advised the team member assisting me that I had purchased the exact same item the previous week for $4 and asked if the price could be checked.
The staff member consulted another employee ([Name Removed]), who confirmed the price as $9 without physically checking the shelf. I reiterated that I believed this to be incorrect and offered to show where I had picked them up from.
When I went to the display, I observed [Name Removed] actively removing the pyjama pants from that section and relocating them elsewhere. When I questioned this, she suggested they may have been “last year’s stock” and implied I may have purchased them last year, which was incorrect. I clearly stated that I had purchased the exact same item just the previous week and that I had the receipt to confirm this.
Despite this, [Name Removed] continued to argue rather than attempting to resolve the situation. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, at which point she stated that she was the supervisor. Shortly after, she offered to call her supervisor, which was confusing given her earlier statement.
Another staff member ([Name Removed]) attended. He advised that the items were “not supposed to be there” and maintained that the pricing error was not the store’s responsibility. I explained that incorrect shelf placement or pricing is the store’s responsibility and that the price displayed should be honoured.
He then offered to sell one pair at $4 and the remaining two at $9 each. Given that I had purchased the same item at $4 the previous week and that they were displayed at that price, I did not find this acceptable.
Throughout the interaction, both staff members were dismissive and argumentative, rather than helpful or solution-focused. As a result, I chose not to proceed with my purchase and left the store.
This experience was disappointing, particularly due to the lack of professionalism, poor communication, and unwillingness to resolve what should have been a straightforward pricing issue.
I would appreciate this matter being looked into, as well as reassurance that staff are appropriately trained in handling pricing discrepancies and customer concerns.
Absolutely USELESS. The bed comes, no slates. One week later the slates for the bed arrive. The dresser arrives part 10 is incomplete. 3 weeks later still trying to get 4 prefabricated silicone plugs. DO NOT waste your time or money, Its an absolute joke.

find, and um no problems, no nothing, um, when I did the purchase. One week's gone, two weeks gone. At the third week, I received the tracking number from the reseller. The vendor that Big W uses to deal with. Unfortunately, the experience from that point onwards was horrible. The tracking number and the goods have never been delivered. After many emails, phone calls, more than one month, dealing with Big W and attention, customer service for Big W was fantastic, but dealing with this vendor with the name of Fresh Cosmetics and me saying, I still want the goods, Fresh Cosmetics people stay away from them. They don't have the product in-house. You pay and they order after from whoever, whatever, and came to a point that I threatened them with consumer affairs after they wanted my product and this fresh cosmetics business was just horrible. And to silence me, they ended up refunding the goods. So, I'll say this, for Big W marketplace or Big W stores, never again, because you should choose properly the people you wanna do business with. Regarding this fresh cosmetics business, it is simply embarrassing, shameful. You guys are a disgrace. Businesses like yours should be shut down by the people of power, the people that can make those sort of decisions, because you guys are a disgrace. Order a recharger for the electric scooter. Arrived today and looked like the rats have been chewing on it. Didn’t have to open the package. It just saw it all fell apart. I think it must’ve been caught in a conveyor belt or something, but the 240 V lead has all been stripped with exposed wiring. Big W really need to do better.

$289.40 for including the delivery fee and basically told me to go make a complaint if we are still unhappy. There is a serious lack of care for their customers and their experience. I have been going to Big W regularly and going forward I will be boycotting this company. Its tragic how they over a small amount of money they are willing to lose a customer for life.

I threatened them with the Ombudsman that they agreed to refund me in full. I would never buy anything online from BigW so buyers be aware of the pitfalls when purchasing online. I would NOT recommend it!

Why can’t Big W deliver goods from the place where the order originated, i.e. Perth in this case. It is hardly some exclusive and rare furniture! Do not buy this sofa bed from Big W Marketplace. It cost me 711aud and It’s extremely uncomfortable and broke easily!!! completely not worth the money. Marketplace who have been unable to get a response from the seller “Oppsbuy”. I’m disgusted that Big W won’t take any responsibility in this matter further than trying to contact the seller on my behalf. I believe Big W should refund or replace this item because they chose to use Oppsbuy as a supplier and they should stand behind the products they sell. I chose to buy from Big W online due to their excellent reputation and I regret that I didn’t understand that the returns or complaints process was not managed by them. Marketplace sellers are essentially overpriced Temu items, specifically 'Microway', which have multiple listings. Paid $40 for a $2 temu-style dustpan and broom that arrived filthy in a battered box that smells like a poultry slaughterhouse.

cheaper) but it was $40 more than Jaycar's $79.95 price. Further, one of their hosted sellers had the same unit for $30 more again (a gob-smacking $70 more than the Jaycar price!) showing up in the same search result on the page (See image). BigW's price was excessive, but unwitting buyers could inadvertently pay even more than than that on the same site. Why does BigW allow this? It's very deceptive, so please beware - especially in regard to the other sellers they host. BigW prices are very high on so many items, but there seems to be a myth that they're a good value 'budget' store. My theory is that they use 'loss leaders' to get people in, but make huge margins on other items (such as the radio/cassette player). Greater community awareness is needed to help curtail the profits of this very greedy company, and the ACCC should be on to them daily - but they'd certainly have their work cut out.
Follow-up · I didn't purchase the Digitech unit from them due to the high price, opting for a Thomson one on Ebay. In appearance and features it seemed identical to the Digitech, so it may just be different badging. The Thomson has been doing the job so far with radio, tape and mp3. For $54 it was a good price. Gearzen. The trolley is to be used for food shopping and I have no doubt the smell would leach onto the food I bought. Didn't hear anything back so got in touch with Big W. The seller then responded and I told them the problem of the very strong smell. They said to air it (which I had already done) and that the smell came from the wheels and it will eventually go away. I have now aired it for 6 days and have not been able to use it. I have not heard back from the Seller since my last response of "Take Care" which suggests they are not interest. As there hasn't been a solution, I escalated the matter with Big W Marketplace and have not heard back or received a confirmation email. Also the product colour I received was not what was advertised - which is the colour I wanted. Do not use this website.

The sellers have no contact number and no drop-down item in the menu to say "item not received" I now have no way of inquiring to anyone, so I guess I will just have to do a chargeback from the bank. I wish I had checked their rating here first, but I thought BigW was a reputable company. Clearly not.
Follow-up · After a lot of emails back and forth they finally conceded that the initial item was lost and sent a replacement. Turned up 1 day short of a month. Ebay would have resolved the issue in half the time and the item was cheaper. Lesson learned. Just because it is a big company name, does not equate to reliability.

I was thinking the price was a mistake because they were ridiculously cheaper than anywhere else so I was a little dubious, but they are fantastic. Checking out the email from Big W this morning I was looking through the toys available. Most were for preschool or very young children. 2 items caught my eye - Buzzed which is a drinking game that can get you drunk and another was a carry bag for 2 bottles of wine. Our delivery was sent to an address 30 kilometres away. They were reluctant to immediately rectify the issue only stating it was up to the 3rd party to fix it and could not give a timeline in which it would be fixed. A 60 kilometre round trip to pick it up myself was just luck as the person that received the parcel was helpful. I will never use them again as it is just to risky.

Absolutely useless. Beware do not order if it says market place. Big w clearly washes its hands off from assisting its customer. A standard delivery that takes 4 business days is now more than 10 days and apart from idiotic emails from big w saying it's looking out nothing has happened. Marketplace says goods are instock then make selection and after post code they are out of stock. They don't need to wait for postcode to determine stock levels. Garbage middle man reseller.
