initial review was done on 3/6/26 on the date I received my product. To provide an update, I received an initial email from the customer service on the same day however the response just made me feel dismissed & similarly to the response here, just felt defensive. Was very much once it leaves our warehouse, not our responsibility. The one star review is not related to the bed itself but the impression of the brand especially the customer service, for a luxury brand. As a buyer, a negative review does not sway me away from buying the product but it's how the company respond to the complaint/feedback. I honestly did not expect any further attention given to this matter as the initial email was clear that as long as the bed itself was fine, which it was, that Barney Bed wasn't responsible for the delivery service or courier outcome. But I have received today (21/6/26) an email from Barney Bed with an apology and actually expressing genuine regret of the experience that I had & offered a free bed cover as well. Ironically, just 24 hours prior to this second email, I actually bought a second cuddler but due to my negative experience with BB initially, I decided to go with an alternative comparable brand. But I wanted to transparent for any reviewers considering BB to make an informed decision

their product pages and the FAQs, you'll find countless contradictions about what their product actually is and how it's meant to perform. The more you dive into their website and the endless [Content Removed] they've scratched up about themselves, the more frustrated you'll get. Especially if you go deep diving AFTER purchasing.

The only reason I bought it was because they offered a size small enough to fit inside my dog's crate and my partner convinced me it would be "a lifetime purchase" and "better than buying her something from Bunnings." We were so wrong. Having this bed side-by-side to our other Dog Friendly Co bed (or in comparison to any of the various dog beds we've had over the years), I'm wondering what on Earth I got for my $474? I'm certainly not new to dog beds but, [Name Removed] seems to be.

To start off, you can't buy the bed with the particular cover/colour you want. You have to buy the cover in addition to buying the complete bed system. When it first arrived, their original 'Bonded Microfibre, 3x thicker than other dog bed' literally disintegrated before my eyes in about 30 seconds after giving my dog a peanut butter treat to entice her to use the bed. She dropped it and her licking the surface of the bed, burnt a hole in it in literal seconds - photo attached.

So I got the alternative cover out to swap them over immediately. Then I find out I have to pull apart and reconstruct the entire bed in order to put the 'cover' on. And the worst part - when I pulled the bed apart, I find out their 'luxury Orthopaedic' secret is cheap polyurethane foam. Literally the same stuff you get in Kmart beds. Are you joking?? No visible layers or support system, they couldn't even splurge on an egg crate. Just a cheap, nasty, flat, foam slab. They are actually delusional.

The bed arrived on the 30th of July. The foam is still yet to expand despite me leaving the bed out untouched for several weeks. An issue several of their customers have that they refuse to address or correct - more photos attached. I took a handheld steamer to the foam at one point in an attempt to get it to expand, still hasn't budged. Their website claims I shouldn't even have to take the cover off in order for it to return to its original size and should fully expand within 7 days. And what are their covers made of? 100% polyester. Real high-quality stuff. No wonder my dog wouldn't lie on it unless I was bribing her with treats.

I've seen some of their other responses to reviews that question the quality of the product. They claim that the foam brick is 'intentionally like that to prevent sag and support weight' which is complete baloney.. Their competitors are offering 10yr no sag guarantees on actual supportive layered systems so they're just cheaping out to maximise profit. The more you read about the founder, the more this claim is confirmed. Another Sydney princess thinking she can drop-ship Alibaba products for an exorbitant price. I had a belly laugh at their FAQs desperately trying to convince everyone their beds made in China are 'definitely not a cheap product or drop-shipped.’ Pretty sure nobody would ask that unless they had a reason to. I don't know who you think you're convincing?

Rest assured, I've communicated all of the above issues directly to them. In their response, they just wanted to argue with me about the quality of the product and essentially told me 'I received exactly what I paid for - definitely a high quality product, don't even worry about it.' You're so right guys, my experience is definitely what I would call high quality. Didn't realise my $474 dog bed would come with all this extra labour and frustration. Is that complimentary or will I find that listed somewhere on my invoice? Can I opt for the low effort option next time and save myself some money?

Admittedly, they have offered me a refund... "Because we wouldn't want you to be stuck with a purchase you're unhappy with, provided the bed hasn't been used." DING, DING, DING!! Yes, because my dog laid on the bed for 5 minutes prior to me changing the cover and then cracking the sads and throwing it into the garage to collect dust, I am now in fact stuck with a purchase I am unhappy with. Because little miss entitlement expects everyone to drive over to bloody Paddington to try before you buy, otherwise just get what you get and don't get upset, right??

More and more people in this country are behaving like her with this 'landlord mentality' like they have a right to scam people out of their money to fund their exorbitant lifestyles, never work another day in their lives and take zero accountability. It is absolutely disgusting, un-Australian and I will be going to social media next. Absolutely sick to death of being tricked into supporting businesses like this.

This woman and her company are an absolute scam and she is in breach of Australian Consumer Guarantees and Protections: When you buy goods, they must work properly. They should do what they are supposed to do and match the description. If a product or service is faulty, broken or not as described, you may have the right to a refund, repair or replacement. Given all the other people I've seen with similar issues, I'm sure you can guess I wasn't confident opting for 'replacement'. They have ignored my request for a refund so I guess they're happy to cover the cost of an ACCC probe?

