Overall sentiment regarding Amaysim is mixed, with a distinct divide between customers who enjoy affordable bundled services and those who encounter operational friction. While several users report satisfaction with pricing, introductory discounts, and international roaming, a significant volume of negative feedback highlights frustrations with customer support responsiveness, activation hurdles, and unexpected plan adjustments. Potential customers may find value in the competitive rates, but should carefully review account management and support accessibility.
Very disappointing customer service. I called support last weekend and specifically requested that my case be escalated. I was assured that someone would call me back by Monday. It is now Tuesday, and I have still received no call or follow-up. Promises of callbacks mean very little when there is no follow-through. Based on my experience so far, the customer service has been virtually non-existent.
The customer service provided by this company is consistently appalling. This is not based on one bad call; it is the experience I have repeatedly had virtually every time I have had to contact the call centre. The representatives routinely talk at you rather than have a conversation with you. They will speak continuously for minutes at a time… Read more
without pausing to let you respond, ask a question or correct something they have misunderstood. Trying to interject often makes no difference — they simply continue talking over you.
On one occasion, I actually muted myself and put the phone down to see how long the representative would continue speaking without receiving a single response from me. She continued for more than five minutes. I could have hung up and she seemingly would not have known the difference. That is not a conversation and it is not customer service.
On my most recent call, the representative misunderstood what I wanted and was about to disable my voicemail, which I had not asked him to do. I tried three or four times to interrupt and stop him, but he repeatedly spoke over me. Eventually, I had to raise my voice and speak over him simply to prevent him from making a change to my service that I did not want. Customers should not have to yell just to be allowed to speak.
Another recurring problem is that when representatives do not know the answer to a question, instead of saying that they do not know and checking the information, they provide information that is simply not true. This makes it impossible to have confidence in anything you are being told.
Customer service requires listening. Representatives need to stop talking, allow customers to participate in the conversation, actually listen to what they are saying, and verify information rather than inventing an answer when they do not know. The current experience is extraordinarily frustrating and consistently falls well below an acceptable standard of customer service.
Would give less. Tried to activate card. Four times with ID drivers licence rang told use portal again again no luck. What worries me is where is the licence gone. Also responded with ID via email they sent. Told they did not receive. Were is it going. Got frustrated Would not use ever again. Show details

Just trying to activate a new sim, should be pretty simple.. I had to login to my existing amaysim account, approve via sms to make changes to account then asks for an ID verification. Only problem is you are unable to enter your ID details, white comes over the bottom of the screen with an amaysim logo and you can't see or enter anything. These… Read more
problems have been going on for years with amaysim, I thought when they recreated the website a couple years ago they may have fixed things but they're just more tedious.
Crazy setup and a time-wasting process. The recharge process is unclear. You receive a text saying there is money in the account, and recharge - but it is extremely vague with no instructions. I have $40 in the account from “Add Credit,” stuffup where i kept adding credit to try and buy but couldn't add it to my phone number, this will expire… Read more
annually. Then there is “Get Voucher,” but you cannot buy a voucher online with the credit sitting in my account.
There is literally no user flow. Credit is sitting in the account, but I have to somehow top it up to the phone number. My God, whoever designed this system are muppets, absolutely excrutiating process and this is Day 3! for a $15pa prepay number going into Day 4! and they are Optus resellers anyway.
The SMS messages provide zero instructions, and there is no available help or support—it is offshore. Then I receive emails with the subject line “RE: DVS” asking to verify my ID before I can speak further. Yes, submit new ID. Wanted to connect to chat, i had it sitting there for over 1 hour waiting and waiting and waiting - no connection. You can ring, but it would have been good if the chat connected before the phone lines closed.
Absolutely terrible. Could not advise anyone to waste their money and will be taking my own experience up with the telecommunications ombudsman! Show details

