Really frustrating experience. I exchanged my item for a different size and when that didn’t fit, Bardot refused any further exchange or even store credit. Their policy might be “legal” but it’s definitely not customer-friendly. And the return process? Completely old-fashioned — having to email support just to start a return is ridiculous. fee to receive. The items were needed for a time-sensitive event. The order did not arrive within the promised two-day window, rendering the purchase unusable for its intended purpose.
After delivery, I contacted Bardot USA to request a return label, a refund of the expedited shipping fee, and a full refund for both items due to the failure to provide the paid express service. I did receive a response; however, my request was partially denied. I was informed that one item (the Castian blouse) was considered a sale item and therefore ineligible for return unless I selected another sale item of equal price and availability *before* a return label would be issued.
I followed up again via email and then by phone. During the phone call, I spoke with **Melanie**, reiterated my request, and explained that this was not a discretionary return but a request based on Bardot’s failure to deliver a paid expedited shipping service within the guaranteed timeframe. I asked that my complaint be escalated. Melanie informed me that escalation was not yet available and that a response would take 24–48 hours.
Shortly after the call, Melanie sent a follow-up email that included excerpts of Bardot’s policies, with several sections highlighted in yellow to reinforce the company’s position regarding sale items and shipping terms. What was notably absent, however, was any acknowledgment that Bardot reserves the right to withhold a return label unless a customer agrees to exchange for another sale item—effectively requiring an additional purchase before resolving a service failure.
This experience highlights several concerns:
* Expedited shipping guarantees were not honored, yet accountability for that failure was deflected * Return policies were applied rigidly despite the delay being outside the customer’s control * Communication focused on defending policy language rather than resolving a service breakdown * The burden of resolution was placed entirely on the customer
As a result of this experience, I will not purchase from Bardot directly again, nor through third-party retailers such as Nordstroms carrying the brand. When a company prioritizes policy enforcement over reasonable resolution—especially after failing to deliver a paid service—it undermines customer trust.
Bardot could significantly improve the customer experience by:
* Automatically refunding expedited shipping when guaranteed timelines are missed * Allowing reasonable exceptions to sale-item policies when service failures occur * Empowering representatives to resolve issues rather than simply restating policy language
I encourage prospective buyers to review similar experiences before purchasing, particularly if timing, accountability, and customer support matter.

The next day I hadn’t gotten any sort of update which I found only a little odd, so I went to the website and tried to find my order, I got an error message stating that my order “doesn’t exist”, but when I created a whole account and logged in, it clearly showed how much I’d spent with them, yet still no order history to be found anywhere, at all. Ok… VERY ODD. Then, I tried to call customer service in hopes of getting a quicker answer than emailing them, a lovely(/s) lady answered like I’d called her personal cell phone in the middle of the night, I honestly thought I got the wrong number and had to ask “is this Bardot Clothing?”, huge red flag - I was then told to write an email about my order because she “can’t help with orders over the phone” I’m sorry…what??? Why do you have a customer service phone number if customers can’t get customer service? I work in customer service so at that point my mind was just blown lol. So I wrote my little email to customer service, and that was the one and only time I got ANY sort of reply from this company, if you want to call it that - they basically copied/pasted their “processing time policy” which in case you (like me) didn’t go digging thru their FAQ for it, states that their processing time can be up to 10 days. Sisters, this means that the “expedited 2 or 3 day shipping” that customers are paying like $20 for, doesn’t actually start counting until they decide to physically send your package. When I finally got an email that my item had shipped, I opened it to find that on their end, my order status shows “delivered”. However, when I opened the UPS tracking link, it stated they didn’t even have possession of the package yet, and it stayed on that “label created” status for literally 8 more days. I sent a couple more emails through out this time, I kept checking for my order status on the site which to this day still apparently doesn’t exist. So then I opened a case with PayPal, because I truly thought I’d just gotten scammed and LO AND BEHOLD! UPS finally miraculously gains possession of the package with an expected delivery date of 10 whole days AFTER receiving the “shipping confirmation/package has been delivered” email. Now, will I be able to return it once it eventually arrives, since I couldn’t wear it to elope? NOPE! Not unless I’m willing to eat yet another shipping/mystery “processing fee” that they won’t disclose the amount of. I am so beyond disappointed and annoyed, their lack of transparency is completely misleading for customers, I feel lied to and scammed out of shipping/fees, and their customer service is completely non existent. I will be continuing to fight for my money back out of principle at this point because it’s super upsetting and my brand of adhd is a strong sense of justice, so here we are. In summary: only use this company if you don’t have any sort of timeline for your event and have plenty of time to wait, and for gods sake don’t pay extra for shipping because it simply won’t happen, and you better hope you don’t need customer service ever, at all.

BEWARE: Horrible Experience – Bardot sells defective merchandise and if you buy on sale your stuck with it. They will not even allow an exchange for the same item that would be with defect. The item was a child size and didn’t match the sizing guidelines on their own website. Unreasonable waist of money and bad business. Bloody fraud!!! – Placed a large order consisting of 11 product. Cost about $600, never got delivered. Ups marked as dropped at front door, that’s a lie. Filed a claim through ups and tried to reach the brand. But the Bardot doesn’t take any responsibility. Won’t refund or look into the lost package. This brand is a joke/fraud and so is their customer service. Stay away from it and save your money.

