1 Fair  · Bought a pair of ASICS runners thought they would comfortable for walking but very disappointed, can't wear them more than 30 minutes, I wasted $99.
1 Jason  · Very poor customer service – I had an issue with the shoes I ordered online from Asics and they were very unhelpful in trying to rectify the issue.
1 Craig l  · They are cheaply made – I had knee pain after the use of gel kayano. Bought a pair of tokyu bright red again even worse, have swapped to Brookes
1 Paul  · Poor Quality – Developed a hole in the front mesh section after a few months and I won’t buy another pair.
1 Kayano 28  · ASICS KAYANO 28 – The soul of runner is crumbling after walking on treadmill. Had the first pair replaced, the second one has the same fault.
1 K Smith  · If I could I’d give no star rating – Barely 8 mnths old and 2 holes in mesh on big toes, disgusted! Appalling quality for ASIC runners that cost over $200!

Very disappointing experience with ASICS Carindale and customer service. I called ahead and was clearly told I could return an item in-store. Based on that, I drove 30 minutes each way with my children, only to be told the system was down and nothing could be processed. This resulted in a 1-hour round trip wasted due to incorrect information… Read more

provided by staff.

While ASICS later arranged a return by post, I still had to spend additional time and money on packaging.

The final resolution offered was only a 15% discount code, which requires further spending and does not reasonably compensate for the inconvenience caused.

Overall, poor communication, lack of accountability, and an underwhelming resolution.

Second recent pair of ASIC Nimbus has failed , holes through toe part of shoe! Reported to asic directly but they claimed with photo evidence of toes pushed through at front (and properly fitted by customer care team at athletes foot) “general wear and tear” and would do nothing about my issue $300 shoe lasting less than 12 months both myself… Read more

Asics Gel-Kayano 31 are a rubbish product. I purchased Gel-Kayano 31's from rebel sport for $270 in April last year. I'll start off by saying that these are really comfortable for my very flat feet, BUT, The first pair I had lasted 1 week before the grips on the bottom of the shoe started peeling off. I took them back and they gave me a new pair… Read more

under warranty at no cost. Fast forward 4 months later and the new pair started showing excessive wear, despite the fact that I hadn't worn them in puddles or harsh conditions. The tip of the shoes started to get holes and the sides of the left shoe started to separate. Exactly one year on and both these things are falling apart. Holes in the side and top and bottom soles starting to peel off again. Rubber shavings on my carpet falling off the side of the shoe. Arch support feels mostly gone.

Judging by the other reviews it seems that Asics are going on past reputation, and their quality control has massively decreased. This is the sort of thing I'd expect with a $50-$100 pair of shoes, not a $270 pair which should get a few years of use, as I did with my previous pairs. It seems that they are now made in China and not Japan like they used to be, and it shows.

I'm extremely disappointed with these shoes and I will not be buying Asics again. I'm off to the shops to buy new shoes, and I will be throwing these out. I have to laugh at everyone (yes, including myself) that has bought this rubbish.

Asics Gel-Kayano 31 very squeaky. Video attached. I would not buy the ASICS Gel-Kayano 32 based on the feedback I recieved from The Athletes Foot and ASICS. They squeak everywhere - even on the accelerator and brake pedal in the car. I've historically bought Kayano's every year and this has never happened before. I put up with it but now I feel… Read more

Purchased the ASICS Gel-Contend 9 expecting comfort, but it didn’t work for me. The shoe created pressure under the ball of my foot, which resulted in a painful corn within a short time. Cushioning is okay, but the fit didn’t suit my foot shape. Definitely recommend trying before buying. Show details

Really disappointed with the newer Asica Kayano. The toe box in the upper shoe is so fragile. They have hardly done 20-30 Saturday (5km) parkruns and the tread is barely worn, however the upper has already failed with a massive hole in the fabric. Hopefully this is not by design by Asics! Running shoes should last much longer than a year and 100-150 kms!! Show details

I’ve had one of the most frustrating customer service experiences with ASICS. I purchased the ASICS Gel-NYC Lace-Up Sneakers from Cettire (Order #55821685 on Aug 6, 2025). Within just six weeks of light use — mainly short casual walks and indoor wear — the shoes started to show significant wear and breaking apart by September 2025. I reached out… Read more

to ASICS Australia in November 2025 after following directions from their social media team. Instead of help, I was told that Cettire “is not affiliated with ASICS Oceania” and that they couldn’t verify the authenticity of my item. Cettire insisted the products were genuine and that I needed to work with ASICS directly — so both companies passed me back and forth with no resolution. ASICS America even contacted me next, asking for detailed warranty documentation, photos, purchase proof, and defect descriptions, which I promptly provided. After doing everything asked, they then replied that they couldn’t assist because I was based in Australia and directed me back to the same team that had already refused the claim. This entire experience highlights a complete breakdown in accountability between ASICS’ regional divisions and their lack of care for customers who purchase through legitimate online retailers. I expected better transparency, communication, and responsibility from a global footwear brand. I genuinely liked the comfort and style of the Gel-NYC sneakers, but after this experience, I’ve lost confidence in ASICS and will not be purchasing from them again.

