality of our previous experience. Disappointed- customer service was ok but poor logistics and damage to our property - do not use them – 2bedroom apartment moving to a small 2bedroom terrace - 10min apart. The team were polite and professional- but the logistics were not great - an error was made on the size of the truck needed for the job, resulting in us going back and forth in the rain to recover more possessions (clothes) & furniture. damage to the floors in our old apartment, and to our brand new floors in our terrace. The latter in several locations.

Accidents happen, but we had more than one scratch to both properties and I was told to get a quote (sorry several) to repair the damage 3 days before Christmas, whilst going back and forth to move furniture that should have been on the original delivery.

Not happy - when you screw up and pay this sort of money - you expect a quick resolution and compensation to fix the damage. I should not have to shop around and get quotes for true repairs.

In short, this was Not a pleasant experience.

In hindsight you expert a lot more care particularly when you pay this exorbitant amount of money to move people.

My suggestion would be save your money and use a cheaper a company.

Dishonest and a lack of trust – Moving a 4 bedroom townhouse from Syndey to the UK. The communications were poor before the uplift. However, the packing went well which included a completed and signed inventory. Then it all fell apart when we took delivery of our items. etc. The inventory was altered to show 'tablet error' or 'duplicate' against the missing items. Allied Pickfords was supposed to be investigating 'to improve their services', but they have simply washed their hands on the matter unwilling to answer simple questions and choose to skirt around the subject.

Having looked at other website reviews, there now appears to be a theft culture within the company, which is a real shame, as these reviews were not there when we reviewed prior to our move. It seems someone has been employed is simply stealing items. Allied Pickford management need to be aware of this a take appropriate action and not simply wash their hands on the issue. They should be honest and offer an appropriate level of compensation. 14 months on and the insurance claim for the damaged furniture is still ongoing. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

already sent and filled in. They ignore your shipping until you contact them asking what's going on. We also used their packing service and they wrapped one bottle of nail varnish into a ft worth of wrapping. Meaning in the end there were THREE times the amount of boxes then there should have been. Con artists! They also didn't pack what was asked and left valuable items behind that were not able to be recovered. How they're still in business is beyond me. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Whilst the removal of my items was a good experience with friendly and efficient crew, dealing with the sales team has been less than satisfactory. In order to compare quotes I requested a full quote to move my items from Sydney, store for 6 months and then deliver to my new address in Tasmania. The invoice I received did not state the surcharge applied for moving over the Christmas period, my request to be quoted for 6 months storage was not added due to ‘standard’ company process that I was later informed of as supposedly ‘storage is not added to an invoice because they are not sure how long the items would be in storage’ however I specifically requested the sales representative to be quoted for 6 months which was disregarded. Insurance is sold by Allied Pickford and payment taken by Allied Pickford however this fee is also not added to the quote/ invoice received so trying to compare this Removalist service to other services from a price comparison is not a simple task.

Needless to say the quote and what I have been charged is significantly different and did not include what I wanted which was not clearly explained before +$3,500 was debited from my credit card.

Today when requesting for my items to be moved to my new address, I have now received an invoice for an additional +$1,000 which was completely unexpected as I thought I have prepaid in advance whilst I thought I may need to pay little bit extra depending on the location of my new address, I was shocked at a +S1,000 invoice, please note I moved home contents for studio apartment. When I enquired with the sales representative why I was not charged for the services I requested, I was curtly told that Allied Pickford quotes/ invoices are transparent and she made no enquiry regarding where a misunderstanding may have occurred. After my experience ‘transparent‘ is not a word I would use to describe the quote/ invoice provided by Allied Pickford.

This service is too expensive to tolerate poor customer service and poor invoicing when customers are trying to compare quotes at the beginning of their move so to avoid unexpected charges. So disappointing when the moving crew and the Tasmanian Allied Pickford branch have been so fantastic to deal with during my previous move and this move. I would not be recommending using the Sydney branch of this service based on my experience which looks to supported by other customer reviews I have read.