I was pushed to amaysim after my provider circles closed in April. The phone with the sim broke in April and so there has been no usage. I started cancelling in May they only confirmed it in July. I'm still being charged now at the end of October. 6 months and $230 later for a sim thats never been used. They've also been charging extra for excess… Read more
data top ups of a sim card that is at the rubbish tip. I literally had $33 until payday in 3 days time and amaysim just took $25. There is nowhere on the app or browser to cancel. I have to wait for someone to contact me back. Same as last time when i cancelled. I've attached screenshots of (marketing) emails confirming the cancellation and trying to lure me back, all whilst still taking money from my account (screenshots 3 & 4).
I have been with Amaysim for 2 weeks. the first for an internet plan. had enough problems but the clincher was that they didn't accept my internet medicare reference. (i am a 69 year old pensioner in a nursing home because of various medical conditions). fortuntely that was sorted after 3-4 emails. Then i bought a phone plan to transfer my number… Read more
from telstra. 12emails and a 44min phone call later still no serviceable link. Telstra plan coming to an end i might revert to Telstra. Amaysim was recommended by family. I SHOULD HAVE READ REVIEWS

Total scam. I was on vacation in Oz for 1 month and went online to find a temp sim card. I unfortunately came across these scammers. I paid $15 for a 28 day sim only to find out afterwards that it will take up to 14 days to activate (basically… Read more
useless). I contacted their customer support to cancel it but she pretended not to understand. I thought I will wear the $15 and bought another one at the local supermarket. I now find out months later they have been taking $40 a month from my card ever since. Obviously they had sneakilly signed me up for a auto renewal a a higher rate somewhere in the fine print. I went online to cancel and there is no where to cancel it. The phone line (which is charged) kept me on hold forever without answering before i hung up, and the chat line does not answer either. Total scams - stay away!
Follow-up · Yes i eventually got throught to them and they refunded the money. They took the money from my credit card.
Mistakenly Ordered a Mobile phone last night and wanted to cancel the order within few minutes. So send an email to cancel the order the same night. Next day called them to cancel. But they refused to do so. Still its not been shipped. They could… Read more
easily cancel the order. But they refused and the customer service person I spoke to was more like recorded voice. A chat robot would have give. Better resolution. After being with them for the last four years and first time went to them with a problem and got fed up.
Follow-up · Upgraded my plan and still had issue, gave up and switched provider.
If i could put zero i would, dont even think of going with this company, they have been taking monthly payments out of my acc for a year with no number i have attached to it, I have called twice to stop payments and be reimbursed both times they say… Read more

Five stars for the customer service team today! ( sorry I can't remember her name)She was very professional and explained everything in a way that was simple and understandable. It is rare to get such clear and helpful support. Thank you for the stress-free experience!"

I've been a mobile phone customer for a number of years. No problems over that time. Bought their global roaming when visiting Indonesia. There was a problem (not their fault) and customer service was great. My experience has been nothing but positive. Due to this have just shifted my nbn to them.
I have an Amaysim plan and added International roaming before my trip. Travelled to NZ, Tahiti, Hawaii, USA, Canada and Fiji with faultless, easy connection in each country. A +++ service. I have used travel sims before but this beats that hands down.

Phone says 'emergency calls only' for 3 months now. Have called Amaysim about 12 times, they have not fixed the issue just give me the same run around time after time. Have tried everything they have suggested, changed to new sim etc but nothing has worked. I suggested that the sim card has been hacked but they said it hasn't. They refunded my… Read more
money but I'm still unhappy I want my number to work - I have had that number for 25 years, now it seems it's gone forever. I can't move the number to a new provider as I cannot receive messages (which is required to change providers). I didn't want to or choose to join amaysim, I was forced to them as VAYA was bought out by amaysim. They even started charging me $4 a month more without my consent or any notification. I will call telephone ombudsman as I won't get any help from these clowns.
Minus 5 stars - I spend one hour with customer service 'assisting' with activation of a sim card for a new phone number (changed the number twice already but its a looooong story, loss of money and time spend even before and I have tried to give them another chance). The number which I purchased 2 months ago still remains inactive. I have… Read more
purchased 4 new SIM cards as one by one and NONE of them works during activation. I am really p-ed off wasting my time with Amaysim. I needed a spare number, I paid for a number too, but it looks like this is the crap...st option I could have chosen. WASTE OF MONEY WASTE OF TIME USELESS CUST SERVICE (another one putting you on hold while they attend to others and no knowledge how to help at all). Meeeeeeeeeeeeeerde! ps. Perhaps Telstra is not to bad after all ;)
Joined AMAYSIM , within 7 days of being on service I received 4 advert emails and 2 texts How exhausting Customers? No. CashCows? That’s what they think. Can’t wait for the next 20 days of spam. Insanely disrespectful. Show details

