Notice to Reviewers: Allied Pickfords has rebranded to Allied Moving Services.
major fail in duty of care several damaged items – Completely disgusted with the WA workers who loaded and the head office who are now failing to respond to my official complaint about damaged items. My move was from WA to VIC. The first bad signs came with Allied cancelling the job 2 days before pick up. More time and money of mine wasted on the phone (I pay for my calls) to fix that and because… Read more
they eventually did pick up a day and a half late everything else snowballed late creating other problems for me. My beautiful brass porcelain bed survived 13 moves and 40 years until Allied got their hands on it and now it is wrecked. How they managed to do this is astounding. I wrapped the entire bed in 2 layers of bubble wrap, one layer was removed, the layer remaining was shredded. The ceramic spindles were further wrapped in 6 layers of bubble wrap but the bed has been so roughly handled and jammed in without Allied blankets that the ceramic spindles are now crazed (very fine cracks), one of the main brass knobs has been bent out from the metal post again due to rough handling, and a metal piece split, 1 of the ceramic spindles were out of place but thankfully I was able to move them back in, but they are forever looser now.The brass knob and metal piece are repairable but Allied are failing to respond. Several ceramic plant pots again well wrapped have been broken. The coffee table, metal frame with a black coating has been scratched on the legs, my white display cabinet has had the handle broken off and paint damaged. Happy to take money for the move but not own their errors. No way would I ever recommend this company even if you were lucky to get Adam and Noah who were very good offloading in VIC. If you make a mistake you own it, apologize, fix it if you can - but not if you are furniture removalist apparently. They have never provided a copy of the inventory list and work sheet which they should have
Bad Service, no care factor – Moved a 3 bedroom home from Australia to NZ, and back again. Hard to get hold of on phones, took a week to respond to emails. They left some of our stuff behind in NZ! Poor service, no care factor. Have been waiting a month for a refund they agreed to, and still waiting for a response to our insurance claim! So much stuff broken, locks missing in… Read more
containers, latches snapped off completely. And they just don’t care. Even talking to managers and they don’t respond! Would never recommend these people, worst service. Late deliveries and pick ups, no customer service at all.
Worst company to deal with – What a horrible experience from all the team! Once they got our money, the care factor disappeared. Late responses, if they responded at all! Constantly asking for paperwork to be resent as they “misplaced” it on their end or were just too lazy. They even forgot to load half our stuff when we left NZ to move back to Australia, and didn’t even… Read more
realize till months after when our stuff arrived in Oz! It was just sitting in their warehouse in Auckland. No refunds given, despite actually not utilizing all the space we paid for in the shipping container. So much of our stuff was broken or damaged, but do you think we could get anyone to return our phone calls!! Would never recommend Allieds, you are Better off using monkeys. No duty of care from Allieds.

Service plus – We moved a 4x2 from Perth WA to a highrise apartment on the Gold Coast. From the initial enquiry to the delivery the whole experience was amazing. Special thanks to our Moving Services Consultant who was all over every detail, was prompt in responding to our enquiries and a complete pleasure to deal with Show reply
Seamless from start to finish – Couldn’t fault the professionalism and performance of everyone involved, very friendly and knowledgeable ! They moved Everything out of one townhouse, took it interstate and delivered it on time. I highly recommend them ! Show reply
Very happy with Allied – We moved from Sydney to Perth our furniture and a car was moved with allied. I was a bit worried after having really bad removalist in the past as well as moving through the covid pandemic but they were fantastic. communication from there office in QLD was great Haylee was so friendly and helpful. Best of all there was no damage to our belongings. My car was moved with Ceva it only took 2 weeks to arrive which was earlier than the 3 weeks i was quoted. They were also very helpful when i phoned to update details and my car arrived in great condition. We will definitely be using allied pickfords again for future moves.

