Tree Trimming services

A council tree on the nature strip branched into my property touching and interfering with the electricity suppy cables coming into the house. I logged a ticket in the Ausgrid online form. They responded by phone call within a couple of hours to confirm if the situation was dangerous. In less than 24 hours (ie the next day) they sent a tree trimmer who removed the overhanging branches and placed it on the footpath for another team to collect. Due to some oversight the other team didn't collect after a week, so logged another ticket, again they called within a couple of hours to confirm pickup would be done within 24 hours. Branches were removed within 24 hours of my report. Great work Ausgrid Team ! Show details

they dont even deserve a one star. theyll happily charge u 180 disconnection fee if you cut off their service. normally, you pay to get "something" but with people as incosiderate as these are, you pay to lose. Show details

Ausgrid - may god bless you


Since the ‘Sale of the Century’ (Ausgrid sell off …) this company has become a real bunch of Aussie bludgers cheating, ripping off, wasting, you name it.

First, most of the experienced workforce has been sacked or made redundant, the remaining few have to work harder and more for less pay.

Doing work at night where there is no reason at all to do so, putting staff members at a higher risk of injury and accidents in the workplace, only to pay them a little bit more incl. penalties and other allowances, is the classic example of wasting shareholders money.

One star rating is still too much, but the lowest possible here – a fair rating would be -100 stars, you got it minus 100 stars

Street lights out, quick replacement

I rang to request repair of street lights which appeared to all go out at the same time. The matter was dealt with expeditiously, and the lights were replaced and in working order within a week. Great service.  Show details

Excellent service

Had a problem with my hot water service. Rang Ausgrid, where I was told due to the heavy rain they probably wouldn't get to me until the next day. They were there within 30 minutes. Very professional and great service.  Show details

Two outages in 2 weeks!

We have two outages in two weeks.
Just because they want to improve electricity for 3 km away on Herring Road, our neighbourhood has to cope with outages.
Poor planning causing minority residents as victims.

Unreliable network, frequent outages

Ausgrid network has frequent outages and the network is frustratingly unreliable. It's not the crews on the ground or the customer service, it's the frequent outages which I believe is a lack of investment (cost cutting). Much representation to management and government has not produced any constructive outcome. Writing this on Christmas Eve, power has been out for 4 hours so far with a further 3 to go if the restoration estimate is to believed. Show details

Ausgrid is terrible

We are currently having power outage in the villawood, bass hill ,georges hall where in Friday night they cut off the power from 11pm to 2.30am. Today which is Saturday where we have no power from 4.25 to now.. they turned on the power at 9.25 for 5 mins then cut off the power and stated on their website that power to be ready by 7am Sunday. What a joke., I don't even know why these @?$!_! Heads still have a job. Show details

No concerns about wildlife

Very disappointing news.
Yesterday, a Wires volunteer waited for almost 6 hours under a 39C sun for an employee to release a flying fox pup from the power lines (unfortunately its mother was electrocuted). When an employee finally arrived, it was too late: the pup was rescued and cared by amazing Wires volunteers but could not survive after being exposed to that heat for so long.
It's 2020! Better have an environmental policy and comply with it.

Excellent service from claims department

We lost power for several days like many other households after a bad storm earlier in the year, no fault of Ausgrid. We wasted a lot of food due to spoilage, and submitted a claim for compensation. This was kindly approved however I totally missed the initial approval email, and the case was closed after 30days. I phoned and spoke to Leanne who was so lovely and understanding, and she was able to re-open the case to process my claim. I am very grateful to Leanne and Ausgrid, and impressed with how they look after their customers. Show details

I am looking at changing electricity companies from ENERGY AUSTRALIA to AUSGRID.
I am a bit concerned after reading these reviews.
I dont have time to be chasing up power outages should ausgrid continue to have them.

I have been with energy Australia for 12 years and have never had a power outage.
I have come to check the reviews for ausgrid and some people have said they had 4 outages in one week!
That is a bit alarming. Those reviews were from 2 years ago so I am wondering if it was due to the high temperatures and heavy bush fires we had that year.

Also, don't all electricity companies get it from/run off the same grid? (I have absolutely no idea about this so if someone could clarify that would be helpful :) )

Do i have to use Ausgrid due to i live in a certain area where use their line? Most disgusting power supplier you can have in Oz. 2 times blackout within 3 weeks, each time lasted more than 16 hours, in an extreme hot day with a toddler at home. Most ironic thing is they stated the reason as storm and there is no rain at all here! Also same street some other houses are having power supply just fine. Why? Is it only becoz Ausgrid is useless? How can i change to any of these other suppliers like other neighbors?
