I was given a Baccarat knife set for a Christmas present. They are the best knife’s I have ever used. German steel. With a life time warranty. I would definitely recommend these knives to my family and friends. You won’t regret it.
$149.99 for instant rusting of knives. First time use of one knife and it started rusting (from being in contact with a bit of water), but now I have 10+ knives full of rust. Cutting ANYTHING and they rust. Either I got a bad batch or the product is just plain poor. Very disheartening. Photos attached. Show details
Love my knife set – My daughter bought me these knives as a gift a couple of years ago and I noticed the handles of two knives were cracked. I contacted Baccarat for replacements and it was so simple and stress free. Thank you Sheen from Global retail for sending me two new knives as replacements. Highly recommend. Show details

Handles cracking – Handles have started to crack in various places. Never placed in dishwasher Show details
What Lifetime Warranty? – I purchased these knives on special and have diligently cared for them and sharpened them as per their instructions. A couple of years ago I noticed that a couple of them had started developing chips in the blade. Early May this year I reached out to the place of purchase (House Parramatta) and they led me to the Global Retail Brands website to… Read more
lodge a claim. I did so with receipt and photos. I have never heard anything back from them, yet when I log on to see the progress of my claim, it is marked as 'solved'. I have tried calling customer service six times now (no exaggeration) only to sit on hold for twenty minutes each time and then have their system disconnect the call. Very disappointing.

Love my knives – Brought the knife block 2 years ago, if you run your steal over them every time you use them ,you'll never be disappointed. Best knives I've ever purchased myself. Show details
Very pleased – Been using my knives in the kitchen for 9 years. They sharpen easily and keep the edge for at least a week before I sharpen them again. I am a Game Ranger and cannot stand bad quality knives. Show details
perfect – my husband purchased this set for me after i had been eyeing it for 12months, can not fault this knife set! fantastic as an everyday kitchen knife set for all meats / chopping requirements and looks chic, neat, tidy, and fits in with any decor Show details
Negative reviews
Yes, definitely rubbish – Not impressed at all. Have bought other no name cheapo knifes that have worked for years, without hassle, without nonstop sharpening. These knife set is crap, and I'm supposed to keep non stop sharpening, to get the family dinner sorted. What a pathetic joke. Not happy Show details
Baccarat Knife Set review – I purchased these knives and 5 more sets over the last 5 years for nieces and nephews wedding gifts under the belief they had a lifetime warranty. My carving knife blade snapped in two. Robins Kitchen will not do anything - wait for it - "because I don't have the docket"?? What a scam. Shame on Robins Kitchen for pathetic customer service but… Read more
also shame on Baccarat and Global Retails Brands for misleading the Australian public with Warranty statements you clerly have no intention of upholding.

Rust marks – After a couple of uses rust marks appear I have looked after them how do I remove the rust they were a retirement gift from my co workers would love to remove rust Show details
Love it. Good for amateur chef – I like these knives. I am an amateur in the kitchen but just wanted some decent knives that are easy to maintain. I previously had a cheap set and didn't take care of them to lazy to sharpen them on the steel so I like these because they have an inbuilt sharpener. They cut very well. My friend who is a chef has told me they are good quality.… Read more
I also like they have matching steak knives.
If you want a pair of good priced, decent knives that are easy to maintain, these are great!
Love them – You must read the instructions first, I know what you're thinking - instructions for knives, but yes. Beautiful sharp knives easy handles and feel nice to slice and chop. Slices though meat just like butter. Best knives I've ever bought Show details
You get what you pay for – The actual composition is actually the best on the market - each knife in the set is different and serves different purposes. Ive read a lot about the chipping and rusting complaints, have had the knives for 3 years and nothing has ever happened to them. However, the knives are made from fairly soft metal - meaning they do need to be honed… Read more
everytime you use them, otherwise they go blunt fairly quickly. And I do find the need to sharpen the chef knife with a 1000 grit whetstone every second month to maintain a razor sharp edge.
That being said, the block is a fantastic value each knife in the block serves its own purpose, unlike most producers who put similar knives in the same block and charge a premium. And those complaining about the knives being dull, even if you buy a top end knife ($150+/knife) you still need to give the knives a proper sharpening with a whetstone every 6-9 months anyway so you might as well learn.
They are ok – Ok knife set, but then again I am coming from a ten to fifteen dollar knife set from k-mart. Just really wished I knew how to use the honing steel. Show details
These knives are great!! – I bought these for myself just recently and they are fantastic!! Easy to use, easy to clean and store away nicely. I haven't had any issues with them. They are nice and light to use too. Show details
Not worth the money – These knives are not worth the money. I have knives that i had to have for catering college more than 30 years ago and they look awful but are still in very good working condition. I thought that i would buy new knives simply because mine look so dreadful, i bought baccarat and wish that i had not. I rarely use them and have to constantly sharpen… Read more
them. In fact i bought ceramic knives from K Mart around three months ago that cost $5 each and they work amazingly well.My advice, K Mart, ceramic knives, $5 each, can't go wrong.
Still waiting – I contacted Baccarat Feb 20th, 2018 regarding issues with 3 knives. They replied they would send replacements. Seemed promising. Despite another email and a phone call from me to their Customer Service Representative, it's now 4th May 2018..... I am still waiting....... Show details
The knives are wonderful – I purchased my Baccarat Sabre Knife block 14 piece set in January 2018 and thrilled with the knives. However not happy about the scissors included which I used to cut an oven bag and the scissors broke in half. So now I have a beautiful knife block set with a hole in the middle where the scissors should be Show details