Unprofessional and highly disappointing – 7 weeks since uplift and balance shipment not delivered. No updates whatsoever and every time I call they cant provide any updates. I spent 15k on this domestic move and get treated like its a favor.
Terrible Service – I chose Allied Moving Services for my interstate move and the experience has been beyond disappointing. I paid for a single delivery but ended up with a split load. Essential items were separated between the containers resulting in us having to borrow basic kitchen items and linen and buy towells until the other container arrived a week later. … Read more
One of two beds was only half delivered. They managed to include garden tools but no kitchen essentials. There were some clothes but no shoes. We specifically requested, and paid for, special packing for fragile and antique items. Half of these fragile items were packed very poorly and just included with general kitchen items e.g. two antique clocks were packed with heavy kitchen pots - one with a pressure cooker! The removable exterior clock parts were removed and scattered among other kitchen items. This despite us being assured by the Sales person that Allied knows how to pack old and antique items and also despite the packer telling us he was a specialist at packing old and valuable items. When I raised concerns about the split load I was told by the Operations Manager that they would investigate and come back to me. They did not. I followed up with email to the same Operations Manager and the Sales Consultant requesting investigation and a refund for the service I did not receive (but paid for). Still no response. I then followed the mediation option through the Product Review forum and was immediately contacted by a Customer Service Person who expressed disappointment at the service I received and that they would escalate the issue to management for investigation. 2weeks later and yet again, silence. I'm still waiting on a response from anyone at this company. Allied are quick to demand payment up front but once they have the money the care factor stops. Communication between sales and operations seems to be missing and customer service in responding to queries is non existent. The pick up and delivery teams were on time, friendly and helpful and that's the only reason Allied gets one star. If not for those teams, they would get zero stars. Certainly not the “careful movers” they advertise to be. Do not use Allied Moving Services - not worth the money.
I felt aggrieved – this really forced me to write this review – I tried to avoid writing this review for some time but people need to know what we went through and learn from it. We moved interstate to Victoria in November 2021. As early as August 2021, we had discussions with AP. A staff member JC, a very pleasant man, visited our two-storey, three-bedroom home in Perth to do an inventory of our personal… Read more
effects; he came a second time to finalise what needed to be packed. About a fortnight from the moving date ie 15 November 2021, we tried to contact JC to confirm that they are picking up as agreed, by phone, email, text. NO response – zilch – nada. It’s like JC, his office, mobile phone have all been swallowed by a big sink hole! As if moving interstate was not stressful enough. We had to scamper for another removalist, who was more professional and could accommodate us at short notice. To date we do not know what happened to JC. No apologies either. So this is what AP calls “clear communication.”

Worst experience we have ever had as customers – We moved from Queensland to WA. Initially great service, easily contactable, efficient, lovely staff to pack & move. When it came to the delivery, things couldn’t be more opposite. times over 3 days, we did not have one answered phone call, when we called the number on the website it would hang up.(apparently something they are working on because it is new ???) we were able to contact the Queensland team with replies, with no issue. Then couldn’t deliver until one week later, “we will put you on the cancellation list”, very frustrating after living on camping chairs for months.
Delivery day came, items missing, 2 couches, a table, a chair & a rug. They return later that afternoon with some Items. Still missing rug, chair & the cushions for our main couch. Rug & chair delivered. Apparently lost, not one follow up call, I have called weekly with no resolution. “We are still Hoping to find them” 8 weeks on since our delivery, 5 months since we left Queensland we still are missing out items. Also our empty boxes remain in our garage waiting to be picked up. Worst company I’ve ever had to deal with, wish we hadn’t paid them until we received the items.
A less than ideal experience – 4 bedroom house and a car from Perth to Wollongong. Not enough boxes sent with the packers the day before so packing was completed on the day of the move. Absolute chaos with both packers and movers in the house. Although I was told a second container would be needed, only one turned up, the rest had to be crammed into two hastily sent vans, to be… Read more
packed into a container at their depot. There was a bungle with the booking of the car move, so the dates I was given for departure and arrival were changed last minute which left me hundreds of dollars out of pocket when I had to change and extend rental car arrangements. The arrival in Wollongong of the first container was two and a half hours later than the stated time with no contact to let us know it was running late. After it was unloaded and we started to unpack, we discovered some of the fairly essential things that wouldn’t arrive until the balance of load came in a couple of weeks....the slats from my sons bed, our bedding and most of the contents of my kitchen cupboards among them. No date was given for its arrival, just a sudden phone call nearly two weeks later to say it would be there next morning and it wasn’t the whole balance of load, there’s still 2 cubic metres somewhere in transit. There were however some things that weren’t mine I had to send back with the truck that some poor soul is probably wondering what became of them. I’ve received a verbal apology from Allied and I am waiting to see if there will be any reimbursement of the extra cost from the car transport bungle. This is just a brief summary, there was more, on the whole it was a distressing experience and not what I would have expected from a company I had good dealings with in the past.

