Beware

Don’t ever use Apex Car rentals Tasmania .They cost us 2 Uber rides one night in hotel . Because Apex Tasmania do not allow drop of a car before 8am or after5pm .they are rude they don’t care The idiot told me you have to drop car back day before and would not refund money . And another guy sent a refund amount next another guy sends email saying no refund .apex is miles away from airport and do not offer any after hours service can not leave car there at all from5pm to 8am BEWARE.use other rentals Show details

Closed early so couldn't retreave car, poor customer service, won't give full refund

Flight arrived at 4:20pm and could not get in contact with Apex to pick up car. Phone rang out for 45 mins and was told by the shuttle bus they were closed! Stranded at the airport and had to hire another car from a different hire company.

Great savings to be had

Hired a car from Apex Car Rentals in Adelaide. The price was great as they are not based at the airport. So no nasty airport taxes added onto the hire. A quick 10 minute shuttle bus ride to their depot.
Staff were friendly and very efficient both on pick up and drop off.

False advertising - given a downgrade

We hired a Mitsubishi outlander from Melbourne airport at $125/day to be presented with a MG which was advertised at $70/day when booked in Oct 23. Being ignored and fobbed off with my complaint. Their solution was to remove the outlander option from the selection list!! The Mg is a downgrade in both size and engine power. Show details

good experience Gold Coast

I rented a small car from Gold Coast , the car was clean had 55000km a few marks but all noted on photos , staff were friendly and courteous , I had the small Kia for 10 days originally 8 but was able to extend easily and it ran well and did all I needed I did 2000km without any problems return was quick and simple . Only problems would be if you needed a car after hours as they don't have after hour service . price was good

A somewhat difficult experience

They've charged us 280 aud for smoking in the car. My wife is asthmatic. Under no circumstances would she be in an enclosed space where there was cigarette smoke.

Update: Customer service has agreed to refund us the amount back and we are certainly appreciative.
Update: The refund has been received. The cleanliness of the vehicle was not what one would have expected with some debris on the seats, candy bar wrappers, in the door panel as well as a full cigarette and coffee cup lid under the seat. As a suggestion to renters, ensure you are particular about this concern and check the vehicle carefully. Aside from this, the vehicle was sufficient for our purposes and was economical to operate. Show details

Horrendous

Do not use this company. They refused to allow me to pay to move my car to an after hours rental as I booked through a third party. The third party requested they do this and then they still refused. The lady told the third party they would not charge a cancellation fee. Then they proceeded to do so and charge $100. Zero customer service. Rudeness. Complete disregard for the customer. I hope they meet the demise they deserve. Show details

Can I rent a car from brisbane airport and drive to Barcaldine are there any restrictions

Hi. With zero excess insurance provided by Apex , in the event of a claim do you have to pay any monies at the time of the claim ie pay up front for the excess then have to claim it back ? Like rental cover etc
