This actually IS perfect and I can’t live without it! – When I first heard about the apple watch (despite being a huge apple fan) I thought it was something I could easily live without. It was only after I was given one by a friend who has more dollars than sense that I really realised how amazing a device it is. When I first received it, I wore it daily because it was new and exciting. It was fun… Read more

to watch the exercise/movement/etc rings fill up as I went about my daily business but it wasn’t anything amazing as far as I was concerned.

I think it took maybe a month (tops) before I was bored of it. Then one day I remembered that it was easier to tell when a phone call was incoming when I was in a busy/noisy place like a shopping centre, I was expecting an important call so I wore the watch because I was terrified I may miss this call. It’s a lot easier to feel a phone call come in on your wrist than to feel/hear the vibrations in your handband while you’re doing the grocery shopping.

After that I decided that I enjoyed the convenience the watch offered. I read other reviews and discovered it also serves as a TORCH in the dark! This was amazing to me, I went out to the car to fetch something one night, not so long after watching the video about this watches features, when I couldn’t immediately find the item I was looking for I swiped up from the bottom menu and activated the ‘flashlight’ option. The screen immediately turned completely white and after 2 seconds turned to maximum brightness. This might not sound like much but after using the absolute HELL out of this feature I can safely say that this will light up a completely dark room to the point where you can find whatever it is you’re looking for. I really wouldn’t have believed it before.

Another feature I have come to use DAILY (sometimes several times a day - dont judge me and my scatter brain) is the phone...pinger? OK I have no idea of its proper name, when you swipe up on your watch screen you will see a few icons, one looks like a phone, press that and your phone will start pinging loudly, doesnt even matter if its on silent mode. Before having this watch, if I misplaced my phone I’d have to get out my laptop, log into icloud and then use the ‘find my iPhone’ website to ping my phone. You can bet I’d turn the house upside down before I’d bother with all that. Now, as soon as I’m mot even sure which room I’ve left my phone in I just swipe up and ping. Boom. I can hear my precious phone call to me from wherever he may be. Yeah. My phones a he. We are in love. Shhhh.

Another thing I have come to rely on my watch for is when I’m driving. My oldish car doesn’t have bluetooth OR an auxilery port, I bought a pair of airpods recently with the idea I’d get through all my half finished audiobooks, instead I discovered how awesome they are for driving and listening to music. I can change the song and adjust the volume all without having to take my eyes off the road with my watch. The volume control is activated by twisting the dial on the side of the watch and pressing on either side when your wrist is in the right (upright) position changes or replays the song. I LOOOVE it.

Last thing, my toddler son has a favourite show. He watches it on the apple TV in my room via the netflix app, but anyone who’s used the netflix app for casual watching knows that it will ask you if you’re still there every so often. Sometimes it would be a real pain for me to leave the cooking or whatever I was doing when he comes running out crying ‘fix show pweeez’ to drop everything and go fix his show for him, with MY WATCH from WHEREVER in the house I am, I can tell his show that we’re still watching and THAT has been very helpful. Otherwise I’ve got to dig out the remote from whatever toddler-safe-yet-accessible location I’ve stashed it THIS time after I’ve carried my busy butt up the other end of the house.

Yes...it is that good – Yes...it is very expensive. However, this is a high quality piece of technology. My wife bought this for me for my birthday. Have had it for ten months now and it looks and functions as new. What this “smartwatch” does over and above a “normal’ watch is best researched elsewhere. If you are reading this, you probably already know. Needless to say… Read more

it is an Apple product and built to their usual high standards and backed by their support.

Appearance wise, whilst taking care, it is strapped to your wrist and inevitably will get knocked against hard objects which can damage the beautiful gloss finish. Having had that occur a few times, I'm happy to say the finish remains just as beautiful and scratch free as when it was new. The materials used (including the glass face) appear up to the task for everyday use (so far). Mine came with the milanese watch band which (while also of very high quality) is probably not worth the asking price. Similar bands (and nice leather ones) are available at significantly cheaper prices from third party manufacturers.

The screen is clear and bright and generally easy to read outside except in the brightest of direct sunlight.

Functionality wise, operations are easily controlled via your iPhone or the watch crown and it’s touch sensitive screen. I was only expecting a one day battery life but am happy to say I regularly get three days of use between charges. Whilst this is a good thing, it should be noted that the watch only charges through a wireless process and only using a specific charger designed for it. Don’t waste your time trying to use a charger used for mobile phones (including Apples iPhones) as they use a QI standard which the watch doesn’t support.

The only complaint I have with the watch is you can only use prescribed watch faces as designed and provided by Apple itself. Having said that, Apple does allow you to add your own designated picture for use as a watch face background.

Overall, in my opinion, the best smartwatch out there.

It (Figuratively) Grows On You – I bought the Apple Watch in September 2016 on a whim. At first, I thought of it as a glorified notification checker, but the device has become really convenient for several aspects of my life. Firstly, I use the watch for tracking walking/jogging/lifting, and the data tracked is fascinating to monitor. Combined with AirPods, I feel more free to… Read more

move around than I did when I used a Polar chest strap heart rate monitor and wired earbuds. The Activity rings have become addictive to close each day, helping to encourage being active. I also use the watch for Siri-ing setting notifications and timers. And since signing up with ING for banking, I've been using Apple Pay on my watch most shopping trips (no phone required).

As someone who likes to live life without pants as much as possible, having the watch to listen to music and receive texts/calls without my phone in a pocket has been a delight.

Two negatives worth mentioning: Siri is currently garbage. It will frequently misinterpret words in text messages and has limited abilities to perform tasks. The other thing I'm sure you are keenly aware of is that the device is hecking expensive. The value for money is up to you to determine.

