Your 1200 KG Tralier is both useless and dangerous. 80KPH maximum speed. Really (facepalm). My car got its front wheels up on the ramps and onto the trailer. Wet day, rear wheels no chance with the pathetic short slick greasy ramps that were provided. I had to back my car off and take the trailer back. Considering the amount of time wasted you… Read more

have caused me I should get a full refund. I have loaded cars onto trailers thousands of times with no incident and I can say without exception your 1200KG Trailer is the worst thing I have ever encountered.

Booked my in closed trailer for a week thinking that with rain on its way I would be safe and dry, but to my surprise when I opened the door it had been leaking and my market equipment and cartons of stock were wet.NOT HAPPY!! Very disappointed. I ended up putting a tarp up over my stuff inside the trailer. I also had to put air in the tires because they were low so over all not the best experience. Show details

Booking process takes ages, asks you the same thing several times. Even asks if you've hired before and just doesn't use those details. Touch screen not very accurate or fast. Trailer not in good condition, had to do up all the bolts on the hitch. Missing R clip so just had to find something in the boot. If I hadn't caught the loose bolts I would have been in trouble. Only thing that's good is price and close to me! Show details

It was horrible. My enclosed furniture trailer wasn’t even remotely waterproof or water resistant. I retired it 3 days early as it was useless to me. Show details

Booking process was great but the trailer was barely roadworthy. Tandem car carrier spare wheel was flat and wheel on one of the duals was wrong size and spun freely without touching the road. Handbrake did not work at all.

Use them if you want to risk your life! – We hired a 3.5 tonne enclosed furniture trailer from Gold Coast U-Haul 2 weeks ago. The trailer only had a couple of suitcases and two kids bikes inside. Two hours down M1, one of the wheels of trailer came off. The service station was only 2km away and we managed to toll it to the service station. When we got there, there was heavy smoke… Read more

inside the trailer. We can U-haul for assistance who basically said they can’t do anything. We called NRMA, at our own expense, who basically said the trailer has not been serviced properly. As a result of it, our 4WD is damaged and the clutch went busted. We had to stop at Coffs and hired another vehicle to continue the journey.

We were so lucky because it could have led to a major accident on M1. We had our three young children on board as well. I can’t imagine what could have happened. We could have had a serious accident and all of us could have died.

Two weeks later, they still refused to refund the rental, refused to reimburse NRMA and the cost to fix our 4WD.

Left 2 separate requests on website to be contacted however no one did. Hired a car trailer which was in very poor condition. Had to adjust the brakes on the trailer, repaired driving lights which weren’t working, still had one clearance light out. Only one safety chain at the front and two broken tie down points. To say it was a very nervous 6hr drive with $30,000.00 worth of historic vehicle on the back is an understatement. Show details

Hired a small box trailer to transport a grandfather clock into the country. Easy to hire and paperwork easy. It rained a lot and the item was protected inside. Only photo is attaching to the toe ball.

leak as I had to top up throughout the time I used it over the trip. When returning the trailer I advised pearl energy to contact you guys to replace repair to avoid a future hirer getting stuck/Stranded Their comments were they don’t own it so it’s not their responsibility which I thought was a little short sighted on their behalf (which doesn’t surprise me these days) just thought I’d you know so the necessary repairs can be done. Fell free to contact me should you require any further details Cheers R

I used the kiosk to hire a trailer. It was extremely sketchy, Whenever I attempted to enter a number or a letter. It would just keep adding ******** so I would have to delete and start again. the attendant to hire another trailer. When I returned the trailerafter 2 1/2 hours,I realised I was charged $70 +7 dollars GST. I don’t know why the GST charge was separate and I only hired the trailer for three hours,I didn’t buy any extra Insurance so the charge should’ve been 60 the receipt was completely wrong, I contacted the company by phone a suggested by the attendant, The wait time was over an hour. U-Haul have said they wilI give me a refund to bring it down to the $60 that it should’ve been in the first place. a terrible experience, kiosk faulty, trailer faulty and unsafe, unfortunately, they could not give me a reason why this happened. made a simple job hard, having to muck around with the trailer and then the phone Call and the faulty terminal took hours of my day.

Dear U-Haul Customer Service, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent trailer hire experience. I was advised that U-Haul would contact me to resolve this issue four days ago, but I have not received any follow-up. Firstly, I am very disappointed with the hire period and booking system. I only required the trailer for a… Read more

one-way, one-day hire, but your system would only allow a three-day booking due to the long weekend. I was also told that the trailer could only be returned to a depot, not a service station like the one it was collected from. This resulted in two unnecessary extra days of hire charges. More seriously, during use the trailer experienced a critical failure — a wheel completely detached while on the road, with all five wheel nuts missing. I was fortunate that it was the passenger-side wheel, as this could have caused a serious accident had it been on the driver’s side. This was extremely distressing. When I contacted U-Haul for roadside assistance, I was told that if I left the trailer on the side of the road, I would be responsible for any damage. I was in no physical condition to make repairs or lift heavy items. I received mixed and unhelpful responses —how does one go and get wheel nuts if the they are unable to leave the trailer on the side of the road? Ultimately, I had to arrange private assistance. A friend drove more than 30 minutes from Mackay, purchased replacement wheel nuts, and helped me fit the spare wheel so the trailer could be moved. Around 90 minutes after my first call, I was informed that U-Haul had dispatched a tilt tray to recover the trailer. I did not inform your team that we had managed to move the trailer because I understood that doing so would have cancelled the recovery service if we were unable to get to our destination. If the tilt tray had collected the trailer, it would have been taken to a depot, and I would not have been able to access my belongings for over two days, leaving me stranded without a way to complete my move. I am requesting: • A full refund for the additional two days of hire that I did not require. • Compensation or reimbursement for the costs incurred purchasing replacement wheel nuts. • A formal acknowledgement of the safety issue and how U-Haul intends to prevent such incidents in the future. This incident caused unnecessary expense, distress, and significant inconvenience. I would appreciate a written response to confirm receipt of this complaint and outline the steps U-Haul will take to resolve it.

I was looking to hire a trailer interstate. Uhaul cost was half of rival MoveYiurSelf plus I was to collect trailer 200kms away. Uhaul totally meet my requirements collecting my trailer half the cost in Dubbo where I lived to move my stuff to Cairns where I relocated. The trailer was new and all fittings and fixtures were of superior quality. I will definitely use this service again. Thanks alot Uhaul team :)

The hire process was smooth, however bigger trailers like the one I got (12×6 cage)need ramps or ramp tail gate for easy loading and offloading stuff especially heavy one stuff.

The heavy duty car trailer was easy to book & super easy to return. The website was very user friendly too. On pickup I wasn’t asked for ID or taken to the trailer. safely. On returning the trailer we tried to tell the guy at the servo & he pointed us toward a U-Haul machine to book it back in as returned. When I asked him to put his code in the machine & check the trailer over he just gave me the code & asked me to do it myself. Again no ID check either. As a customer that was very easy for me & the trailer was returned in better condition than it left in. As a hire company, I’d be concerned. No-one saw me take the trailer. The wrong person could have just hooked it up & left with no record.
