On 14/8/26 my BankVic Account was compromised - 2 x transactions for $340 was scammed out of my bank account by AI Company - Anthropic Claude. I have no idea why this happened. I’ve never ever subscribed to this Company. And when you look up the Company there have been major scams and many scams by them across the World. Anthropic Claude operate… Read more
out of QLD as a private company. How can these disgraceful Companies be allowed to operate in Australia or anywhere. BankVic asked me to contact the company who stole my funds. WTH? I don’t even know who this company is and where to contact them. And why should I be the one that contacts the company. I never ever engaged with this company in the first place. BankVic should be doing the follow up. My money in their bank should be safe. I have put in a dispute with BankVic re the money stolen from me. I have also reluctantly emailed Anthropic Claude and have received no reply or outcome. In the meantime I have to wait for my money and that’s if I get it back. Absolutely appalling by BankVic. I’m feeling very let down and furious. I have been with BankVic for 22 years and never had this experience. Very poor customer service as far as I’m concerned. It has left a very bad taste in my mouth. Our money is not safe in Banks.
Recently got a homeloan through BankVic. Have to say one of the worst processes to get a homeloan. Nothing was simple. The forms repeated themselves. Not utilising new technology available to make ease of upload. They only provide details to the "primary" account holder which meant my partner got communications that I didn't. When signing the… Read more
"primary" account holder has to sign first, which doesn't allow for both parties to review and make a decision together. They wanted ridiculous details about things at my house that did not concern the bank loan. They asked for proof of building permit for a house that is atleast 20 years old. The person we dealt with made mistakes, and I had to correct them. Only stuck it out for the lower interest rate. It was bad experience.
Been a member for 19 years. Moved house and this was one of the few places I forgot to update my address. Received an SMS and email advising that mail had been returned. I logged into the app and went to update my address, but that screen is uneditable. A staff member has deleted my old address and replaced with with "NEW ADDRESS REQUIRED". So I… Read more
called and spoke to Steven. He asked me my phone password. It's been years since I called, so I can't remember the password. He said I would have to fill out a form, sign it and send it back for my phone password to be reissued.... apparently he cant use my address as a point of ID because they have deleted it!!! I suggested he use something else like my old address, or regular debits and he said he can't, the only option is for me to fill out a form. I dont own a printer .... So now this account will sit without my address being updated because the address screen on the up is uneditable and my address is the only way they can ID me. Absolutely ridiculous.

BankVic I’ve been a member for over 18 years and this time I’ve had enough of your pathetic service – Once again I’m locked out of my account after hours and there’s no one to contact. When I’m paying my bills on Monday all at once it locks me out now I’ve got no access to my money! I then contacted the Facebook page via messaged outlining my situation the customer service team opened my first few messages then ignored me. I’ve got no money on… Read more

Pretty Good In My Opinion – Whilst their online service can do with some improvements, overall I feel it is a better service then many others. I have been a member for many years and have no intention of changing. Show reply
Excellent service for home loan review – As a long-standing customer of BankVic, I asked for the interest rate on my home loan to be reviewed. The team member came back to me promptly with a great rate. Happy customer Show details · 1
Excellent Service from BankVic – I have been with BankVic for 37 years. I do all of my banking with them and I have had a couple or mortgages and various loans over the years. During that time, I loved their service, professionalism and caring. I recently had an issue where I felt quite let down by BankVic. Now, this could turn into a rant, but instead I documented what my… Read more
issue was, how I felt and forwarded this to the senior management of BankVic. I did this before I posted to review sites as I wanted to give them the opportunity to respond.
I have to say that I have been blown away by the excellent service that has gone beyond anything I have ever experienced with a Bank. I had a senior person (who was on holidays) responding to me within minutes of me sending them my issues. Not only that there was a timeline for their response and a real human understanding of my issue. I was dealt with better than I have ever been over the previously 37 years with BankVic.
I went from being angry and upset with BankVic to understanding why I had the issue to being full of praise for the handling of the resolution. It wasn’t just resolved satisfactorily; it was resolved magnificently. I had really underestimated BankVic, their service was exceptional. I know that we all have different experiences, but over the years I have been treated well. Over the past couple of days, I have been treated fantastically and exceptionally by BankVic staff at all levels.
I could not rate them higher. To everyone posting, I had similar issues to some of you. I recommend talking/email them with your concerns. I now know that the current BankVic Board do listen to members and their concerns and will try to resolve the issues. I know that I am sounding like a fanboy, but I have been absolutely blown away with the response to my issue, the resolution process and the outcome! Thank you BankVic.

