I have sold my motorcycle on Marketplace and I didn’t pay for any fees. Since I open the account on Bikesales and paid 89$ none asked about my bike. Waste of money. Marketplace way easier and no fees to pay if u sell.
Not 1 enquiry received through bikesales, while the identical ad on Facebook marketplace received nearly a dozen and ultimately sold to a FB user. Bikesales is redundant and a complete waste of money in my experience.
Do not waste your money. $100 down the drain. Pathetic performance not a single lead generated. Save your money and time and simply sell your bike on Facebook marketplace. Prepaid websites like this should be avoided and will ultimately become redundant.

The Bikesales interface for advertising is simple to use and I received a number of enquiries quite quickly. Bike sold in less than a week. Show reply
It’s a great experience finding or looking for, the perfect bike, easy as ! – Great place to find your dream bike. Easy to navigate both dealers and private sellers ads Show reply
A great overall experience & outcome – I heard back from a serious interstate buyer within 48 hours of placing my advert, after which we concluded the due diligence, negotiated a price that we were both happy with, and sealed the deal one month later. Had a couple of hustlers & tyre kickers along the way, but that was to be expected
Bike Sales Review Yamaha V STAR XVS650A – I was facing challenges with the types of customers attracted through various marketing mediums, particularly those who may be seeking bargains or have unrealistic expectations about the purchase process. Dealing with such situations can be tricky and left feeling uncomfortable. Even though the amount of enquiry was minimal, they were very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Show reply
Bikesales.com.au provided the best platform for selling my bike – The "Ultimate"ad created a lot of interest and it remained at the forefront of most sales. Multiple contacts and not too many tyre kickers. Overall very pleased with the result. Show reply

Being an aged motorcyclist, my Specialist said it was time to hang up my boots and sell my BMW. So I took my time and uploaded pictures of the bike that taken with my trusty Nikon DSLR together with a sub edited description of the motorcycle. My wife is a senior sub so the description was absolutely spot on. Within 24 hours I got a bite. The… Read more
would be buyer said he was working at a remote worksite in the Northern Territory. Well, seeing as the Territory is pretty remote area I accepted this at face value.
Then he said that the courier would only accept a BSB to BSB transaction and the matter would need to be via PayPal. I even received correspondences from PayPal, or so I thought.
I then contacted the buyer and said I'd check with PayPal. They told me it was a scam!
I next contacted the "buyer" and informed him what PayPal had said and he replied just send the money for the courier and he'd then fix it up with with PayPal.
So what are we talking about; the whole process was an attempt to rip me off.
What did I learn from this?:
1. Never give anything more than your account number and the bank's BSB number 2. Alway's speak to a person over the phone not just via an email address 3. If a person says "you can trust me" then obviously you can't trust them 4. Never ever send money to get a sale...it's just plain dumb 5. Always get them to inspect the motor vehicle.
That's what I learnt from using Bikesales and I'm now going to have the bike sold through a bike shop.
Oh, and for the record I didn't get ripped off and I didn't lose a cent except from the wasted $160 in advertising fees with Bikesales.
Look, there are some really bad people out there so be aware and don't trust anyone. It's a horrible world we live in and as a final note, the Nigerian lottery wins are making a comeback. Sigh!
Quick and easy but watch out for scammers – The first contact from the ad was within a couple of hours from a fellow claiming to be in a remote northern territory mine which was why he texted me from his computer and not from a phone. We started corresponding by e-mail and he asked all the right questions even providing a photo of a legitimate looking NSW drivers licence as proof of ID. We… Read more
elected to go through PayPal for the sale and that day the buyer e-mailed me saying the money was in PayPal with an extra $1650 for his agent who would be around shortly. I was to go to Western Union and send $1650 out of my pocket to his agents office in China then contact PayPal with the Western Union number and the bike money and his $1650 would then be released into my PayPal account. Paypal do not offer this service if you deposit with them it appears in your account in minutes.
In the mean time I have had 6 reasonable offers and one right on the money. Deposit payed and pick up arranged. All good Seller Beware.
In reality, the best way to sell – Some people might think $50 for an ad is expensive for a $5000 bike, but in reality it is quite cheap (effectively a 1% commission) to get huge exposure. Real estate agents charge you 3% or more. EBay is the same price as Bikesales and doesn't get the same number of responses - plus the listing has a time limit. Gumtree is free until you want to… Read more
add even basic special features, plus my experience of Gumtree is that a lot of people waste your time and send low-ball offers. Bikesales is where all the buyers are, so you're much more likely to get a better price. I don't know how much it would've cost me (per week) to get an ad in the SMH back in the day - it might have been cheaper if you sold it in 1 week, but if you're forking out $X every week then it would certainly start to get frustrating. I've seen a number of people complain about the cost of Carsales/Bikesales, but if you want to get a good price and not get jerked around it is actually good value.

