Bernina Bernette 65 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMy Bernette 65 stitch selector dial is stuck. How can I free it up so it turns properly?
Dear Monique, Thank you for your enquiry. Without seeing the machine, it is difficult to tell what the problem might be. I would suggest that you take it back to your local Bernina Dealer and get them to take a look at it for you.
My machine will only go in reverse. I don't know what happened to cause this. HELP!
Dear Ann, Sorry to hear that your machine is only sewing in reverse. I would suggest you remove your needle and stitch plate then try and move your feed dogs back and forth to hopefully free them up. If that doesn't work, then I would suggest that you take it to your local Bernina Dealer and get them to take a look at it as it may be that your reverse button is stuck.
I turn stitch dial to a new stitch, but it only stitches #15. It will not change to a different stitch. I want to sew with #2, straight stitch, but it won't do it at #2 setting, just continues to stitch #15. Any solutions? Jan
Dear Jan, If you have selected stitch #2 and adjusted the settings accordingly and the machine is still not sewing correctly, I would suggest that you take the machine to your local BERNINA Dealer for them to take a look.

What is making my machine go backwards by itself!!
Hi my Bernette 65 sewing machine light not working. Bulb changed still not working. What could be the problem. Please help.
Getting ready to start some quilting projects. I would like to purchase a darning foot and a walking foot. My question is: does this machine have a short or long shaft (I cannot tell the difference)? Is it capable of "Free motion quilting"?

How to oil bernette 65 sewing machine?
My Bernette 65 sews backwards when in normal mode. The button for backward sewing does not functional. What can I do?
Why is the base where the bobin is nested keeps popping up all the time and breaking the needles?
Needle won't bring up my bobbin thread. Any ideas?
Having difficulty threading the bottom bobbin in. Can someone please help me out here, as there are no directions!! Thanks.
Here you can see pictures how to put bobbin in external link . It is important to put in thread where yellow arrow is pointed, it is often missed when putting thread in, your bobbin thread needs to look like the last picture, you need to see a thread at the top of bobbin, if not, the machine will not work properly. Also it is important that bobbin is turning in opposite direction then clockwise. Hope you can understand as English is not my mother's language :) Good luck with your sewing machine!
How do I oil my Bernette 65?
I have the same question, I called a shop & they said the model 65 doesnt need to be oiled. Is this true?
According to the owner's manual, you can and should clean and oil the hook in the bobbin.
