Bella Barnetts discriminates and is rude/dismissive when confronted about it – I just want to let any colored female creators or creators who do not fit the beauty standard know that Bella Barnet will give you no pay and fewer benefits in working with them but will pay their white creators who fit the beauty standard even if their stats and profile are smaller. They will reach out saying they will pay you in the future but… Read more

this is just to get a couple of posts insinuating you need to prove yourself even if your stats and profile already do prove your worth. If you look at their page most of the creators they work with fit a certain beauty standard. They approached me to do a gifted collaboration for two pieces of clothing valued under $150 and I needed to do two infeed posts while approaching white creators I personally know offering them 300 USD and outfits at any value. When querying why this was the case, they mentioned my engagement rate has to be over 3.5% to be considered for paid partnerships, and mentioned that their software tool shows my statistics are only 1.95%. I sent them several softwares links available online and screenshots of insights showing that my engagement rate on IG was between 5 - 8% and my Tik Tok average interactions were 2.8k in the last 30 days when I have 40k followers. I also backed up my email with female stats percentage, the percentage of countries they are available in and my media kit included recent brand and media coverage. The people who got paid and extra perks had smaller profiles and stats. Despite giving proof and evidence and comparing stats they would not budge or address the situation. I also asked them what software are they using and requested that I would like consideration to be paid otherwise I'd like to cancel the collaboration if I'm being undercut compared to my white counterparts. And in return, they sent two lines back saying 'Thanks for talking a lot, we cannot pay and kindly return the items.' Looks like they are 100% undercutting colored creators and when confronted ignore the requests, the communication from their account manager Tina was very dismissive and rude as well telling me she's too busy and thinking that they discriminate is their personal opinion. As a consumer, I have purchased a dress from here before but now that I know how they treat colored creatives I definitely won't be purchasing from them again.

Stores have closed, no suit and taken our money!! – My fiance ordered a custom suit for our wedding and we have just found that all the stores have closed!! Tried to call but they have multiple phone numbers and all are disconnected. Emails bounce back and their website doesn't work either! We're trying to get our bank to refund us. This is a horrible experience in the lead up to our wedding.

Poor quality workmanship – Bought two suits from B&B. Firstly, the (paid) alterations on the four pairs of pants were not completed on two of them, meaning I had to again pay for them to be altered. (This was for leg length and waist being brought in). After only four months of wearing I have noticed the stitching on the back side of one of the pairs is now separating… Read more

substantially and that the stitching on the inside leg near the knee of another pair has completely opened up by about 1cm. The material around the hook and eye assembly on the waist on one of the pairs has also ripped just from moderate usage. And while the material feels quite nice to touch, I am unconvinced of its quality and durability as I have noticed the material around the elbows is starting to get a slight sheen more likely to be seen on a suit that has about 200 wears rather than a mere 30.

Perfect Fit – John McCoy at Bell and Barnett in Launceston is amazing. Knows his product..passionate about his work. Garments are of top quality and fit to perfection… first suit my husband has had that fitted and looked amazing…wouldn’t buy off the rack again when it costs no more for quality and fit. I honestly can’t recommend John highly enough. Show details

Great Service at Chapel St – After having a concerning suit fitting elsewhere, Catherine at the Chapel Street store put all our concerns to rest. She showed a fantastic eye for details (enough length of shirt to tuck in, a long enough arm pit) that we never even thought of. She reassured us we would be able to purchase a suit in the same color material close to the wedding… Read more

Wouldn't buy a suit from here if it was the last suit shop in Australia – Went for a suit fitting a few months back at Bell and Barnett Highpoint for a wedding as I was in the grooms party. Trying a suit on was a struggle from the get go with a few attempts at Costa trying to find my size and telling me I wasn't that size every time I told him I was a certain size, we finally found a fit I was semi happy with and we… Read more

went on our way. Returning in a few months to pick the suits up. The suit that I had been given was far from what I tried on at the initial fitting. The pant size was wrong and the jacket wasn't even the same style I had tried. When questioning Costa the sales assistant about this he pretty much said... too bad, we don't have the style you tried on. He was happy to change the pant size to the correct fit but brushed off any questions and concerns I had about the jacket and why I had been given a jacket that I did NOT order. Being that the wedding was in a week I had no option but to take what he had given me and be on my way with not even as much as an apology. I will be sure to never buy another suit from him or even step inside Bell and Barnett again! Costa is purely just a salesman and once the sale has been made he no longer cares or wants to know anything about it. If you are looking for a suit for a wedding or any other occasion I would recommend staying far far away from this store, you can find a lot nicer suits elsewhere and get much better customer service.

