We brought these work steel capped boots we had them 3 years and only wore them less than a 10 times the rest they sat in the garage the last time we wore them the soles all collapsed the material had perished Bata said no warranty and that they did not like moisture or humidity well they need to change the material the soles are made from. They… Read more
are not fit for purpose and at around $200 a pair I would expect them to last 20 years unless worn out with constant use Recommend you don’t buy these cheaply made boots ( in Chiba of course)
I was working on the farm and these boots say that they "can protect" your feet but tell me why a nail went straight threw it with eas when they said they protect again multiple hazards. so if you work in a trade i would not recommend their boot unless you want a tetanus shot in your arm
Had a problem with a Bata work boot. Mentioned this to Bata head office customer service and had the problem sorted very quickly and efficiently. Impressive. Show details
Follow-up · The sole of the boot deteriorated really badly. They very politely explained that all boots with this sort of sole do this, especially if you don’t wear them often. Best solution is to wear them regularly. They handled it very professionally and after I explained that this was the eighth pair of Batas that I’ve had, replaced it under goodwill even… Read more
Bata Gumboots have dropped in quality, badly. I used to get 2 years of leak proof use out of them but now, the last 2 pair, have only made it to the 1 year mark. The price of them has risen significantly as well for a product that has decreased in quality. Blundstone boots used to be the best quality with one pair of mine lasting more than 5… Read more
years! All my gumboots have been worn daily for light industrial nursery work. Why Oh Why do they always have to ruin a product and then even charge significantly more for it. It's a bloody crying shame especially in a world where environment concerns are paramount.
Bata - NOT the name for quality! – Please note my opinions and experience may differ from yours. I purchased these Bata safety boots in about June of this year from a very reputable workwear business as I needed a pair for my work. I was told they were quite comfortable, which I certainly don't doubt this however, the issue here is quality of these boots and how they've held up. … Read more
These boots right out of the box are cheap which explains the price, which is my first issue here. I work for a laser cutting factory and so I wear these boots everyday driving around forklifts, grinding, running an oxy/plasma cutter and I have been there for about 5 months which is roughly the time I have had these boots for.
For the most part, they have held up okay but there's definitely some issues with the quality and material. One thing I've found is the really cheap and nasty Velcro straps used as they regularly get undone and cause my boots to unzip while I'm working. Another issue I've found is the lack of grip these boots have compared to another pair I've used. They work, but they simply feel more like sneakers rather then work boots gripping on stuff. The sole also seems to be made from something a bit on the cheaper end too. In addition as well, they aren't very water resistant and if they get damp they need to be dried out otherwise they'll stinky and damp–something my other boots don't have an issue with.
They are also supposedly made these boots to AU/NZ standards too but I'd be unable to confirm weither they'd hold up or not.
Good for 5 minutes, not good for trade use – Good for about 5 minutes, they rip and fall appart around the toes very quickly have had to replace 3 pairs in 9 months. Comfortable interior but poor quality Show details
Size 8 has always been fine; these are crushing my feet – Bata Industries Meteor Safety Boots. Size 8. These boots must be designed for people with flat feet, because that's what I will have if I keep wearing these terribly design and sized shoes. They crush you arches. Only buy if you have duck feet. *Or buy a size up? Show details
PU Soles disintegrated – Wore a pair recently, the upper is “ “full grain leather” and is fine but the “pu” soles disintegrated. Dropping pieces or rubber everywhere, as I walked. The shoes where fantastic but the longevity is Bad..I’ve only used the 8-12 times for special occasions. They where extremely comfortable. Show details
Industrial Safety Boots – My hubby's new shiny pair of black/red Industrials arrived today, early afternoon. A super fast delivery from Vic/SA, considering all the current floods in NSW and QLD! They are well made and fit perfectly❗ A wonderful surprise was the fact that they are made out of 50% recycled rubber! Great for our environment! Thank you Bata for doing your bit for our planet and our environment! A very happy customer. Show details
waste of time and money buying bata boots, dont buy, no refund no exchange on faulty items. Made in china – buy at your own risk, no refund no exchange policy on faulty boots, complete crap. already falling apart. Made in china Show details
Soles disintegrate even without use – Bought 2 dozen pairs Bata elastic sided boots for a school garden project. After limited use the soles peeled off the upper. For boots not even used, still in the box, any flex would split the sole and they would crumble. Hydrolysis of PU soles is a standard problem but the speed with which these unused shoes disintegrated indicates extremely low quality. Other brands in same conditions doing fine. Show details
Worst boots – Soles fell off after 4 days of work... Complete joke. Australian customer service told me to contact the European branch as they were made in europe. The boots were bought in Australia. Worst boots and customer service. stay away!!!! Show details
Comfortable Safety – The BATA INDUSTRIALS site I went to was easy to Navigate , I just clicked and purchased them and they were delivered within days. I purchased "Fury" joggers for Security work around the shopping malls and they work fine. I've also walked over grass and muddy ground with no problem! I recommend "Fury" joggers for all round walking and running just… Read more

The helix horizon boots are great – The generosity of Totally Workwear Warrnambool and Bata Industrial Footwear for the donation of a number of work boots should be greatly appreciated by the community. They supported the local bushfire fundraiser at the Lady Bay hotel and introduced us to an excellent product. The HELIX Horizon style Bata Boot were found to be extremely… Read more
comfortable. When a man puts the boots back on before driving home you know his immediate reaction to their comfort is a very positive one. When he continues to wear them daily it signifies an on going endorsement of the comfort of them and the pleasure they are bringing to the wearer. There is a dressiness about them that makes then extremely versatile. Within days the protective Scotch Guard treatment was tested by a little ‘Charge’s’ upset stomach and proved to be 100% effective. They still look as good as new and are worn daily for a range of functions and activities. Thank you, Totally Workwear Warrnambool for excellent service in choosing the correct fit and style.