Took over 3 months from Sydney to NZ, zero communication when I repeatedly contacted them – Worst decision using this shipping company. Took over 3 months to get my cartons delivered. complete lies. In fact, on the phone the sales person told me its more like 4-6 weeks for delivery.

I started university here end of Feb and ended up having to buy a new computer, clothes, study gear etc... because my entire life was sitting in their depot. It didn't leave Sydney until mid February.

I had 12 cartons from Sydney to NZ. The only communication I had with this company was when they wanted payment. As Soon as they were paid, communication stopped. I had to chase everything from the pick up date to paperwork and customs forms.

The 'move coordinator' never got in touch, never responded to emails, it was not until I rang the NZ branch and had a whinge did they put me through to Aus to speak directly with him. He had no answers and didn't care. Told me 'it should be delivered in the next two weeks'.

There are other movers who are better and give realistic time frames, I've used other companies before.

be ie the need for smaller trucks(steep driveway) and to mobilise enough men to move all the furniture and boxes in one 12 hour day not the 4 days he insisted on etc. When I explained that Allied Pickford quote wasn’t feasible as we had moved all the same existing furniture 4 years I was told that maybe I needed to find a different mover although he declared that they would would not do as good a job! I told him that at the very least the company I chose would be flexible and willing to work with us. I consider I made a lucky escape.

upon arrival in the US, the Schumacher men refused to take the boxes upstairs, left them in the garage, and did not remove any of the packaging. After numerous follow-up calls, the delivery has still not been completed properly. Schumacher has promised 3 times now that they would re-send men to finish the delivery - but each time, no men arrive, and no calls are received. This poor service has resulted in countless wasted hours of my time. Delivery still has not been completed properly, and I have not been compensated for this poor experience.

Allied - please re-consider your partnership with Schumacher.

little genuine interest in our family situation and disregard in the actual process of moving. Several items were either left behind (without consulting us) or got damaged during the relocation from NSW to SA. We have moved interstate several times in the past and in comparison, the Allied Pickford crew of removalist was the worst with their team leader providing an undeniably disappointing and unhelpful customer service. My advice would be to save yourself the hassle by using a more professional crew of removalist.

If you value your belonging don't use Allied Pickfords, they lost my whole shipment – I would not even give Allied Pickfords 1 star. I shipped a box of personal effects from the UK to Sydney last December and it arrived safely at Australian customs around March this year. locate it and it’s now classed as lost.

Regrettably I didn’t take out insurance because these were mainly personal effects but they were priceless to me.  In this box was every photo I had ever taken, important documents, family keepsakes I had wanted to share with my children.

I entrusted the box to Allied Pickfords for safe delivery as they are supposedly ‘The Careful Movers’ and world-leaders in shipping.

I hope this review helps others and warns of using such an unprofessional company.

Great moving experience – We downsized from a 5 bedroom house to a 3 bedroom apartment nearby and this involved sending some furniture to storage for future use by our children but also moving a large number of boxes of books, clothes, kitchen items to the new apartment. Hopeless - too many things "lost in transit" – Recommend a few things; 1.) NEVER label what is your boxes, on the boxes (if you label contents of boxes, some boxes are likely to "disappear in transit") 2.) destination as they are unloaded (If you do not check at both ends, you may find some of your goods have "disappeared in transit") 4.) In summary, do not trust Allied Pickfords at either end to pack and deliver all of your goods. Cannot give this firm even one star. Simple move from Sydney to Sunshine Coast and they just could deliver not everything as they should have.

July 2nd 2018 Update: Lost goods. Apathetic company. It is disappointing that a company which is SUPPOSED to be reputable can be so efficient in losing goods on a simple household move from Sydney to Gold Coast. Never use Allied Pickford again, nor will recommend them to anyone else. No response to initial complaint.

December 20th 2018 Update: TERRIBLE Sydney to Maroochydore - 2 BR apartment to house. Undoubtably the worst experience possible. Goods stolen exceed the cost of the move and the company is completely unresponsive to provide any assistance or offer any compensation. A horrible company with no ethics and totally lacking in customer service. Do not use this ALLIED PICKFORDS.

