Avoid like the plague. My experience with ACTAC has been an absolute nightmare, and I would strongly caution anyone considering enrolling. Everything appears fine while you are self-paced and “self-learning”. However, the moment you require support, confirmation, or intervention from ACTAC, communication and accountability completely collapse. … Read more
I paid in full, completed all modules, and independently organised my placement. This is where everything fell apart. Mandatory video assessment sessions were not available to book on the student dashboard, and despite repeated emails and phone calls requesting assistance, no meaningful support was provided.
I submitted all required work to the best of my ability, given the circumstances. Due to ACTAC’s extremely slow assessment turnaround, I was almost two months out of placement before being informed that I had “failed” solely because I missed video submissions. This was not through any fault of my own. I provided extensive documented evidence showing I repeatedly requested help because the booking system did not allow me to complete the videos.
ACTAC deflected responsibility and claimed I had not completed the videos, despite clear proof that I was actively seeking support. I still failed. Three months later, I was told I would need to return to the school and redo the videos, an unreasonable and impractical request.
As a result, I burned over 100 hours of leave from my full-time job to complete placement, only to be left completely unsupported. The placement booklet alone is 161 pages, and the school that hosted me has stated they will never accept another ACTAC student again due to the administrative burden and poor provider support.
Do yourself a favour and complete this qualification through TAFE instead; it may even be free. Alternatively, be aware that in many cases, you can apply for teacher aide roles without this certificate at all, which makes this experience feel even more misleading.
I am currently in the process of an ombudsman complaint to attempt to recover some of the money paid or get my well-earned qualification.
This has been one of the most stressful and unprofessional education experiences I have ever encountered.
I generally do not write negative reviews, but in this case I feel it is important to share my experience. Unfortunately, this has been one of the poorest childcare certificate providers I have dealt with. The management is highly disorganised and lacks effective communication, even among themselves. While I will acknowledge that phone calls are… Read more
answered promptly, this is the only positive aspect I have encountered. The quality of problem-solving, teaching, and information provided is extremely poor and well below an acceptable standard.
What was most disappointing, however, was being laughed at by the “principal” of this institution when I was under stress, stress that was caused by their own miscommunication. This was unprofessional and deeply discouraging.
I strongly advise prospective students to carefully reconsider before enrolling.
Disappointed – Wouldn’t Recommend Completed all theory and placement, but ACTAC changed has changed the final assessment to live Zoom calls while teaching children with disabilities. Schools and parents aren’t okay with this, and no alternative (like an assessor) is offered. I wasn’t able to finish, and many other students faced the same issue. No support from the college. A waste of time. Show details
Had a good experience – I started to work with ACTAC 2 years ago, Ms. Asmita helped me a lot to complete my course from my first day, I had many problems with my work but Ms. Asmita guided me and it was very helpful for me and finally I completed my course, I really appreciate her help. Thank you so much for everything Mrs Asmita. Show details
Much easier than high school – Staff were friendly and always available, completed in under 6 months. Placement was an absolute breeze. The placement booklet is mainly instructions and massive spaces for you to complete. Its literally so easy. Questions are less difficult than high school level.

I have many people I know who completed Certificate 3 but the one I know who is doing a course through this institution is having the worst time. First of all the requirement is very lengthy compared to the rest with so many unnecessary number of… Read more
placement and hundreds of pages booklet for completion. Second of all there is no clear guidances as to what are the required submissions. You think you have done everything and then when you don't hear back from them for weeks, and you call them the status of your submission, they say there is another booklet. There are many surprises and immense booklets to complete. It is probably easier to do a masters degree than certificate 3 with them. Not recommended at all unless you want to kill yourself.
Follow-up · All this institute wants is to prolong and extend the duration so they can charge more money . If you are thinking of enrolling in this institute , better cancel now.

I had a very positive experience with the Australian College of Teacher Aides and Childcare. The course was practical, well structured, and helped me build confidence for working in a school environment. A special thanks to my assessor, Dalal Adam, for her support and guidance throughout the program. I highly recommend ACTAC to anyone interested in education support.
I have just completed my school based education support course through Actac. While the content can seem comprehensive at times, there was always support when i needed it. Dalal was my assesor for my practical component and i can not speak highly enough of her.
It was a wonderful experience. My mentor Abira Sarkar was really an amazing and supportive mentor. Her timely guidance helped me a lot to complete my certification at my expected timeframe.