No refunds, just credits until it expires quickly so you pay for nothing – Make sure you use your own credits within their narrow time frame. Even if it's a couple of weeks past they're not flexible or reasonable. They will happily take your money with nothing in return.

Terrible Quality Fabric - Even Worse Returns Policy – Do not shop here - the quality of fabric is absolutely appalling. The returns policy is also extremely disappointing. Incorrect order received – I highly recommend reading reviews prior to purchasing online. Ordered an item and received different one. Was given same response others have and essentially called a liar. Have taken this to Consumer Affairs and lodged a cyber scam report. It is not even about the item as it was not pricey, but the disgusting customer service and also the time and stress wasted.
Received half of my order – I ordered 7 items and only received 4, $263.97 worth of stuff missing and have been told it was scanned at the warehouse in the same package. Paid for three items only received two ! – I purchased and paid for 3 items , they only sent two . They are saying they scanned 3 items out of their warehouse , essentially calling me a liar . I have written to them today and am hoping they’ll do the right thing …..or …… I’ll be contacting PayPal , PayPal know my purchasing history . I have never had to dispute a sale till now .

when it came to their return policy in my specific case. It honestly was a gray area, and I feel Bardot could have and should have allowed a return in my case, not the least of which would be to create goodwill with a longstanding customer. But alas, it was not to be.
Retailers need to know that unhappy customers have memories like ELEPHANTS. And in this day and age, we expect simple returns (yes RETURNS--Bardot no longer allows them on sale items) and exchanges to be available for online shopping--because we all know how unpredictable sizing can be, even from the same brand.
Speaking of sizing, Bardot sizes are VERY small. Frankly, the brand could be a little more inclusive of a variety of sizes. Women look for inclusivity in brands nowadays. (Victoria's Secret didn't come across as very inclusive and look at how badly they are doing...!)
My advice to Bardot management is, go to a mall and look around. Is everyone small??! Why would you want to cut your potential customer base in half by only catering to the "Slenderellas"? Maybe a brand can't be everything to everyone, but could Bardot at least offer *a handful* of styles in an extended size range? As is, it's no surprise Bardot's profits are down. Not all of us want to have to be on a strict diet in order to wear a cute skirt or pair of jeans (I understand that many of Bardot's customers are younger but some of us are not...and small or not we still have wallets! In fact, I'd hazard a guess that some of your stylish older, larger customers *could* be some of your biggest spenders if you would be a little more accommodating in your sizing and your return policy.)
I have added one star because Bardot really does carry cool styles now and again. In fact, Bardot used to be my go-to. But on principle (due to their customer service policies such as "no returns on sale items" and lack of size inclusivity) I am no longer a customer.

unfortunately the fabric over the lining was really thin (cheap) so even when I put the dress on the creasing and fold marks didn't smooth out like most quality fabrics do. I contacted the Customer Service Manager and requested to return the dress for a refund but she said that they don't refund Final Sale items. I looked into their Refund Policy on their website and it actually says they are unable to refund or exchange Final Sale items for a 'change of mind' (including sizing, fit, colour or styling) but it doesn't say anything about not refunding items for QUALITY OR DAMAGE iSSUES. I pointed this out to the Customer Service Manager but she still refused to offer me a refund because the material specifications are on the website - so it basically it is my fault that I bought a dress from Bardot that was made of poor quality fabric and is creased. I'm so shocked with the response and I know everyone is struggling with the impact of Covid but a little goodwill goes a long way for brands competing in the online space. Oh well, I hope denying a small refund was worth losing a long-term customer and any future sales or positive reviews.
all the sale items are not refundable – there is no store in NSW the colours are not true to photos they don't refund sale items which are still quite expensive and they don't have a shop in NSW so when they size is not right or the style does not suit you, not their problem live with it. will never buy again. if you purchase basic items you might not have an issue but other styles they don't fir true to size like sleeves are too tight. requires the buyer to apply for a return code and then return the items (at own cost) with detailed paperwork and within two weeks. In my experience, they do not respond in such a timely fashion. It is many weeks later and I am still pursuing refunds for items returned. I will not purchase from them again.

It is a Scam – Bardot is not what is used to be. After closing its physical stores they decided to reappropriate customers credit note money. They simply rendered the credit notes invalid despite them being well within use by date. Then refused to give any money back, stating credit notes cannot be used online. Stay away. It is scam

customer, this didnt bother me too much (the legality and ethics behind this did..) I purchased a pair of jeans and still had $27 remaining. I said I didnt find anything at that time, and asked if I could just use the credit note another day, which was fine. I went in today to find out, I had to spend at least $54 dollars, (double!!) to validate their $27 credit note. I am not only mad that $27 is gone down the drain, I'm annoyed at the principal behind this and other customers going through the same thing.
