Do not recommend Amart Ballarat. We purchased a $3000 outdoor setting and made a 9 hour round trip to collect. Upon unboxing we noticed our aluminium table had a big 80cm scratch right down to the bare aluminium, as well as multiple other deep scratches across the top of the table. met with a rude email with no sympathy, responsibility or apology for the inconvenience. We were offered a measley $200 instant refund or we could fill out an online form with customer care for them to investigate. We then spoke with the manager or the Ballarat store who also offered no apology and were told to do the same thing. I was noticeably upset about the situation over the phone and the staff made zero effort to help rectify the situation. We are yet to have a solution and currently still have a scratched “brand new” table.

Update: Amart are now wanting us to make the 9 hour round trip AGAIN with a baby to drop off and pick up a replacement table because they conveniently “Do not deliver to our area”. After all of the hassle, organising to deliver a new one should be the least they could do.

A few days later item was half price – Bought a sofa, $1300 on Thursday it was in stock and arrived on the Saturday and on the Monday was reduced and on sale for $700. Surely the salesperson knew the sale was coming and could have said “hey just wait a few days and it will be half price” they’ve lost me forever Show details

Terrible quality “outside furniture” – Products have not lasted 12 months before paint has started to peel off all items purchased. Ballarat store stated 3 year warranty. Warranty department declined fault and that peeling paint isn’t included in warranty. Definitely wouldn’t recommend their outdoor furniture for outdoor use. Show details

Poor response – I bought a queen Dream Elegance 4500 for my daughter October 2021 and the mattress has collapsed. Her partner on my behalf contacted the store and was requested to take photos that do not show the problem with the support and they have denied the claim. writing for that. I honestly think it’s not good enough. It was offed to take the mattress to the store to see how bad it was but this was not accepted. I bought two mattresses from Amart approximately a month apart and one has no defects but this one is sinking in when laid on. Will never buy from there again. Total disappointment to say the least. There warranties and guarantees mean nothing

Unable to pick up item even when in stock – Purchased some items online, clearly marked in store available for pick up. Arrive to pick up the items only to be told that the items are in stock but we have to wait a few days to pick them up even though the store has them in stock. I repeat again, the store has the items in stock, but I am unable to pick them up for two full days. Try and figure that one out. Show details

Unreliable product, doesn't last long – The leather sofa I purchased in 2018 did not even last for 5 years. The leather skin started to come out and I could see the tan back material. My warranty claim got rejected citing it as a normal wear and tear. Very unreliable cheap and nasty product. I will not recommend Amart product to anyone nor I would buy again from Amart Show details

Do Not Buy – Purchased couch through amart, arrived damaged & out of shape. Gave partial refund on damage was told the couch would go into shape after few times sitting on it. That has not happened after months! Wouldn't have bought Amart Furniture if I'd have known the product was so average & cheaply made. Bought 2 couchs, still have one got a full refund on the other. Not good enough, covid delays are no longer a valid excuse, we've had more than enough time to learn from it. How hard can it be for a company of this size to provide realistic deliver times?

A couple of weeks delay I understand, but we're talking about another 2 months now! This is clearly not a once off, just read all the other reviews.

I feel bad for the staff that have to deal with this as they do not control the unrealistic delivery times that people are sold on. There is no chance we would have purchased knowing it was going to take 4 months to deliver (maybe more if they delay it again!).

$3500 no longer in our bank account with absolutely nothing to show for it. Considering the other reviews on here I shudder to think what will happen if there's any issues with the sofa when we do eventually receive it.

My recommendation: don't buy from Amart unless the product you are purchasing is in stock in the warehouse OR if you're willing to wait months on end.

Personally we'll be going shopping and trying to find a new sofa somewhere else that is in stock. If we can find something we like we'll be requesting a refund, can't wait to see how difficult that process might be.

10/05/22 update - They have now updated the expected delivery to mid June to early July. What a joke.

15/06/22 update - We are now in mid June and have not heard from the store. Online chat tells us it is now delayed until mid August. We'll be contacting the store to confirm and arrange a refund if this date is correct.

Poor build review – purchased a full dining suite. Unsure if due to covid or high demand. Suite has been delivered over period of months. Have had part missing, screw holes not lining up and doors overlaping to unuseable condition. Have gone into and telephoned staff several times. They have been sympathetic, apologetic and offered solutions to provide a possible positive outcome. Annoyed with manufacturer. Happy with staff efforts made at franchise outlet. Show details

them why did they not tell me this in the first email? How hard is it to make sure your emails contain this important information? They replied that it was because of Covid19 and they are short staffed and could not supply staff on those days to open up for despatch. Fine, understandable but why on earth can't they just add one line to the email? How many other people are inconvenienced by this stupid oversight?

So I went on Saturday to collect, there was just one staff member there to assist people, I had to wait 20 minutes while he sorted another customer out. Heaps of sales staff in the store but one person in despatch? Come off it..terrible away to run a business.

meh it'll do. Whilst the staff at Ballarat were very professional and willing to pick it up it has been most inconvenient as I'll still have to go instore to claim my refund. I am highly disappointed and will never be buying from amart again.

Good for what you pay – We ordered 2 set of couches for our new home. One leather and one fabric along with a rug. The whole process was smooth at super a mart Wendouree. They helped us with interest free payment options very quickly. The delivery of product was exactly on the advised date and time. two hours late before I inquired about delivery time frame.

After multiple phone calls to costumer service and response of I will call you back in 5 minutes (I did not receive a call back).

Four hours from initial delivery time I received a call stating that they will deliver within 30min (nil apology or reason for excessive delay). It finally arrived over 1 hour after being advised of the within 30min time frame. I would recommend Super Amart place procedures to call customers, listen to what they say, and follow up on any actions that the customers are informed of. Furthermore Super Amart should drastically improve their internal communication.

pulling ripped stitches, as they were getting bad. Went in today and spoke to David, store manager, and team. Within minutes of speaking to then, I was given a 100% credit back on our lounge towards a suite of my choice :)

Expecting my new lounge Tuesday! So happy with the outcome. And I'm glad I got the lounge doc warranty and scotch guard. Really just shows that you never think you'll need it... Until you REALLY need it!

Went into the store in Ballarat and spoke to the store manager who told me to wait a week and a half to 2weeks from all these other delays I've been getting which really ridiculous, it's been a month now waiting for items that I have fully paid for. What annoyed me was, I was even given an option to cancel the purchase and I only have to $50, which was kinda stupid to me for them to even say that. Clearly that is really really BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.