Disgrace. Held our goods to ransom to pay a bill they cannot show / justify. Paid and still won't deliver or answer why! – Moved good from LA to Perth. Local agents are ignoring our requests. Our shipment is 3 months late and they want to charge me for storage for their own delays caused. they use threatening agents offshore and hold goods even when they can't substantiate fake costs. Avoid at all costs. Our quote also started $2k less than final invoice and hats when we brought less stuff. Absolute disgrace.

Expensive, but not careful – damaged and lost items – Private move from Perth to Melbourne, then to Sydney, with 3 months storage at Allied Pickfords in Dandenong. I only had 9 cubic meters worth of goods; most items were packed in cardboard or plastic boxes. I packed everything myself and padded fragile items with bubble wrap, clothes, or blankets. This worked well for all items that were stored in… Read more
sturdy cardboard boxes. Some items arrived damaged, others didn’t arrive at all.
The good: The crew picking up and delivering my belongings was friendly, quick, and careful with the loading and unloading of boxes. Plastic covers for a carpet and mattress were provided by AP. [name removed] provided exceptional customer service. She is an asset to the company.
The bad: The inventory list the subcontractors provided while delivering the goods in Sydney was incomplete. I created my own inventory while packing up in Perth. This list allowed me to check if everything that left Perth arrived at its final destination. A carpet and a large plastic box were not on the list provided by AP. Luckily the subcontractors spotted the carpet during handover and added it to the inventory. The box is still missing and Allied Pickfords have not followed up.
AP uses contractors and subcontractors to handle moves. After getting quotes from several companies, I picked AP because they assured me that they do not use subcontractors. I paid a lot of money expecting my belongings would be handled with care, by professionals who received respective training. Alas, I could have saved myself at least $1000 and picked any other company. The subcontractors delivering my belongings in Sydney apologised for the damaged items, said they had been picked up in that state, and that AP does not allow sufficient time for items to be handled with care. As a result, the boxes are often thrown from one truck to another. This is indeed what many of the boxes looked like.
Many of the plastic boxes were damaged, so were the lighter cardboard boxes. It looked like the heavier boxes were stacked on top of the lighter ones. I expect a removalist to know how to stack boxes without damaging them – it’s their job.
A large vase was broken. It was wrapped in about 10 m or bubble wrap and had a ‘Fragile’ sticker on it. That was evidently not enough. There was another box with a ‘Fragile’ sticker that arrived damaged. Fragile items are not suited for a move handled by AP.
The large TV box arrived damp and dusty. It looked like it was left out in the rain or stored against a damp wall. Why any of the items would be left out in the rain is beyond me.
Communication was difficult once money was handed over. AP was friendly and professional while coming to my house to assess all belongings and provide me with a quote for my move. This initial level of service and professionalism was impressive. However, once I signed the contract and paid the invoice, the communication stopped. For instance, AP was supposed to call and confirm when my belongings would be picked up. When I emailed to follow up, they emailed back the invoice (which had been paid by then). No text in the body of the email, no answer to my question, just the invoice. I emailed again, cc’ing [name removed]. Finally, a response. Similar issues in Sydney. The operations team was supposed to call to confirm delivery of goods. They hadn’t, and it turned out that the delivery was delayed. Instead of delivering on a Friday, it was postponed for Monday. No communication whatsoever. Had I not emailed to confirm the date and time, I would have taken off a day from work for nothing.
Edit: Following the initial submission of this review, Product Review offered mediation. I received one email from AP asking for the job number and personal contact details. They offered to investigate. I haven’t heard back since.
Great move, no fuss! – Large house move and car from Perth to Southern NSW through Covid pandemic. No stress organisation, management, uplift and delivery. Shareen was extremely professional, not only accommodating to our preferred dates but her and the rest of the team were also able to give accuracy on dates and times which was important for our own logistics the other end and peace of mind. Very competitive on costs. We would use them again in a heartbeat.
Happy from beginning to end – From our first conversation with Tyler we were more than happy with the service we received. On the day of our move Tyler, Jesse, Paul and Nic did everything they could to make the move as smooth as possible. Even down to helping with suggestions as to where to place larger items of furniture to maximise light etc. Guys you were amazing and we cannot thank you enough. Professional job well done – I recently moved from Perth, WA to Batehaven, NSW. The move was big as we had lots of furniture and personal stuff in our 3-bedroom house in Perth. helpful, professional and responsive to all our needs, changes and requests. On moving day, their staff (5 of them) were on time and they did a fantastic job packing our stuff and loading it up onto the container all in just 2 hours! Despite the devasting bushfires in NSW at that time, Allied Pickfords did their best to stay on schedule. In this regard, the staff at their Canberra office, in particular Kymberlee Smith, made every effort to monitor the situation and deliver my stuff as soon as the Kings Highway (from Canberra to Batehaven) was reopened. It was especially commendable that they did so on a Saturday. And a week later, another of their staff, Jarvis Duncan, promptly organised the collection of the empty boxes at my request. And shortly after, my car also arrived safely and in good condition. All in all, I am very happy, satisfied and even impressed with the service quality, performance and professionalism of Allied Pickfords. Everything was on time and nothing was damaged. I will not hesitate to use them again for future moves.
Excellent service – We recently used Allied Pickfords for our short move from North Fremantle to South Fremantle. No stress – I moved a portion of my house from WA to NSW, boxing up my personal belongings myself. Allied Pickfords guys came on the day and at the time agreed and loaded my stuff into a shared container. They were fast, methodical and careful. In NSW the devastating fires were very close to us the day my gear was due to be delivered and there was no problem (or added cost) postponing delivery for a week. I would absolutely use them again Show reply

