Wanted to test a service provider using Optus network. Purchased prepaid service. Proceeded to activation instructions online. Name address etc required for activation. Required credit or debit card details. No way! I've already paid for 28 days as you can't purchase for less so I could see if the Optus network in my location had improved since… Read more
testing 10 years ago via my employer. Now waiting for refund. Why on earth would I give my credit card details? I've been cheated before. Amazon prime trial. Before the trial period ended. I removed my credit card details. Two months later, I noticed I my credit card was being billed. So they keep your details in the background. That has to be against the law. Fingers crossed Amaysim stick to their word and give me my money back.
Tried to change address multiple times online, but at no time did the system state that was not permitted online. I then contacted support via email and was told I had to contact them to change my address. Why waste peoples' time and not tell them that in the account? So then I called and after mucking around for over 30 mins, the "support" person… Read more
cam back and said they no longer accept a separate billing address. She then had to go away again, then after 40 minutes it must have got too hard for her and disconnected. Add to that I am right near a large 5G tower, people on Telstra get 5G coverage, and I'm supposed to but I don't. False advertising?
Amaysim is great price wise but horrible for coverage. Currently changing SIM cards because I am so sick of being on 4G, having no service and my phone calls not ringing through. Especially when working and living in the heart of Melbourne, where you would expect to have no issue with coverage. The price has totally not been worth the terrible… Read more
coverage and honestly it’s worth the extra $10 to have a sim through a company who runs off any other tower.

Amaysim has affordable mobile phone and NBN plans HOWEVER when we had frequent NBN outages, some lasting more than 24 hours and the last one lasting indefinitely, we found AMAYSIM’S NBN TECHNICAL SUPPORT WAS SADLY WANTING. You have to trade text messages with Amaysim’s representatives. You cannot talk on the phone. They go through very basic… Read more

Absolutely terrible. Could not advise anyone to waste their money and will be taking my own experience up with the telecommunications ombudsman! Show details

I was pushed to amaysim after my provider circles closed in April. The phone with the sim broke in April and so there has been no usage. I started cancelling in May they only confirmed it in July. I'm still being charged now at the end of October. 6 months and $230 later for a sim thats never been used. They've also been charging extra for excess… Read more
data top ups of a sim card that is at the rubbish tip. I literally had $33 until payday in 3 days time and amaysim just took $25. There is nowhere on the app or browser to cancel. I have to wait for someone to contact me back. Same as last time when i cancelled. I've attached screenshots of (marketing) emails confirming the cancellation and trying to lure me back, all whilst still taking money from my account (screenshots 3 & 4).
I have been with Amaysim for 2 weeks. the first for an internet plan. had enough problems but the clincher was that they didn't accept my internet medicare reference. (i am a 69 year old pensioner in a nursing home because of various medical conditions). fortuntely that was sorted after 3-4 emails. Then i bought a phone plan to transfer my number… Read more

support was tedious through chat or email. At least Amaysim has a phone number, And I answer their phone and they try and help.
But whilst I can make phone calls, Watching a video or googling anything is extremely difficult if not impossible. Most of today I haven't been able to even Google anything or send MMS messages. And I'm in the middle of town. I will be swapping to aldi Telstra because it's just too unreliable.
I have an older 180gb plan with unlimited calls to some overseas destination. The first year there was a sale (two years ago) and 1 year plan cost me around $60 after Cashrewards. Last year I asked the renew plan at $100 and they did! I asked again and they gave me $100 plan for 1 year which is the cheapest around ever! Data is also banking and… Read more
now I have a total of 350gb which I probably don’t need. Really happy with amaysim. It was a bit annoying to get discount applied this time as I had to contact them multiple times but eventually it was all sorted. I hope next year I can get renewed at the same cost or at least discounted. I’m a light user and don’t need a lot of data.

did not come through. It took ages to get past the Chat Bot which was useless and get to a person. Thank God data partly worked so I could use Whatsapp and Facebook for contact with the outside world. Also: I have 100s of GBs banked up. Why can they not be used for roaming??? The plan's price is increasing giving me extra data; all that will do is bank up more data!!! Thanks

Absolutely awful. First increases the plan from $15 to $25. When we try to port to another provider makes it impossible to transfer number. Keeps asking us to get new sim to approve transfer. Very un customer focused company. Cancelled my 3 services with them now.. Show details

