Rang belong on the 29/05/26 asking why at times I couldn’t receive calls or at times I couldn’t ring out . Otherwise I had to reset my network settings and it would work for a short time, the guy I spoke to was offshore and from India. We recently fell victim to a devastating SIM swap scam on my wife’s account, and the entire experience exposed Belong as an online-only provider that is completely… Read more

unequipped—and unwilling—to protect its customers. The systemic failures we experienced include: No time for reaction & Zero Guardrails: Belong processed a highly sensitive SIM swap request with alarming speed. My wife received a text message while driving warning that changes were being made to her account, but the SMS merely directed her to call their helpline. By the time she arrived and read the message, then managed to get through the atrocious waiting times of their call centre, her number was already transferred to another phone and her connection was completely disconnected. It took less than an hour from the initial alert for her to lose all service, leaving her entirely exposed stripped of any ability to mitigate the fraud. Only the fact i arrived home early helped us use my phone to contact the bank to freeze all bank cards only after the criminals managed to spend over 1000 dollars. Imagine you're sleeping or if you're a single person without a second working phone - you'd be done and would lose everything by the time you manage to do anything. Remember Belong has no storefront. Only way to contact them is using in internet or phone which they disconnect you from without your knowledge. The Illusion of security: Belong actually argues that verifying a full name and date of birth constitutes a "layer of protection." In an era of social media and rampant data breaches, at least a few hundred people in the world can access that information about you. For a digital-only company with no physical storefronts where a customer can present photo ID in person, their refusal to implement more comprehensive multi-factor authentication or a secure, customised account codeword is negligent. Enabler to identity theft: yes my id was stolen but with good security in place this alone should not be enough to access and take away my phone. Belong sent a confirmation email to an unverified email address provided by the scammers that was never approved by my wife. belongs poorly trained operator saw a random email and decided it would do. The very next day, the scammers attempted a second SIM swap. Belong has flatly refused to confirm what documentation or IDs were used in that second attempt, hiding behind a wall of secrecy. Stonewalling and tero transparency: In the aftermath, Belong has actively protected the criminals over their own customer. They have refused to share transcripts of the chats they had with the fraudsters. They have shown zero initiative to strengthen the security of my wife’s new account, leaving us to feel completely unsafe. Corporate Impotence: We lodged a formal complaint, which is now sitting with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO). Even during the internal escalation, Belong's complaints team demonstrated total impotence. They did absolutely nothing real to rectify the situation, choosing instead to regurgitate a rigid script about how "secure and compliant" they are. The Bottom Line: Our personal example proves that Belong is fundamentally insecure. A digital company needs higher security guardrails than a traditional retailer, not fewer. There must be an instant, 1-minute digital kill-switch link where a customer can input their password and immediately freeze unauthorized changes. Instead, Belong relies on archaic verification, zero-latency processing for criminals, and a broken support system for victims. This security failure cost us a significant amount of lost money and immeasurable stress. They are still doing the absolute bare minimum, show zero care for their clients, and refuse to acknowledge their failures. Do not trust them with your mobile number.

looking for other options. As the NBN is not available in my area because of Telstra's ownership of the infrastructure, my only option was to use home internet through the mobile networks. I tried Vodafone mobile which was a disaster from the start. Read my other review on them. I also tried an Optus MVNO (3rd party Optus network provider) but was unsuccessful with that due to that provider forcing its customers to use their own modem locked into that particular provider. I live 150m from a tower which houses all 3 mobile network's cell towers. Lastly I tried Belong. I hadn't heard of Belong until doing a good search to find an alternative to what I have already tried. Belong uses the Telstra mobile network on the 4G and 5G network. They only started supporting 5G recently which is fantastic news. I have a SIM card data only plan that I use my own modem router with. No need to purchase a modem router from them. It costs $70 a month for 400GB data included. When I first joined we got 500GB included but they have since reduced this inclusion. My own router is a Billion 4520AZ R3. Belong's stated speeds are capped at 100mbps on 4G and 5G. During peak times I am getting around 35mbps download and at 3am in the morning I get around 90mbps. Uploads are between 20-35mbps. I have never had an issue with this service and have contacted customer support only once. I thought the problem I had was with the SIM or the network but it turned out I needed to factory restore and reset up my router which I found very weird. Once customer support advised me to restore the router, everything worked again. I have not had to contact customer support again. The network and service has been perfect from my own experience. Pricing is reasonable.

