insincerity. . i also felt that the returns policy is unreasonable, whereby opening the box and plugging the product iin for 10mins to test classified the product as 'used' and iunacceptable to re-sell as new. i wish i'd bought the amp from jb hifi, where the price was the same and, strangely, the staff are much nicer and returns policy ismuch more realistic. wont be going back... left a bad taste in my mouth.

horrible service – Horrible service. I've ordered several items, one of them was expecting in 3 weeks. 3 months later - have not got any replies and no order. Another item, which was available when I placed the ordered, became out of sock. I had to contact the store, got standard reply "that this is not our fault, been out of stocks for months".

Purchased Yamaha SoundBar package – Spoke to Bow over the phone prior to instore pickup, he was helpful and proactively went to check the stock availabilities. Instore pick up the boys was helpful and friendly. I'm certain I'll be back to checkout their instore sound rooms setup to test and demo their equipment. bought it online expecting I to be knocked back to the manufacturer. Luckily that wasn't the case. I was told to bring in the products with their original packing and would be returned with a minimal restocking fees. Things got better from the moment I reached, was greeted by the manager Mark who is one of the most amazing customer service personnel I have had the good fortune of dealing with.
He listened to all that I had to say regarding the disappointing performance of this well known brand and very patiently asked all the right questions as to what exactly was I looking for in a home theatre and explained to me how brands work, what to look for while shopping for speakers and very patiently showed the variety that is available in store for if ever I wanted to invest further than what my budget was at the moment. Not only was the product returned without any questions, I was also given options that sound so amazing and exactly what I needed through a Sonos amp and a pair of Paradigm speakers which I now own and are chalk and cheese different from what I bought online. Mark and his team are an example of honest, patient and truely empathetic synergies. Very Very impressed. Thank you Audio Trends - guess I am going to be ready for my next purchase soon; Sonos subwoofer.
Poor customer service – Purchased very expensive headphones worth nearly $1,600, that fell apart after 12 months, Audio Trends did not want to help, kept pushing me off to distributor who said the headphones were mistreated and out of 12 months warranty, typical response from a company who does not want to honour their responsibility under consumer laws. Would not recommend purchasing from them no backup for faulty items after 12 months.

Straight forward Answers – They answers to my questions were great explanations and as a non tech person they were just what I needed to know. One item of my order was not in stock. They told me when it would be in stock. Obviously they received it when they said they would. How do I know? It is not best price guarantee! – Price is different provide by video pro (please check screen shot) I called and checked with Audio Trends for matching price, and they said that i should go for the competitor Video pro. Audio Trends did not match or beat price as their "best price guarantee" policy promised.
Excellent customer service, great people to deal with – Purchased Wharfdale D300S Atmos Speakers online, I've made few calls to them before purchasing because my previous purchase from a different online shop never arrived. I have been a customer of Audio Trends in Ringwood for the past few years.
I go to them for my a variety of audio items and advice.
I have purchased speakers, cables and recently a DAC and another subwoofer.
They helped me build my home theatre in part and I got some of the best prices, including the Denon x8500H and four Klipsch 15 inch subwoofers.
I also have an interest in music speakers and amps and they helped me with advice regarding feeding digital music into a vintage system, with regards to the right sort of DAC.
As I type this review, I am listening to that music system, with the Dragonfly Cobalt DAC and the clarity through the speakers is sublime.
You read a lot of reviews about speaker imaging. let me tell you the Dragonfly recommended by Simon at Audio Trends was spot on.
Also, as an example, if you read their website listing for the Dragonfly Cobalt DAC Audio Trends that you give this DAC a 200 hours burn in, to hear the full benefit of the DAC. Now this is the kind of intelligent advice I need. Like most people into their music and related equipment: we're long on research so the detailed, in-depth review of an item is very much appreciated.
You will often see a paragraph, 'Our Take' - which is a great piece of personal insight into the product and most helpful in making the right decision on a purchase.
I have found the Mark, the two Simon's and the other guys at Audio Trends always to be help, over the phone, in person or via email.
No, they are not just interested in selling you the most expensive product; they listen to your personal set-up and situation and advise you the best they can.
It does not always end in a sale but so far, what I have sought, by way of solution has been met with enthusiasm, advice and where required: the right product to integrate and complete a project.
As far as getting the best price, Audio Trends have always risen to the challenge. If you have a credible or realistic price; they will price match or give you a good deal.
You're expectations need to be realistic and conducting your own, independent research will assist you, before you contact Audio Trends regarding advice and price.
Also if you know your system, know your problem and know what you are looking for in general terms; the guys at Audio Trends will be able to help you more.
I don't buy everything from Audio Trends, I shop around. However, each time I have come to them, I have been assisted in finding the right solution.
A short comment on their website processes with regards to products and purchases: Works really well, item is easy to identify with clear pricing, payment is easy, you get an email invoice with all the details. They then follow-up with emails/calls to update you on the delivery of your purchase. I have only started using the website for purchasing and there have been no problems at all.
If I were to give Audio Trends a rating out of 100; it would be 99 (hey, you can't be perfect, right? and also it means there is always something you can improve, whether it be price, advice or special deals for loyal customers).
But seriously; it's full marks.
Finally, and these are the main two questions you should ask someone:
Would I go back again?
The answer is simply, 'Yes.'
Why?
Because of the right advice first of all and where required; the right product.