December 26th 2018 Update: Expensive mistake Will never use or recommend Aliied Pickfords. Not relaible. Small apartment ot 4BR house. Way too much lost. Cost to replace lost/ stolen goods exceeeded the cost of the move.

February 13th 2019 update: Exceptionally poor Simple move - 2Br apartment to 4Br house; Sydney to Sunshine Coast. The cost of the move was far exceeded by the cost of the replacement of the goods lost/ stolen by Allied Pickfords. This company is EXCEPTIONAL at providing TERRIBLE service and LOSING OR STEALING your valuable household goods. NEVER USE ALLIED PICKFORDS. THEY ARE A HORRIBLE COMPANY WITH NO ETHICS OR HONESTY. One star rating is being very generous.

September 3rd 2019 Update: Terrible experience. Worst in over 50 years of moves.

A simple move that Allied Pickford totally messed up. 2 BR apt to 4 BR house. Syudney to Sunshine Coast. Over $4,450.00 of goods stolen by Allied Pickford staff. When I look for some things at the new home, I realise that more and more things were stolen. Never again!

October 26th 2019 Update: Terrible experience

So much was stolen by their staff. Never had such a bad experience in over 45 years and 8 moves. A horrible company with no integrity or honesty. Go elsewhere as Allied Pickfords will not deliver your belongings.

Great Service – I had only a couple of days to move and Allied Pickfords were able to accommodate quote and confirm that day - we moved a 3 bedroom duplex with 2 guys who were just amazing and I felt very comfortable with all my possessions and had peace of mind that it would all be done with care and it was - very easy to deal with and a great long hard working day was done by all.  Show details

Upstairs to downstairs!! – My move was an internal move ie; furniture moved from upstairs rooms to downstairs rooms and also a few pieces which were held in storage for a few weeks and then moved to the Central Coast and the far North Coast. The guys doing the move were great and extremely patient and helpful as some of the furniture was difficult to manage down the spiral staircase. I would used Allied Pickfords again.  Show details

Definitely DO NOT use ALLIED PICKFORDS – I would absolutely not recommend Allied Pickfords Australia or UK. All our furniture was packed very badly and with no care at all. Allied Pickfords in Australia were understaffed and inexperienced. They had packed bedding in with shoes and computers that weren't packed with any protective packaging whatsoever. We are still waiting for the insurance company to sort out their reports and are not willing to replace our bed and mattress but have it repaired instead which the bed manufacturing company have said is impossible to do!

I have communicated all of this to the managers of both countries and have been offered a mere $AU150 compensation for our troubles which is just a joke frankly! By offering this compensation, they are basically admitting they are at fault but not willing to pay for all the real stress this has caused my family!

They have not replied to my last 5 emails after this and have chosen to ignore my concerns.

We only chose them because they had offices in both countries but this has proven no help whatsoever as they keep blaming the other one and will not take responsibility for their very poor service.

The only person who could do their job properly was the salesperson who came round initially and sold us an amazing package which of course they didn't live up to from the minute we signed the contract. This has caused us incredible stress and worry and would definitely NOT RECOMMEND Allied to anyone who is moving internationally.

January 6th 2018 Update: Do not use SIRVA- the insurance company for Allied Pickfords

We moved from Sydney Australia to Cambridge UK and the insurance company SIRVA we had to use with our removal company Allied Pickfords are not willing to take responsibility for the poor packing, incompetent packers and low quality packaging used. SIRVA will not pay for damages and breakages caused by the company they represent. They were very keen to sign us up for insurance but will not follow through with the promises made when signing the contract. I have written to many managers both in the UK and Australia and have not heard anything worthwhile and this issue has been going on for the last 6 months! This has been very stressful for us and the last thing we needed to deal with when we've just moved to a new country.

Not happy with SIRVA and honestly recommend you don't use them but take out your own insurance and do not even consider Allied PIckfords for your international move!