Top knives. Brilliant design – I have been waiting for Baccarat knives for a very long time, and when I saw them at 75% off, I thought - why not?? And I'm so very pleased that I did. They are absolutely fantastic knives. I did my research first so I knew which ones I wanted to buy. I will never look back now. I absolutely adore them!! Show details
Don't hate it but don't love it – We were gifted this from family when we got engaged but had heard that Baccarat was a great brand so we were really excited. We used the set for about a year and all of the handles started to crack, some bits fell off. Robin's Kitchen replaced them and said it was likely from putting them in the dishwasher so a hen we got our new set home, we… Read more
decided we wouldn't put them in the dishwasher to avoid damaging them. Not once have they gone in the dishwasher but, once again, the handles have cracked - they've been that way a few years now. Other than that, we do like the knives and we use them all the time.
Chefs knife snapped tip – The Chef knife snapped the tip when cutting pumpkin. Must of had a fault in the metal. I have used it on pumpkin plenty of times. Its a shame because i use it all the time and had to buy another one. Show details
On "special" or not, don't buy – Like most reviewers we bought these knives expecting them to be a good quality product. DON'T! As most say they do lose their sharpness very quickly, as in we sharpen them almost every other time we have to use one and they get rust spots all the time (I only hand wash them). Don't waste your money... Show details
Disappointing – I bought a set of knives for $199, reduced from$399. Within weeks the blades became chipped. We went back to the original store and as we didn't have our receipt, we could not get a refund. That's ok - we should have kept the receipt. That was over 2 years ago. In a cookware shop I remarked to my husband to avoid buying a Baccarat coffee… Read more
percolater as in our experience, the metal was not good quality. The shop assistant overheard and asked us to bring the knives in as Baccarat were proud of their product etc, etc, etc. We did as asked with no expectation. We were then informed that we could have four knives replaced as a good will gesture but we had definitely caused the damage ourselves. To be honest, I am outraged. We asked for nothing and Baccarat basically made us feel like liars. No more Baccarat products for my little family! Ever!
June 25th 2017 Update: Really poor quality knives.
We bought Baccarat knives and within months, the blades chipped. Baccarat replaced them out of "good will" as they said that we had been "hacking" at something. It was a bit insulting as we absolutely had not. One month later, the new knives are chipping and we have been EXTREMELY careful with how we handle them and store them (sharp side up in the knife block). These knives are of dreadful quality and as a result of the cheap resources they use, they are not safe. I cannot recommend them and would not buy anything made by Baccarat again.
Waste of money – Knives rusting first week.Brought for the steak knives. Not worth $129.Was trying to buy quality but maybe should have gone to Kmart. If i could find my docket.Would ask for Refund not a replacement Set Show details
25 year warranty is a crock – I bought these knives about 8 years ago. They're blunt so i sharpen them. They don't get sharp again and yes i use the recommended sharpeners. I went to get warranty and getting the runaround. Never again Show details
Perfect – Good quality knives that look great. Very useful and smart. I use the baccarat cuisine pro knife sharpener rather than the supplied sharpener so I don't have to think about the right angle for sharpening. All the knives work well. If you want a selection of good knives that look great, I reccomend this block. Show details
Baccarat knife block – I am so pleased with my knife set, i got it on special, they are amazing slice through things with ease and look great o the bench. Love the brand.