it was using vodafone lines, it wouldnt work. So i was forced to buy a new phone even though i am reitred and use mostly conected to my wifi. They changed my $10 service to $25 and just informed me its going to $35 while my other service was $40. i ported my work number over to a new provider and then tried to cancel my remaning service which theyve made impossible. When you google they say open chat, when you go to "manage plan" you can do nothing. which is weird as cancelling would be part of management. I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Amaysim. First, my mobile plan was changed without any written notification. No email, no SMS—nothing. I only realised something was wrong when I looked at my bank statement. When I logged into the customer portal to figure out what happened, the entire dashboard turned out to be a… Read more
non-functional shell. None of the buttons worked—not even the “Feedback” button. It’s basically a decorative webpage. Meanwhile, the public-facing website for attracting new customers is perfectly polished and fully functional. The contrast is hard to ignore.
To make things worse, when I tried to report the broken portal, I couldn’t reach a human being. The “customer service” is just an AI chatbot that gives irrelevant answers, repeats itself, and then asks if its nonsense reply was “helpful.” When I said “No,” it simply responded with “Sorry, I couldn’t find an answer to your question.” Asking for a human or a supervisor just triggered the same loop again.
Overall, this has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had with any mobile provider. If Amaysim can’t maintain a working customer portal or provide real support when something goes wrong, it’s hard to trust them with something as essential as mobile service.
I've been with amaysim since 2018, and I'm still on my original plan. Find me another service provider - phone, internet, insurance, gas, electricity, whatever - that hasn't increased their price for the last 8 YEARS. It just doesn't happen. I feel like I must be costing them money at this point. If you want to compare plans from different… Read more
companies without the 'blah dollars now but then we give you blah bonus data blah blah please sign up with us blah' nonsense, calculate the actual cost of your plan in price per GB, which is the ongoing cost (not the initial cost, unless you are *actually* going to swap plans) of your plan divided by the data in GB, and if it's more than 55c/GB then I'm paying less than you are and if you were my friend I would tell you to swap to amaysim. I don't even have a referral code I just really really really really really hate companies that try and get away with sneaky price increases, and I want people to have quality goods and/or services without having to become experts in consumer law.
I do understand not everyone here has had positive customer service experiences, this is very valid and may depend on your individual circumstances, as I haven't used amaysim for international roaming or other custom use cases so maybe I have just been lucky. I do currently have 2.3 TB of data rolled over, which I've found extremely helpful when commuting, hot-spotting, moving house, etc., and I've always been able to easily top it up if needed. I've personally never had a problem getting in touch with their customer service, I find both the app and website are very user-friendly, and I have had no issue with the 5G network coverage. 10/10 ty amaysim pls never go out of business! <3
NBN FTTP connected and we chose Amaysim as our provider because we already used amaysim as our mobile phone provider. This reduced the monthly fee. We needed support to get the internet to function as we were using our previous router. I called AMAYSIM support. 1. They answered very quickly 2.My hearing isn’t fantastic so accents can be a problem… Read more
BUT the technician spoke slowly and clearly. Yes he had an accent but because he spoke slowly and clearly there was not any problem understanding each other. I asked where he was located. It was the Philippines. He said his name was “Freddie” but of course that is his work name, chosen to make it easier for us. 3. He was incredibly patient and had a great sense of humour. We worked through our router problem together for over 90 minutes. We suggested we purchase an amaysim router but he said NO, it’s ok we will solve this. 4. At no time did I feel like an id*ot. If one approach failed then Freddie found a different approach. I was soooo impressed with the assistance Freddie provided that I had to write a review to let other know how happy I am that I chose AMAYSIM as my Internet provider. Our speed pre FTTP was 34mbs/sec now it is 534mbs/sec. That’s even more than we’re supposed to get. I have been using AMAYSIM. as my mobile provider for 13 years now and have always had amazing service both in Australia and also when using their very reasonably priced international roaming .

Changed our plan so it is $10 dearer without any kind of communication or permission. No emails or text message. (I searched previous messages). I called them and they said they are changing their plans, and there was nothing they could do. However, they did offer more expensive plans. Show details
I have been with amaysim for about 14 years and have finally switched to another provider. Within a single price increase, my plan went from $15 per month to $30 per month. A 100% price increase is criminal. I contacted them last month and said I refuse to pay double. They said they would give me $20 for 6 months as a compromise, I agreed. One… Read more
month later, they sneakily tried charging me $25 instead of $20 as agreed. I do not have the energy to deal with these types of shifty corporate greed games every month. This is how large corps end up tanking and they deserve it. Keep your greedy hands out of Australians wallets.
Amaysim (optus) has changed my plan without the need or want for the extra services. I used to be on 5gb plan and dont need their $25 plan. Everything was fine until Optus took over amaysim and started gradually increasing the prices. In 2025 Optus got a $100M fine and have increased the prices accross the board again within 3 months of the fine.… Read more
The fine was for exactly the same reason, for selling products that people dont need or want. They are doing the same to their existing customers and they ll do it again. Bas!!
I have been using Amaysim for over 15 years, and it remains one of the few telco companies I would genuinely recommend. I’ve used their roaming services throughout Europe and Southeast Asia, and each time it has worked without any issues. Their plans are reasonably priced for what you get. My only criticism is that they have recently removed their budget plan, which is a bit of a shame. Show details
Two Amaysim accounts fully paid and in credit - both suddenly disconnected and with no warning. Live chat asked for multiple ID's - which I supplied. Then they demanded a 'selfie' which is biometric ID and part of the coming Digital ID system. That Biometric system is intrusive rubbish and I will NEVER submit to it. I have a new telephony provider. Show details
I am so very disappointed in Amaysim that merged with OPTUS some years ago. After 15 - FIFTEEN years of having been loyal to them, my SIMCARD plan has been changed to $20/35GB without ANY notice beforehand WHATSOEVER as I do not even use 5GB/MTH, being an elderly. So much for having been LOYAL to them for 15 years!! Unacceptable behaviour from AMAYSIM/OPTUS..!! Show details

In short, I used to love Amaysim but they've really gone downhill the more they've built up their customer base. Internet speeds and connections have been… Read more
really off, their site is slow and clunky, the online chat is slow and takes almost 30 minutes to get in touch with someone, it's become a nightmare honestly. I'm actually considering changing providers, I used to recommend them to everyone I met, now I'm telling people to avoid them at all costs. I can no longer recommend them as the company they once were. Their good data plans are pointless if you can't even use it due to outages and problems relating to data network connection issues. Pointless. Very disappointing.
Fantastic service provider. Had my phone service transitioned over from another provider a year ago and was offered Amaysim. Now 12 months later my plan is still being offered at the 25% off rate for the next 12 months and had no coverage issues or call drop outs. Data banking is brilliant also. Very good quality and price competitive provider. Highly recommend Amaysim! Show details

Called up to change my date of birth and provided my passport. Date of birth listed on the details page, should be an easy fix right? Well one would imagine so, but for amaysim it wasn't. Somehow they screwed it up, and incorrectly listed my date of birth. More hours on hold just so that they can attempt to rectify their terrible service.