Bata Gum boots are Rubbish – had a few of these Bata Gum Boots in my Waders and they just keep splitting they are rubbish for the price you pay... will not put Bata gum boots in my waders again Show details
Very helpful and well priced for great quality – Store was well laid out, they carefully fitted my children’s feet for shoes. Yvonne and the lovely ladies from Saturday were very helpful. I had to take back some shoes that had a minor fault and they couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Have been a customer for years.
Bata Zippy Work Boots – Needed a new pair of steel cap work boots that weren't too over the top in price. Found a pair of Bata Zippy's on special at a local hardware store. Online reviews were a bit variable and listed as a basic work boot, but they were comfortable, with a nice wide fitting too and were well priced. Took a punt on these and 6 weeks down the track… Read more
and wearing most days couldn't be happier, super comfortable and no problems. Must say Bata wasn't a brand that was on my work boot list when I started looking - my only previous Bata experience was with school shoes - but now they are certainly up there especially given the value for money .... half the price of the big brands.
Fell to pieces – I bought a pair of "Meteor" industrial boots. after about 4 months the soles just disintegrated. I didn't keep the register docket so no chance of returning them.Very poor.
Soles Separating from Shoe – Have been buying work boots for 30 years +. Most often Blundstone but recently Bata Industrials. These are comfortable and look good trouble is the sole separates within a few weeks of wearing the boots. I have spoken to 2 other persons who have resorted to trying to glue the soles back on without success. I'll be returning these to the store where I purchased them. They are without doubt the poorest wearing boot I have ever owned.
Bata Meteor Steel Cap Boots – I don't read reviews for shoes as they are so personal, you just have to try them on. I also have arthritis in my hands and feet and needed to try them on in store to see if I could get them on and off. I found my local Bunnings had a good selection of work boots I needed for the gardening to protect my feet. After figuring out the confusing… Read more
sizing (mens/womens/AU/UK/USA/EUR) I tried on Rossi, DeWalt and a few others that were all $90 plus. I couldn't get any of them on without a struggle and none were comfortable. I was about to give up when I saw a few pairs of Bata Meteor Steel Cap Boots on the top shelf, tried a 7 and then went down to a 6. PERFECT. Easy on an off with no strain on the hands and feet. Comfortable to walk in, and the steel cap was not noticeable. And they were only $54. I couldn't believe my luck! I've been wearing them in the garden for a week and they are comfortable and great to work in and my feet feel fine at the end of the day - no pain or rubbing. I'm not a tradie and won't be wearing these 50+ hours a week, but for my simple needs I can absolutely recommend these boots.
8 months – Bought a pair with the retractable metal laces. Great to start with then i noticed the tread was coming off a little. 5 months in had to avoid puddles from all the holes in the tread. Couldnt bend down as the sides of the soles are split. Just a terrible shoe. Bata guy at our local safety shop said tjat there was nothing he could do.
Bata "Scout" childs school shoe – This is the shoe you may consider if your child has to wear black dress shoes to school. Don't even think about it. Some dope thought it was a good idea to put a plastic compass concealed in the heel. Therefore, there is a rock hard lump under the heel of your child's (developing) foot that simply can't be good. Then, predictably the compass… Read more
smashes causing a bunch of plastic fragments that could impale their foot. There is only a few millimetres of poor padding above the compass, so yeah it is no protection
The sole wears out in less than half a year of school only wearing.
Worst of all, email complaints to Bata go unanswered. Then, when you email again, they ask "what was it you wanted?" clearly having not read the first email. Then as soon as they realise it is a complaint they clam up again.
The legal requirement to provide a product fit for purpose - laughable with this mob. Their requirement to prove a refund - not a chance. I would not buy their shoes for $10 let alone $50.

Sinking Soles – The soles of this shoe compressed to half its size after wearing it for around 15-20 times. This never happened to any shoe that I bought till date. I am 70 kegs and this shoe has mocked me.
