Failure to authorise identity for days on end. Preventing access to services. Meantime burning up your money. Merrily frittering away your 28 days of access. You could train a cat to look and see the identity image uploaded is clean. A person would take all of ten seconds. Let alone AI. Which could do it in a nano second. No excuse. Obvious intention to trap customers without access. Whilst burning up their time availability. Show details

Amaysim has affordable mobile phone and NBN plans HOWEVER when we had frequent NBN outages, some lasting more than 24 hours and the last one lasting indefinitely, we found AMAYSIM’S NBN TECHNICAL SUPPORT WAS SADLY WANTING. You have to trade text messages with Amaysim’s representatives. You cannot talk on the phone. They go through very basic… Read more

I was pushed to amaysim after my provider circles closed in April. The phone with the sim broke in April and so there has been no usage. I started cancelling in May they only confirmed it in July. I'm still being charged now at the end of October. 6 months and $230 later for a sim thats never been used. They've also been charging extra for excess… Read more

data top ups of a sim card that is at the rubbish tip. I literally had $33 until payday in 3 days time and amaysim just took $25. There is nowhere on the app or browser to cancel. I have to wait for someone to contact me back. Same as last time when i cancelled. I've attached screenshots of (marketing) emails confirming the cancellation and trying to lure me back, all whilst still taking money from my account (screenshots 3 & 4).

support was tedious through chat or email. At least Amaysim has a phone number, And I answer their phone and they try and help.

But whilst I can make phone calls, Watching a video or googling anything is extremely difficult if not impossible. Most of today I haven't been able to even Google anything or send MMS messages. And I'm in the middle of town. I will be swapping to aldi Telstra because it's just too unreliable.

you can't purchase for less so I could see if the Optus network in my location had improved since testing 10 years ago via my employer. Now waiting for refund. Why on earth would I give my credit card details? I've been cheated before. Amazon prime trial. Before the trial period ended. I removed my credit card details. Two months later, I noticed I my credit card was being billed. So they keep your details in the background. That has to be against the law. Fingers crossed Amaysim stick to their word and give me my money back.

Follow-up  · Received refund within 3 days. I honestly didn't think I would received it but glad I did.

did not come through. It took ages to get past the Chat Bot which was useless and get to a person. The plan's price is increasing giving me extra data; all that will do is bank up more data!!! Thanks

Absolutely awful. First increases the plan from $15 to $25. When we try to port to another provider makes it impossible to transfer number. Keeps asking us to get new sim to approve transfer. Very un customer focused company. Cancelled my 3 services with them now.. Show details

Follow-up  · I had to get a replacement simcard to finalised the transfer and took close to a week. I am moving all my accounts away from them. Had been a customer for over 6 years and they couldn't be bothered help..

Excellent support. I rang Tuesday as an unknown SMS was on my bill. It was from Philippines & likely to be a scam. Helpful staff suggested a new SIM card & I could keep my number. It arrived 24 hours later & easy to instal. We have also used global roaming when overseas & excellent value. Would highly recommend to anyone. We have been a customer since January 2015. Show details

I have been using Amaysim for over 15 years, and it remains one of the few telco companies I would genuinely recommend. I’ve used their roaming services throughout Europe and Southeast Asia, and each time it has worked without any issues. Their plans are reasonably priced for what you get. My only criticism is that they have recently removed their budget plan, which is a bit of a shame. Show details

Fantastic service provider. Had my phone service transitioned over from another provider a year ago and was offered Amaysim. Now 12 months later my plan is still being offered at the 25% off rate for the next 12 months and had no coverage issues or call drop outs. Data banking is brilliant also. Very good quality and price competitive provider. Highly recommend Amaysim! Show details

I realise this is for mobile service but just want people to know that I have had their NBN now for three weeks and have had more drop outs in that time than I have had for the past five years. G coverage everywhere else except in my own home and After a few emails trying to explain the towers have been removed they told me my nearest tower was Toorak West over 6 kilometres away and then told they use the Optus network and there is nothing they can do. and if the coverage isn't acceptable to go to anther provider.

Yesterday I had full coverage at home and I was elated - however waking up today - NOTHING

So after nearly 10 years with AMAYSIM all I can say if cr#p service, cr#p reception and hopefully they read reviews and do something about it. Cause my friend is with Vodaphone and its just as bad and Telsta is something I cant afford

If you’re thinking of transferring your number to amaysim, don’t. My experience has been nothing short of a drawn-out, frustrating mess. I’ve been trying to port my number for over a week, and after contacting customer service around eight times, I’m no closer to a resolution. Every interaction ends the same way: empty reassurances that a “higher… Read more

team” is handling it. This so-called team is completely unreachable, which makes the whole process feel like a black hole where issues go to be ignored.

What’s worse is that nothing happens unless you relentlessly chase them. If you don’t follow up, your case just stalls indefinitely. That’s not customer service—it’s passing the burden onto the customer.

Yesterday, I was told there had been an error with my transfer code and that I’d need to start the entire process again. Now, I can’t even receive the code at all. Instead of fixing their own issues, they’ve conveniently shifted the blame onto my previous provider, which feels like a standard excuse rather than a real explanation.

Overall, this has been a complete waste of time and energy. The process is disorganized, the communication is poor, and the support is ineffective. If you value your time and sanity, stay away from amaysim.

Things were ok until last few weeks when I kept getting disconnected. I tried to contact them. Then I got a strange call saying "Chinese or English". lot for delivery and ordering medicine and food and groceries. I have limited mobility. I also lost a phone number that I had had for over 30 years meaning I will have to update a lot of services and medical specialists etc. This was unconscionable conduct even if I was overdrawn. BUT I wasn't. My account had more than ample funds, have no debts, own my home with no mortgage, my debit card is still valid and working and the account had direct debit setup for payments. I also according to my phone, wasn't over my internet usage limit or close to it. In other words no reasonable excuse to disconnect my service and cause me a lot of stress. I believe that they just wanted to get rid of lower cost accounts. I believe that they have done this to other people as well. So if you find having a phone and internet connection useful in 2026, don't want to be cut off unexpectedly especially if you have to answer correspondence within a deadline, catch buses, contact friends and family or work, order medicine, food etc, don't use Amaysim. I honestly feel like complaining to the Ombudsman about this behaviour. If you try to contact them you'll get chatgp that hangs up on you after you have answered several questions. No explanation again, just arrogant attitude.

Today, 11 May 2026, they withdrew another payment from my account! I rang them and after a 'discussion' with 'Adam' they said that they would refund my account $50 . We'll see. If not Ombudsman.

My advice. If they ever phone you, try to record the conversation as soon as you can as they will not act in a reasonable manner until threatened with a complaint to Ombudsman. They will try to twist reality to a version that they like.

Preserve your sanity and DONT EVER USE AMAYSIM. I was a legacy customer transferred over from Circles internet.

Amaysim is a NIGHTMARE!!! Avoid like a plague. I swapped from Optus with my existing number, and they left me without a phone completely on an important business trip and completely wasted an afternoon of my life. Their tech is just awful. finally get hold of their support. They blatantly lie to you, saying there's nothing they can do until you receive your physical SIM card, leaving you stuck without a phone for days.

I finally got to talk to a manager who was at least helpful and got it sorted out, but this was hours and hours of my life wasted.

Funnily enough, the manager was a pro at talking to extremely upset customers, suggesting she's had a lot of experience. At least I'm grateful to her; otherwise I'd have had to screw around and somehow re-establish my Optus service.

I am ex-finance. I think these companies raise a bunch of money, then spend most of it on marketing and virtually none on tech. Hence the diabolical experience.
