I have two third party property damage car policies with Bingle and have done for years. I have not really had to deal with them because I have not had a car accident so this review is purely based on user interface/friendliness. No issue with pricing or policy description which has been great. I needed to update payment details as one card… Read more

expires. SO much hassle navigating my own online account that it went beyond the exp. date of card and I ended up behind by a few days. Notified via email and SMS. The email for reset password mechanism was faulty, so I spent a week trying and failing to access my account. They cannot be called. Mysteriously it just decided to work after a week (And please don't waste time asking whether I checked junk and all that - Bingle flat-out were unable to send a password rest email for over a week)

I proceeded to go through the 3 or even 4 step authentication process of setting up my online account

Once there, I had no option to update my card or payment method. Just two policies with a prompt to make a one off payment to catch up on the overdue payments. The correspondence I had received via email from Bingle advised that the policy was not cancelled yet, and that another attempt to deduct the owing amount would be made on a specific date roughly two weeks into the future to catch the policy up. Very reasonable

It was not clear whether following the prompts to make a one off payment would lead to an an opportunity to update my payment method, so I faffed around looking here there and everywhere looking for the way (surely there's a way...?) where I could update my payment method, which would most certainly be in keeping with everyone's best interests

Account (Top right) only has Contact dets, Marketing pref., Change password, and logout.

Menu (Top left) Has Policies, Claims, Docs., Quotes, and Payments and Billing

After payments and billings you select an insurance policy (So, not your profile or account - rather a specific policy?) Then there is no option to update payment method Just a prompt to catch up with a one off payment

One- off payment New card details entered - Pay

Thanks for catching up, would you like to update your regular payment method? Yes? Ok, please enter your payment details..

1. Clunky and glitchy as hell 2. The privilege of being able to contact me easily and at will on my phone and via email without themselves remaining contactable 3. User unfriendly, all the more harmful because of the overt pride they exude at being an un callable service

Bingle is a bungle - a bloody disgrace! Involved in a 'minor' accident with a Bingle customer - Bingle took their customers 'word' without a police report, just aswell my son & I took photos & went in & reported to police, now we are disputing Bingle customer claim. Police didn't see my son or I being at fault. 0 star rating. SCAMMERS Show details

Would love to give 0 stars. If you’re reading reviews, I’m sure it’s because you’re thinking about purchasing Bingle car insurance because they’re cheap. DO NOT DO IT! Don’t sign up with them, don’t give them your bank card information. Just avoid this company at all costs. the complete lack of codes being sent. These codes only come via text message, there is no option to request a code via email and you need these codes to do absolutely anything on the website. I couldn’t cancel my policy myself or update my information due to never once receiving a code. There’s also no phone number you can team them on, it’s all based off emails. Getting a reply to my number of emails and requests off their website took days and even then I was told to change my password. Which again, you can’t do without a code! Codes that never come. It took exactly one week for them to cancel the policy on their end and email confirming id be getting my money back. By this point I had to email telling them that bank card had been canceled and they needed to reverse the charge rather than refund it. well see how long THAT process takes. once again, please do yourself a favour and avoid this company. it isnt worth the back and forth.

Great insurance company and highly recommended! – My experience with Bingle has been fantastic! I don't know why others have given so much negative feedback. I went through the process online to claim a repair. As long as the correct details are filled in at each stage, there shouldn't be any issues. My claim was approved, and I didn't have to pay the excess as I wasn't at fault. I dropped my car… Read more

off at a repairer designated by Bingle and got it back in less than a week. The repairer was professional, super friendly, and helpful.

I highly recommend Bingle to people who want affordable premiums and a smooth claim process. Ignore those negative comments; they might be fake ones written by competitors.

Horrific insurance company - I do not recommend. Was involved in 3 car pile up, no care was shown just wanted money from me. The bingle repairer is next level bad, they said they’d inspected the engine as well as body damage but they had not, my engine failed on the freeway in peak hour. Avoid at all costs and go with a reputable insurance company. Show details

Disgusting! I sold my car 12 months ago and canceled the insurance via the online system. I checked the portal the next day and I had no active policy. I found out they have been charging my husbands card for a year! They are impossible to contact and because the cancelation was done via the portal I have no proof of anything. We have paid over $800 for nothing! I will be taking this a lot further. Show details

Definitely sign up with Bingle if, one year later, you would like to renew your insurance at double the price. I paid $1287 last year and they have just sent me a renewal for $2584. Bingle has won the Canstar award for Outstanding Value Car Insurance again — which honestly makes sense, considering how little their staff actually do. police report just to get this useless insurance company to act. After that, I heard nothing from Bingle for a month. When I finally contacted them, I was told the police had located the other driver and that he admitted fault. I was then instructed to book my car into one of their “approved” repair centres, which turned out to be another nightmare considering there is nothing close by!