And non of them.. NON of them can provide decent reception and good internet speeds the only time I was getting the same speed I'm getting on belong ( 120Mb per sec ) Was when I was paying 120 a month with optus.

Belong has gone above and beyond. Even for a simple plan, my new plan was set up and old number was retrieved and all done within 5 minutes at 5pm on a Friday.

Called service centre multiple times and all they've done is be professional ( for what they're doing that is )

I would recommend this over any other provider.

You will find attached to this review a screenshot of 120 megabits per second download.. Now none of the other providers major providers have been able to achieve this..

I almost guarantee anyone who has a negative review on this service provider it is most certainly a personal issue and they don't know how to manage their own life..

Was the absolute best mobile deal for me – I never needed much data, as I'm retried and use wifi mostly. Belong offered a $10 a month with 1gig. Perfect, especially when Belong allows you to carry forward any unused data to the next month. off my phone. The big bonus was, Belong runs off the Telstra Network, Australia's most comprehensive. This IS important, as I found out in Jan about 6 weeks ago. I spent a few days in the Southern Highlands, off the beaten track. My daughter's Vodafone had no bars, and my son's Optus was useless, but my Belong just kept on humming along with 4g, stable with no drop outs. Unfortunately, this $10 plan will be phased out next month, replaced by a $15 per month plan......Time to shop around, but I'm not hopeful of finding anything better. I'll stick with Belong!

So, I ordered my Belong Sim kit online, and start doing research about it online. Read so many bad comments, so I thought I not gonna even give it a try. But, I can guarantee, that those comments are not adequate, for what I really got from BeLong. Yes, app could be a lot quicker these days, but I rather wait 5 seconds longer when it loads, than paying 20$ more per month and getting a bit quicker app. My call is 5/5! The gist of my experience is that I'm not having negative gist. Ya feel me? 10% G-I-S-T not included! – No frills mobile with access to Telstra network on 4G. Works fine. Never had a problem. Plans went up in price but only marginal. On a $25 plan, now $29 per month. Have family on the lower plans and gift them data as needed. scheme is also beneficial. Have almost used that up to its maximum value of around 200 AUD or thereabouts. It's overall a good service that has always treated me okay. I believe they offer up to 150 Mbps on data transfer speeds. In Oz, that's a decent rate for most users IMHO.

I really only go with Belong because they're backed by Telstra's network. We've been with Optus too with one member of my family an original mobile user from the late 1980's (same number). Optus dropped the ball many times over the last five-years so it's good to have a cheap service like Belong that is basically mostly reliable and consistent. Your mileage may vary, of course. Oh yeah; the web interface is good to use. Don't use the app but that's alright too from prior experience. Make sure to keep your browser or OS updated though because it's buggy-as on older platforms or non-updated iOS. Gripes? Paying for more data at 10 AUD for 5 GB does seem a bit steep, I suppose. I guess that's to encourage users to upgrade where relevant. That's easy to do, though! Easy as cherry pie. Whose chopper is this? Whose Zed, pumpkin? Remember to eat your vegetables too.

Why am I writing a (free) review? I never do this. But yeah nah yeah—it's alright, I tell ya. It's alright. Can't really go wrong choosing Belong Mobile prepaid plan. Well you can but you'd need to be pretty unlucky, non-tech savvy, or prehistorically-challenged of mind. Ooga booga, friends. OOGA-BLOODY-BOOGA.

