Bellamy's Organic Step 2 Follow-on Formula

Due to having a low supply we've been using Bellamy's Organic for 10.5 months now. I did previously use it with another child also. I love that it's Australian made, very disappointed that the Bellamy's sold to a Chinese company as Australian Owned is just as important as Australian Made but I digress. The new formulation for Stage 2 now contains… Read more
Sunflower and Canola Oil due to this we will no longer continue using this brand. The formula is $3 cheaper and now comes at 800g instead of 900g.
Awful – Since we changed to Bellamy, my bub started getting gassy, had a sore tummy and vomiting daily. It also caused rashes here and there. He is usually good with any formula but this. Show details
Gave my baby full body rash, fever and upset tummy – Put my 8 month old on the follow on formula and he broke out with a horrible rash, fever and diarrhoea. Put him back on his old formula and he is back to normal and fine after a few days. Only made the change because his current formula is only really available online and can be difficult to get. I even had to take my baby into hospital because… Read more
he was just so off.
I wish I came on here and saw how many bad reactions this formula has caused, the package is so misleading of being quite natural and good for your baby. This has been the worst week ever

Baby liked it until it was out of stock! Time to switch brand – My son is almost 8 months old. He drank Bellamy's stage 1(NEW formulation) as a supplement for the first 6 months. He seemed to like the taste and had no issue with it. He was a premmie (32 weeks) and the formula had done a good job. When he turned 6 months, we switched to stage 2(NEW formulation). He was happy with the change, took it straight… Read more
away like it's stage 1, no tummy upset or anything.
2 weeks later, the NEW formula was no longer avilable in the shops. Coles, Woolworths, Chemists warehouse, all out. So I ordered online. I had never seen the OLD formula in Coles, Woolworths or Chemist warehouse so I was expecting to get the NEW formulation buying direct from the manufacturer, just like in the shops.
Instead, we got 3 tins of OLD stage 2 formula(manufactured in May 2018) My baby absolutely hated the OLD formula, he was fussy and constipated. I was going to send them back but I already opened the tin and thought I would try it for a couple of days. After two days of him not taking the formula, I had to rush out and buy another brand formula. He took the other formula straight away.
The NEW Stage 2 has been out of stock for 2 months. And the OLD formulation is lacking DHA, ARA and GOS. To me, the OLD formulation is a far inferior formula. I don't understand why Australians are forced to take the OLD stock. Actually, I do.
We have no choice but to switch to another brand.

Shortage in all stores last couple months – There had been a shortage and mostly no stock in all stores and supermarkets the last couple months. Out of desperation I placed an order on the Bellamys website. It has been more than a week and the product has still not arrived. I phoned and emailed and was told that order was complete through Australia Post. I sent a follow up email and now they tell me there was a delay due to high volume. See attached image. We've tried a lot of them, and this one is the favourite - too bad it's not easy to get – I mix-fed from day one, then continued with exclusive formula feeding after 7 months of my baby's life. We had to try various brands because she stopped liking each one's taste after a while. In the end, we settled on this one alternating with A2. I like them both but this is my favourite because it dissolves very well in cold milk too. My baby… Read more · 2
will only have cold milk, so it's really helpful to not have to mess around with clumps of formula stuck in the bottle. I also find the 60ml scoop handy because I can prepare it in a 260ml Avent bottle - it fits well with the powder + 240ml of milk. With the A2 I can only fill it to 200, otherwise, if I do 250ml, the powder doesn't fit on top in the bottle. She's had no reactions whatsoever.
The reason I rated it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's hard to come by. National Pharmacies where I normally buy it from, has been out of stock for weeks. I know I can order from the website but because I'm a National Pharmacies member, it's a lot cheaper to buy from them.
Good product but bad supply - caused so much unneeded stress! – The product is good, bubs has never had an issue- however Iv had so many issues with supply- all the supermarkets and pharmacies are always out of stock- some hadn’t received a delivery in over 5 weeks so I took to ordering online- you can get a maximum of x3 at a time- 5-7 day delivery... i waited a week and a half before calling regarding my… Read more
last order... Bellamy’s had lost the order! If it was a pair of socks I would be understanding... but this is my baby’s food and with none available ANYWHERE in stores it has created a lot of stress- Iv gone onto another brand now - as a mum you are trying to juggle so much- worrying about where you can get formula should not be added to that! I think what’s more frustrating is this Australian company is clearly more concerned about getting into the overseas markets instead of focusing on supplying babies in Australia- it’s not ethical and I will no longer support this company - very irresponsible!
Excellent – Hello everyone. So, my son was breastfed until he was 12 months and never had any formula. At that point my supply began to decrease so I felt that we should begin supplementing with formula and gradually wean him from the breast. At first we tried various other formulas and he rejected them all. After a few weeks we got this upon the… Read more
recommendation from a friend of mine. At the first attempt, he rejected it... I then expressed a little breast milk onto the teat and he took to it but only drank 30mls. We persisted with this for a few days and after a week he was happily taking full bottles of it.
I prefer this formula to others as it has a similar consistency to breastmilk and dissolves quickly and very well. I tasted each formula I offered my son and this one would have to be closest to breastmilk. I also like the fact that every ingredient is listed on the tin and there doesn't appear to be hidden nasties in it.
Overall, this has been a great product to go to after breastfeeding for 12 months. Consistency, no hidden chemicals/nasties, organic, closest to breastmilk, dissolves well.