Negative reviews
The only good thing about doing my cert 3 in early childhood education with ACTAC was it being completely online and I could study when it suited me. More than 2 years later, I am still waiting for the final certification. Repeated requests for assistance/clarification were ignored. They are extremely slow to mark work (5+ weeks), and there is a… Read more
lot of repetition. This college has created a lot of unnecessary stress and I wish I had never signed with them.
I am very disappointed with the overall process. The assessments took longer than the timeframe that was initially mentioned, which already caused delays. After completing all my assessments and requirements, I was then informed that the certificate issuance may take up to a month. While I understand that the hard copy might take time, it is… Read more
frustrating that even the soft copy cannot be issued sooner. For students whose time is limited and who plan to complete their course as quickly as possible, this process can be quite inconvenient. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this college to those expecting a quicker completion and certification process.
Save your money, and more importantly, your time. Once you’ve paid the course fee, the support from admin and trainers drops to almost zero. In some cases, it feels worse than no support at all. As other students have mentioned, trainers ask you to record videos that raise serious concerns about children’s privacy and require you to complete… Read more
tasks that can be extremely difficult to achieve in real placement settings.
If [Name Removed] is assigned as your trainer, I strongly suggest requesting a refund immediately. In my experience, he made the placement process unnecessarily difficult and seemed intent on creating obstacles rather than offering guidance. Neither he nor any ACTAC staff assisted in finding placement, despite all required documentation being provided.
We submitted every detail requested, yet [Name Removed] held onto the placement booklet for weeks, asking for information the school itself had never even heard of. When I finally contacted another trainer, she verified everything within minutes and issued the booklet without requiring any additional documentation. This strongly suggests the delays were unnecessary and avoidable.
It has now been three months, and the placement booklet is still not signed off.
Once again, I would strongly advise others to think carefully before enrolling. There are better options available that value students’ time, money, and effort.

I completed SBES Certificate 3 with ACTAC institute. My trainer was Dalal Adam. Thanks Dalal, I highly appreciate your assistance for achieve my qualification. She always assist me when I need her help. I highly recommend this institute who willing to complete their qualifications online self paced.

5 stars for Dalal. I am very thankful to my assessor Dalal Adam for her constant support and encouragement. She was always approachable and explained everything so clearly, which made learning much easier for me. I really appreciate all her help during my course.
Follow-up · I would like to raise a concern regarding my interaction with David, the assessor. I found his behaviour very unprofessional and disrespectful during the time I was about to start my placement. He spoke to me in a loud and rude manner, gave me a very hard time unnecessarily, and also disconnected my call while I was speaking. I felt uncomfortable… Read more
I am very grateful to ACTAC for this valuable learning experience. During my studies, I was able to successfully transition my background in marketing into the field of School Age Education and Care, while also working within the industry. It was a challenging but very rewarding journey, allowing me to learn from both theory and real-life practice. A big thank you!
I strongly discourage enrolling with ACTAC based on my personal experience. I chose this provider because it seemed affordable, but I ended up paying more. Before releasing my certificate, they demanded an extra $200 for an alleged missed payment, yet they could not provide any proof—only email insisting I pay. The placement assessments were… Read more
also unrealistic and extremely stressful, especially being required to record videos using dolls while working in a very busy centre.
Overall, it felt more about collecting student money than genuinely supporting students to graduate. This is based on my experience, but I have also struggled to find positive reviews online. Please think carefully before enrolling.
My experience with ACTAC has been nothing short of appalling. Nearly three months into the submission process, I am still being forced to jump through unnecessary hoops and re-submit documents that were already provided. What was advertised as a professional and supportive educational environment has proven to be the complete opposite. The entire… Read more
experience has been chaotic, disorganised and utterly unacceptable.
Communication has been inconsistent at best and non-existent at worst. Each time I contacted the college, I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a paying student seeking basic clarification. The workplace booklet provided was so poorly aligned with real school environments that my placement school had never seen anything like it.
The handling of my assessment submission is particularly indefensible. I uploaded my required videos on 2 December 2025 and received written confirmation that everything was satisfactory. Then, on 12 February 2026 — ten weeks later — I was suddenly told that the videos had been uploaded incorrectly and needed to be resubmitted. How it could possibly take ten weeks to identify such an issue is beyond comprehension. Either the system is fundamentally flawed, or the oversight is simply negligent. In either case, the responsibility should not fall on the student.