Anyway, this journey really helped me to get to know this store and have visited almost every store there are in Melbourne where I live. I looked forward to going to Audio Trends every time. Whilst I haven't spoken to every single staff inside, I have spoken to a good handful of them like Andrew, Wes, Simon and Mark, all of them are good guys, and I am so grateful how long they let me audition their amazing array of components on the floor. Thank you especially to Andrew for his patience with me, moving components between rooms, many of them are not light, such as subwoofers and floor standing speakers. Thank you!
So impressed that recently I brought a friend of mine there who was keen to build a retro vinyl vacuum tube system almost from scratch. Without hesitation, I took her to Audio Trends and told her that she doesn't need to shop around. If she can't find what she wants at Audio Trends at the price she is happy with, then she needs to do some homework to work out what she really wants and do a reality check.
At the store, Wes looked after her (and my wife) while I browse around to see if there's anything new and exciting. When I found them moments later, they were about to audition a vacuum tube amp, working as a power amp, plugged into a Naim Atom as the preamp so we can dish whatever music we like over Spotify, etc. We tried no less than 6 loudspeakers from one budget bookshelf to a fairly decent floor-standing speakers. Wes was so patient. Admittedly, my friend isn't familiar with components, audiophile quality sound and all that. Wes helped her to work out what she really likes, didn't push a particular type of sound / equipment on her like some would.
In the end, she exceeded her budget by some margin. But honestly I am so happy for her because I know she can afford better equipment and the original figure was pretty much a number plugged in the air. The difference in quality was day and night and worth the difference in price, and not over the top. Understanding her situation, Wes proposed to add a streamer, making it a complete package. After working out the shopping list of items, he gave her a discounted price. We left the shop for a couple of hours to think it through, to discuss and price check. I could not find a better price!
When she finally left a deposit at the front desk, I jokingly told Wes he should sell her a powerboard like a Thor or IsoTek, he didn't but suggested we could take it for try out if we want to. Awesome!
Given Australian dollar has been falling for quite some time and now at 10 years low and still trending down, prices are going up everywhere. In fact, one item I was after has gone up a fair bit. This makes the price my friend paid even harder to beat. When we were leaving the store, I was talking to Andrew about speaker hum and he willingly shared (emailed) a service document with me and offered to help build / modify a cable for me. Thank you!
There are still HiFi shops that are pretty snobbish, belittling customers, pushy and make one feel crap not investing the price of a luxury automobile into a sound / AV system. This is not my experience of Audio Trends. If you are a keen music listener, you would find a friendly, like-minded person to sit down together with and have a great time auditioning great HiFi equipments, comfy and without rush. Last but not least, they positively commended on fellow HiFi stores like Carlton Audio Visual. I like that!
Are there anything bad about this shop. YES! There are usually some other people there as well, many of which are into cinema system and they turn them up so loud that subwoofer bloom would annoyingly creep in inevitably, even if it is slight. Doesn't mean the building has poor sound treatments. When you have a couple of those SVS PB4000 or PB16 ultras blasting away, it just can't be helped. I used to run a sound desk and used to look out for feedbacks and the littlest details.
Poor delivery and communications – Made few purchases from AudioTrends (all online) and almost all of them have issues. One thing is common though, delivery. My latest order was like purchased it on Monday then Friday still don't know what is happening until I sent an email and to find out that 2 of my orders will not be available for the next 3 to 6 weeks due to supplier's… Read more
issue. Was advised if I want to have it replaced which I did on Friday now it is Saturday afternoon still do not know how is my order doing. Very poor communication. I think this will be the last for me. 4 separate purchases would be enough. Would not recommend unless you intend to pick-up the product.
Excellent – I've used Audio Trends both on-line and in store. I've always found them professional and knowledgeable. I appreciate that they don't try and up sell and give good advice. Their process are amongst the most competitive.
Would not recommend – Delay in delivery. Delivered another product altogether. Service to rectify not good. Was like it was my fault. Product arrived with english plug. No mention of this when purchased. Not worth the cheaper price. Would not recommend.
The one stop shop for all your Visual and Audio needs – Every time I shop at audio trends I get a memorable experience. The prices are always great as staff are willing to make you a very reasonable offer on all their stock, even the stock that they don't currently have in store. Recommended – Bought two sets of headphones. They needed a prompt on the second set but overall pleased with the item, the price and the service.
Overpriced products and service – Just bought banana plugs for $10.00 each from these guys. Just looked on the net and you can buy 20 plugs for $15.00 and exactly the same product. Now that is a mark up. I have spent so much money with these guys. Never again am I buying anything from Audio Trends in Ringwood.

Online store and service is excellent – I've bought a lot of my kit from the AT website over the years as I'm in Sydney. Gear always arrives quickly and they've always answered questions with no issue. Good prices and usually a lot cheaper.
Strange info request – Placed an order for a pair of headphones in their online store, only to receive an ID verification request - they require your address to match the White Pages or be on the electoral register, which rules out non-Australian citizens like myself. First time I have ever been asked for such a proof. Edit: Sent a friends utility bill, used their card and the order went through.
Poor customer service – Service was poor. Felt as if we were wasting his time. Maybe the items that we were after were low price ranged for them. We were after a variety of products and we just stopped after realizing the attitude we were getting.
Appalling customer service – Visited Audio Trends today to try out some Oppo headphones with intention to purchase. I had a couple of questions and wanted to ask about a matching amplifier - the guy who served me couldn't have been less interested. Didn't want to look up from his computer screen - obviously Facebook was more important :). I guess they might provide better service if you're looking to spend more money, not too sure. The product is good the seller is not to be trusted on their promises – I bought a Sonos Playbar on the Tuesday before the Melbourne cup weekend on which they didn't open. For that weekend they had an on line special for the days they were closed that would have saved me at least $90 if I had bought the Playbar online.