Asics are not truthful. They are removing reviews from their site. The return policy is not competitive to others. Oncloud has way better quality and customer satisfaction. Asics don’t care about customer satisfaction. I had a terrible experience. Show details

Follow-up  · The customer service was terrible. My shoes were shipped to the wrong address. They would not accept a return. I wrote reviews on the website and they were removed.

I’ve been wearing ASICS shoes since the 1980s, when the Tiger Excalibur GT was arguably the best running shoe in the world, but my most recent purchase, in February 2025, was a disaster. It’s hard to believe how far the quality of ASICS shoes has… Read more

dropped, in such a short period of time. I paid around $280 for a pair of Kayano 31s, believing that they were a top of the line shoe, to have them start to fall apart, after about six months of pretty standard wear (walking, not running). As with all big multi-national corporations, these days, actually making any meaningful contact with ASICS is a waste of time and energy. I contacted them through FB Messenger and was told the best option would be to sort it out with the retailer. Unfortunately, the retailer is interstate and 745km away. It hurts to have to ditch a product that has served me so well over the last four to five decades, but when that product turns to rubbish, I don’t really have a choice.

Follow-up  · Emailed ASICS, but no response. They know that the quality of their shoes has dropped away but they don’t seem keen to address the issue. The soles of the shoes start to separate after minimal use and my previous pair of ASICS Nimbus are showing less wear after having done many more kms than the new Kayanos.

Forget about Addidas ECQ because they are as useless as tits on a bull ♉, go directly to the ASICS ECQ website. There website is Soo user friendly because Unlike Addidas it actually takes into account important specifications such as size of shoe , recreational use such as running & unisex. Literally narrowed my search from 130 to 2, # a bargain price one for $140 & another for $160. That's what customers want simplicity.

Excellent customer service. I have always been a Nike and Adidas guy but was keen to try a pair of ASICS, especially the new GT-1000 14s. I decided to engage with their customer support and it was nothing short of excellent. Kudos to Patrick and the team. Fast, friendly and all round excellent experience handling all my needs! Very satisfied with the quality of customer service.

I purchased a pair of Gel-Kayano 30 shoes in November 2023 which developed a hole on the left shoe toe. This is the second such occurrence that I have experienced with my ASICS shoes. The first I dismissed as fair “wear and tear”. The second pair seemed to have failed on the same spot as the previous, which leads me to conclude that there may be a… Read more

I purchased Asics GEL-KAYANO ACE 2 shoes in Sept last year. They are probably the most comfortable golf shoes I've ever worn. However, the quality of the shoes was poor. As an example, the synthetic uppers stain very easily and cannot be cleaned close to the original state. Cheap. Also, the material in the heal area wears very quickly. I have… Read more

worn large holes through to the foam in both shoes after perhaps 30 to 40 rounds. I've never had any shoe do this before. They fit snug and don't move much during walking, but the wafer thin material is not up to the job. Asics, your name was built on performance and quality. Don't sacrifice the latter in pursuit of a couple of dollars. Dissapointing.

I have been purchasing these shoes for years and know exactly what to expect. However, the right shoe in this pair is defective, particularly at the 4D Guidance System. lump of hardened clay in the shoe. I went through the claims process hoping for a resolution, but all I received was a dismissive response: “Very sorry—this is not deemed defective.” Instead of acknowledging the issue, customer service simply told me I should have tried them on beforehand. Well, I did try them on in-store and later ordered them online when I had saved enough for this expensive purchase, expecting consistency in quality. Unfortunately, do not expect any meaningful customer service from Asics—just a hollow apology. This shoe is undeniably defective, and yet there is no willingness to stand by the product or assist a loyal customer. Very disappointing.