Terrible Experience – We started the process of getting custom made suits a few months ago for our wedding. We got 5 suits - 4 for the bridal party and 1 for my Dad. We were with one guy who started the order, who shortly left and handed us to another girl. She did the measurements for everyone. We paid our deposit and we were happy with the price, only to find out… Read more

that this didn't include a fitted shirt and us having to pay extra, which we did. Then we were told that all the tailors were being made redundant and we would have to go into a shop - where there are no qualified tailors. We also asked for only the Groom to have black glass buttons and all the boys ended up with them. Then during the first fitting - nothing fit any of them. Half of the boys couldn't even get their pants or jackets on as they were far too small. 3 fittings later, ready to pick everything up and my Dad's suit was black instead of navy. During his first fitting it was the correct colour, during the second it was the black and he confirmed whether this was just sizing as it was the wrong colour and they said yes. Come to the final fitting and sure enough it was black. They said it was our fault as nothing was said in the fitting before and with 4 weeks out to the wedding they said there is nothing that they can do, leaving us with the wrong suit. We understand mistakes happen but this was a terrible experience from the beginning and no one has taken responsibility or even tried to resolve the issue. We are now stuck with a suit that we didn't request.

Shopping for a suit? Seriously avoid these guys – To any person even considering Bell and Barnett, here’s some free advice; DON’T!!!!!!! My recent experience with them has shown they are not tailors but flashy sales people who promise perfect suits and deliver lemons. My wife and I knew we wanted custom suits that were made in Australia. We first met Bell and Barnett at a Sydney Wedding expo.… Read more

There were a Melbourne based company with access to showrooms in Sydney and Melbourne which suited us as we had Groomsmen across both states. In addition their prices seemed reasonable, we liked the colour scheme and they were made from 100% Australian Marino Wool. So it seemed like a no-brainer. Following this we did an initial appointment in the Sydney showroom which the salesperson didn’t close the sale properly, months later we followed up finding out our original sales person was MIA this resulted in a second appointment for measurements and payment; he also left the company. My wife managed to get a hold of head office and worked with Mafe from the Marketing department to get this sorted out. Following this two out of the three groomsman suits were couriered to Sydney and arrived four weeks prior to our big day; this is when we discovered my husband’s vest was not ordered even though measurements were taken. In addition to this the suits didn’t fit at all and required tailoring. Mafe was excellent in dealing with this issue including: placing an expediated vest order, working with us to find a local tailor and ensuring we weren’t out of pocket. In saying that the vest arrived two weeks before the wedding and didn’t fit also requiring tailoring. Further to this our Melbourne groomsman who is of larger proportions on what was meant to be his final fitting 4 weeks out found his pants were too small around the calve. When queried the salesperson insulted him under his breath calling him too fat. Once escalated they finally agreed to re-make the pants; following this it took 2 more attempts with the last pair being picked up the day before the wedding. I finally thought we were on track and the suit was exactly what I wanted. Upon wearing....it was not even close. The button for the jacket came loose within hours of wearing it and my pants somehow got a hole in them less than 24 hours after wearing them. So not only is the quality far less than acceptable, the customer service is poor and stress associated with this has been unprecedented. I would absolutely not recommend Bell and Barnett under any circumstances.

