I bought mine with extra cloth pads from The Good Guys. It lasted only 2 years so I gave the extra pads to an op-shop. Good luck with yours.

It makes a gentle click-click-click as the steam is pumped into the mop head. It has 3 levels of steaming, I usually use level 2. Check that the water tank is full and seated properly in its holder. You also need to keep the steam trigger fully depressed to activate the steam flow. This is a handy feature which cuts of the steam when released if you need to answer the phone or the door, rather than having to switch it off at the power point.

Yes, this is the steam releasing. I also generally use level 2 steam level and use de mineralised water only.

I have floor tiles and find I don't need to hold it constantly. There is enough heat and moisture in the pad. I hold in every so often.

The Bissell Powerfresh 1440f is a really good steam mop. We have used it many times. It does a great job. Note that it does have a larger head than most steam mops and therefor it is a little harder to push around the floor. Apart from that we can't fault it.

The Bissell Powerfresh 1440f steam mop is the first and only steam mop we have ever had so I can't say if any of the other models are better.