WTH Asics!!!! As a proud owner of 10 pairs of ASICS, ranging from 23’s to 27’s . I think it’s time to provide you with some very to the point feedback regarding the (in my opinion ) poor decisions your company has recently made to completely change some of the materials that are now being used for some of your models, whilst I can only comment on… Read more

the nimbus range, it’s worth noting that the comfort level since the number is 25 has decreased massively. Speaking with the sales assistant in one of your flagship stores in a location I will not disclose. They were in agreement that many many customers have complained that the quality and comfort has decreased significantly as a result of your attempts to gain popularity for being more ‘sustainable’ in the materials you are now using, either that or you have chosen to cut corners in manufacturing and labour which has resulted in your designs going backwards rather than forwards in terms of comfort . In total, I have purchased almost 25 pairs since my relationship began with ASICS, and due to a recent poor decision to purchase of a pair of Nimbus 27’s @ $260!!! my relationship and custom will now stop. I am so disappointed and frustrated that are treating your loyal customers this way and will now seek to find an alternative brand who successfully improve their products without ripping off their customers by providing expensive shoes that look and definitely feel fake . The response I got from the asics customer care was a fobbed off customer response template which said ‘ I have passed this feedback onto our sales and designs team for them to take into consideration when looking at future ranges’ so sad that this brand is now more B’asic than asic.

Purchased a pair of women’s asics on February 19 2025 for $79.99. Recommended retail $99.99. I thought I would get 6 months wear. At that price I am okay purchasing 2 pairs a year. Here we are 7 weeks later April 6 2025 and the right shoe has a hole where my right toe sits. What happened to quality control. Everything else about the shoes are amazing. Show details

This is a bit late review. But I had to write. Bought Asics GT-1000 10 Black/Hot Pink for $140 shoes lasted only 1 year or less than that...it torn, when went back to store which had just crossed a year and a month, manager named Brayden at Uni Hill Bundoora refused to exchange or refund. Instead said be Thankful that the shoe lasted a year. Asics shoes are meant to last 6mths only. Never ever buying asics. Poor customer service and poor quality. Show details

Note this is both a product and a service review. Shoes purchased end of May 24 from Rebel, only used to walk dog on nice footpaths (and some grass) up to 4x per week by a 150cm 58kg person, owner slipped and fell over Oct 24 then didn't walk till January 25. When looked at shoes at that time realized major and totally abnormal wear. White foam… Read more

had disintegrated up to 5mm in places, black rubber well worn and smoothd. When compared to two pairs of runners shoes used for 3 and 4 years these were far worse. Owner made complaints to both Asics and Rebel who refused any appropriate service based on the fact shoes were found to be defective out of the 6 month range. Owner was not pursuing fall related issue, rather recognition these are clearly defective and may lead to a larger problem for Asics. Both Asics and Rebel admitted the apparent wear was major and unusual but suggested a shoe "ID fit" may have provided a better model . Please see photographs. Given the very short time they were worn and the lack of service/recognition of an issue we will stop supporting Asics and encourage other customers to AVOID. These are top of the line shoes but a supermarket brand would last longer. Do not buy, they do not stand by their product.

Kayano making me say Oh No for durability – I've been buying ASIC Kayanos since they released the Kayano 29s, I use these as my work shoes (office environment, sometimes travel site to site) and unfortunately by the 6th month mark the shoes tend to start to fall apart, the 29s had fabric issues around the ends, I bought the Kayano 30s, they seemed more durable however the treads are… Read more

different and more slippery... bought the 31s when they came out and the first few months they were perfect, started to notice a few fabric tears around the soles, but it was barely noticeable, then the treads started peeling off, i've found myself trying to glue my shoes back together more and more, something i've never had to do with any other shoe brand :(

Unfortunately I think i've learned my lesson and will be asking the shoe shop for a different more durable brand that is still comfortable... the only highlight to these shoes is that they are very comfortable.

Absolutely TERRIBLE quality for $200 – The reviews are correct. Had my $200 asics for 10 months, completely falling apart and detaching from sole and unwearable. My last asics lasted for years. Theyve obviously had a quality change and are no longer the "go to" for quality aussie runners like they used to be. Don't buy them, no hate, but theyre just not worth it anymore.

Rubbish runners – Hi there, been buying Asics Runners for almost 20 years now. In the past l was always happy with quality and comfort that Asics provided. Late last year l bought 2 pairs. Within 2 months they were ripping from everywhere. From the sides of the shoes to the top. Im 52 years of age and am not as active as l was when l was 25. There is is no excuse… Read more

for these runners to rip. The only exercise l do now days is walking. Here in Australia we pay $249 for the top of the line Asics. At that price you would expect them to last for years just like they have in the past. I wish l took photo's so l could show you. Don't worry l actually made the mistake of buying two pairs, so when this pair starts doing the same thing l will write another review with photos. It might take a while as its summer here in Australia so l hardly wear them during this season but it will be done. Please do not buy any Asics runners unless you have money to burn. I do not. One thing with runners across the board that l have noticed is when l went to high school runners had really thick grip now a day its like 2mm thick. This is so you buy runners more often and waste your money instead of investing in other things. If you have Asics and the same thing happens to you please post a review. Companies like this need to be boycotted. I am moving to another brand l will never buy Asics again. I would give Asics minus 20
