Not enough explanation
I wanted to choose another plan with Kogan and used the recharge within My Account for the first time. The last time I bought a new plan off the website and a voucher code was sent to use when I needed to recharge. Unfortunately using the recharge made the recharge happen IMMEDIATELY and so I lost 3/4 month of data from my current plan. There was no warning that this would be what happened with my selection. On ringing Kogan all they could do for me was to give me an extra 10 days on the 365 day plan I bought and an extra 1GB of data which is a lot less than what disappeared from my current plan. I had thought that using the recharge would create a voucher code m=for me to use when the I needed to recharge.
Kogan failed to provide adequate information regarding unauthorised charges to my card
I have been a Kogan user for the past 3 years and have had no troubles at all with the company. Unfortunately, beginning in August 2019, I have been receiving charges to my credit card for add-on data packages that I was not purchasing. I contacted Kogan in early September advising them of this mistake, to which they replied that I would receive a refund for this mistake, as well as advising that this would not happen again. Several weeks followed with no action on their behalf, at which point I got in contact with my bank and organised a refun...d externally through their services. I never received any further correspondence with Kogan following my initial complaint. I have since been charged every month for the same $15 data pack, despite their assurance this was a one-off incident. Upon calling Kogan support, I was greeted with an unhelpful and unempathetic individual who advised me that I had selected an automatic recharge system for $15 data packs on my account. I had previously reviewed my account details and although "Automatic recharge" was enabled on my card, the context for this option implied recharging my prepaid plan at the end of my contract rather than individual "add-on" data packs. The individual supposedly giving "support" seemed disinterested in my case and dismissive of my dissatisfaction with the service. Needless to say I will not be recharging with Kogan again and will be warning friends and family to follow suit.
Very slow internet - heats up my phone
Network coverage ok so far in town of population around 11,000. Getting the internet is unbelievably bad. I have had the plan for six months and can't wait until it finishes in another six months. My phone heats up a lot trying to get signal (even though it says full bars). This does not happen when I get wifi internet. Loading up basic websites takes a LONG time. iPhone works very hard and heats up & this is probably not good for its battery life or - more importantly - your self being near a phone. Customer service is really minimal. ...Expect to do this by emails only. No number to call. They do get back to you but it's pretty much like taking Tiger Airways or Jetstar instead of a more expensive airline. Very DIY and you need very low expectations.
Auto renewed without permission, plus extra charges I am trying to recover.
As a few other members have made mentioned here I have issues regarding the auto-renew. I purchased a prepaid package for my Dad and set the service up the last Xmas. He is not really good with IT-related stuff.
He was receiving emails that his phone service would be cancelled so I purchased another package for him. To my surprise the package auto-renewed, this wasn't set up and there were no emails to state the account would auto-renew.
Before I received the C+P response from Kogan I have just talked to the "Customer Complaints" departmen...t which is in India. After a ten minute argument with this guy on the phone, Kogan still has my money for both accounts. I tried to escalate the issue with the Kogan member who would not give me his name or employee number. He told me he has no supervisor and happy that I make a complaint with Telecommunications Ombudsman. Is there where we are at with today's Telecommunications allowed to operate in Australia?
Poor porting service and customer service after multiple phone calls
Requested a port of a number from telstra to kogan, so far three phone calls three different operators. Thought today was different but end of the day and phone still not ported to kogan. Not correspondence, no call back even through multiple times i have expalined the situation. So with sunday tomorrow no doubt another day of waiting. So far not impressed with service and response to the phone calls i have made to the various operators for kogan
Been with kogan mobile few months had no problems so far good coverage. And use kogan for nbn and no problems great speeds. Got few of my friends and family with kogan.
Kogan management seriously need to be sacked
What started out as a great service has become a woeful experience,. the website is a nightmare to navigate and they refuse to change it. When you purchase a top-up for your service, it quickly becomes a dead-end of what to do next as it does not automatically apply to your service, you have to call their Indian call centre and then be spoken down to by their arrogant Indian staff who actively treat you like your an idiot often parroting lines from their it department that actually make no sense both logically and as an explanation for why thei...r service is not working. Oh, and it's never their fault. The way they charge the data download needs serious investigation. I downloaded 3gb in one day and maxed out the 10gb data plan. When I complained, they claimed that my phone had been downloading updates so I checked and no updates had been applied for over 30 days. Furthermore, The size of the last update was only 23mb and no updates had ever been larger than 36mb since purchasing the phone. Someone needs to investigate their data charges against the pre-paid plans..this is the third time we had run out of data on a 10gb plan when we used 2 to 3 GB max and all in one day. Fun fact, if you hot spot to your laptop, they claim that uses much more data and they have to calculate it differently. What a load of absolute rubbish and barefaced lies. Data size is data size no matter the source and download of 2gb on a laptop is no different to download of 2gb on a phone. That's why its called 2gb and not 10gb KOGAN!!!! stop lying to your customers and you may survive the rapidly growing list of seriously unhappy consumers who will never trust you again. In case anyone is wondering, Kogan as a company had more complaints against it in 2019 than any other online company and if you read the reviews, its always for terrible customer service...always.Whatever you do, do not purchase any of their electronics and actually expect a reply to a warranty claim or a request for a refund, you will be waiting weeks if not months for a reply and it will be a battle that most just walk away from in the end. And now for the kicker, do you ever wonder who sold your personal data to every possible internet advertiser and scammer in existence, its Kogan. As soon as you sign up for anything with Kogan, your data will be sold and your inbox will be full of crap you never agreed to nor asked for and you will be driven to the point of considering cancelling your email address. Nice one Kogan, clearly you care about your client's privacy and treat them with complete respect. how about you give us your personal emails and well return the favour? To the owners of kogan..seriously, sack your management who are making these key decisions to run your business in this manner, you are headed for receivership and liquidation. Mark those words.