I have been a member of Bank Vic for years. However the online system needs to be looked into . The numeracy and alphabet should clearly state which is capital letters and the numbers , this must be made very clear to customers . An example n looks like an h . Try again later too many log ins . Not good if this does not improve I may take my banking business else where.
Basically the app is really poorly designed it is light years away compared to any other banks I have used. Wanted to try and get a qantas Visa card can’t apply through app. Must use website that isn’t suitable for smart phones or tablets. There is no pre filling for members. To navigate to choose an online product is painful. To find… Read more
information for the card is is not easily available. Once you find it you again have to navigate an online form that isn’t intuitive or up to 2026 standards in relation to design and ease of use. You get about half way through then it crashes and you need to start again. I have a home loan through BankVic and almost gave up after 6 crashes fortunately the back office was able to retrieve applicants and merge into one. I then emailed remaining forms to them so they could complete application. I literally wasted hours of my life. It doesn’t matter what web browser you use it crashes. Today I attempted to apply for the visa and after two crashes I have given up. It is a shame as it had no fees which would have given free travel insurance. I did phone BankVic basically the support was to send me a link to the loan site and told to try a different browser. BankVic will not assist over the phone and now has closed branches after 25 years I am done. Will be changing banks. I have given numerous feedbacks about the inability to purchase products and they are aware of the problems with application process but will not spend the money to get a professional modern website. It is a shame but I am beyond frustrated with this incredibly poor IT platform. If you live near a branch or work at The VPC than it would be worth it as you would be assisted within the branch. Sadly if you’re remote it’s basically pointless in attempting to purchase a banking product.
I have held accounts with Bank Vic for a very long time and never been spoken to so rudely. The person on the phone snapped back at me when I asked a question. Very poor indeed. Not happy

said to call Bank Vic on Monday to organise a replacement. So for the weekend we are without access to our funds. On Monday Bank Vic customer service advises us that a new card will be received in 4 business days and they cannot issue a digital card until then. So we cannot access our funds until we receive the card and our direct debits are getting declined. It's been so frustrating. We submitted the form to dispute the fraudulent transactions and brought this up with the customer service agent who advised us to "hold off" and contact the company that the transactions were made through because otherwise "Bank Vic will have to investigate." What do you mean!? That's your job. Unbelievably horrible customer service, no help at all and we are we still without access to the funds. Do not recommend.

Have been a Bankvic member for over 11 years as well as a Victoria Police member. rate, despite having perfect credit history, no liabilities, high income and always more than a 30% deposit. Even a basic refinance from another bank has never been successful. Everything from the application stage onwards is very slow and doesn’t move unless you call them 30 times a week asking what the hold up is given excuses that make it sound like there’s only one human being at the company who processes all loan applications and assesses them with their left foot. Then there’s always some sort of silly stupid excuse where they make it sound like you’re a real burden on them and that you’re unlikely to be able to get a home loan through them, despite having no issues whatsoever securing multiple home loans smoothly with other banks. Their processes and bureaucracy is next level. A basic application for a credit card can take 2 months despite providing them with everything via their online application forms. A colleague and friend recently managed to get his mortgage across to Bankvic refinancing with them from a big bank. The process took 4 months from start to finish, with the hold up being with Bankvic. I know of 6 colleagues who have all gone through the same issues I’ve faced over the 11 years with Bankvic. I only know of a single person who has managed to get a home loan through them and it was a simple mortgage refinance.

