SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU My young son took his car to Auto Masters Canning Vale on 04-02-2026 expecting honest advice and fair pricing. Instead, he walked away with a bill of over $2,400. Yes, a battery was included in the work, but the price charged for it — along with the overall invoice — was, in our view, completely unreasonable. As a… Read more
young driver with limited mechanical knowledge, he trusted the advice he was given. Unfortunately, that trust was not respected.
What made the situation even more concerning was that he was also told the car needed new tyres, even though those tyres had only travelled about 10,000 km. Our previous set of the same tyres lasted roughly 40,000 km, so that recommendation immediately raised serious questions.
After reading through many other reviews, it is hard not to notice similar concerns being raised repeatedly — high bills, unexpected recommendations, and customers leaving feeling they were pushed into work they did not truly understand or expect. Several reviews from women and younger customers describe very similar experiences, which is troubling.
Before the standard response appears saying “we can’t find the booking”, “this isn’t an authentic review”, or “there was a video explaining the work”, let me be clear:
• This was a real visit to Auto Masters Canning Vale • The date was 04-02-2026 • The invoice total was over $2,400 • One of the recommendations was for new tyres at only 10,000 km
The issue isn’t that work was done — the issue is pricing, transparency, and trust. When a young person takes their car in, they should receive honest guidance, not leave feeling like they have been talked into excessive costs.
I strongly suggest anyone — particularly young drivers, women, and families — get a second opinion before approving major work here.
In our view, this was not service — it was opportunistic selling dressed up as advice.
This experience left us feeling that a young customer was seen as an easy sale rather than someone who deserved honest advice.
I had my Hyundai serviced after purchasing a VIP voucher. Plainland service was very expensive, but I moved and decided to try Burpengary yesterday for a service. Big mistake. I did mention I would need tyres unfortunately they don't deal with tyres long story short I was left with black tyres (awesome) but the pressure hadn't been checked (all… Read more
needed air) down to 25 I checked on leaving, Radiator was down on fluid window washer reservoir was about empty. My window screen was like they had put dust on it. Never again the quote to do what they said needed doing was outrageous. Guess I will be going back to finding a new mechanic after this experience. Yes, it only cost me $140 for the so-called service but the VIP card was very costly to purchase in the first instance. Very unhappy guys I happen to be trying to live on an aged pension just lucky I learned how to upkeep basic things under my hood myself. DEB
Got a compressor replaced two years ago,and now the air conditioning has stopped working, just hoping it needed regassing I took it back, then to find out the compressor is not working again,I was shocked, previous costs were around $3000.No warranties exist anymore,as well as customer service/support.The worst experience I’ve ever had with a car, never going back to Greenwood Automasters again, all they are getting is bad reviews from me Show details

I went to the Barossa auto masters for a full service and the next day after the full service I noticed one of my wheel cup is missing and I put a complain because there was a misunderstanding, however the next day they ordered new wheel cups for my car and fixed it for free, which is great and thank you team Barossa. Beware of Auto Masters Thuringowa & the VIP Club I recently took my car to Auto "Masters" Thuringowa for a routine logbook service, but what followed was incredibly frustrating. Immediate Issues: My car was running perfectly before the service. The moment I drove home, acceleration problems appeared. The next time I started it, two fault lights… Read more
came on—two unrelated failures at the exact same time!
Their "Diagnosis": Auto "Masters" denied any responsibility, claiming it was a coincidence and insisting two sensors had suddenly failed. They wanted to charge me nearly $1,000 for replacements! Their so-called "compromise"—waiving labour—was meaningless, as I had already paid for their VIP Club, which includes free labour anyway!
The Real Issue: Thankfully, I got a second opinion at Double D Automotive. In just 3 minutes, they found the real cause—a disconnected hose! (See photos). They reattached it, ran a check, and the fault lights disappeared instantly—no need for expensive sensor replacements.
Lost Trust: Even with "free" labour, I will never let Auto "Masters" touch my car again. After this experience, I can’t help but question whether the other "necessary" repairs they recommended were even genuine.
⚠️ Be Cautious: If you take your car here, think twice before trusting their diagnosis. Next time they send you a video claiming something is faulty, ask yourself—would you actually be able to tell from the video, or are you just taking their word for it?

Awful Experience! Took my car to Auto Masters in June for a service — they found the turbo pipe was broken and being held together by cable ties, then quoted me to repair it. I declined and went back to Volkswagen under warranty, who advised that… Read more
these pipes don’t just “break” — it was clear pressure had been applied. When I went back to Auto Masters, they claimed my car was already like that in December when I had my previous service done with them. They provided footage which only showed the engine partially covered — hiding the area in question. I paid over $1,000 for that December service (including $700 worth of “recommended repairs”) and yet somehow, they didn’t notice my engine was cable-tied together? Their own December service reports stated no issues with the engine. I would expect that a company that prides itself on “thorough” servicing and safety checks would have picked up something so serious. Consumer Protection has now advised that Auto Masters have taken no responsibility. Their only offer was to “fix it at cost” — which is completely unacceptable. I have since had the car fixed via the dealer direct and I will be escalating further.

