Hannah and Martin in the team were also very helpful in the after sales area. The delivery team works for Ausbeds specifically, which means they took the time to get everything delivered and in place without rushing like a 3rd party carrier might, and again really took the time to make sure we were happy with everything.

King 9 with absolutely no hesitation and delivery happened within 2 days. The inventive design provides an incredible number of firmness adjustments on request and they are arranged at your home. Also, components of the mattresses are inexpensive and can be replaced individually, which avoids having to replace the entire product (gone are the days of purchasing a “forever” mattress that remains a permanent fixture, good or bad). We have been sleeping on the mattress for over a week now and have enjoyed a quality of sleep beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you, Karl and your team for making everything so easy.

summer months. There is a 36kg differential in our weights. The great thing is that Ausbeds can make adjustments as per their website info and you are not stuck with a mattress you hate. They are also Australian made right there in the Marrickville factory (unlike SD and other 'box' mattresses made in China), use natural breathable latex rather than hot foam and have the choice of the cool organic top or more padded and soft tencel top. If you live in and around the Sydney area I would make Ausbeds your first stop when looking for a mattress. Update: Had to swap out for an Aurora 8 which allowed more comfort options. I've now found the softer option of a 6 (by turning the springs the other way) the most comfortable for my light frame and it doesn't cause my much heavier husband any discomfort. So whilst much softer than the original 9, it isn't sagging under his weight like we imagined it would. I'd recommend following the website guide for body weight and go with the option it suggests, as you cannot really gauge the feeling of a full nights sleep in the showroom. Ausbeds staff know best.

Karl, the owner, took the time to explain how he designed and built the bed, and you can really tell the thought and quality that went into it. They never do discounts, but this bed is totally worth the price. I’m sure we’ll need some layer adjustments as we get older and I’m confident Ausbeds will continue to meet our needs.

Never going back to a box bed again as you can’t try them out physically, and for something you use for 1/3 of your life, you really should test it in person first. Highly recommend Ausbeds for anyone looking for a well-made, customisable mattress and friendly, knowledgeable service.

mattress hardness. We originally went with the number 10 setting ( hardest) and tried that out for a few weeks. Was very comfortable but just a little too hard. So did a quick adjustment ( Karl did show us but there are also instructional videos on their website) and changed it to a 9, and now perfect.

Best experience purchasing a bed – Recently purchased a king size mattress and base from ausbeds. Good advice, able to test the bed in the show room without any pressure and the bed was delivered when they said it would be delivered. The best thing that I like about the mattress is that the firmness can be easily adjusted. We bought a Aurora 8 which is a firm mattress but really comfy. Very happy with our purchase.

access to zip open your bed is that you also have the flexibility to make is firmer or softer in need. After purchasing an expensive mattress a few years ago which gave my wife a sore lower back, being able to adjust the bed afterwards was important to us. We've had the bed for a month now and I'm thrilled to say, no adjustment needed. It's perfect!

years. It was definitely too soft, and still too warm for me. I also found the cover of the mattress (which is removable) bunched up under my sheets.

No issues when I called, I'm happy to say! I was offered a new cover they'd developed, which is thinner and more breathable, along with an on-site adjustment of the springs for a firmer feel. Or a refund if I didn't want to try the adjustment.

With the firmer feel and new cover, I'm completely happy with the mattress now. Fair warning - it took me about 3 weeks to get used to it. It wasn't an instant goldilocks moment for me. The holes in the latex are slightly discernible if my feet are propped up in bed, but not at all when laying down.

Also bought the base, which is a modern design with space underneath for storage.

I now feel fully supported, though the latex still has a nice "give" to it. And I'm finally cool enough to need a quilt again!

Only downside - the mattress is very thick. My fitted sheets JUST fit. I was given a complimentary set of jersey sheets with purchase, but in future will likely just buy single flat sheets, with a super king for the base.

At no time did I feel pressured and I knew the refund wouldn't be contested if I wasn't happy. This is a no risk purchase, so if you want to give them a go, Ausbeds has my thumbs up.

delivery guy was super nice. As for the mattress I love it. Im sleeping much better, no more tossing and turning in the middle of the night to get comfortable to relieve any pain on my joints. Plus I dont get that stiff back pain when I get up. A bit more pricey than those bed in a box brands or the lower end big brand models but cheaper than buying a tempur. This is hands down the best mattress Ive ever owned for comfort and a good nights sleep. Australian made and owned which is an awesome bonus. The product range was concise. Three types of mattress, each with three levels of firmness (as far as I could tell). It felt very straightforward which appealed to me.

We paid for it on Sunday, they started making it on the Monday and it was ready a few days later. You don't have to wait weeks for it to be made and shipped from overseas.

Delivery was free. The driver was on time. We couldn't fit the mattress up the staircase of our terrace so the driver went back and got the owner to help. They secured the mattress with ropes and hoisted it over the balcony which was 4 meters above ground. I was really impressed with their attitude. They were simply terrific to deal with.

The mattress itself is great. We selected the firm version of the Aurora 8. It's firmer than our last mattress so it took a few nights to get used to it. I was looking for a new mattress because I was waking up with back pain whenever I slept on my side. My back felt great from Day One with the new mattress.

Overall, I'm stoked with the experience. The product is great and the people are really genuine and nice and it feels great to support a local business. I would highly recommend them.