Terrible and not worth the stress – Disaster and disappointing, especially for our wedding having been fed empty promises the whole way Bell and Barnett have made our wedding experience terrible. Avoid at all costs especially if it’s for your big day as a tailored suit should be an enjoyable experience. Show details

I absolutely LOVED the service I received at Frankston B & B! – On Monday June 10th, I entered the Bell & Barnett, not knowing what to expect, but hoping for the best. The BEST IS WHAT I got! If there ever was a “gentleman’s gentleman, I’d say Reggi takes the cake, and that Bell & Barnett is lucky to have him! I’d definitely shop there again, and plan to as soon as possible! Thank you Reggi! A.C.

BEST service – After going to several stores with big inventories, I was mostly snubbed with my particular requirements. told the service assistant that the 2 main colours and styles weren't what I was looking for he began to reflect on his stock. George put together something I was looking for just by listening to my needs and understanding what stock would suit my body type. I purchased everything he suggested and was completely comfortable in his suggestions with alterations. Being in the retail service industry for many years I have found it difficult to deal with below par service but my expectations were met easily by George. After all was done I then asked the price as this was not even a factor due to his knowledgeable experience and service.

Save yourself the drama and go elsewhere! – We have been waiting 10 weeks for our tailor made suits! This is an absolute joke!!!! No communication from anyone st their highpoint store unless we contact them first and every time we call we just get told they will be here “tomorrow” or “next week” .. I am beyond frustrated. We ordered early to avoid having suits so close to the wedding. I wouldn’t recommend this service to anyone!

Horrible Customer Service – I got my suit and while that fitted well and looks great, it was not without it's problems via the sales consultant. now he's in Sydney for something else!

Then I had to get a couple of items on back order but was never contacted about when they came in. I only found out they were in a week after they had arrived, only because I called HIM and asked where are they?

On top of that, there were re-schedules, no answering of calls. I would either get "call you back in 15" or something similar and in most cases I never hear back from the guy. I even got ignored once because the guy was recovering from his bucks night... 3 days after the event! Very professional...

Then came delivery of the suit because after all the mucking about I was no longer able to pick it up from their shop. I was told it would be delivered in the afternoon and when I got home from work it hadn't arrived yet. I then get a call from my house mate at 6:30pm that it had arrived. I guess when I called him, when he told me "stuck in traffic" about 20 minutes away what he really meant to say was he forgot and is now just leaving to drop my suit off.

Absolute incompetence from the staff and I will never recommend them to anyone in the future because of it.

Poor quality suits – I bought two suits from B&B. Within six - seven months they started to bubble and delaminate. I took one back to B&B and managed to get a replacement and didn't bother with the second. The manager did tell me that this was normal in suits. No it's not. I also bought 5 shirts. The shirts we decent, the suits are made cheaply and I would not purchase a suit there again unless they came with a clearly worded guarantee.

Best value with best fabrications – I have bought suits from Peter Jackson, MJ Bale and other well known brands the past years and the Bell and Barnett suits are superior as they use the best fabrics available in the market. You would pay much more for this quality with the other brands. Great cuts and styles. This is the only brand I will buy from now on.

I'm a fan – Been wearing Bell and Barnett for a few years. Currently have about 10 shirts and I have two suits. One suit is worn almost daily (I have a Blaq suit that I wear when my B&B is being dry cleaned) and one is my suit for special events. Both are wearing very well. suits). I'm normally a 34 jean but a 38 in BB stuff. I've been to their Docklands store and Southern Cross store and found their staff in both stores to be beyond expectations. Extremely helpful and friendly. I paid $119 for each suit and $19 for the shirts during a massive sale they had a few years ago. I would pay three times that without issue. I've also bought a casual sports jacket, some chinos and some casual shirts and love wearing them. I really like B&B stuff. I've also got some MJ Bale, TW Lewin and Charles Tyrwhit shirts. The CT shirts are the nicest but there's nothing between the MJ, TW and B&B shirts.

Pic attached is of two B&B suits (pants of my daily and my special event suit - suit at rear is a Fletcher Jones suit which I don't like - the purple shirt is not B&B) and about 5 B&B shirts, as well as a couple of non-B&B shirts. I have 6 at the dry cleaners currently and a couple more in a closet.

Good quality for the price – I bought a Bell & Barnett suit a few months ago and was very pleased with the purchase.