Another great experience at Automasters Slacks Creek and it's why we drive our 5 family vehicles 40 minutes away to be looked after properly and honestly. Definitely recommend the friendly guys at Moorooka Auto Masters for their great job servicing the breaks on my Mazda. They also identified some other small issues which I had them resolve. The workshop is clean and tidy and plenty of parking. The train is also handy if you're not taking their courtesy car. Great service and the video explanation made the decision to proceed easy. Salesman going door to door selling discount vouchers for Automasters. I was willing to talk to him until he opened his folder and overtly showed me the personal details of other people in the street who had bought them. excused myself for a minute to go to the bathroom. I called my friend up the road whose name I saw on the sales guys folder. No surprise that he was told he was buying the last two vouchers and he was also annoyed that he was shown the details of our neighbours. Back at my front door, I politely farewelled my new friend and sat down to think about the line between salesmanship and lying a manipulation. I didn’t have to think long, as my friend had posted this guys antics on our Community Facebook page and the verdict was unanimous. It left a sour taste in everyone’s mouth and we won’t be eating what they’re serving. I liked Automasters until this point. Years of advertising “transparency” as a key part of their brand went out the window with our community. He looked like he had sold 30 or so vouchers, but lost at least 1,350 opportunities based on the “likes” on my friends Facebook post. I was going to write a short review sorry. But I didn’t have time.
Oh, and our location wasn’t in the list below. It was Hervey Bay.

level of detail they go into to explain the service being performed, issues they find, and the level of detail in the paperwork they hand you back. You can see from all of the information provided, including the video, that everything is legitimate and there is no "scam tactics" that one would usually have apprehension from dodgy mechanics. It's actually the first time ever in my whole life I have received a clear, detailed video from a mechanic explaining the issues they found. It really instils confidence in their work. They were also very honest in their billing and they refunded for an item they didn't end up using. The service was timely, the premises were spot clean and professional, the gentlemen at reception were super friendly and approachable with my questions, and they provide the paperwork in a nice little envelope so you don't lose anything. And further to all that, the car windows were cleaned and the car vacuumed. You have created a new loyal customer and I won't even think about going anywhere else. I will recommend Auto Masters to everyone I know for trusted, friendly, professional, and exceptional service. Thank you
I couldn't be happier with the service I received from Mick, the manager at Automasters Bunbury, over the last two days. issue. They then contacted my car dealer and gave them their report. Although the dealer chose to tow the vehicle back to Perth due to the complexity of the repair, Mick still offered friendly support right up until the tow driver arrived at 6pm the following evening (long after closing time!) I can't speak highly enough of Mick's professionalism and his preparedness to go above and beyond , even where the repair was not going to earn him anything. I would recommend Automasters Bunbury to anybody requiring courtesy and professionalism.

I took my work van in for a routine oil and filter change on a Saturday morning—nothing major, just standard servicing. I picked it up just before closing at noon and drove off to attend to a client in Perth’s CBD. Unknown to me, the van had been leaking oil from the newly installed filter for nearly 30 kilometers. I only realized the issue when I arrived at my client’s site and saw the van continuing to leak oil all over their pristine paved sidewalk.
That’s when the real frustration began.
Auto Masters closes completely over the weekend—no emergency help desk, no technical support, no guidance. In 2025, I find it baffling that a business of this size and scope still doesn’t offer any form of after-hours assistance. All you get is a third-party service that answers calls, takes messages, and assures you someone will get back to you—eventually.
Left with no support and unable to leave the van leaking oil in the CBD until Monday, I had to act. I contacted RAC, but since I wasn’t a member, I had to pay $355 upfront for a membership and technician dispatch before a tow truck could even be arranged. I chose this as the most affordable option at the time. Meanwhile, my own 24/7 service business was at a standstill for three full days until the van was repaired and back on the road.
I called Auto Masters’ Head Office at 9 a.m. Monday and eventually received a return call around 2 p.m. from the Operations Manager. The call, from his mobile phone with poor reception, was less than helpful. I was given the usual runaround and told they “could have arranged a tow”—but only if I’d left my van leaking oil in front of a high-end client’s premises all weekend.
To make matters worse, the Operations Manager began debating the reimbursement for the tow costs, suggesting I should have booked a standard tow truck for $700 instead—implying that might have had a better chance of being reimbursed. Seriously?
Having worked in this industry for over 30 years, I understand the importance of honesty, accountability, and doing the right thing when you're at fault. I’ve always believed in making smart decisions that reduce pain and inconvenience for my clients. Unfortunately, I didn’t see that level of professionalism or maturity from Auto Masters' Head Office.
As of now, I’m still waiting to see if my client will pass on the $1,000 invoice for cleaning up the oil spill. And I have little hope of being fully reimbursed for the unexpected costs I incurred, simply because I made the poor choice of servicing my van on a Saturday.
Lesson learned: Auto Masters sets the rules—and you're on your own if anything goes wrong.