I waited months for what I was told would be a assessment, only to receive a text the day before saying my car was actually booked in for repairs. I had to cancel because I needed to organise a hire car through Right2Drive, which is apparently impossible in a hit and run situation.

After months of back and forth, Bingle then refused to provide any details about the other driver, citing a so-called “conflict of interest”, effectively punishing the victim instead of the person who fled the scene. I was forced to go back to the police myself, who were able to provide the driver’s full name and address; however, there was no phone number or insurance claim on file.

Bingle then refused to spend even a few minutes on the phone with Right2Drive to provide the missing details I needed for a hire car. Absolutely unbelievable.

Why do we pay for insurance when they do absolutely nothing to help when you actually need them? As a direct result of Bingle’s ongoing refusal to assist or provide even basic support, I am now left out of pocket for the repairs caused by this damage. I ultimately refused to even drop my car off for repairs, as I have zero confidence it would be handled by anyone more competent than their phone staff.

I will be reporting Bingle to the AFCA for being absolutely useless and repeatedly refusing to do anything to resolve this matter.

Don’t even bother. This company (more like a scam) is an absolute joke. Avoid at all costs!!!

I lodged my claim on 25/11 and the experience since has been unacceptable. number for anyone handling my claim until I submitted a formal complaint. I was forced to chase repeatedly, send follow-ups, and spend over an hour on hold just to get basic answers. Even then, responsibility was spread across multiple people with no ownership.

I was eventually told I must obtain and pay for my own independent assessment, plus cover vehicle transport and hire car costs, despite the dispute arising from Bingle’s assessment. That shifts all cost and inconvenience onto the customer.

I’m simply trying to have my car repaired to a safe and complete condition under the policy. Instead, I’ve experienced delays, poor communication, and zero accountability.

Would NOT recommend.

The most disgusting car insurance. 8 years ago they were ok, now - below zero. 1. They do not care which fault on accident was. They always blame you, no exceptions. 2. Dear Bingle Internal Dispute Resolution Team, I am writing regarding my car insurance policy for which I submitted a cancellation request via your Self-Service portal on 14 August 2025. cancellation request was made well before any automatic renewal or prior warning—yet the deduction occurred nonetheless. I require this situation to be resolved swiftly. If I do not receive confirmation and the refund by that date, I will have no alternative but to escalate my complaint to: - The Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) - Consumer Affairs Victoria - The ACCC, on the grounds of potential misleading, deceptive, or unfair conduct. Ode to Bingle: The “Fluff-Free” Folly

Beware, dear friends, this modern-day jest. Bingle Insurance, at "just pennies the best." They boast “no fluffy bits,” a stripped-down delight, But that opulence hides one stressful plight.

They lure you in cheap, with an award-winning cheer, But your best-laid plans? They disappear.

Some waited weeks, with no refund in sight— Two weeks, they said. Nothing. Folks still fight.

They’re “online‑only,” they say — no humans, no phone. Just click after click, feeling utterly alone. You’ll chase a “help” form, only to find dead ends, Or robots replying—oh, how they pretend!

Claims drag so long it feels like eternity’s span, One review says, “My daughter’s car vanished… they can’t even scan.” ProductReview.com.au

Another laments being car‑less for five full weeks, No updates given—just silence that speaks. ProductReview.com.au

And loyalty? A trap, a sneaky little game— Premiums hike overnight, with no one to blame.

One poor soul saw their rate nearly triple in fright— “Algorithm says ‘please go away’” felt utterly right.

So here’s a quirky warning, a cautionary rhyme: If smooth, friendly service’s what you seek in your time, Skip Bingle’s budget appeal and its fluffy-free cheer— Because when trouble strikes, you’ll wish you hadn’t steered here.

Bingle Car Insurance Review – Poor Service & Lack of Communication I regret choosing Bingle Car Insurance, and I want to warn others about their terrible customer service and lack of support. should be able to manage my policy easily, but Bingle makes it nearly impossible. Their system is rigid, and simple changes feel like pulling teeth.

Zero Communication – Getting a response from them is a nightmare. Emails go unanswered, and there’s no direct customer service line** to speak to a real person when you need help.

No Support for Concerns – When I had questions or needed assistance, I was left in the dark. It’s unacceptable to pay for a service and get zero reliable support in return.

The only positive thing about Bingle is the low price—but that means nothing when you’re left stranded without proper service. I’ve since switched to another insurer (paying more) just for peace of mind and actual customer care.

Final Verdict: If you value good service, transparency, and control over your policy, **avoid Bingle**. The savings aren’t worth the hassle. 1/5 stars.