think any company could handle the packing to the customer's full satisfaction anyway. So I packed all up myself. What I particularly liked about Allied Pickfords was that they brought my expensive workstation in one piece. I'd recommend Allied Pickfords highly and I will call them up again next time I have to move elsewhere.
Just terrible – Allied Pickfords moved my household / shared 20ft container from Australia to Europe finally arriving in December 2018 . My stuff was stored in Perth WA , roughly 4 months . another contract . By that time I have been already back to Europe .Under this circumstances its very hard to find another company , I was just able to bring the new price a little bit down but the new price tag was still $2000 higher than the originally agreed one . On top of that they refused to send my dive tanks , not able to make a difference between a valve and a plastic dust cap . Without words . This problem was solved later but meant a lot of extra stress , very professional . Cant recommend this people .

Terrible service. They are rushed and don't care! – We moved from Perth to Melbourne. 4 bed house. The packing was terrible. They are just rush rush rush. couldn't believe it. And guess what you have to pay for them!!
All the stuff that wasn't in boxes were dirty or damaged. Seriously just about everything had some sort of scratch.
They are hopeless at putting stuff back together. Our TV was just placed back in its stand and not bolted in. It could have fallen on our 15m old. The desk had bolts stripped. No idea.
And you don't notice until after the storm and they lie and tell you to sign the paper work so they can leave.
They separated our stuff and it all came at different times.
The insurance is like pulling teeth.

