Bissell Spinwave Cordless 2240F Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 13873, 2240F and 760857is it ok to use on floating floors
Just wondering if the pads are meant to get warm I saw no steam at all and the pads were stone cold at the end of mopping , I don’t feel like my floors are clean if it’s only warm water :( is this normal ?
As far as i know it doesn't have steam functions
No steam function, but I do use warm water in the tank and I find it cleans and dries better
Battery won't charge ...just gad 2 flashing lights at each end, not the usual charging lights. Machine is just over 2 years old, not used frequently. Any ideas what the problem might be?
Can I purchase a bigger capacity battery for the 2240F model
Can you leave your Bissell mop on charge will it damage the battery
Yes you can. No, it won't.
I don’t but pretty sure you can
Hi all.. there seems to be variations in charge life of the mop is this happening later as it gets older or while relatively new.. it says 20 min use before you charge .. America has corded version as well as battery I wish we had the choice..
You need to fully charge before use, I think we charged ours for about 2 hrs after purchase. After that maximum mopping time is 20 minutes before another recharge is required.
Battery life is rubbish considering it takes such a long time to charge. Maximum run time I got was 15 minutes which covered one quarter of my living room. Hence with charging time would take 8 hours to clean one room. Save your money, I sent mine back. There is a mains power model but unfortunately it’s not available in Australia.
Battery life is indicative of the pads you use and the surface you're cleaning, it will need to work a bit harder with the scrubby pads and on matte/textured surfaces - so expect less runtime when using on those.
However if you feel there may be a battery issue, please don't hesitate to reach out to Bissell customer care - or message the Bissell Oceania page on Facebook/Bissell Australia on Instagram.
It is unfortunate the corded version isn't available in Aus, as having the option would have been nice.
P.S. I can agree with Gold Coast Girl regarding charging straight out of the box - best not to use a cordless product out of the box until it's fully charged first, just to condition the battery.
Does it clean the grout between the tiles? Sick of doing mine with a toothbrush!
No it’s not that good. I wish it was.
No, this isn't a grout cleaner. You may want to look at their steam cleaner called the Powerfresh Slim Professional for that.
Other than the Bissel cleaning solution, is there any other product that you have tried?
Putting anything other than water or water mixed with Bissell solutions will void your warranty, and may even damage parts of your machine. The main formulas available at electrical retailers and online through Bissell are Hard Floor Sanitise, Wood Floor Solution, and Multi-Surface/Multi-Surface Pet formula.
The dispenser of the cleaning fluid is just a bottle that you fill and slot into the machine. Once installed you click the spray symbol and the fluid is dispensed onto the floor. I find it hard to believe that it would damage your machine if you used say water and vinegar. I recently bought a bottle of the Bissell formula $14 for a litre at the Good Guys. Might not continue at that price.
They've had many issues with people using things that simply aren't designed to be put into the machines (namely eucalyptus oil, bleach, or floor cleaning products from the supermarket) and it either reacting with the plastic bottle and mishaping it, or by eating away at the internals of the cap itself causing the entire contents of the bottle to dump onto the floor. Water + vinegar may be fine, but just be aware it may complicate or void your warranty. I tend to use about half the amount of what's recommended on the bottle to stretch it further for general cleaning, then amp it up if it's something particularly bad I'm cleaning.
i find that the solution needs to be diluted more than they recommend or it gets very sudsy and residue on floor gets sticky. Since doing this floor feels great and clean. I wouldn't add anything internally to machine but bissell products or you void your warranty. You could spray some vinegar and water on the floor by hand from a separate spray bottle and let the pads do their wonderful work.
Hi, I have white, high gloss floors that are prone to streaks. Is the spinwave recommended for high gloss floors??
TIA
Spinwave is ideal for high gloss flooring because of the buffing motion and the fact you control the amount of moisture used. I've found in particular it's really effective when used with the Hard Floor Sanitise formula (which tends to dry far quicker than their other formulas) + warm water.
Can you use the Bissell spinwave on luxury vinyl planking
Yes you can we have been using one on our vynil planking for over 12 mo this now no issues
Yep, it's suitable for all hard floors.
yes I took the plunge and bought it and does a wonderful job on my vinyl planking floors. 1 Tip dilute the cleaning liquid to half what they say as I found it very concentrate and floor was very sticky to walk on. But not anymore plus it is now more economical as well. I had a steam cleaner but wasn't it recommended for these floors as it can breakdown the glue backing. So have put it into retirement.
Hi Guys Q1- Can someone tell me how long the "full charge battery" lasts Q2- Has anyone tried this out on Vinyl Flooring and how do you rate it
Hi, my fully charged battery has enough charge to do my whole house which has a huge amount of tiles. I haven't tried it on a vinyl floor but love it on my tiles.
ok thats fine but how long is that, for example - 1Hr, 2Hrs ???
I take half An hour to do mine. A week later I haven’t recharged it and it will do it again so I’d say up to 2 hours at least. I love mine. It’s only four months old and I was using the cleaner that came with it but it left lots of circular streaks. I now use hot water and white vinegar and it’s brilliant. Hint buy replacement pads on eBay - so much cheaper.
Thanks Trish
If using from fully charged it will last 25mins. From flat, it will take approx 2hrs to recharge. The machine, including battery, has a two year warranty. Works a dream on all hard floors, including vinyl
Thanks Brad
Sorry Trish81 even the manufacturer states it will only last 15 to 20 minutes on a full charge , which takes an agonizing 4 hours! I only got 13 minutes and 42 seconds from mine and it's being sent back.
Obviously consider the runtime when purchasing any cordless product, and whether it will be enough for you. Otherwise, the corded version of the Bissell Crosswave might be more suitable. Spinwave's runtime will vary depending on whether you're using the soft pads, or the scrubby pads, and whether your surface is shiny/smooth or matte/textured.
can you use this on a floating laminate floor?
Hi there, yes you can.
Can I just use hot water and white vinegar?
can't see why not, good idea, although the water shouldn't be over 60 degrees c.
A very small amount of vinegar mixed with the water may be ok - though I would only use what the manufacturer recommends during the warranty period.
Good idea brad except I took out an extended warranty! I think it’s for four years.
Oh right, maybe don't mentioned the vinegar in the unlikely event something happens then haha ;)