Gave Kogan one chance and they messed up badly. Auto recharge without permission & stored my CC data
Found the starter prepaid sim pack at a good price and decided to give it a try. No complaints about the network and speed but I decided to hold back recharging as I was still on a contract. I got emails with offers that it would be expiring soon with annual offers but I ignored it as I wanted to wait. To my shock they auto renewed it. No where in the email did they mention about this. This is fraud and un-Australian and have seen a lot of posts on the web and their customer service will refund it. In my option the leadership making this decision to increase sales should be fired. Who gave you permission to save my credit card & auto renew? You lost a customer for life. Good luck Kogan.
its honestly like mission impossible to cancel this service.
I've had my number ported over to a new provider - Australian based - and I can not express how hair pulling the process to cancel my account with Kogan is.
rating is zero. in all aspects
Found out about kogan mobile pre paid on ebay the first month was only 2 bucks 40gig unlim calls text this was 3 years ago now i pay 230 for 1 year and it gives me 25gig unlim calls & text every month and the coverage is everywhere its similar to telstra.

Kogan Mobile has changed over time (gone downhill)
I was originally attracted to cheap yet good value mobile plans, but with loads of data having been thrown in for minimal additional cost, I found that the latency on the Kogan/Vodafone network has become much worse over time. Don't bother calling Kogan Mobile as they would tell you that your device is at fault. Better option is to use a Vodafone Mobile Broadband device and compare the response times ... woeful to say the least including when used in capital cities.
A few months ago I bit the bullet and moved to prepaid with the big T. The ...user experience is much better overall but there is value in subscribing to 150 or 365 day validity options. NB: I am not a big user of mobile data, nor do I want to be an early adopter of 5G technologies. In retrospect, Kogan Mobile has been good but there is room for improvement in the quality and distribution of data services provided to consumers. Whilst Vodafone has considerably less mobile towers in Australia then this should not be viewed as a limiting factor which stifles further investment in the network.
Yearly plan used to be great... now not!?
Went a whole year with Kogan Mobile, excellent service, 20gb data lasted us ages.. worked well for calls, text and data (including YouTube, Netflix etc). THEN my plan ran out so we chose a new yearly plan but with less data. Since rolling over internet barely works, texts dont send, cant make calls .. a lot! Only way to get them to work is to turn phone Airplane mode on/off to get the phone to connect to new tower. Happening on mine and husbands phone so we know it isnt the phone! I dont see why reception would be so different and internet capability so different just because we rolled from one plan to another.
A scam company!
After having signed up for their $5.90 32gb a month offer, I was immediately enrolled in their auto renewal payment system which, much like the other person have chosen to opt out off. This company has a history of scamming people, I think its best to spread awareness to report this company.
December 13th 2019 Update: Not very good.
Service was dodgy nearly everywhere I went. Data speeds were very slow. After using this service for about 1 month, I finally switched to a better provider. For reference, I live in a bigger city with about 250,000 people.
Awful - Gave them a chance, they are not good
Sim 1 - Wouldn't activate with 3 forms of ID. Then you have to wait 72 HOURS to try again. Really?
Sim 2 - Doesn't think it's valid even though I entered all the numbers correctly and got someone to check
Helpline number is no longer valid. No way to get help other than awful circular internet urls leading back to the same pages.
If it works, their prices are great - but the simple part of activating a sim is total nonsense.
Cellular service was absolutely awful. Cutting in and out made it nearly impossible to finish a call. Data was also very unreliable even in big cities. Look for other providers!
Reliability and Accountability is a major issue
Always loved the 40 gb internet data sim. But lately all the sim that I bought at 3 stores and also from website came out faulty sim. Fraustration is you wait weeks for sim to be delivered and its faulty. Then you go to stores to buy another one, turns out faulty again, go to another store and faulty again. This is simply crap for you guys to sell faulty product, its a waste of peoples time. Now I have to fill the form for them to get them replaced/refund and wait another few weeks for delivery and you do not know if it will work, I doubt.
BEWARWE Kogan Mobile
Signed up for a 365 day Pre-paid plan they had on offer, took 5days to receive the supplied SIM. Could not activate the SIM on the Kogan web site and called the company. Turned out "apparently" they had a so called bad batch of SIMS. Kogan offer to send a new one - I refused since i did not want to wait another week or more for a replacement. Purchased one at my Local 7/11 that same afternoon. Guess what that also was bad based on the number I gave the support folks.
Beware- the deal is not what it seems.
These guys sell/give all your contact details to all kinds of marketeers and scammers. After signing up you will be inundated with endless unwanted emails and phone calls .It was so bad I didn't ever load their sim card

Questions & Answers
Hi ive noticed i cant call 13 XX XX numbers. Is there an add on for this or a plan to introduce this.
I noticed that the latest plan pricing has improved since the last year. With automatic recharge on, it will just charge my credit card the previous years contract price? Or will it apply the latest and better price? Because the current price is about $40 cheaper! One of the terms of these new plans is “existing customer? = no”. If this is the case and you don’t allow an existing customer to take advantage of the new pricing this is a deal breaker as every other telco allows you to go to better deals. Also, this would be deceitful as you are preying on the “lazy tax.” IE when you keep charging an expensive plan price when there is a better price for the same product available.
What I do is I disabled the auto charge and on the due date select the plan you want to buy I'm on the $36.99 unlimited with 20gb of data. I never have on enable for auto recharge
