options - and they stuffed up the initial setup anyway, then I got - and continued to get - reminders EVERY month to forward the latest bills to them, despite having set it up to be auto forwarded when I first set it up, and despite me sending several emails to them to please sort it out.

Not to mention the fact that every time they sent me a list of recommendations for cheaper supply, a cursory investigation showed a lot of the top recommendations to have a very poor review profile (1-2 stars) on the web.

To cap it off, I'm not really sure any of their options were cheaper than the suppliers I'd been using anyway.

I have just switched using the https://compare.energy.vic.gov.au/ site to a supplier that is well regarded, and cheaper than the one I was with under BillHero.

I so wanted this to work; the initial promise was enticing. But the bottom line, for me anyway: just not worth the stress, and the supposed, dubious savings. Certainly no better, IMHO, than other FREE comparison methods.

They get a copy of my utility bill when I do and then analyse it with other provider rates. I’ve got both gas and electricity with Bill Hero. Since subscribing I’ve changed providers twice a year (they actually do all the work) and am convinced they’ve saved me hundreds$$. comparison would be better. So based on the above alone, I would have given them a 3 out of 5 maybe. The thing that really gets up my nose however, (and the reason I only give them 1 out of 5) is that a google search comes up with, "You can cancel at any time through our self-serve billing account management portal at https://billhero.com.au/account.". Well, we tried that only to get the following message, (several times), "Something went wrong. Can't open billing portal. You haven't made any purchases yet." WTH. There is no phone number on their site, which just adds to the frustration. We've sent several emails and received several replies, basically ending in, "a team member will contact you shortly". Bugger off Bill Hero, just fix your Billing Portal so we can unsubscribe ourselves.

Awesome service - saves heaps of money and time, priceless! – I have been a member for over a year now and love the concept. I just would not have contemplated. So far I have saved over $1330 :-) . I have read a lot of the other reviews - good and bad and can't understand those who have not had a good experience. I had a few problems to begin with (of my own making) which where quickly sorted out for me. Also had a few queries on their recommendations and how to best use their service/review recommendations etc etc and had a great telephone conversation with their support team explaining everything. I'm writing this review because I really want this service to continue - yes I'm being selfish :-) I'm sure it isn't perfect but if you hit a snag, persevere because it truly is worth it financially and in time saving.

In November they suggested i change to momentum energy, I approved the change and the $25 for them to do it and got report to say it had been lodged. But it never happened. Also the amounts they show as annualized savings are amounts shown on the standard electricity price - and no connection to the savings you had already found. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Useless due to providers only doing "estimated" meter reads – I used Bill Hero to change both energy and gas. Comparing plans was easy initially and I saved money when I switched. However the ongoing bill monitoring is useless because of estimated meter reads. I hardly ever get real meter reads with my new providers. compares prices based on a totally made up figure from the provider and tells me I should switch. Then I finally get around to uploading an actual meter read, there's a huge bill adjustment, and Bill Hero flips to the other extreme of how I'm on the best plan ever.

They would be real heroes if they could tell me which providers do actual meter reads because paying bills based off made up usage numbers (and then having to faff around correcting their made up numbers) is frustrating as hell.