i have sold a couple of other bikes over the years and always sold quite quickly. I never exaggerate the item. Always check existing for sales check their prices against my Item and price accordingly to opposition. Asking a fair price regarding age and condition, it took me 2 weeks to sell my Z900 Kawasaki. Buyer paid listed price which is what I expected. I did find it beneficial to pay for a premium advertisement $100 Show reply

I was able to sell my kids quad bike with ease via bike sales.com.au This is a site is for genuine buyers not id*ot time wasters that you get on the like of gumtree, marketplace etc. thank you. Show reply
The platform works well and the messaging function is useful. I believe the platform is OK so long as you don't have any issues. I had a problem a couple of years ago purchasing a vehicle and found to my surprise that there was no support at all. Thanks Show reply

Used to be a good app, used it to buy and sell. But it’s total garbage now, the app runs but search is broken on my iPad. There’s no way to report a problem because they don’t want to know about it. So it’s trash.
Just tried it in the browser, that’s all screwed up as well. They must have the cheapest developers in the universe.
They send fake enquiries from Bikesales, not real buyers. Pathetic. You as they come through the same "im interested in your add" they remain unread and no reply when you try contact. Should be illegal.

They are simply terrible, charging fee for advertising for which you don't get a response and you ultimately was able to sell it on Facebook Market place with consistent enquiries.

Best Place to Buy & Sell a Bike – Always have good success on Bikesales. I believe genuine buyers will generally look for reputable place to buy a bike. Also, no scammers or time wasters this time, all enquiries I received were genuine. Show reply
Zero Communication – Trying to communicate with Bikesales during the last couple of days has been less than satisfactory. It all started with my existing Password being no longer acceptable. Unfortunately their on-line facility rejected all my attempts to supply an upgraded Password. So, tried once again yesterday to do the same but without success - bearing in mind I… Read more
can't access my add & related communications without getting to my page. So, sent an E-mail & rang them. Only an automated E-mail response & the phones aren't manned. Tried to ring again today & once again there is nobody there to answer the phone. How can a highly profitable, major business like Car Group not even answer a telephone. They clearly value their customers - not! So, no idea what to do. I'm happy if someone could offer a suggestion. I guess it's a sign of the times. Customers are just necessary evil, not only as far as Car Group is concerned but many other, particularly, large organisations!

Money for nothing – This is the 3rd time I've paid for a carsales network ad, and the 3rd time it hasn't worked. In fact, other than scam messages I received no genuine interest for any of my ads through the carsales network. Facebook marketplace is free, works via an app instead of browser, and had always resulted in my sales. I'll not be using this service again, just fb marketplace
FInd the right buyer! – Bikesales is the best way to find the right buyer! Published my ad in the morning and had a buyer coming to inspect the bike in the afternoon. Before, I had the bike on Facebook marketplace for almost three months and had just from non-genuine buyers and scammers. Show reply

Advertised for $215 and now I’m blocked fo no reason – Advertised bike yesterday they took my $215 and went on to see the add and notice I’ve blocked, I’ve done nothing wrong. Still can’t see if my bike is advertised. Totally regret having anything to do with Bikesales.com.au

Not what I'd hoped for – After advertising my bike on bikesales.com the number plates were cloned and dozens of fines and tolls were run up on them. Bikesales was the only place that the registration information had been advertised, yet when I approached them, my emails were ignored.
Blocked – Useless. Been using it buying & selling prob 7-8 bikes for many years. Suddenly I’m now a ‘bot’ apparently & I’m blocked. I have no idea why, I’m just a bloke looking at bikes. Back to Just Bikes now & they don’t stop me looking at bikes. My 2 banks don’t block me, my super fund doesn’t block me even the lotto app doesn’t block me but now I’m not allowed to look at bikes. Absolute fools

Listed at below market place, sold via Facebook. Don’t waste 85$ – Listed at below market place, no queries at Bikesales. 85$ spent on ad was a waste of money
Poor tool to contact sellers – For the buyer it is quite poor, afyer approaching many sellers, I have had a very poor contact rate. I would say 1 out of 10. Some are already sold, usually dealer adverts. Compared to fb marketplace, fb wins hands down. The search facility is great, the prices are ib general 10-20% higher I guess to accommodate sellers fees. I mainly use it as a rough guide for prices. I don't bother contacting sellers because as I said the success rate is low. Show details
Lots of good bikes but nobody actually responds – Contacted 6 sellers about their bike(s). The only person who bothered to respond said they were on vacation. I don't know if it is because of how the site works or if it was just bad luck but eventually I just went through Healey's - got the bike the same day I inquired about it. Either the sellers on this site don't actually want to sell their bikes or there is some kind of communication issue. Show details
Very Positive experience – Deal done in 18 hours, swap and cash adjustment, sold 2 other bikes before on Bikesales, no scammers, bought 3 other bikes, no scams. g'tree only got scammers, (like 6 in 2weeks). Will only use Bikesales.com.au
Useless website NO TRAFFIC! – Less traffic than FB/Gumtree, no response at all for $80, only 60 views. FB got 1100+ views, free. Don't bother with this website.
