Paying a bill should be one of the simplest tasks on any website. Instead, it feels like solving puzzles just to give you my money. The image challenges are slow, sometimes unclear, and if you get one wrong, you’re stuck doing it again. It turns a basic task into a frustrating experience.

When I raised this issue, the suggested “solution” was to switch to direct debit, not to address the poor design or the unnecessary friction. That’s not fixing the problem; that’s avoiding it.

Security is important, but there are far better, more user-friendly ways to handle it without repeatedly interrupting legitimate customers. This feels outdated and poorly thought out.

Please fix the actual issue instead of making customers jump through hoops to access and pay for their own accounts.

residents are charged using other people’s historic data. This is clearly inaccurate in a building where tenants move in and out.

Despite written requests, Altogether has failed to provide a full audit trail or written explanation, preferring phone calls instead of formal responses. They’ve also charged for air-conditioning use even though ours has been switched off at the circuit breaker for months.

I’ve lodged a complaint with the Energy and Water Ombudsman QLD, as these issues raise serious concerns about data integrity and billing transparency.

everything. But it kept happening. They’d send me an email saying the direct debit failed and that I needed to pay immediately. I paid through BPAY, as I always did every time it said "failed".

Today, I’d had enough. I finally called them—and the most frustrating part? They blamed me.

They claimed there wasn’t enough money in my account but refused to explain why. When I asked for clarification, the woman on the line (whose name I wish I had) said, “There’s nothing I can do. The system just shows the payment failed—referred to the customer. Just check with your bank.” Then she had the audacity to mock me, saying, “Maybe you just don’t have enough money, that’s why we can’t charge you.”

Let me be clear—I called to resolve a recurring billing issue, not to be mocked, dismissed, and humiliated by someone who clearly couldn’t care less. She was rude, condescending, constantly interrupted me, and made absolutely no effort to listen or help. It felt like I was talking to someone who didn’t want to be there, just waiting to clock out. No professionalism. No decency. No respect.

I even asked if I could switch utility providers because I no longer want to deal with this company. Her response? She literally laughed and said, “Haha, no—you can’t. We own the building.” So because you’re a monopoly, you think you can treat customers however you want?

Altogether, you are hands-down the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. You hide behind your monopoly, take zero responsibility, offer no real support, and treat your customers like they’re disposable. You don’t care—because you don’t have to. And that’s not just bad service—it’s disgraceful.

Anzac Day long weekend.

It is simply impossible to provide a poorer level of customer service and literally engaging a flock of parrots to manage services would result in a better outcome than engaging Altogether Group.

If you have a choice, NEVER use this company.

No help for pensioners – I am elegible for a pensioner discount but you must apply for the discount before the bill is generated. How can you apply before you know your account number, details and how much your being charged. No help from company contact just told to pay the bill because thats how they operate. Not good enough. SCAMMERS – be aware this is a scam we have been getting $400-$500 monthly bills in a 2 bedroom apartment and when asked to have the issue investigated they have told us that nothing is wrong and if we want someone to come and check for us its going to cost us more money do yourself a favour and go with literally any other provider to avoid this company!! Show details

Lack of Transparency and Extortionate Rates! – I never use AC due to health concerns. I am constantly being charged for usage even though the unit is switched off at the mains. I've since been told usage is 'apportioned' across the entire building so, whether you are a single occupant, family of 4 or - like myself - don't use AC at all you're charged the same. properly and fixed it. Even with aircon around $200, my thermal bill for heating water is still only $150 per month. I do laundry, wash my dishes in the sink, and have a shower every morning - yet still only pay $150 for hot water heating. Many owners are paying only $30-40 and are very happy with the service. Please give this organisation a pat on the back, they are doing a great job. We have owners looking to extend their contracts and I hope they do.

thermal bill for heating water be at $150 per month. It had been somewhere around $30 but then they claimed the meter was not working properly. I feel like the are conning me and trying to recoup money from their own incompetence. I don't do laundry as I have a laundry person, I live alone so wash my dishes quickly in the sink so no dishwasher and I have a shower every morning, how on earth that warrants $150 to heat hot water. I found many owners saying they pay $30-40 and others like me being lumped with $150 bills which they say is an estimate. Please report this organisation to the utilities ombudsman, they are disgusting. We have owners looking to get their contract terminated and I hope they do.