I am relying on this qualification to secure employment, and the delays, poor communication, and lack of accountability have directly jeopardised that. Meanwhile, friends who completed the same course through other institutions describe supportive, efficient and well-organised experiences — everything this college has failed to provide.
Prospective students should think very carefully before enrolling. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.
Studied in 2020. My advice? Avoid at all costs!! Little support but mostly avoid due to the Placement booklet. It is huge, soo much work for you and the supervisor, so many scenarios that just wouldn't come up during 100 hours placement. The school where i did my placement were absolutely shocked at the sheer size and expectation. I had to do the… Read more
placement after completing only 4 units because i needed to do it while I was on maternity leave. I finished the placement and then i could not complete the course. They were able to give me proof of the units I completed but absolutely nothing to say I had completed the 100 hours placement because ACTAC said if I went elsewhere to complete the certIV in ES then the placement i did would be worthless. I would have to do them again with the new provider. The whole experience was a waste of time, money and energy and left me so frustrated and upset. Seriously, just go elsewhere. During my placement there was another lady doing the same course. 2 days a week in class, course complete in 6 months and her placement booklet was no more than 10 pages!! Good luck :)
[D Adam ] was great , she was very professional and accurate, she was very responsive to my emails and phone calls . I wish her all the best and keep up the great work you do for your students [Name Removed]
I bought a cert 3 and diploma package. I felt completely unsupported throughout my entire study, I took a year and 6 months to complete my online units with little to no feed back and took them over the allowed time to mark every unit. I completed all online units 11 months ago and once I started my placement I had issue after issue. It has taken… Read more
6 months since completing and submitting my placement booklet to finally have ‘graduated’. It took well over a month each time I resubmitted my booklet (they say it should take 21 days) and my emails where never responded to and calls where hardly any help. It took them 2 months to tell I submitted the booklet wrong the second time - 2 months to even look at the booklet. I received an email a month ago that said my booklet had been marked successfully and the graduation process has started yet I am still yet to receive my certificate. After many emails and little to know communication I was told my certificate was under going a compliance check. I would not recommend studying with them, it has taken 2 and a half years to complete this certificate. I do not plan on continuing with my diploma as I have not received the service I have paid for. I feel frustrated and defeated.
I have found the overall course very lack lustre, very repetitive and the process very dragging. When all units are complete, there is a 200 page booklet where you fill it out and pretty much repeat all of the unit questions all over again. That same booklet then also needs to be assessed by your employer (who also have 200 pages of questions to… Read more
do themselves as well). The course documents is shocking and never in a usable format. Support is shocking. Assessors take ages to mark assessments and give very minimal guidance and direction.
It was only when at my absolute wits end, at the end of my Cert III, that I was passed on to [Name Removed], who was an amazing trainer and assessor. They did a fantastic job at guiding me through my studies, speeding through the process for me, and assisted to the best of their abilities which has been very much appreciated.
Otherwise, shocking experience with ACTAC. Im now locked in to do my diploma. God help me.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Certificate III in Education Support course. The content was engaging and highly relevant and the support from the trainers and assessors was exceptional. A special thanks to Dalal, who was always calm, patient and incredibly helpful whenever I needed guidance or got stuck. I truly appreciated the encouragement and support throughout the course.
I was weary commencing an online course, however ACTAC appealed me as the best option for my needs and I am not disappointed in the slightest! Everytime I have called requesting help my questions have been answered thoroughly and with care. I recommend this course!

Shocking scam. Completed my whole course and then received no qualification at the end because I was assisting the many others being scammed to formally complain to the Director of this business.
Do yourself a favor and don’t study at this institution! I chose it almost three years ago after seeing that the learning was online and could fit into my daily routine. Let me start from the end — I completed my Certificate III studies a month ago. They said each unit would be assessed within 10 days, but in reality, it took over a month. … Read more
It’s important to mention that there are a lot of units and an overwhelming amount of reading materials — something completely unrealistic for someone studying for a Certificate III.
There were always comments on my submissions, and I had to go back and fix everything repeatedly, which again delayed the review process by about another month.
After I finally finished all the units and was certain I was done, I was shocked to discover there was another booklet — about 200 pages — that I had to complete. No one had ever told me about it or even mentioned it.