Fantastic – I got this watch as a back up protection when I am at home alone. It's so good that I use it every day, I would not be without it. Great for music changes in the car, keeping up to date without having your phone on the table, etc. I've never missed a call since having the watch! I will definitely be updating to the next version Show details

I love it! – The watch is brilliant. I especially like the navigation, managing music and Siri on the watch. It’s one of very few devices that can track swimming. I have been tracking my fitness and since then I feel more motivated to exercise. While navigating, especially on a motorcycle it is easy to check the directions. It was a game changer for me. Absolutely love the device and don’t leave home without it. Show details

Great watch – Such a great watch, faster response on apps just over all better. I use it everyday and find it fantastic to track my exercise activity and heart rate. Love the design and the functionality of it. I can answer calls using the watch, read and reply messages. I also use it as a camera remote for my iphone x, and also as a flashlight. I did used it when I’m swimming and it works fine. Perfect companion to my iphone X.  Show details

Very Dissapointing – The watch looks lovely and the screen is very crisp and clear but the erratic nature of the notifications makes it near on useless. The watch doesnt respond if the phones unlocked "by design" apparently. The haptic engine is so weak if your moving forget about feeling a notification come in. The algorithm for determining the when the screen comes… Read more

All the bells and whistles – Expensive but fun for a short time, I wore mine for 2 months and stopped because I noticed it made all my other watches obsolete. I still prefer my old fashion watch over a smart watch as handy as it is and does everything from receiving messages and dialling out and receiving calls. Its just not as classy as a traditional time piece imo. As much… Read more

Best purchase – Initially bought it to buy something that I didn’t really justify, however this has been my best purchase. I keep all my music in the watch so when I go for a run I only need my headphones, leaving my phone at home. The watch has my gym program on it thanks to a third party app, timing me between sets and only cost $10 for a program compared to $80 if my gym did it.  Show details

Great piece of wearable tech! – I was always on the fence about getting an apple watch as I already had a fitbit HR and the Heart rate and steps were all I was after but I was able to snap a clearance once up at JB Hi-Fi as the Series 3 was being released. Honestly, its been great. Love being able to check my notifications on my wrist as it stops me from always looking on my phone. Great for in meeting and driving.  Show details

Love it! – Got my Apple Watch (Series 2) in June 2017 and I love it! Notifications on the watch saves me from picking up my mobile phone all the time, and asking Siri to set reminders/alarms is awesome. And answering a call on the watch is a breeze and has saved me from missing a call many times. The speaker on the watch is also great for hands-free driving. Best fitness watch I've had – I have tried Fitbit and Garmin, and found both to be good but frustrating. The Apple Watch has combined the best of both into a nice easy to use package. The best bits are the ability to use swimming, surfing etc, along with excellent heart-rate monitoring, best in class smart-watch functionality, and great fitness tracking. The 3rd party… Read more

AutoSleep app works great. The only downsides are that it doesn't quite have the community aspect that Fitbit does well, and the battery life is about 1 to 1.5 days only. However, it does charge up pretty quick, and normally a daily ~30min on the charger while getting ready for bed is enough to top it back up to 100%. Only other wish would be an barometer to include stair counts, but this is not a deal-breaker.

Great all in one wearable! – The Apple Watch 2 is a great piece of kit - being water proof and linked to your Apple device (phone etc). It can measure your steps, calories, exercise and syncs direct to your phone to give you motivation and goals Also if you selectively choose linked app's can access data and basic info direct from your watch rather than your phone  Show details

Great piece of kit – I've had my Series 2 42mm for a year now and it's been excellent. I've traveled with it, regularly worn it & still not a mark on it. Overall if you're considering getting one I'd definitely say they're worth it - for roughly $500 they're great, you would easily spend that on a watch that doesn't do half the things this one will do.

Great for everyday use and running – Not quite the Dick Tracey watch, which the series 3 pretty much is. I've been using the Apple Watch series 2 since January 2017. accurate. Possibly watchOS 4. I use the watch to interact with Siri a lot more than I did with the phone. Its great for send quick messages, setting timers and reminders etc. Being able to keep the phone on silent and getting a tap on the wrist when phone calls and messages come through is a massive plus for me. If you had to decide between this and the series 3, it really comes down to do you really need to make phone calls without your phone. I very rarely put it on charge when I go to bed with less than 50% remaining on the battery.

Overall great but have had some issues – Love my watch and the different faces including Mickey and Minnie Mouse ones which my children love too. My issues though are it sometimes switches off... not frequently but has happened several times over the year. It is very motivating and I love the apps becoming available including tap and pay. Would buy again. Would have loved it to monitor sleep too like other brands but battery life would need to be improved then.  Show details

Great fitness devise, it's just a little slow sometimes – It may look like the Apple Watch Series 1, but the Series 2 model is a much nicer devise. First of all the addition of GPS means you can go for a run without your iPhone and it will accurately track your distance and speed. The speed inside the watch has been increased dramatically, now apps load within a decent amount of time. Its worth noting… Read more

that you can have eight apps in your app draw on the watch, meaning you can switch between those eight apps instantly. However additional apps are a little slow to load, and this can be a little frustrating. I don't find the call quality that great either, and usually just switch back to my iPhone. I have the Stainless Steel model, and the screen on the watch has never cracked, the enclose as well is very rigid and has held up well so far. The battery life is very much the same as the first model, and I get about two days before needing to recharge, however if you do several workouts you may only get a full day of charge. But the main reason for buying an Apple Watch for me is the fitness side of things. I can track my runs, do strength training, interval training, you name it. It reminds me to stand up every hour, even to take a few moments every few hours to relax. The Apple Watch is a brilliant device, and will keep you connected, let you evaluate your fitness, make certain interactions quicker and of course will tell the time! It just needs to be quicker!
