5 Graeham L.  · Just had an Ausgrid sparky repair the mains power fuse at my house. Can't speak highly enough of the guy that was here. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
3 David  · Ausgrid! We had a power outage today & I ended up receiving "7x"Seperate text messages. Bit annoying & with no way to stop them or reply - **very ordinary**
1 hut63205  · Extremely slow – Slow, dodgy.... No wonder you are warned not to abuse the staff over the phone. All those callers can't be wrong.
1 Oliver  · Worst customer service – Worst customer service. They are very slow in resolving power outage.

Ausgrid did work outside my house on 2 February 2024. I offered to move our cars from the street. They declined, then dropped a metal bar on the bonnet of one. Accidents happen. The employee gave me his number and acknowledged liability. Ausgrid asked me to claim via NRMA, which I did and paid the excess. Since then, Ausgrid has repeatedly… Read more

refused to concede liability to NRMA, or repay my excess. So, I am out of pocket the excess or have to sue to recover the amount, which is too small to worry about.

An absolutely awful company.

If you live in an area that's serviced by Ausgrid you can guarantee you will have a power outage at least once a year that will go on for at least 24 hours. There will be a decent chance that the outage will go on for so long that food in your fridge will spoil. It's completely unacceptable and disturbing to those who were born in Australia and… Read more

have lived here all their lives who know that power outages are not very common. That's what you get when your population explodes and energy supply doesn't increase at the same rate.

ausgrid as distributor model is poorly setup and not a customer centric model. Both organisations should work together, combine resources to help clients at busy times..more than 1hour waiting for call to be picked up.had to give up no of times to keep waiting.no sms or phone updates.old ,pregnant ,children living on street.Tree had brought down power lines.ausgrid need to have more call centre staff.ausgrid need to provide firm updates so residents can plan.ausgrid need to help seniors living on street.ausgrid need to provide temporary power to residents ausgrid need to coordinate with SES to restore power.ausgrid need to have more contractors ready to help at these times.Ausgrid need to have secondary connections for each install.Pay bills to energy australia who should really be responsible to client for arranging service fixes not ausgrid energy distributor..job no.W12248164. Demographics should be checked in prioritising jobs.Multiple teams should be sent to speed up fixing of jobs. It should be about service efficiency at all times storms, rains etc.to avoid other serious issues and save precious food spoilage.Do not just give a standard response.Fixing the inefficiency by action is more important.

Terrible – My washing machine blew up after turning the power back on due to the power cutting out whilst doing my washing & at about the same time my energy provider was transferred from energy Australia to AGL. I was told to make a claim through ausgrid. What a waste of time that was, All they could do is blame my own power supply even though my house is less than 8 years old. They couldn't get any worse Show details

Fitting new wire’s from pole to the house – My goodness, Ausgrid suck. They were meant to replace the old power line with a new one , the letter they put in our mail box said no out of pocket expense. In bold writing.. It was Ausgrid’s decision not mine. They attempted to connect the new wire’s to the house but the 50 plus year old clips and wires disintegrated in their hands when trying… Read more

to replace them. Would be a regular problem right? But no they said, if you want your power back on you need to get a specialist electrician technician level 2 or 3 to fit some clips and wire’s to restore your power. So shocked, I had to ring around and find an emergency electrician. I have lung problems and need power. So finally I found one. That’s $800 each clip plus wires, I said gosh all mighty. I’m a pensioner so any extra bills hurt me dearly. $1,580 dollars later . If I was aware there would have been a charge I would have said go away leave the line as is till I save up for it. That’s fair isn’t it? Bloody hell , be aware all Ausgrid who fleece us of our money each day, can’t even finish a job that they started. Suppose to be tradesmen. I don’t see a tradesman of any kind coming to your house and only half doing a job. What if your plumber turned the water off and left. It’s not fair that after 59 years of always paying my electricity bills on time. To multimillion dollar companies. I can’t see reason that they’d only half do a job. I’m so shocked. So shocked. Pathetic, oh sorry it’s your problem now just doesn’t cut it ……

Ausgrid is terrible – We are currently having power outage in the villawood, bass hill ,georges hall where in Friday night they cut off the power from 11pm to 2.30am. Today which is Saturday where we have no power from 4.25 to now.. they turned on the power at 9.25 for 5 mins then cut off the power and stated on their website that power to be ready by 7am Sunday. A big tree fell down at 1.30am last night and caused power lines to come down. The guys from Ausgrid were legendary. They arrived within 1/2 an hour and worked tirelessly to remove the tree, put the powerlines and poles back in position and restore power to our street. Big shout out to Chris Lowe and the team! Solar company disconnected the neutral cable, high risk of electrocution – On 16/01/2025 Sydney experienced a severe storm. We were in Melbourne at the time. Ausgrid informed us on 21/01/25 that they became aware through our Provider (due to their new smart technology), that our solar power was not being returned to the grid. This was classified as a serious issue. At 6pm a technician discovered our neutral cable had… Read more

AUSGRID literally saved all our lives. We are so grateful for their expertise and professionalism. They acted promptly and resolved our life threatening electrical breach, caused by a solar electrical company.