The entire booklet was full of questions and scenarios I had to respond to (as if I hadn’t done enough already). In addition, my workplace had to fill out those 200 pages too. And on top of that, the trainer assigned to me by the college stopped working, and I wasn’t informed or given any information about who would replace her.
I ended up being passed from person to person — each one promised something, but in reality, things were handled differently. No one seemed to know what had been said or agreed with others I had spoken to at the college.
And of course, beyond the time wasted, I also had to pay extra fees to extend my studies.
The only positive thing I can say is about Asmita — once she got involved, things started to improve.
Unfortunately, the whole experience was frustrating, exhausting, and just not worth it. I wish I had read this kind of feedback before I made the decision to enroll.
I have completed a Graduate Diploma in Education with UWA and honestly that was easier than completing a Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care with ACTAC. Awful experience. Hardly any support if you had to gain clarification on a question; I’d just be emailed back (5-10 days later) “refer to the question”… Often the question would be… Read more
poorly worded, with spelling mistakes or it’d be grammatically incorrect, leaving you to guess what they meant. Work was always marked late. The hoops I had to jump through to get this thing completed was ridiculous. The content was highly repetitive, lengthy, and very difficult to calculate how long it would take to complete (so you could roughly calculate how long it would take to get finished). Some assessments had 10 questions, some had 20, and then all assessments had subquestions (1a, 1b, 1c) and even that was irregular. It felt like a lot of unnecessary work for a Cert III; when I told colleagues at daycares that the Practical Booklet was 180 pages long, they always responded with shock. There are also 32 assignments that must be completed on top of that. 32!!! Then there’s Task 1 and 2 video evidence- which is a small improvement to what a friend who completed the course had to do a year earlier. They make it very difficult to find the answers in the resource books, which serves no purpose other than to make it incredibly time consuming. There’s no evidence to suggest that making it hard to find the answers makes the student learn the information better…. From ALL of the people I know who have done a course with ACTAC, no one has had anything positive to say, ever. So I believe the reviews to be fake and productreview.com.au should check their authenticity.
I had the pleasure of completing my Childhood Education and Care Certificate iii with ACTAC, which was an exceptional experience. provide feedback, and offer guidance whenever needed. Her support was invaluable, especially during my placement. She walked me through each step, ensuring I understood the requirements and felt confident in my abilities.
I want to extend my gratitude to Asmita for her exceptional teaching and mentorship. Her passion for education and care is evident in her work, and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from her. I highly recommend ACTAC and Asmita to anyone pursuing a career in childhood education and care.
Please save your time and money and do not enrol with this provider. I was enrolled in Cert IV education support. Everything was fine until I reached the placement part of the course. First of all , it is nearly impossible to find a placement on your own, which I understand is not the college's fault because they clearly state that you have to… Read more
find the placement on your own. I spent four months, contacting every school in the area where I live. I could not find any school that would accommodate me . Somehow found some one, who worked at my son's school and finally I was accepted. Second problem is the placement booklet. It is so tedious and so long ( 200 pages) that no school supervisor is going to have enough time to sit with you and finish it with you. And the videos that you have to make and upload. There are consent issues regarding that. You try to contact the college with the questions about placement booklet and they are not going to get back to you for weeks. You are left in limbo, not knowing what to do. I finally gave up. All the time and money wasted. I strongly suggest to opt for TAFE colleges rather than these private RTOs if you want to study for this course. This RTO is in the field just to make money off their students.
Honestly, don't do it to yourself! – I enrolled in this course when I was living in western QLD & needed to at least be enrolled in a cert 3 in children's services & care for a new roll as a nanny. If you are living near a TAFE or such just bite the bullet & pay the bigger bucks to get the support needed. I have studied via online before & managed, I read the negative reviews but… Read more
thought I would be fine. It was a struggle, I never expected to complete the course. I could never get on to the "teacher", she would take days to call me back if she did at all. She mostly took up to 8 weeks to mark & return my assessments (supposed to be within 7 days). The workbook was a nightmare to complete then upload plus the expectation on the daycare centre I was working at was huge, I was lucky they wanted me to work there. The video's were worse & no-one could tell me how to upload everything, I eventually worked it out for myself, then after I managed to upload them they couldn't access them & we had to do it over zoom. The "teacher" changed in the last few months of the course & I think there was a language barrier which made it worse. I was honestly shocked when they passed me, I felt like they were actively trying to make me give up & fail. I can't say enough negative things about ACTAC.