Consistently falls apart within a month – Stupidly, I have purchased Bata shoes twice now. A few years ago I purchased the 'Anchor' style of women's shoe. These shoes fell apart within a month, with the elastic holding the Mary Jane strap snapping. Luckily, I had purchased these from their online store, so they gave excellent customer service and sent me a new pair, even though it was… Read more

Unfortunately this year I made the error of purchasing a pair of 'Grasp' shoes from the Shoe Shed. All but one piece of the right hand tread fell off within two months, the initial piece after two weeks of wear, making them unsafe for most areas of my workplace. Frustrated, I emailed Bata, and received sluggish responses, some often ignored for weeks, taking a month in total for them to conclude that there was nothing they could do as I had thrown out my receipt from the Shoe Shed, which is what people typically do after a two week period who don't want to suffocate from receipt hoarding.
To conclude, my experience is that you will have a 100% chance of your Bata shoes falling apart, and only a 50% chance of Bata giving good customer service.
NON EXISTENT CUSTOMER RELATIONS – Despite assurances that my complaint would be passed to the appropriate persons, with follow-up emails to them, NO response has been received from this company. Very poor customer relations department results in non-purchase of their products in future
Bata Meteor Steel Capped Boots – Both soles have split catastrophically well before any substantial wear has taken effect. Disappointed that such a brand as Bata could fall so low. This is the type of failure I have seen in Chinese manufactured casual footwear, but not expected in work boots. These are sold at Bunnings - never again for me. The rubber soles are not up to work boot standard.
Good Value – Worn work boots since 16, brought the Bata boot based on price didn't want an expensive outlay. From the off they were the most comfortable boot I've ever worn without having to break in for weeks. They've been excellent, only gripe is how the sole is breaking down and after talking to mates it's the same on most makes of boot, it's the tropical climate, breaks rubbers and plastics down over time. Now I'm off to get another pair!
poor quality – Bought a pair of Bata meteor work boots not one but both shoes split in the exact same spot on the sole of the shoe . shoes are less than 8 months old what a joke poor quality i barley walk in them as i am on a forklift all day - the box the shoes came in says premium quality safety shoes that's a joke .
Acceptable - Patriots – I'm hard on my boots and I've used 2 pairs of these so far. Each pair lasted me max 9 months. These boots get an "OK" but only just. Some of the negatives: - steel cap rather than composite (conducts the cold in winter) - initially felt very heavy but got used to them - lasted 9 months - eyelets are metal and the shoelaces break after a… Read more
while
- once the boot starts to wear heavily they don't last much longer
- 2nd pair although the same size as the 1st were slightly looser fitting
Some of the positives:
- they last 8 months
- the soles are quite durable
- the soles provide very good grip on a variety of surfaces
- they are comfortable
- absolutely NO foot / calf / achilles pain when wearing these boots 10 hours a day 5 - 6 days per week
- price, well under $100 if you shop around
- spare pair of laces (guess Bata know their eylets tear them)
- extra cushioning under the ball of your big toe
- comes with a stubby holder
I'm hard on my boots and whilst not thrilled I'm satisfied with the 9 - 10 months considering their cost and performance on the job. They are also very grippy compared to the previous brand I used.
When I first wore these boots I found them to be very heavy as the previous boots I used were much lighter, but once I got used to them they were fine.
I was disappointed with the slight difference in fit when I had 2 pairs of exactly the same size but a cheap pair of inner soles solved this problem.
I've experienced absolutely NO pain or discomfort with these boots and specifically NO achilles pain.
Would I buy again....yes.
Best shoes for waiters and bar staff – Comfortable from the moment they went on, plenty of room for my wide feet, non slip, practical good looking shoe for the guys (female range available), I bought lace ups to ensure a snug fit and no heal lifting. I have tried Blundstones Saftey, used to good now they separate from the sole, Blue Steel, the fabric lining around the heal… Read more
disintegrates and you end up with the stitching underneath giving you blisters, I have loved Doc's for work, they last for ever, but now find them to heavy and take to long to wear in. Bought Bata Professional Collection Traction from Carrum Downs Factory outlet, on line purchase $95, I paid $80 at the outlet. Top Score, feet feel great a the end of a long shift.
January 5th 2019 Update: No longevity
Very soft leather made for a comfortable shoe initially but within 6 months there was no support. Heel was so soft the shoe felt like it was slipping off. After 9 months I threw the shoes out. This shoe was not suited to a busy hospitality environment for the long term. Although I previously reviewed the shoes as a best shoes for bar and wait staff, I retract it all. Although initially practical, they are not stylish, oh well they were less than $100.
These shoes are not steel cap, are not heavy, and still going strong after 8 months. I am also hard… Read more (+1 reply)

Bata eventually contacted me and presented me with not one, but TWO pairs of boots following my complaint so now I'm eating crow.
