Belling Mini Richmond Dual Fuel BR54DF Questions & Answers
VerifiedI renovated our kitchen in 2016 and bought a Belling 60cm Freestanding Induction cooktop FSE611S.I like using the stove and am very pleased with it when it is going well. The oven is very good. However, we have had persistent problems with reliability of the induction cooktop. We had to completely replace the induction top in about 2020 at a cost of over $1000, however problems with reliability have continued to the present. When it is working, its heat control is great. But frequently, it will give an error message with a clicking sound and stop working. I then have to turn it all off and the power, then resume and sometimes it works and sometimes not. It is now so frequent, we are looking at buying a new stove. I would like to buy a similar Belling 60cm Mini-Richmon Induction cooktop, however I do want to buy a stove that I can rely on working when I want it to. My questions are: Are you aware of problems around induction cooktop reliability in that model that I have been using? Have these reliability issues been improved upon in the later models? Do you have any advice/commentary to assist me in making a decision/reassure me of the reliability of the induction cooktop? Thank you.
Good morning Allan Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with your Belling FSE611S. We’re pleased to hear that you’ve enjoyed using the oven and appreciate your detailed feedback. We understand how frustrating reliability issues can be, particularly when the cooktop performs well at times. Please be assured that we are continually investing in research and development to improve the quality and reliability of our appliances. Since your model was manufactured, there have been ongoing advancements in induction technology, including improvements to control systems and component durability. These enhancements have been incorporated into our newer ranges, such as the Belling Mini Richmond, and are designed to deliver improved reliability and overall performance. We acknowledge that earlier generations of induction cooktops could be more sensitive to factors such as internal components, power supply conditions, and cookware compatibility, and these considerations have been addressed in later models. Thank you again for your honest feedback—it is invaluable in helping us continue to improve. You can view the range of Belling Ovens at your nearest Harvey Norman store. Kind regards Belling
Hi there, I am interested to know whether Belling has addressed all of the issues and bad reviews of the Mini Richmond (specifically the induction one) and what changes have been made. I love the look of this oven but would not want to buy one unless these issues have been resolved in later models. Thanks, Annie
Good morning, Annie. Thank you for your enquiry regarding the Belling Mini Richmond. We are continually improving and upgrading all our products. Our teams do extensive testing and reviewing so that the highest quality products are available. Our Belling upright ovens are backed by our 5-year warranty so you can purchase with confidence. Kind regards Belling
Does anyone have issue with the main oven switching itself off? I have just started baking sourdough bread which requires the oven being at the highest temperature for the first 20 minutes of cooking not including preheating. When I do this the oven shuts off completely (only the main oven the smaller grill oven turns on and works fine ). The only way I can manage to keep it working is to open the top oven door which is not ideal. I am so over this oven, I have previously mentioned the dripping to which belling said they would email me separately but I didn’t get an email. The globe has now also blown and I have only had it installed 12 months. Not to mention all the dials have lost their markings which happened within the first month and no I didn’t use abrasive or harsh cleaning agents. I so wish I didn’t buy it even though I love the look of it and it was what I designed my kitchen around. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Good morning Kerrie Thank you for reaching out. If you could please supply me with your email address so I can look into this for you and provide some assistance regarding these issues. Kind regards Belling
I have had my Belling mini for 5years now. The ovens have never switched themselves off. Perhaps having them on Max temp is overheating it and it is turning off as a safety feature. Maybe. My dial markings have not worn off. However my springs did come off the dials but hasn't affected its use. My Belling gets lots of hard work. May I kindly suggest getting a bread machine for your lovely bread and I hope your Belling keeps working for you long term as mine has.
Belling BR54 E AU IE. One of the oven telescopic sliders on one side does not slide. It seems to be jammed. Any ideas? Thanks mjcussen58@gmail.com
Good morning Michael Thank you for your enquiry. You can remove the telescopic runner to make sure there is no cooking debris interfering with the sliding action. The runners just clip off and on. What side is the runner that is causing the issue? Kind regards Belling
Thanks. I've soaked the runner, which is the top runner, attached to the right hand frame and tried to clean it as well as possible. No difference. I'll try to unclup the runners from the frame and have a closer look. Cheers.
Hi Michael Let me know how it goes please. If this doesn't work, can you please supply your email address. Kind regards Belling
Thanks, I managed to free up the telescopic runner. It must have just enough gunk in it to stop it. The 4 runners are 95% almost pristine with only one very minor overflow episode in their lives, but, that was enough to jam the one runner. mjcussen58@gmail.com. Cheers
Had my mini Belling for 5 years, use it alot, have never cleaned the telescopic runners and they work fine. My friend who has the larger model always had runners that got stuck, her handy hubby removed them permanently. The oven works fine without them. If you have continual issues consider just removing them.