Stage 2 hard to dissolve – Hi, I found that stage 2 formula is hard to dissolve. I use the same temperature as stage 1, but for stage 2 it left quiet a lot of undissolved of milk powder Show details · 1
Best formula – I've used bellamys formula in the past with my first and now for my second child. I highly recommend this formula as I went through so many with my first "she was premmy" and found bellamys was the only one that didn't give bubs any problems. My second child was b/fed and now on the bottle full time with bellamys stage 2 and he is happy and… Read more · 1
healthy. I feel for those who have had problems with there children as my experience has been a 10/10 the downfall is the price but for Australian I won't complain.
Didn't cause my bub some tummy issues – I think I have a good share of good and fair experience with this formula. My baby has to transition to formula milk when she reached 8 months and this product didn't disappoint me. I noticed that her sleeping hours were longer and he is less fussy. Show details

Horrible formula – My 6 month old needs top ups along with breastfeeding and this formula caused horrible diarrhoea! I have tried other formulas before with no issues but wanted to change to organic. I definitely won't be using again. Show details

My baby end up in hospital after having the first bottle – Was giving my baby bellamys stage 1, after first bottle of stage 2 My baby had a severe vomiting episode, we rushed him to hospital , it was a nightmare. At first I didn’t realised it was the formula , but after 3-4 days I noticed he was refusing the milk and also a very weird chemical smell in his poo and urine . Stoped the formula stage 2… Read more

Horrible and pain experience – My baby not enjoying it. It has the worst tummy pain, vomitting, gasing and I can felt the bubly in her tummy. We just switch from Bellamy no 1 to this no 2. Only if there are more stocks in the market – I breastfeed for 9 months, occasionally formula. Luckily, bub had no problems from transition to formula (Bellamy). The brand was recommended by my husband's siblings and all the little cousins are drinking Bellamy. However, lately it's been very hard to get the stock in the market, not a single tin around our area. We ended up buying them on Bellamy's website. Show details · 1
Love it – My little one love this. We have tried so many formulas as she has had reflux and this one has been the best for her stomach. The moment we started feeding her this she slept better and was over all happier. Thankyou. Its easy to prepare and dissolves perfect. The price i think is worth the nutrients. Show details

I tried to contact their number but always busy and asked to leave message and I did. I also emails them but they never reply me back. The totally ignore me. I can’t believe this company act like this. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY before I report you for fraud.

Very windy and constipated – I have been slowly trying to wean my baby off the boob and onto formula but over the past few days of only giving a couple of bottles my baby has been so windy and constipated which is such a shame as I love the idea of bellamy’s! So we will be looking for anew formula for our transition from breast to formula. Show details

Made baby unwell and disappointing response to customer inquiries – Needing to wean six month old baby to formula due to difficulty breastfeeding. Saw on website that Bellamy’s suggest that the step 2 follow on formula may be most appropriate for this, however, given the milk proteins in step 1 seem to be more similar to breastmilk I contacted Bellamy’s using their online form. Was sent the exact information given… Read more
on the website, which not only did not answer my question, but I had indicated that I had already read. Decided to try the formula anyway - gave a bottle that was 75% breastmilk and 25% formula made up as directed. Unfortunately, bub began projectile vomiting after having just this small amount of formula. We had previously tried a small amount of the old bellamy’s formula, which she seemed to tolerate. Called the Bellamy’s phone number, as I am very keen for some insight as to whether there is a particular ingredient in the new formula that may cause this reaction and hoped their dieticians may be able to help. I haven’t had any response after leaving a message, so really uncertain what to do next in terms of trying a different formula. Disappointed as really wanted to be able to use Bellamy’s products.

Caused extreme diarrhea and vomiting – My 9 month old was thriving on the stage 1 (was marketed up to 12 months at that stage) but with rebrand, I swapped to stage 2 thinking that stage one was no longer appropriate formulation for my baby (marketed as 6-12 months). I bulk ordered after getting about 3/4 days into the tin, thinking all was well. From the 5th day and ongoingly, our bub… Read more
experienced severe vomiting and diarrhea for almost 3/4 days before we could pinpoint the actual cause as the formula. Poos were highly acid in smell. Be careful, bubs gut flora is extremely sensitive to this kind of change. We had to switch to another formula manufacturer that makes for 0-12 months. When I asked Bellamy’s for a refund/exchange on my unopened box of 3 tins of formula, I received nil response. We ended up in hospital due to the extent of illness. I’m sorry but I can’t advocate for stage two.