I am a house owner and not apartment owner I wouldn’t even give this service a 1—zero stars is more accurate. Sadly, it’s no surprise. Ausgrid’s rating sits at a dismal 2.1 stars, while other providers like Origin consistently score 4 and above. It’s deeply disappointing that companies like this are still allowed to serve the public. There’s… Read more

absolutely no regard for customer service.

They showed up like cowboys—cutting off our electricity two days in a raw without any notice. Our days were completely shattered. We had a tradie on-site whose work was completely disrupted.

Unfortunately, even with a dismal 2.1-star rating, Ausgrid is still operating—pretending to serve the community.

It’s baffling that such poor performance is tolerated. There’s no accountability, no customer care, and certainly no proffesionalism.

Bad now without power 15 hours and no time line or contact by ausgrid on when or if the powers going to restored – Looks like even the smallest problem on the power line becomes complex as there reason, why they can't fix the problem and just shut down the power to other homes around the area to make it look more complex then it is. If ausgrid look at lifting a couple of power line back onto the pole as complex maybe they should be in another type business and not in managing a power network. Show details

Excessive Electricity charges due to Ausgrid – It is totally disappointing that a major energy monopoly, Ausgrid, plans to charge people for energy they provide to Ausgrid, and Ausgrid sells on to others for a profit. This is something Ausgrid has attempted to cash in on since solar panels were first available about 15 years ago. It is beyond disappointing that the current NSW Labor Government… Read more

would allow this additional charge to happen at a time when people are really struggling with grossly inflated power bills as well as the effects of inflation. People installed solar panels at considerable cost and with minimal benefit as they provide only a small portion of the energy households require. No mechanism has been provided that would control when electricity flows to the grid. Most people cannot afford solar batteries which are currently extremely expensive and risky. People are told to minimise energy use during peak periods. It now seems that Ausgrid will not only sell that power to businesses but will in addition charge the people who supply it. The grid has to be continually extended and upgraded as it ages and as the population increases and to pretend upgrades are due solely to solar input lacks credibility. A major review of Ausgrid's management and practices is long overdue. Surely someone in the Senate can initiate that urgently.

Care factor, zero! – The total arrogance, disregard they show for consumers with their planned power outages is something similar to non-democratic regimes, shameful. This behaviour goes on in a supposedly western democratic country in the 21st century! Oh, but I'm sure if I knew someone up high, different arrangements could of been made. Disgusting. Show details

Ausgrid and NBN – My internet has been extremely slow since Ausgrid came to Lawson street in Hamilton( the second time they came 2 years ago to replace the copper lines with aluminum they did my house at the time as I had prepared for the visit from the letter in the mail I received, I said to them did they realize that they would disconnect the internet when you… Read more

pull the power, head guy said hang on will contact boss, he emailed him from his laptop in the truck and got a reply to say supposed to give NBN notice apparently they had not so they packed up and left) well back again after 2 years to upgraded the power lines on three houses and between 2 poles they still must not had approval for the upgrade because they drove of when the power was connected and confirmed everyone had power, but some how managed to blow the Node so no internet from the Thursday Rang up and reported electrician came Saturday morning at 8.30am and tested the node said he fixed what he could but NBN would have to come and fix the rest, NBN turned up about 10am and tested and fixed what he could but said it was an electrical problem and the node was showing working but when a load was put onto the internet came to a halt, and worked out it was electrical earth problem he contacted the original electrician and he came back and retested the lines and found the problem was in the new line cables that had been installed the previous days and that there was no proper earth. The electrician contacted the linesman with the crane truck and they came back out and re-crimped the earth on the cable which gave us all internet again and they drove off again late Saturday afternoon. I noticed that YouTube was caching all the time and to download a file was unatainable120k speed and speed test would not load during the day, try again early the next morning and got a connection download speed of 1.4Mb I am on a 100MB down and 40MB upload. contacted my ISP and they said they have notified NBN and I will just have to wait for the NBN to act, then they will find out it is a AUSGRID Problem, Talk about dodgy work this node system was 20year old technology when it was installed, England was ripping out this node system and installing optic fibre while Australia was just starting to install it thanks the Liberals, It is now the 14th of February and still waiting my neighbors are in the same situation lady next door can't work from home anymore as her video conference calls will not stay connected.