Received an "insufficient funds" notification from Amaysim upon plan renewal, i immediately deposited the required amount into my bank account for payment. other subscriptions e.g. Microsoft & Spotify that allow me to "Try Again" but not Amaysim, you're punished for a simple oversight.
This is where agents go when they are fired from their other jobs to work at Amaysim and they demostrate why they got fired. In order to speak to someone you have to give your details in order to connect to an agent. However, everytime you speak to them, they will never read what you wrote, you will have to repeat everything you said again. You… Read more
have to wait 5 - 10 minutes for a response but if you don't sit on the app and wait for you, they will disconnect you. A message comes up and says that "we will remember what you said and pick up where you left off" - do you think that it does. Absolutely not. Even when you explain the problem to them, they will ask you multiple times what the problem is. I can't wait for AI to take over their jobs - they provide literally 0 value to the community and looking it up on google is better. I have no idea if they are located offshore, but I would put money on it despite having all aussie nick names. You can literally just tell by their absolute incompetency that they are offshore, there is no way that if you were speaking to someone in Australia that they would literally be this basic.
Their plan fees have more than doubled over recent years. No more budget friendly plans at all - so now they're no better than any other provider. Amaysim service is no better nor worse than any other OPTUS network provider. The problem is I remember when they were $10, $12 and then $14 a month but now the minimum is $25 for 28 days. budget friendly that's a cash grab. I left AMAYSIM and moved to Spintel which are only $1 cheaper at $24 per month, but at least offered special of $14 for the first 6 months. After 6 months I will just look for another cheap OPTUS network provider as I have ZERO reason to be "loyal" to ANY company, and I consider AMAYSIM rip off merchants like every other provider so....

People to Use Google.(I Haven't For Years) I've Been With Amaysim for Years. Old App Works Fine ( For Now) To Me , Its Discrimination Against Non Google /IOS Users. Maybe Time For A Change?? As Amaysim Speeds (Rural) are quite slow. There ai Help is Useless , now off shore call centre , who know Nothing , didnt even know about App Update till I Told Them . Even one star is too generous for this joke of a company. I lost my phone recently, bought a new one and tried to download an eSIM. I had an old email on file and couldn't get access to my account. I then spent the next nine hours on chats, calls and was asked to send sensitive documents over email because they don't have a secure way to send documents. The offshore support centre is horrific to deal with. Never again.
I tried to use it on my latest phone and it didn’t work I’ve had it for 4 days and the sims been in I still have no mobile data . 0/10 don’t recommend never buying from amaysim again. Show details

I wouldn't have been disconnected from contacting amaysim support team if it wasn't for them charging me to call them every single time when an issue occurs they always debit your card which I'm on a prepaid on the Go plan they should be free of charge when calling their support line not charging their customers I wouldn't have wasted a whole… Read more

Can't talk to a human (567 just send you around in circles of different automated messages. When you have trouble and "chats" restart if you have to work while waiting for someone to attend. When you finally get an agent you need to wait again as they respond to multiple people at the same time Show details
If I could give Amaysim no stars at all because service to cancel a Mobile phone service with them is totally and Utterly trash, all I want to do is cancel my phone service with them completely right now
I used amaysim for a while, but I found the 5G network was not very consistent in city based like Sydney. It would often switch between 5G and 4G, unlike some Telstra-based MVNOs that provide a more stable connection. If network reliability is important, I would recommend a Telstra-based provider instead. However, amaysim is still a good option as a secondary SIM for occasional calls, texts, and light internet usage.