Has anyone had issues with the oven racks and brackets?? We have never been able to slide them out easily and have constantly dropped things out of the oven. We have also had a lot of corrosion around the outside which when I contacted belling was told not their issue :(. Will never buy again but it was too expensive to replace sigh
Hi Annaatredrock, thank you for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear of this. I will reach out to you directly to get some additional details. Thanks
Had my mini Belling for 5 years in Australia but haven't had these issues. Hope you can get it sorted.
I have had my mini Richmond dual fuel ( electric ovens & gas cook top) for a couple of months now and I have the same issue with water dripping from the main oven when using which is so annoying . I am also finding food does not crisp up…ie roast potatoes. So far I’m a bit disappointed with the performance, even with the temperature up high I feel as though the cooking is slow. I was so excited to have this cooker in my renovated kitchen but now I feel like I’ve made an expensive mistake in choosing it? Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix?
Hi Kerrie, thank you for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear of this. I will reach out to your directly to get some additional details. Thanks
Kerrie I have had so many issues with my belling with corrosion and the racks wrote to belling and got no help wished I never bought it. Wasn’t cheap and is now a lemon
Hi, I am interested in buying the Belling mini Richmond - all electric version. I was wondering how people have found the performance of the induction cooktop and the main oven ? Is the oven suitable for baking desserts etc?
Hi Peter, I have had a mini Belling for 4 years now. Mine has a gas stove top but the 2 ovens below are electric. I love that I have a small (1 tray) oven and the lower oven will take 3 trays - great for making batches of cookies. Having the 2 ovens means you can do lots of baking using different temperatures. The top smaller convection oven cooks just as nicely as the larger fan forced lower oven. There is nothing I have not been able to cook in both ovens and I love to cook ! You can definitely bake deserts or anything in them. A great buy, a small stove that can cook alot of food. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Kind regards. Leanne (Australia)
Thanks Leanne - the two ovens is a great idea - it seems like great design it just seems like there are quite bad reviews. Though, sometimes you hear from the happy customers. The stove would fit well in my kitchen but I have seen a few friends buy the expensive retro stoves and to be "under-whelmed" with the performance. I guess, we won't be doing very technical baking. Thanks for your feedback. I will look into it further. cheers Pete
I meant to say you "don't " here from happy customers
Peter have had so many issues with my belling with corrosion and the racks wrote to belling and got no help wished I never bought it. Wasn’t cheap and is now a lemon do not buy one
I am considering buying a mini Richmond 600mm dual fuel oven, however have read a few reviews that the oven leaks and people have to put a towel or paper towel under the oven door to catch water and drippings. Has this problem been sorted yet? I see a “New” sticker on the show room floor one
I have had one of these ovens for 4 years... never leaked on me.
Ok thank you
I’ve been using my Belling Richmond mini for two months and am having the exact problem you describe, with water pooling on the floor below oven opening, and water dripping from the door when it’s open. I contacted Belling and was told a repair person would be sent out. However a few days later the repair company rang to tell me that Belling had cancelled the repair visit when they learnt we lived in the Upper Blue Mountains (extra transport cost apparently). Belling sent an email telling me how I should use the oven. However I’m already doing everything they suggested. I’m exhausted by the process of trying to get a satisfactory response from Belling. It’s been a really disappointing process.
Hi Kabu, I'm sorry to hear of this. I will reach out to you directly to get some additional information. Thanks

Can you please tell me when this oven was in production?
Hi Anna, thank you for your question. This model was in production from the early 2000's right up to a few years ago. Thanks
Is it possible to buy a mini richmond with an induction top in a colour other than black or white?
Thank you for your question. Currently they are the only colours available. You may be able to update your door skins in a different colour, if available as a separate part. Thanks
I got mine from Harvey Norman 4 years ago, the stove top is black and the 2 doors are a lovely bone/ light mustard neutral color. Hope you find one that's not only black or white. For a small size you can cook ALOT as the grill doubles as a small oven.
Thanks. I'm after an induction top, and the new model of those only seems to come in black or white, at least in Australia
Do u like it? I hear water and grease leak from the oven door and people have to put towels down to catch it
I would like to buy a red or white mini Richmond 54cm stove. Are there any left in Australia please?
Hi Robyn, Thank you for your question, please see the below link as they are available again: external link Thanks

I’m interested in the mini Richmond with the side opening oven door. Do I have to specify that with my order as it appears some also have drop down oven door? Thanks, stuart
Hi Stuart,
Yes, please speak to the store of purchase just to make sure you get the right oven, enjoy your new belling :)
1 year on, loving my mini Richmond. Being able to use the grill as a small oven is super handy. Easy to clean. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have.