BUY LITERALLY ANYTHING BUT A BARNEY BED. YOU WILL PROBABLY GET SOMETHING PRICED ACCORDINGLY AND WON’T LOSE ANY SLEEP OVER IT.

My girls (a Westie and a Cairn) have had the original Barney Beds since early 2022. They love them, and the covers wash well and look great. I also purchased the Barney Bed Blankets; they are so soft and warm. I love the support these beds give to their joints. I highly recommend them. Show reply

Extremely satisfied – I purchased 2 Large Barney Beds and covers for my Standard Poodle bros. They are undoubtedly the best fur baby beds I have ever got them (They are now 7 years old and we have been through many other beds during this time). Show reply

(dacron filling) but she cant do that with this firm memory foam type bed. I also find the bed much heavier than I imagined and Ive only got the medium one. I have to lift and bang the sand, leaves and twigs out that come inside in my dogs fur (she's just a rubbish magnet type coat) and its a bit heavy for that. My daughter's dog came for a few days stay with his bed similar to her old bed, well of course she went straight for that bed while it was at mine. Says it all. The new bed looks much nicer than old bed, I'll give it that, but so it should, it cost a small fortune (and I got it on Black Friday sale as well). I certainly hope it outlives the dog, only time will tell on that one. Im probably being generous with 4 stars. (If my dog could talk)

Finally a bed that’s beautiful as well as comfortable! – I finally pulled the trigger and bought 2 large Barney Beds, 1 Teddy Cover, 4 Butter covers, 2 cooling Covers, and 2 waterproof liner kits and am in love with everything!!!! I am so glad I stuck with the large size for it’s a bit bigger than my previous bed and two of my Labradors can fit in it when they curl up if they lay flat out only one will fit. The cover are made very well and I finally have beds that are not eye sores!!! The Teddy Covers are BEAUTIFUL! I will be having a wardrobe for my Barney Beds lol! Poppy LOVED her bed (large size was plenty big enough for her). Since then we introduced a miniature dachshund into our family and he loves it to. They often sleep together happily in it or play in it- heaps of space for both big and small dog together. Don’t hesitate, these incredibly soft yet firm foam beds are divine and I’m certain will last the length of time for my doggos. Super easy to wash too. Best investment.

The only bed my Frenchie has not destroyed. 3 years strong – This bed is the bees knees! I've had it for 3 years now. It's the only bed my Frenchie has not destroyed which his scratching. comes out brand new every time. My kids also jump in with him because its so comfy and I dont need to worry about them being in a grotty bed because its easy to always keep clean.

Quality product that will last a lifetime – With 2 older dogs who prefer to sleep either a) in the rain *facepalm, or b) on cold hardwood floors - and with a plethora of copycat dupes out there, we had to try the original Barney Bed. This bed is so comfortable for him, and with arthritis as well as a reconstructed knee I know we’re doing the absolute best for him in his senior years. It keeps its shape and doesn’t sag under the weight of a 40kg Samoyed - something I’m very mindful of with his joint issues!

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Barney Bed to any paw parents out there who only want the best for their best friend. Thank you for making a bed that’s quality-made.

It is my fault for not paying closer attention to the dimensions and measuring our floor. However, the measurements are right next to (and the same size as) the dog breed sizing. I think I just trusted the company would know what they were talking about and didn't look at the numbers. I've never seen a dog bed so big and didn't know such a thing existed.

The customer service rep claims they sent a size check email (I did not receive this, maybe it went to spam?) and basically shamed me for not measuring. "We are happy to help with general recommendations based on your breed's average size. However, we always suggest measuring out the space of the bed on your floor so you can get a good idea of how it will fit in your space and with your dog. Ultimately, it is up to the customer to decide."

These beds are super expensive. I'd expect a lot better customer service at this price point - nicer email, offering to help me find a better-fitting bed at a discount, that kind of thing. Just something trying to help me out rather than shut me down.

As an example, I ordered a big bag of new food from a well-known internet pet retailer that start with Chew. It make my dog's stomach upset, so I sent them an email asking for some help. They wrote right back, sending a coupon for the amount of the food. They also suggested I donate the existing bag to my local shelter. Super friendly, customer-oriented, and trying to help me, not the stone wall that I got from Barney.

waterproof cover is an added protection for the actual bed itself. It is an investment piece and it's aesthetically pleasing with all the covers that they offer. All the covers are machine washable and it helps with the doggie smell and keeps the house smelling fresh. I highly recommend this product.

The Barney Bed is worth every cent spent – My Labrador is only 3 and already has Osteoarthritis. Two surgeries in and the Barney bed has been nothing but a lifesaver for him. If he gets hot we pop on our cooling cover. The interchangeable covers make bed changing days a breeze and the bed is so beautifully curated it fits right in with all of my decor. because not only is is beautiful in my home, it is practical.

My chiweenie has the size small which is perfect, but her Bull Arab Bestie and her love to cuddle in it and I have no idea how they both fit in there!!

I could not be happier with my purchase and recommend my Barney Bed to everyone! Do not opt for a cheaper copy cat, you will understand pretty quick why it's cheaper, so don't waste your time and money!