Terrible after change of ingredients – Have sworn by this formula previously but since the recent change of ingredients it has been horrible, my baby has become extremely fussy, in constant pain and has a severe burn on his bum from the acid poops, none of which we have experienced before. Will be switching formulas immediately. No longer recommend! Show details
It’s perfect love it – My daughter loves this formula. I started with -2 follow on .6 months plus.very easy from breastfeeding to formula.very simple measurement,1scoop in 60ml. Very reasonable qty to start with .very smooth .no bubbles and clumps.you don’t need to shake too much to mix. Worth spending money on it. Show details
Excellent formula - used when switching from breastfeeding to formula, baby loved it instantly – Only 4 start due to the price on this formula, although this is a local brand, as I live in TAS and we still paying around $30, same price as mainland for some reason, although i believe it would be a bit more expensive to get the formula across to the mainland. Other than that, I used Bellamy's when switching from breastfeeding to formula and… Read more
baby loved it, did not have any tummy issues and she enjoys the taste and she gulps the bottle down, we have already switched to step 3 and will still be using this formula.
HORRIBLE FORMULA CHANGE – They have now changed their look and also the formula which they have added ARA DHA and its more yellow my child was in pain for few days no sleep. The ARA etc upset his tummy as I always went for Bellamy’s because they never added that crap in their formula now that they have I will not be buying or recommending it ever! Oh not to mention the nice $30 price tag on it now! Show details

Great product, baby liked first time – We have been using this formula for 3 months now, I tried a bunch of brands which tasted terrible (I tried them as to see why she didn't like them) Bellamy's just tastes like milk. It has taken the stress out of going back to work. Being organic is wonderful too.
Little One didn't like it, switched to A2 instead – Recommended for infants 6 to 12 months. Contains organic cows milk, added iron, vitamins and minerals. One downside is no DHA, but that will change soon I hear. We were attracted to the all natural ingredients but in the end, it just wasn't right for our little one (unsettled and foul nappies). Switched to A2 instead.
The only organic formula I know of – I'm not into organics but my partner is, so this was his choice. We used it as a supplement for when my son wouldn't breast feed and I hadn't been able to pump enough. It's a good enough formula. Our son will drink it when he's hungry, otherwise he won't touch it (probably a good thing, avoids overfeeding). It doesn't smell very appetizing and… Read more
there are often lumps despite shaking it well. It's no easier or harder to prepare than any other formula. No tummy issues and no constipation.
However it is one of the more expensive formulas.
Good organic formula – A great formula, it agrees with my baby, I used step 1 also. I was told step 2 may cause constipation but it didn't, in fact it was quite the opposite but that could also be because of the food I give him. It is a little more inconvenient to make than other formulas as you need to make it at a higher temperature then cool it down which is annoying… Read more
when you have a hungry screaming baby. However you can pre make the bottles and store them in the fridge for 24 hours which is good. A bit more expensive and sometimes shelves are empty but usually if you ask the staff they have some at the back.
Not for my bub – Unfortunately Bellamy's stage 2 just didn't agree with my 9 month old. It caused him terrible tummy aches and constipation. But the reason is because being casein domant rather than whey, its a lot harder to digest for some babies. It mixes easy and tastes great. Bub enjoyed it despite the issues.

Didn't agree with bubs – The product was recommended from the lactating nurse as it was " Supporting Australia " and organic. After being on it for 3 nights bubs was cranky, windy and had a terrible tummy. We swapped to Novolac Colic and he was a new baby. I have had several friend try Bellamys and it didn't agree with their bubs either.
It's good, my baby like it very much – It's good, my baby like it very much. it's only option for him. I always buy it. it's better than other brand for my baby. I tried other brand, but my son doesn't like. it's organic. so I think it's good for baby. they have many baby food. good choice
Perfect for mixed feeding – I had to change to mixed feeding when bub was 9.5 months in anticipation of returning to full time work. We tried 2 other top formulas first with no luck. I even tried them myself and understood why, gross. Saw a recommendation on a mum's forum and tried it on my son and haven't looked back. He takes it no worries. First choice if you have to change to bottle or mixed feed for any reason.
Bubbly formula – My older son likes Karicare but this formula didn't work for my little daughter. So I tried to introduce another brands. She responded definitely no to S26 and NAN and is OK to Bellamy's organic formula. The taste is very good but it is very airy and also it is quite expensive comparing to others.