If I could give BankVic ZERO stars I would. They are have lost their way so badly. If you are considering opening an account, look at the reviews, they can't all be wrong. funds ahead of a long weekend (NSW) only to find my account has been LOCKED for reasons unknown. I can't check my balance online, I can't transfer money between accounts, and I have to wait until 0800 Monday when Customer Service reopens! Outstanding, what do I do in the meantime? Pay with things with air since I cant transfer between accounts??? You don't even offer the ability to get a balance over the phone or transfer between accounts like you use too. Because I was st*pid enough to have you as my main bank, I am now effectively stranded this weekend.
This is the last straw. Come Monday, consider this client of 31 years gone as I will be closing all my accounts and refinancing home loans.
After being a member for the last eight years, I decided to reapply and increase my credit card limit from $5,000 to $7,000. I submitted my application in June and did not hear anything until the end of August. After sending a few follow-up emails, I received a call today regarding the outcome of my application. As a police member with VicPol at the time, I bought into the desire to support the organisation in a meaningful manner, and while at the Academy for initial training, I signed up with Bank Vic. and suddenly we were invisible. No communication and no explanation. We then decided on forgetting the whole idea of supporting BankVic. Cancelling our membership was our next hurdle and since that time phone calls have not been helpful at all. Regular account statements keep arriving, each for less than 50 cents credit. It seems that I now have to pay more than that on public transport to prove to the bank that I'm real and want "out". Sadly, it's a loss for this organisation which is supposedly supporting the VicPol community.

My partner and I reached out through a referral from a friend to get finance organised for a home loan. (we had to submit the same documents twice and we were asked multiple times for documents she already had from us). There was no care factor or attention to detail. What’s worse she said she would have everything submitted before going on annual leave. To our surprise nothing was done (this is after 1.5 months). We then get allocated another staff member who was extremely condescending and dismissive of us. We went with a broker and had our pre approval secured within 48 hours with a competitive rate (with a different bank)! Don’t waste your time dealing with an incompetent bank who clearly aren’t interested in new business! Also, consider giving your team training in customer service!

Bank Vic delayed our settlement – Our house was to settle two days ago and it hasn’t bc of the teller inserting the incorrect account number from our savings account. The money has then not transferred into the account of settlement. We will be penalised as we are still waiting on the money to appear in the account , apparently the bank can’t use SWIFT . The bank will be approached for compensation , we are bitterly disappointed.
No customer focus – I am coming off a fantastic fixed rate with my home load. Bad timing for us. Of course I don’t want to go to the effort and time it takes to apply else where so I did my homework. Found a better 2 year fixed rate with ANZ, I called BankVic- “we will pass this on to the home loan team”- no response. I emailed the evidence to the main site… Read more

Credit card eligibility is pathetic – Don't bother applying for their Qantas Visa Credit Card if you are an association member. won't help me get my money back as it's over 120 days since it happened as I hadn't checked in. Then to make matters worse, when I realised, I tried to talk to them and they couldn't verify me as I hadn't used the account and couldn't remember my verbakl password I made 4 years ago. Worst bank I've ever delat with in my life, they just shift the blame to VISA. I have now removed all the money from the account and do't plan to ever go near them again. I wish I read all the other reviews before I opened a saving acocunt with them.
Major privacy breech – I have been with BankVic/Police Co-Op for over 20 years. They recently sent my violent, abusive ex-husband a confidential letter (even though we’ve been split for over ten years) with my details including my address. They could have gotten me killed. When I called them they said they would get someone to call me back which of course they did not.
Backwards – The most backwards and least customer focused bank that I have ever been with. They claim that I no longer even have any money with them, but they will not let me close the account. become completely uncompetitive. Furthermore, they have removed the travel insurance benefit from the Gold credit card. It's also concerning how security-conscious they have become, to the point where they consistently reject both outgoing and incoming payments. This necessitates calling their customer service, and even then, they assert that they are doing so to protect me. However, they don't consider that a bank exists primarily to assume certain risks on behalf of its customers. This excessive caution leads to a situation where they reject almost everything, resulting in a waste of both their customers' time and the time of my customers trying to transact with me.
Perhaps I should have realised this earlier, when they sent out their annual calendar with an extra day.
I want to support local business and local employment but have decided that I can no longer do my banking with BankVic. The deterioration in their services and their overly cautious approach have convinced me that it's time to seek better alternatives for my banking needs and there is currently no shortage.