Terrible, had for 2 months what a hassle, I live in suburbs didn’t even risk using it rurally. Between roughly 9am and 5pm every day could not use any data, When I could get access to a site it would time out because of how slow it was. removed this option if you didn’t recharge the service within 6 days of expiry. At times, being remote, that caused a loss of all the data I had paid for and banked over the years. Fast forward to 4 days ago, I had run out of data so I paid $100 onto my plan. To my surprise, this just sits there in Belongs pocket until your next recharge is due. It didn’t replenish my data. I tried calling today but wait times were too long, so I instant messaged instead, after an enternity out of explaining id been topping up my data ($10 for 5gb blocks might I add) and that my $100 paid the other day hadn’t replenished my data, I asked to escalate my complaint, the agent offered me 10gb to not escalate the complaint. I said I still wished to, and was given an ultimatum “ i have tried to solve with 10gb of data, but if you rather complain” Very very odd customer service. So I stated yes I still wished to complain, so they took away their bread crumb offer of 10gb in lieu of an escalated complaint.

 Follow-up  · As stated previously. I have had the new plan as of October when realising that the other data limit was not doing what I needed. Sporadic warnings sometimes, sometimes you’ll receive a text saying when the money is due. Belong overall has been Great. - If your Data runs out, you remain connected though just at a slow speed. Great! - Coverage is good. - My only criticism would be that there is only 1 option for Data Top up between billing cycles of 5GB for $10. After having issues with getting my services connected and not getting the proper support to resolve it, I got the TIO involved and then had a proper case manger to help me out. In the end it was discovered that the type of telstra coverage in my area did not support the Belong net work. Also have moved from Telstra to Belong on mobile and so far have not noticed any difference in speed or service range between the 2! But I’m paying $10 less for 10gb more that for sure! belong screwed me over my family are all with belong i had 300 gig data saved my phone dided had a problem using new phone to log into my account for a week to pay my bill so i lost all my data. i wont be staying with telstra now we are all going to be going to someone else. Belong Mobile is only good for one thing retaining the amount of data you have left on your plan. I recieve at least 3 to 5 call a day from marketing servious. Im sick to death of this. I pay good money to this company only to SELL MY NUMBER. I had enough. I was planning to change any way. They make a payment that l did not give the authority. This is FRUAD. specifying all the details of the issue, they ended up proceeding with internet maintenance in an irrelevant area. I wrote back to them and they opened the case for me, however never got back to me ever again. I followed up after about 1-2 weeks, they re-opened the case and still no one got back to me. Just switched to a different provider this morning and will recommend my friend to do so as well :)

I would give zero stairs if it is a option. I got the "best" plan with data up to 250 mphs and omg, it is so bad! Often 5G is not available, internet speed is terrible for stream and even for basics things. Run away from it... ah not to mention that in less than a month after joining, I received an email saying it would have a price increase of $5. For reference, I am in a metro central area (Nundah, Brisbane) and have a Samsung S24 ultra. Show details

Endless back and forth with a chatbot 15–45 minutes on hold I finaly get through and get hit with an indian call centre agent with bad english

All up, about an hour for something that should take a few minutes.

Also, there should be an email option for two-step verification. Requiring SMS when the SIM is lost makes no sense.

Customer service is appalling. I have spoken to eight different agents, and every single one gave a different answer. None of them were able to fix the issue I had. Now they are increasing prices, claiming “this helps us invest in customer experiences, security, and customer support.” Yet the service doesn’t even work reliably. Even living right next to a tower, I experience dropouts constantly, and customer service only gives half-hearted explanations for why data download speeds are so poor. Even with 5G and full bars, I only get speeds of 20–30 Mbps and calls drop out all the time.

This level of service is frustrating, inconsistent, and does not match the price being charged.

after 7 days they say its resolved. Guess what nope! One person says the brand new sim is faulty. Another person try's to blame office works for not activating it (they did) then they said they can get it working on a e sim and they will call me tommorow. No phone call. Call them... no we cant do that. You need to get another sim. On the way to office works while on phone, I say well yous can refund me for the faulty sim. Ohhh nah its officeworks fault for not activating it. Office works checked and they did. Was spose to get a call back after office works just swapped the sim. No call. On hold again! Now they are telling me they cant verify my account!! My email and d.o.b is wrong! I have the account infrastructure of me it has my name email address and phone number there!!