A disaster – Used AP from Perth to Sydney. They sent one man to pack an entire house - obviously as a cost-cutting measure. He raced through the job, and when half way through told us he didn't have the right materials or enough of them, and would come back the next day. When he came back the removal truck had already arrived. So he raced even faster. I… Read more
suspected that the job was not going to be done properly when it came to a very delicate glass box, which I had specifically alerted AP to. They promised to provide special packing filler. On the day they didn't have any packing filler, so I had to provide a box of tissues to be used as packing material.
When we arrived in Sydney and we started to unpack we found that none of my rare books had been wrapped or packed carefully. An 1846 1st edition of leather-bound works of Francis Bacon had had the spine damaged and the label torn off. Many of the other rare books were damaged, dog-eared, crumpled, crushed etc. These books are irreplaceable. Many were signed by the authors, most of whom are now dead. I called [name removed] and sent her pictures of the damaged books. The next day she had not bothered to call me back. So I called AP head-office and demanded to speak to the CEO. I spoke to [name removed], and he indicated that the CEO does not deal with customers! So when the wheels come off, the CEO is too important to deal with customers! And we are only half-way through unpacking. The remainder of the potential damage is yet to be seen. We have had glassware smashed, and the fridge is not working.
When I spoke to [name removed] at AP head office, he said he would put me through to [name removed], operations manager in Perth, which went through to voicemail, and then cut-off. So I called back, actually got through to [name removed], and either the line cut-off, or he promptly hung-up. This is what happens when things go wrong with AP. [name removed], our contact, won't call - despite phone messages, emails and sms messages with photographs of the damage. [name removed], at head office, refuses to put anyone through to the CEO, because he or she is apparently so high and mighty they won't engage in anything 'customer facing'. [name removed] at the AP head office switchboard was not able to connect me to anyone at the Perth branch, and refused to put me through to anyone else.
When I called back now for the fourth time, and spoke to [name removed] again, he said that if no one is available to speak to me he was not prepared to escalate the matter beyond the Perth branch, and I would have to wait for them to call me back later. When I said I was not prepared to wait, and wanted the matter escalated, he said to me "that's not going to happen" and then hung up on me. Earlier when I said to him I insist that I be able to escalate this issue, and if no one is available in the Perth branch, I want to speak to the Perth branch manager's boss at head office, [name removed] said to me too bad, there's no one else available!
AP in an effort to cut corners provided ONE person to pack an entire house. It was obviously too much for one person, and the only way he could get the job done was (a) by rushing and (b) relying on me to provide packing materials. Now that I have had priceless books damaged, AP is nowhere to be found. They are NOT the careful movers. They are slipshod, unprofessional, and completely impervious to customer complaints. Their corporate culture is dismissive of their customers, and their customer service line is overtly contemptous. [name removed] refused even to reveal the name of his CEO. When I said to him I was going to blog this experience on-line his response was "go for it'.
I will continue to blog this experience, blow by blow.

furnitures. It results in breaking one of our bed frames where we suggested them to dismantle and pack which the guys don't agree or else we have give the owners manual. Delivery guys was very professional and give good care to handle the packages. Office response was very poor when contacted fro the damage telling the excuse that we did not had the insurance. We don't understand the point, it should be the responsibility of the movers to handle the packages of the clients not the clients. Why should the client should pay for the damage caused due to miss handling of the packages by movers. It looks like "movers will take the money and deliver to clients premises but the responsibility of the damages falls to client side even if the goods are miss handled by movers. It looks like the responsibility of care to goods moved fall to client who pay for the move. So have to clients take insurance so that movers can handle the goods as they like. Do not need to bother about the damages. It looks conning to us. All together we are 50% happy with the move. Also uplift people did not put enough care for the protection of the door channels which damaged the rails of the glass door while moving packages out of the house where we had to repair it and couple of flower vases broken and the artificial flowers were not packed properly causing them to bend and made unuseful again. Tried to talk to the company rep from the uplift point but he handballed the issues to others telling they no responsibility of any damage.

We won't move again without them! – Moving house is listed as one of the most stressful life events. Allied delivered a superb, careful service from start to finish and reduced our stress levels immesurably. Shocking unprofessionalism – My daughter works for a company that has to relocate its employees and they use Allied Pickfords. When she told me this I thought that was a good enough recommendation. repeated assurances that my prized piano would be safely delivered. I was repeatedly told there would be no problems. What lies! Not only was my piano badly damaged but pictures frames were smashed, bedside light were broken, book cases were damaged and things like a mattress topper were missing. To add insult to injury they told me I had to pay an extra $2000 to get my goods released, citing some clause about insurance. When I told them I had already paid the insurance which was nearly $3000 they told me I had to pay another $1000 odd to get my goods released from the depot. When I drew their attention to the original proposal and quote and asked them to point out where this extra insurance was entered they told me they were sorry but they had mistakenly omitted it. I was held at ransom for this extra payment. In other words, if you don't pay we can't release your goods.
I would not recommend these people to anyone. Their professionalism and competence is not what you would equate with a supposedly international company. Speaking to other people I would strongly recommend a smaller company and not an American based one like Allied Pickfords. A very depressing experience for me.
